Very impressed with this restaurant! There’s only one guy in there running everything from waiter to host to every role lol. 👨‍🍳He looked very very busy but still was able to take time to ask our names and get to know us. He also seemed to know a lot about his other customers. Super nice!!! The food was amazing omg!! They seem to have American Chinese and Chinese Chinese. Haha. The string green beans were so good. So were the meatballs. The honey walnut shrimp 🍯🍤had a little different tang to them than others I’ve had but they were delicious. Loved it all!! 🤤😍👌omg I didn’t even take a photo of the spicy wonton soup but that was so good. Amazing.

Loved the food, great service. The Mongolian beef had great flavor and lots of meat, Beef chow mein had a good mix of noodles, veggies and beef. Chicken fried rice had nice chunks of chicken. I would definitely eat here again.

Alabama native, LA local. I drive Lyft part time and my customer brought me to Irvine 2 days ago. I’ve had some congestion and not feeling well, so I was craving broth and comfort food. Google reviews and proximity landed me at Hai Master where I was quickly welcomed by Leo and given the menus for review. The menus were well organized with pictures for easy selection.I chose war wonton soup, beef and potato soup and pork/chive pan fried dumplings. I always order extra for leftovers to take to my real job at LAX.As I was waiting on my food, Leo and I were discussing my love for authentic Asian cuisine. He offered me complimentary chicken feet as I waited, chicken feet aren’t even directly on the menu but are boiled for their other dishes. (Put the chicken feet on the menu!)Leo and the owner and the cooks were all very welcoming and friendly and I very much enjoyed my time there.The beef and potato soup was my favorite, but everything was delicious. The collagen, fatty broth and spices soothed my throat and I felt better after eating it. I easily had 3 meals out of my dishes. Today I had my last meal at work- I added the dumplings to my war wonton soup. When I got home, I opened my last fortune cookie and I couldn’t have asked for a better ending to this wonderful dining experience.I’ll be back, thank you Leo!

Delicious, delicious, delicious! It is difficult to find good Chinese food that isnt muddled flavors drowned in brown sauces. So glad to discover Hais Master Kitchen so close to home. Clean full flavored dishes, the fresh vegetables are right amount of crispness, and meats so succulent. Everyone in my family loved the dish they picked! The prices and portions are really good, restaurant was spotless, and staff was friendly! Second experience was same, they consistently delivered a happy dining experience. I came back and ordered catering for 150 person high school event too and lots of folks wanted name and address for Hai, parents and students included! It seems to be a big hit with all tastebuds.

Where do I begin? My job is literally around the corner and decided to drop in for lunch. Why hasn’t this restaurant being talked about. The staff members are super kind and very friendly they are traditional. Let me start off by saying the restaurant is very clean. So hard to come by to a family owned restaurant where they are so friendly. The food is top notch the flavors of each dish is so freaking good. My partner was shocked cause he even said where did I find this hidden gem. The quality of the food is delicious tasty and my lord my stomach is watering thinking about their food. Their kung pao chicken good their mapo tofu is really yummy. They have Mongolian beef which is also super yummy. This is genuinely the best Chinese food I ever had. So hard to come by especially here in the oc. If you are ever in the area they do offer lunch specials and if you decided to eat in you should. Totally worth it. Not to mention many Chinese restaurants their food leaves you groggy when you come here your all happy and don’t have to worry about how heavy the food is it’s super light. This place is a gem. So glad I found it about a year ago. I have recommended my friends and family to come here. The food is delicious, and the service impeccable. They have a young man in the front, who takes great care of their customers, and loves to chat up the patrons. Such a breathe of fresh air! He deserves a raise! Definitely recommend this place if you are craving for authentic Chinese food!

I have been looking for good Chinese foods around Irvine & Laguna Woods area. Found a excellent place!! Their amazing lunch specials are best way to try out their foods. I loved all their foods and especially the friendly the host Leo. If you are spicy food lover like me, I recommend- Mongolian Beef, Orange Peel Chicken, Salt & Pepper Chicken or Shrimp, Mapo Tofu, Kung Pao Chicken and Spicy Fish Fillet.

This little hole in the wall located in a strip mall was discovered on Google when I moved to the area. Weve been back almost every week since, and Ive taken multiple co-workers here that have also returned on their own. Leo is a one-man show on the floor, taking orders and bringing out your food. Hes hilarious and really takes the time to get to know his customers. Sometimes it gets packed in here, so be patient!Food: Ive tried so many things on the menu, and these are my favorites - Beef Chow fun is my #1 go-to; Fried asparagus (YUM), the crab rangoons are so completely packed with crab; honey walnut shrimp has a hint of lemon and the shrimp are huge!; Steamed pork buns, if he tells you they just made them, do yourself a favor and order them; The potstickers are huge and come with a lot in the order; My husbands go-to is the Szechuan Chicken, it is delicious, but a little too spicy for me.Bonus points: They added beer to the menu this year! First impression was hit or miss.The dumplings were alright, but standard. The Dan dan noodles were sadly awful and had a texture as if they’d been microwaved.The saving grace was the Szechuan chicken which was crispy, hot, spicy. And even traveled well.The green beans were good as were the scallion pancakes.Also friendly service and quick preparation.

As someone who is annoyingly picky about Chinese food, this place absolutely nails it. The mongolian beef has a little kick to it, but didnt clear my sinuses. The xiao long boa was incredible (maybe moreso because we got the last order - sorry!). The crab rangoon actually had more crab and green onion than cream cheese, which sent me straight to heaven. I couldve ate them all day. I didnt catch our servers name, but he was so attentive and friendly. I would love to come back.

I brought my elderly Chinese mother, Laiping, to eat at this excellent Chinese restaurant. I live in Encino and Malibu and this food is worth the drive. very authentic chinese food. the owner is wonderfuL. the host, Alex, was very smart and attentive. Hai Master Kitchen has THE BEST spicy Mapo Tofu in southern California! And the delicious lunch specials are an incredible deal. The YuXiang Eggplant is absolutely fantastic, too. So is the Shui Zhu Rou. Come to think of it, ALL of the dishes I have had are just great -- true Chinese food taste from China. One of our familys favorite places for sure! The waiter is a really nice guy, too. Thank you all and keep up the great work!

Overall the food was excellent with one exception.We ordered black mushroom chicken.The flavor was excellent, but instead of black mushrooms, there were canned mushrooms. A big disappointment. The other dishes were excellent including War Wonton Soup, probably the best I have ever eaten and with large black mushrooms.We are looking forward to returning.

This restaurant was such a treat to discover. Our server was kind and attentive. The War Wonton Soup was hands down the best wonton weve ever had. I got the pork bao buns and they were so good. MUST ORDER THE SOUP! We will definitely be going back again. I didnt get the lunch special, but someone else did and there was plenty of food to eat there and they got leftovers. Overall, the food was delicious and was a lovely experience to find a new place to have lunch (or dinner next time). Thanks guys for a great lunch. :)

This is an excellent spot! We ordered the sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, beef fried rice, pork buns, and fried green beans. Everything was prepared just as shown in the pictures and tasted amazing. Our family of 4 was there on a busy Thursday evening and along with a busy dining room there were many pickup orders. Leo was an attentive and friendly server supported by someone just as efficient in the kitchen. We are visiting family for the holidays and the youngest made me promise to come back next year!

Restrictions to my diet and taste were exceeded so my first visit is also my last. This is one of the best places in the area for Chinese food. The food is delicious and authentic. We ordered six dishes: the house braised tofu, orange chicken, steamed fish in house sauce, mushrooms and bok choy, house fried rice, and beef chow fun. Each dish was very tasty. The proportions are family-sized and the prices are reasonable. The entire order took only 20min to make. We will definitely order from here again.

This is not your typical Chinese restaurant, they serve northeast Chinese cuisine and Szechuan cuisine. Weve been there a times and have ordered different dishes each time, and each dish is amazing and full of flavor. If you want typical Chinese restaurant food they have them too, but for me, I want to get their specialities. You gotta try this place, youll love the intense and bold flavors of each dish.

My granddaughter referred me to this restaurant. Amazingly authentic Chinese restaurant. The server is friendly and knowledgeable . I liked her recommendations, such as Juicy pork dumpling, wanton in spicy/ non spicy sauce, steamed sole, sauted chicken with vegetables, pork belly with vegetables ... Too many to list here. I have a class in Laguna Hills every Tuesday which ends at 4 pm. I go over to Hai Master Kitchen for dinner after. Usually not crowded at 4 pm.

O M G! What an hidden treasure in Lake Forest Area.My friend told me about this Chinese restaurant that the owner creates his own Omakase style Chinese food, when I heard about the story I couldnt believe it. I mean I work for a Chinese radio station as a food channel host and I heard about Chinese Style Omakase but not like everything you want and any cuisine you wanted. Never heard anything like this before. If a chef can cook like this it truly shows how skillful he is.So we ordered his beef tendon stew hot pot with varieties of fresh vegetables as our main course. When we arrived everything was ready to be served. The hot pot was a special order from Japan, it looks trendy and high quality. The special Chopped Peppers from Hunan was the main ingredient of the soup base. The tendon melted in my mouth, the side order of bamboo roots are definitely not from the can.I enjoyed every single moment of this meal. I couldnt stop eating it until I was super stuff and couldnt even move any more. The apple juice in the cute little fat bottle was just right to compliment the hot pot.The server Nancy was detail oriented, super nice and very attentive. Big shout out to her.There are way too many dishes on the menu that I want to try from northeastern of China and other area. Everything looks so good. Usually we have to go to Irvine for authentic Chinese food. Wok & Dumpling is the most authentic place in South OC to get Szechuan Chinese food.Some of our favorite dishes are the juicy pork dumplings, dan dan noodle, and spicy wontons. They also sell frozen dumplings and buns, which are great for breakfast or a quick meal at home.When they first opened, service was way too slow with staff that had no clue what they were doing. But now theyve hired some new professional staff, and service has improved a lot. The owners do not speak English very well, but they are really friendly and nice.

The food here is excellent. It is an authentic Chinese restaurant located in south O.C. which is rare. As with most authentic joints, dont come in expecting great service and atmosphere though.Dont judge their food by the fast food that is prepared and selectable at the counter for carryout. That is your typical panda express style food. The real gems are on the menu.We ordered quite a bit of food and it was all delicious. The ja jang myeun was a wonderful take on the Korean black spaghetti. It was meaty and flavorful in a Chinese way instead of the Korean black sauce. The beef noodle soup was also very flavorful and the noodles were cooked just right.All the dumplings here are excellent but the best are the Shanghai dumplings. No need to go all the way to Din Tai Fung now. The key to beating the dumplings is to make sure not to let it break open and the juices escape. Handle them delicately, dip into he vinegar and get a piece of ginger and eat it whole!Pro tip: you can purchase bags of frozen boiled dumplings to take home. Boil them until they float and then pour in a cup of cold water so there dumplings sink and wait for the water to boil and dumplings to float. Do this three times and the dumplings are ready to serve.

Boo boo Woks Grill. When I lived in Laguna Hills I was craving some simple takeout Chinese Food. I did not expect great service or high quality food, but Woks manage to fail on both categories.When I first walked in with my friend, some asian lady looked at us and walked away. After finally finding some kung pao chicken there wasnt enough left so I asked how long will it take to make. The guy said dont worry only about 10 minutes. I thought perfect I will have some fresh food. The server was refilling the entrees that were displayed. I noticed he was bring out some fresh fried wings. I asked the man can I get that as my second item, because I had ordered a combo and was waiting for the first item. The lady came back out and said NO YOU CANNOT HAVE THAT. I was thinking wtf?At this point I was thinkin about leaving and going next store to get Mexican food. My friend and I were still shocked about what happend. Fifteen minutes, later when my first order was done we were still waiting for some spicy chicken to finish, but the man offered to give us twice the chicken because it took a while. We thought sure awesome. After checking out and returning home. I noticed he did double the order gave twice as much teryaki chicken (i didnt order that style) with no sauce. As I ate the nasty TC I have ever tasted. I thought forget it. I stopped eating and left the food and decided to toss it. I was so displeased I didnt even think about how the rest tasted or the fact that I hate wasting money.WORST Restaurant ever Award! Run Run and never come back. Dont even park near this restaurant.

We had to wait over fifteen minutes for one dish and they didnt have any other custom around. And they made mistakes on our order twice. Plus theres strong sewer smell outside and inside the restaurant. Horrible service and a horrible environment. That was the end of it never want to go back again.
