Definitely get the tri-trip sandwich. The bread is crispy, and meat is juicy. Although if you hate well done meat, dont get it. Since the slices are thinly slice, it cook faster. I recommend the ribs if you want something cooked medium rare. Big side salad, good macaroni salad, great fries.

I havent been to BBQ land for a year. So this afternoon I went and ordered the Pork Rib with 3 sides. I took the meal home and looking forward to a delicious meal. One bite of the Rib and it was dry and tasteless. It look like it was cooked in the morning and reheated. Very disappointed, and I shouldnt had ate it, because later it gave me a upset stomach 😞

It was underwhelming. I know the cost of meat is high but for the price you would think they would compensate with more sides. The trip tip was hard to chew. The sides were underwhelming. The coleslaw was flavorless, macaroni salad had no flavor. My daughters burger was overcooked.I dont really get why this place is so hyped. The place across the street is much better.

Ive seen this place for years but never gone to. I havent tried much here but the tritip sandwiches fries and chili beans I got for the price was great, friendly service and foods comes out fast, good for work lunch. They also have a good variety of bbq food to choose from

Disappointed for a $25 purchase. Two traveling seniors shared the 1 meal purchased and had lots left over that went in the trash. 3 Spare ribs were of good size but not tender. They were rubbery, almost undercooked. Potato salad was very bland. Bread was ok and the green salad was the best item, it was fresh and the only item fully eaten.

Trying to find the best tri tip in the area and this place does not have it. Steak reminded me of what you would get at IHOP or some other diner style restaurant. It tasted like it was pan fried. I also didnt like that one small piece of garlic toast was counted as a side. On the positive side, the employees were pleasant and helpful.

The owner was rude the tri tip was dry. The smallest sides I’ve ever seen on a plate and they were flavorless. Never again. Paying $20 for that junk wasn’t the worst part it was when I was leaving I seen the owner dig in the trash with his tongs. When I seen that I lost it. He needs to be shut down that can get somebody really sick and he doesn’t care. It needs to be shut down he is a disgrace to the food industry.

Place is ok to eat at. I tried 2 different plates, yes Im a fatty but a food critic, all ribs could have been seasoned a little better. Tri tip was very good. Im not a bbq sauce fan but with the ribs it was a must. Macaroni was a little too much mayonnaise flavor but some pepper smoothed it out a little bit. Santa Maria needs a solid bbq place but it is what it is.

We went there three times in a week. The food is good. The restaurant is squeaky clean. The menu is varied and super service! BBQ meats are tender and moist and both the beef and pork bulgogi were super yummy. Each had its own flavor profile were very enjoyable. The pork is pleasantly spicy. The beef bulgogi was a super flavorful traditional bulgogi, and not too sweet.

The prices dont match the quality or portions. The hamburger was dry and the tri-tip sandwich was pretty small compared to other restaurants in the area. The tri-tip itself wasnt prepared very well, it was tough, not tender at all. The beans were ok though. The coleslaw made this southern born man just plain sad.

Overly priced for specks of meat I got (2) ribs & (2) tri tip and (3) sides for $20.00.The meat was little pieces of meat on the ribs I got 1 small rib than another rib was 1/2 the size of the other. The tri tip was 2 thin strips of tri tip and the sides were 2 salads no tomatoes just lettuce nothing in the salad except lettuce and dressing. The other item was a little piece of garlic bread.My suggestion dont waste your money it is not worth it.That was 20.00CrazyRather go to in n out at least I get way more for My money !!Plus the food was not even hot

Very satisfying meal. I got a tri-tip sandwich with macaroni salad for about 10 bucks. The salad portions are small but the sandwich is regular size. The meat was tender and tasty and the macaroni salad was good too. You get two sides with your sandwich (beans,garlic bread, potato salad etc) fairly quick getting order and I was pleased with my food.

We ordered a rack of spare ribs, and a double side of coleslaw. The ribs were fantastic, perfectly seasoned, tender and moist. The coleslaw was delicious, I like how they shredded the cabbage thin and very flavorful. My 1st time here, will definitely come again!! 👍🏼😉

Ive been purchasing ribs and other food for years. The ribs were dry and day old and not worth eating. I tried to give the place another chance a few days later, this time I had a hamburger with onion rings and fries, it was like eating the sole of a shoe, tough and dry. I will not be returning, maybe you should find a new cook. I almost forgot the ribs cost $18.00 & the two burgers and fries and onion rings cost $28.00, please tell me if this is not over charging, really trying to support small business since COVID-19, but, please we all went through the same thing. 🤔😱

I just ordered for delivery for the first time, the food was here in about 20 min. It was nice and hot. We got the tri-tip sandwich, which comes with two sides, we got the rice and beans, the sandwich was good, it had four pieces of meat, the beans needed salt. We also got the grilled steak salad, its enough for two and delicious. And last we got their fried mushroom and zucchini combo, also delicious. Total cost with delivery $23.80, pretty good deal for us, Ill be ordering again.

This was recommended by our hotel. Small restaurant, not much appeal from outside. Ordering is at the counter. Large menu with lots of combo choices and sides. Reasonable prices. We had the tri tip and baby back ribs. Tri tip was thinly sliced and tasty. Ribs were juicy and flavorful. Coleslaw and mac salad very good. Nice service. Very simple decor, but you come for the food!

I’ve been attending this place with my father since the seventh grade and I’m in the twelfth grade now. I tell you, we’ve never been disappointed. At some times, I’ve gone with some other people and they seemed to enjoy it. The place could use some decorating of course, but this place is the go-to. The wait is short, it’s affordable, and they deliver as well. This place definitely deserves more recognition. When I eat from here, I always order a beef tri-tip plate. It’s very delicious. BBQ Land is my favorite place to get food from. My favorite fast-food restaurant is a different story but this isn’t necessarily a fast-food restaurant.They should build a BBQ World!

Was leary because of some reviews. Yes a little old, not much atmosphere, but food was excellent. Between 4 of us with combination plates the beef, pork ribs, chicken were excellent. All came with 3 sides. The macaroni salad probably came from Costco, but was good and what you got for the price was excellent. Reminds me of mom and pop restaurant just getting buy and not raising prices for a new paint job, but searving great food. Service was friendly and when my wife poured her dressing on her salad he came out and gave her a second one and we had not asked for more.

This place used to be above average. This time, the tri tip was pre cut, then grilled instead bbqd and then sliced. It made for dry meat. The fries were cooked in old oil. The beans and salsa were the best part. Maybe its hit and miss due to covid.🤷🏼‍♂️

I have never been so outraged! Absolutely horrible. The food I was served not only looked disgusting but the wings were missing half of the meat and they were literally the smallest wings I have ever seen. I have no clue how this place stays in business. I seriously feel disrespected and ripped off. BBQ Land should be ashamed to serve food the way they do. Prices are way too high. You couldnt pay me to eat what they served me. I do not recommend this place. Dont waste your money.

I have been coming here since I was a kid. I love it . awesome food ! However. Theres a few waitresses that are rude and will purposely be slow or pretend to not understand u. They come and go. The owners are excellent people. Super nice and once they were taking a while for some side orders so they gave me an extra side on the house! Love the atmosphere.

I hadnt been to this restaurant in 3 years. I went to Santa Maria for work with a friend. I told him that there was a bbq restaurant that I used to go to when I had Santa Maria as my territory. We went to bbq land and the baby back rib dinner was much better than I remembered it and I loved it back then. Get the chili con carne as a side. Yum! My friend said he would go there whenever he was in Santa Maria.

Stopped in because we wanted real authentic Tri Tip plate and thats what we got. We got BBQ sauce on the side so we could taste the flavor and the plate came with 3 sides. It was flame grilled over oak so it had a nice smokey taste. Would recommend. Too bad we dont live close would love to try there ribs.

I used to go here and they used to give out a good amount of food for a fair price. Now they barely give you any food and they overcharge you they increase the price so much now that its not even worth going there. Ordered the 4 baby back rib with three sides meal plus two beef ribs...First of all the Beef ribs smothered in BBQ sauce were so old and over cooked they were inedible. The baby back ribs were actually spare ribs also smothered in BBQ (yes I asked for the sauce on the ribs) were also tough and just tasted rancid...The macaroni salad was way past it’s expiration date and tasted like it. The Chili was canned and watery and finally the fries that I order extra crispy were for the most part soggy...! I had to throw the entire dinner away...Tried calling the place twice and of course they don’t answer...They won’t get anymore of my money and with food like this I’m sure they’re used to it...

We will never order that again it was dryed out and tasteless. We will never go back to this restaurant again. Also they they refried my french fries? So they were hard greasy and tasteless. I worked as a chef and I know when FF were refryed and the beef we ordered was not cut from the whole pc. And what they did is cut the pcs of beef and refryed it on the grille drying it out. I let them know I was from Texas and ordered some baby back ribs and tri-tip, hubby got the beef ribs with chicken, and we were not impressed.BBQ chicken needs BBQ sauce. Give patrons at least one cup of BBQ sauce, and please season fries after pulling them from the fryer.I know choices are limited for Santa Maria, but people told me this was the best. Perhaps Im too spoiled being a Texan.The only reason for two stars was the service. The food is mediocre, and priced too high for what you get.

This restaurant has come a long ways. They started off small and once the people demanded more the restaurant was the only other option. BBQ LAND not only prepares exceptional dishes, they understand the spirit of Santa Maria BBQ. The combination of great BBQ and keeping in with the traditions of Santa Maria BBQ, its no shock customers continue to return. What I really appreciate about BBQ LAND is they never waiver their integrity and invest in premium ingredients as well as cooking methods. No wonder theyve been around as long as they have. Take it from someone that takes BBQ seriously, if you want properly done BBQ, go to BBQ Land.In addition, Im confused why people complain about quantity. If you want to consume 2000 calories for $5, just go to McDonalds. I prefer quality over quantity any day of the week. Just saying..
