Homey Skewer in San Jose

Definitely the best in the area. They have a great amount of beer you can choose from. Great place to hangout at! Great food, service...I really enjoyed the Chicken skin appetizer, the intestine, lamg and oysters! Will make this one of my regular spots. Very comfortable and relaxing restaurant.

Homey skewer is indeed a homey place with only 5-6 tables. The prices are reasonable; I wasnt afraid to order a little more and the bill ended up being less than any other skewer place I went to in the last 2 years.You know how some skewer places seem to flavor their skewers with one overpowering spice? Not here! The skewers are well-seasoned; sweet, spicy, and savory. Relative to other places, the beef tendon and chicken skin are standouts. And I dont even like tendon that much but the one here is particularly palatable.There was only one server wearing a Stussy shirt when we went. He was very friendly and asked us if we needed any introduction of the menu, named each skewer as he brought them over (they are not always so clear), refilled our waters, and checked in on us during our meal.

Discovered this by accident. Small space. Friendly service.Tried the following items:* Roasted yellow croaker* Roasted green beans* Roasted okra* Beef skewer* Lamb Kidney* Chicken Heart* Shrimp* Grilled beef tongue* Fried Beef/10They were all spiced and spicy 🔥. Heavy on the cumin, yum, and medium hot.Also these not spiced:* Bread* egg fried rice

My favorite is the lamb, it’s so tender and tasty!The waiter is very considerate and friendly ! We went there about once a month cuz we lived far away.

Nice food. kidneys beef tongue shrimp okra chicken pork I ordered alot and everything was really nice, great herbal spice rubs. open late. people who complain about the service must have wanted some song and dance. these guys work hard and give you good food quickly and werent rude. what more could I ask for?

Its probably one of the worst skewers places in SJ.The meat tasted old and stale. Came out cold. Water was tap water; unfiltered. Didnt bother to try other food there because my group was interested in skewers. Vegetarian skewers were better. Of course u cant screw that up.We arrived at 9PM and it wasnt crowded at all. Service was subpar; we had to constantly ask for napkins, water, and beers.

The food comes slowly. And it was kinda cold. The lamb skewer was not well cooked and tasted not good. It was raw inner.

Did not meet the expectation for skewers. If i am really hungry and do not have much options to choose from then i will go here.
