If you live nearby, you must visit this pasta shop. It feels like youre in Italy. You can taste delicious and authentic Italian pasta here. Next time, Ill visit with my daughter, who loves Italian food, and try the pizza. The pizza looks delicious too. Be sure to visit this place run by a friendly owner! Love this place!

Our first time at Fatto a Mano and we will be back! Marco, the owner, greeted us as soon as we walked in and helped pick the perfect homemade pastas to match our chosen homemade sauces. Both sauces were delicious and the pastas were fresh. We also tried a slice of the Margherita pizza and it was light, fluffy, and so tasty. The pasta shop is small with only a couple of tables, but the food was amazing and Marco’s hospitality was even better!

WOW, just amazing 😍 ... definitely one of my favorite Italian restaurants! You feel like you are in Italy. Marco & Arlene make you feel at home. You truly feel like you are eating with family; they greet you with love and make the most delicious food.My husband found this place a few weeks ago and brought some pasta home to prepare. I was immediately hooked. I had to go the next day to try it in person. A week later, we were biking in the area and decided to go again. I will definitely be going regularly, as they have seasonal items that I cannot wait to try. Here are some of the things we have tried:*Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe (At home & in person) - 12/10! It is so good. The sauce is velvety, smooth, and perfectly salty with the right amount of pepper. The pasta is cooked al dente, just perfect. The instructions to cook at home are so easy to follow.*Spaghetti Bolognese - The sauce reminds me of my grandmas cooking; it was very nostalgic for me to eat!*Asparagus & Prawns - This is a lovely combination. The prawns are very fresh, pillowy in consistency, and almost sweet in flavor. The asparagus sauce adds to the balance of the dish.*Pizza Margherita - The dough is crunchy and pillowy, with sauce and cheese and that fresh basil added on top... just wow. I usually like thin-crust pizza, but this one is just so good.*Lasagna Bolognese - mmm, it is so good! The right amount of meat, bechamel?, cheese and pasta sheets are so well cooked throughout!Fatto a Mano is truly a gem. If youre looking for authentic Italian cuisine with a warm, family-like atmosphere, this is the place to be!

Dining in is part of the experience. By the end of the night you will be part of the family as everyone in the cozy little shop makes you feel welcome. Dishes prepared with love and served fresh from Marco a few feet away. A delicious anniversary dinner. Will return for some to-go options since we are definitely going to have to try everything else on the menu. Dont forget the hot chocolate at the end.

A truly wonderful experience, seeing Marco work was something else. From his attention to detail, making sure each dish he puts out is up to his standards, to his cheerful demeanor, and the way he insists on calling Jonathan Giovanni!!! . It was easy to see that he loves what he does. Arlene and Evelyn were absolute delights, happy to answer any questions I had and happily making conversation with everyone. It felt like being among friends even though I was a total stranger. Im already looking forward to visiting again in the time I am here and trying whatever you recommend. From the bottom of my heart thank you for putting out quality work full of love.

The food is good, but it just takes way too long to get it. And forget about dining in, it takes at least 40 minutes to get your food (the place is small). Best thing is to order on the phone and get your food whenever they say its ready. Which varies considerably. Pity, because it has the potential to be a great restaurant.Post-response edit: yes, absolutely, the best way to run a business is not to accommodate your customers. Its to antagonize them! You said you can wait forever because youre human. Has it ever occurred to you that forever is actually quantifiable, and some people may not deem it acceptable? Im sorry I had the audacity to complain. In your world, its obviously something customers shouldnt be allowed to do. Are you the only fresh pasta shop in SoCal? Nope. And yet, Ive had absolutely no problem with any of the others.

Great food! Small family owned place with one chef, and only 3 tables. They only cook once the order is placed, so it takes a little longer, but worth the wait. The chef and his wife constantly interact with the customers, which makes the whole experience a lot of fun. Its not for those who want a quiet, intimate experience but who like great food and a full fun dining experience. Make sure you get there early because they get busy. We shared 2 different types of pasta with 2 different marinara. We also had the pizza and loved it all. Check out their website, and youll have a better understanding of what theyre about. We will definitely be going back!

Came all the way from Prescott Valley, Arizona to try this spot after being recommended to it by a client of mine.This place is amazing and the experience here is what eating at a restaurant is all about. You can feel the love in the food and the ambiance. Marco greets everyone as they come in and talks to everyone while he is cooking, even stopping to ask how the food is. It’s like sitting at a family dinner while your Uncle is cooking food.Speaking of the food, it’s amazing. Very obviously home made and it shows not only in presentation but in flavor.We will be back time and time again.

Made the pasta at home and everyone loved it. Big bonus was the complimentary Italian hot chocolate while we waited- so good! The pesto sauce and marinara were instant favorites. The sauce servings are very generous and we like light sauce so I used the left over pesto on salmon two nights later- which was also a hit. Will definitely be back!

Marco is the man! He was such a warm and sweet soul to speak too while in his restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious.My group ordered four dishes and each was cooked to perfection. It was a small, quaint place, but great service. They don’t serve pineapple on pizza or Alfredo sauce, but their food is still delicious. They served Roman style pizza that was small, but delicious. I highly suggest you get the Estiva pizza. I don’t like pesto, but this was unique and tasted great. The tomatoes were sweet. Would get it again when I come back. Also ordered the Bergamasca which was also good and looks aesthetic. You can choose any sauce you want for the pasta you like although they might give you a recommendation. I got the Cacio e Pepe with linguini pasta. You can’t go wrong with your order. Would come back when in the area.

An absolute gem of a place!!! This is authentic Italian and most definitely not California Italian. Sauce, Pizza and Pasta were spot on. But, the part that makes this over the top is the people who own the place; the nicest and most friendliest people ever. This is probably the most unpleasant experience Ive had. They belittle you and make you hold for 10+ minutes. Then when you have a chance to get your word in, they give you 3 seconds to decide. They rush and shame you for not knowing what you want right away. The food is fine, but its not amazing. Ive had better around LA. For the price, youre better off going elsewhere. Not to mention they take forever to prepare food (1.5-3hour wait). The restaurant is tiny and have barely any space, yet they have dishes that are dine-in only. The ambiance is lacking and service is non-existent if not backward. We have no idea what their problem is, but this is not a business to support and as a South Bay born and raised, I do not want this place in town cause theyre absolutely horrible.

Best Italian food and experience you’ll ever have!! The customer service is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. They remember your name and address you by it throughout your meal which is admirable and shows they truly care about their customers. Marco is a genius who has a very special gift. Even though he could have a huge business he instead works 6 days a week and makes every single meal himself to maintain control over the quality of his food. Not only is he a gifted chef, he is hilarious and kind which makes for a memorable and fun experience every time you’re there. This place is truly the best.

Truly the best italian food ive ever had in the states, and the best pesto ive ever had period. I got pappardelle with bolognese and margherita pizza and pesto on gnocchi. The pesto you could taste every ingredient it was sooo good and perfectly seasoned such that nothing overpowered the flavors of the pine and basil and whatever else was in there.The bolognese was amazing with plenty of meat as well. The pizza was also sooo good the dough was cushy and savory.Finally the service was awesome. The chef yells at you asking if it tastes good and says something if u arent confident about how much you like it, which i learned from the table next to us so we yelled WE LOVE IT ITS DELICIOUS. So much fun. They ask for ur name too so they can talk to u via name.Note that there are only 3 tables and maybe 4 window stool seats.

Best pasta to be had in the LA area.The shop is family run, and even just picking up my food I was greeted with the friendliest reception. Absolutely amazing. My boyfriend and I randomly came across this incredible hole in the wall after my boyfriend’s haircut next store and wow what a gem.The service was amazing, they go through each menu item with you and you never feel rushed. Now they tell you before you order that the wait is 45 minutes which we were completely fine with because it’s made to order and so so fresh! Waiting in the restaurant feels like being in an Italian family’s kitchen with how friendly and nice they are.We already have decided we are going back to try more items on their menu. I was hoping to love this place! Maybe the next time I go I will dine in. I have a feeling that part of the issue was the takeout. My favorite thing that we ordered was the aged ham pizza! The flavors were delicious. We accidentally received the buffalo pizza as well, instead of the buffalo salad ordered. The mozzarella it was delicious as well, but the pizza was Completely soggy. It was just a piece of bread with marinara sauce or pizza sauce on top that has been sitting for 10 to 15 minutes. The pesto pasta was also very flavorful. But the Bolognese was missing something. And the pasta was on the mushier side. Like I said I think I will come back but eat there and hopefully get the full experience.

Note - I am about to GUSH over this place, so be prepared.Tiny authentically Italian spot tucked away in a strip mall in Redondo Beach. Came here with a couple of friends on a Tuesday around 6pm and the place was bustling. Note that there’s only 3 tables inside with 3 counter seats, so it’s a very small place. A lot of people opted for takeout, since they don’t rush you to leave after your meal (very European!) and there’s not a lot of seating. Parking is available in the front in the shared strip mall lot. Credit cards accepted. You order/pay at the counter and then they bring your food out.Food-wise, everything was delicious. The food took about 40 minutes to come out and they let you know it upfront. The cacio e pepe sauce was incredibly creamy and the pappardelle noodles were perfectly cooked. We shared 3 slices of pizza among the 3 of us and they even kindly threw in a 4th slice to try. The dough was crispy on the outside and chewy in the inside. My favorite was the gustoes, which is a potato pizza.The service was immensely friendly and welcoming. They make you feel like family, and I noticed so many locals and repeat customers. Bravo to Fatto a Mano!

My sister introduced me to this spot. The food is DELICIOUS. The owner is the only one who cooks the food and is always in cheerful spirits and even sings while he cooks to add some good energy to the meals haha. I always thought Italian food to make me feel super bloated afterwards, but that wasn’t the case here. You can tell he uses quality ingredients. The pesto is amazing, and their hot chocolate is out of this world!!! MUST TRY THIS SPOT OUT!!!Seating is extremely limited so be prepared to wait if you expect to eat there. WHY did I not come here sooner! I’m Italian & I make my own pasta and sauce. I usually do not like Italian Restraunts.this restraunt is Fabulous! The pasta is AMAZING, I had Pappardelle with bolognese. The sauce couldn’t be better. Received a free Gelato (very creamy). It does take about 50 minutes to get your order so be prepared. PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE DEALING WITH HORRID MARCO.I have not been able to dine here, so I cannot comment on the quality of the food. Yesterday, I was having friends over, one of whom was pregnant, so I wanted to inquire about the ingredients in a couple of items before ordering. I want to EMPHASIZE that I DID NOT MAKE ANY SUBSTITUTIONS OR CHANGES TO ANY DISH as stated on the website. I also was completely fine waiting for them to take their time to make the food. My fault is asking them what happens if I can’t pick up the food immediately after its made, as I had other errands to run. And since they cannot give you an estimate of how long the food will take to prepare, I couldn’t plan around that. Apparently, asking questions is grounds for Marco to go psycho on you. He was very upset that I would not be able to pick up immediately after it’s prepared, and basically told me that I do not deserve to eat this food, as it is meant to be eaten right away, and that I should take home the raw ingredients, and prepare it at home if I cannot pick it up immediately.I understand he takes pride in his creation, and is VERY PARTICULAR about it, but this is on another level. Not all of us have the luxury of placing an order, and waiting around to pick it up as soon as its ready, especially when no time commitment can be given. I was willing to be patient, and was requesting if the same patience could be extended to me, since there was no timeline, and I had other things to do before the evening to get ready for dinner. Around 2 pm I called to place an order for a 6:30 pm dinner. This is when things REALLY WENT LEFT. I asked what was in the gnocchi, because his wife who was initially taking my order, mentioned it had a softer texture than usual, and if I would be ok with that? That is when she put me on hold, and had me speak to Marco. To this inquiry he said the following things, and I am giving VERBATIM QUOTES here:He told me that I am causing him frustration with all my inquiries and that my “friends will never be satisfied with this order…and he can guarantee that”. He even went as far as to say “these are not the people for me”, and that he would put me on hold to “think” before placing this order. He never took me off hold. I called back two more times only to be put on hold twice more. The fourth time I called it went to voicemail, which said I could place the order online. I went ahead and placed the order online, and soon after received an email that they canceled my order.Barring any mental illness, this behavior is not acceptable. I understand that he doesnt care about getting business, but kindness and humility costs nothing. I was really excited to try this place, but honestly, yesterday left a bad taste in my mouth.Again, I understand taking pride in your food, but in this day in age when it is common for people to be inquisitive about what is in their food for a variety of reasons, its mind boggling that they would have such an issue with someone ONLY INQUIRING which ingredients they use. I want to REITERATE I RESPECTED THEIR PROCESS AND NEVER ASKED FOR ANY ALTERATIONS. People have taste concerns, allergies, etc. In my case my friend was pregnant and very nauseous. I only inquired because of what his wife told me about the gnocchi.Fatto a mano boasts that their ingredients are fresh and handmade, but they are not the only place that does that. You’re not that special Marco. Please check your arrogance/narcissism. No matter how good the food is, it is not worth the headache and insult of dealing with Marco. I am sure Marco will have some petty response to this, but this as far as I will engage. I promise you everything I have written is 100% true, and an under exaggeration of what actually happened, as words cannot fully express this ordeal.

I called ahead to make sure I was able to pick up what I needed. The pasta(spaghetti) was a bit gummy even though I followed their instructions, but i want to be fair and it could have been how I made it? I made pasta aglio e olio for my dad and family on Fathers day. They did enjoy it but we all felt the same with the actual pasta. I will definitely try this place again and select a different pasta maybe.

I finally decided to try this place after driving by it so many times on the way to Redondo Beach. My girlfriend and I visited the restaurant on Sunday evening a little before 7pm and it was full of patrons. The owners greeted everyone and made everyone feel right at home. The gnocchi I ordered was fantastic. You can tell the owners love what they do, and it shows in the tasty food that they serve. Make sure you call and order in advance to avoid wait times during the busy lunch and dinner hours. It could take 30-45 mins for your food to come out.

Pasta was super yummy and fresh! We ordered broccoli and sausage with fettuccine and cacio e pepe with fettuccine. The only complaint would be that my husband and I both ordered at the same time and his dish came out around 7 min before mine did. I wrote a 4 stars review (below), this was not a bad review but the owner called us (scared me at first thinking how he knew my number) he told us we already knew that I have to wait for 45 minutes so why I gave him 4 stars? Yes I knew so I wrote so. I thought 45 minutes are a little longer than regular restaurant so that was the only negative point for me so I gave 4 stars. But he scared us and threatened us to re-think my 4 star review. 4 is not bad! And thats the review. He shouldnt force me to re-write my review. Thats MY thoughts. Nobody forces to choose my stars. He shouted over the phone for 50 minutes! And ended up with I dont want your business. Yes! Of Course Me too!!!!!! I kept tell him I never come back but he kept threatened us that my review hurts his business (again, I gave 4 stars not 1 star at the first time) and dont come back. Again, I SAID I NEVER COME BACK. He really pressing that a 4 star is same as 1 star so my review is malicious lol Is he serious? LOL He called me at night around 9pm and asked to talk to my husband. Then told him I am hurting his business so we shouldnt come back unless I change my mind. He threatened us, thats more than malicious than my review! LOL Other reviewers said/posted similar comments. He lost so many customers because he called and threatened good customers. I never recommend this restaurant anybody. He might lose his business sooner or later. I understand he wants to expand his business but he did too much. Nobody is going to give a 5 star review after getting a threatening call from the owner. I hope our (all 1-4 stars threatened customers lol) messages reached all new customers before you go to the restaurant.And now I hate his foods as well. All foods are not bad but I know better Romanian pizza at another restaurant!---All menus are amazing. Especially pasta. We love tomato sauce pasta. Definitely recommended!! But there is always super busy, you should expect at least 45 minutes. I cant wait 45 minutes at that site so I always call 45 minutes beforehand then pick it up. There are only 2-3 tables so you might not wait inside or at the site (maybe in your car) so I recommend calling them beforehand.

Delicious pasta, well worth the wait.Ordered online for an hour ahead but ended up taking 90 mins. The restaurant called me a few mins after placing the order to let me know it would take longer than the pick up time I had set. Service was really friendly.We got the Bolognese with pappardelle. Another one on the local food scene. Your search for high quality carbs has another stop. Super friendly service, not too much space to sit, the store smells great. Roman style pizza. San Marzano tomotoes for the sauce, Buffalo mozzarella, basil. The dough proofed for 72 hours. The crunch is spot on but the sauce makes it. Eat right away! Housemade pappardelle pasta with a bolognese sauce. Light texture with just enough sauce to coat.

Excellent food but the price is high, like youd pay at a high end restaurant where some of the cost is to cover for the elegant surroundings and fawning service. Only you dont get that here when ordering takeout. There really isnt a dining room. Nice people but the price point needs an adjustment. Glad we tried it. Its litterally a mom and pop, which we love. No regrets. Hard working people, sometimes, you just have to pay for quality and then decide if it provides value for yourself.

We came on a Saturday around 12:15 and was greeted by Arlene at the register. It was our first time here, and she was kind enough to explain each menu item and which sauce goes well with which pasta. We were told that if we chose to eat there, we’d have to wait around 45 minutes for our food, which was fine because other reviews told us to expect this wait time.We ordered the carbonara sauce with linguine, bolognese sauce with fettuccine, and a slice of margherita pizza. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. The texture of the pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauce fully coated the pasta.They also offered complimentary espresso for us while we waited. They have limited seating inside their store, so we came at a good time. They do require you to order before you sit at a table so it’s fair.Arlene and Marco provided exceptional service! They constantly came to check on our meal to ensure we were satisfied with the texture of the pasta and taste of the sauce. They really seem to care about the quality of their food.We finished our pasta and waited for a while, but our slice of pizza still hadn’t come yet. Arlene realized that they had made a mistake and forgot about our pizza. She was kind enough to let us know and even comped us for the pizza. The food here is amazing and so authentic! Not to mention the great customer service as well. All of the staff (chef, cashier, etc.) are extremely friendly and will ask how you meal is throughout your time there. They love talking with customers and try to remember or call you by your name. The chef often will take a short break from cooking or yell from the kitchen to make sure youre happy with your meal. It feels like a family there.The pasta texture is perfect and the sauces are flavorful. I prefer to eat in for the experience but many prefer to do takeout. If you come within 1-2hrs of normal meal times it will be very busy! There are only 3 tables and they let you take their time. They even finish your meal with some small samples of complimentary espresso, or gelato. I usually order the cacio e pepe or pesto but enjoy their Romagnola pizza too (almost like a fluffy foccacia without red sauce). The only downside is their wait time which can be an hour or more. The food is made from scratch though so you have to be patient! Its well worth the wait. Do not go in with an expectation for fast food.Overall, my favorite Italian food in the South Bay and maybe anywhere!

The fettuccine bolognese was top 10. It was comparable to my fav pappardelle bolognese at the Italian Homemade Company in Berkeley, CA. Pizza was Roman style--light bready crust: quite tasty. The dessert was rich and chocolately. Because it is a small place with 3 tables and a few bar-height seats, the wait can be over 30 mins at dinner time. But you can always order ahead and take it to the beach! Would definitely come back if I am craving authentic Italian food in South Bay!

Ive been told this place is amazing from my customer who is in the same plaza. Its a husband and wife team who run this place. Most people do take outs but my lady and I decided to eat there and what a treat it was. The chef is hilarious and full of personality, he couldnt be more stereotype of an Italian if he tried. We ordered The Pesto ravioli, Sea urchin spaghetti and a pizza. The Pesto tasted liked it was made 5 min ago, and the wife confirmed everything there is made from scratch. It certainly tasted it. The Sea Urchin got 2 thumbs up from my seafood loving lady. The pizza is very different from what you might expect but extremely tasty. Also, the couple really make an effort to know their customers, always asking if it was someones first time there and greeting their regulars on a first name basis. Definitely has that community vube place. Be forwarned though, it isnt cheap, our bill came out to $105, but again, this is one of those places where your taste buds will notice a difference in the quality of foods after the first bite. We Will definitely be coming back and bringing some friends with us. If you have the chance to eat here, DO IT and thank me later.

Amazing pasta and the best hospitality. We happened upon Fatto A Mano just driving by tonight. We tried the margarita pizza and espresso while we waited for our pappardelle and ravioli to go. Fantastic little italian joint! The food is very good and prices reasonable. the spaghetti with the tomato sauce was outstanding! You wouldnt think suck a simple dish can be so flavorful! The Buffalo Margarita pizza was fantastic! The slice is big, hearty, and filling. Ok a dude note, this place is VERY small with minimal sitting space.

Had to write this review before walking out of their door...yeah this is awesome Italian food. We got the lasagna, cacio e pepe linguine and pesto with gnocchi (favorite). We tried the romagnola and genovese pizza and those were amazing too. Marco cooking and Arlene running the register were real friendly and made it feel like we were eating in an Italian kitchen in their home. Love the hole in the wall places, always the best. Def coming back. Only a few tables so either get in and wait or take out.

Combined review based on2 separate visits. It went from a 5 to a 1.In 29 years living in the U.S., I’ve never had a lasagna nearly as good as the one I had tonight (July 4th, 2019). Marco is a phenomenal chef and a great guy. His place is legit!August 31, 2019:I promised my son I was going to take him to Fatto a Mano to try the best lasagna. So we went last Saturday at 1120. Met with Marco and he did not recognize me. He was deep in the weeds, extremely busy and working by himself. He told us he ran out of lasagna, so we ordered the fettuccine bolognese and spaghetti carbonara. Marco was working by himself!!!! I felt so bad I was thinking I should get in there and help him out. He had 5 orders ahead of ours and we waited 45 minutes. The bolognese was good, but the carbonara was a huge disappointment, raw pasta, cold sauce, raw pancetta, watery and bland sauce. Right before we left, an employee shows up.My experience went from a solid 5 stars in July, to a 1 star last week in August.It’s pretty sad that you had to sacrifice quality like that Marco. And it can’t be healthy for you either. Next time, you should open later when you have the required help you need. You can’t run a kitchen and take orders by yourself and expect to put out a consistent, high quality product.

The guys here were amazing and service was top notch. They even called and asked nicely why I gave a one star, which was totally a typo and my bad. The food was good, loved the pizza but found cacio peppe a little bland for my taste buds, might be more Italian authentic and found the serving size a little small, one entree not enough. Respectfully, I would like to make a constructive criticism. The pizza dough is extremely thick, would prefer half the amount used to make the pizza, it is kind of raw and sticky soggy underneath, the sauce needs some kind of seasoning, it is too plain to the taste, be easy on the sauce, otherwise the pizza becomes soggy. And that is how my pizza was very soggy, and Please, please be more generous when adding cheese, hardly found any on my pizza, and when adding arugula, do it sporadically, otherwise its too overpowering. I would give your food a second chance, I hope I wont be disappointed next time. I want to believe that you can make better pizza than the one I got yesterday. I was sad, because I had high expectations. I really, really wanted to try your pizza for the longest time, and when I did, I found myself not pleased. I do not want to say : La tua pizza non e buona. Because we all deserve a second chance.

The pizza is what you would experience if you were in Rome. Its a thick with toppings that do not overwhelm your palate. The pastas our made fresh daily on site and cooked to order in a tiny kitchen for your viewing pleasure. The sauce was also spot on.Friend got the gnocchi and it was delicious but the portion was a little too small for the price. It is LA though after all.Took about 30 minutes to make the pasta during a reasonably busy time. They were making all of the pasta to order during dinner service.
