I used to like the lamb curry but when I got my food yesterday, it tastes totally different. They used sauce from some other dish and just put lamb meat in it and heat it up. You no longer toast the stew of the slow cooked meat.I won’t be coming back any time soon. I am going to agreed on some of the negative comments about this place. The cost-cutting measures is going to hurt their business.

This is not a biryani. It’s just a white rice with raw turmeric. Worst biryani ever tasted. Not any smell of single biryani’s masala. This was full of bell peppers.

Ive loved this place for the last two years. Its been fairly priced, tasty and my favourite.However, the last two times I picked up food from here I had an awfully disappointing experience ( the last time was today). I feel the need to share my experience and urge the people thinking about getting food from here to look for an alternative.During my penultimate visit, the cardboard container with the pakoras was mushy and uncooked. I couldnt eat them and I took this issue as an occasional mistake.Today, I showed up at the time specified by the online order. The person behind the counter did not seem to understand me or have any idea of an order with my name on it. Eventually he told me to wait five minutes. After good 10 min. of wait, watching other orders being deliver, seen my pakoras put in the microwave and subsequently fried them (they were already cooked), watch the guy behind the counter helping with the cooking and pushing my food into the container with bare hands ( same hands used to accept cash); I received my order without any apologies nor the sauces. At home I tried to eat the burned pakoras. I felt disrespected and they managed to put me off curries (I didnt think this would be possible). I obviously made a mistake with this place. So please dont waste your time or money. Avoid it!

After being their loyal customer for 10+ years, I finally got pictures and write down my review.Their cheese Naan is heavenly. I don’t lie. It is so good that I probably get high eating cheese naan. That’s why I never got a chance taking a picture in so many years. Why now? Because I went during Ramadan, and Naan was ready 2 minutes before sunset. Yay picture time finally! Go enjoy their cheese naan. This is the only place that serves cheese naan like this in the Bay Area.

The food is great! You place your order and other drinks and tableware is self service. Really a pleasant experience. We had appetizer and naan bread along with goat buryani and chicken dish, all very delicious.

I love Pakistani / Indian food, I’m sorry but this by far the worse Chicken Tikka Masala and Biryani I ever had. Maybe the chef had a bad they . Chicken Tikka Masala taste like it’s missing a lot of ingredients and the portion is small for the price . Chicken Biryani is soggy and barely have that Biryani taste

I was hesitant to write a negative review, this place came highly recommended. However I threw out everything I ordered after trying a couple bites. The samosas were only filled with potatoes (no peas or veg) and had a somewhat unpleasant spice mix. The chicken tikka was tough and sweet, the aloo gobi was also not good to my palate.

My favorite place to experience Lamb Tikka Masala in the Bay Area! They Masala Chai is also so tasty!I didnt like Chicken Tikka Masala though, chicken is too dry. for CTM, I usually go to Zareens in South Bay. But they have Chicken Tandoori, which is so soft and delicious, and you can order Tikka Masala sauce separately and enjoy the chicken with masala and garlic naan.

Fantastic food all around. The chicken coming out of the tandoor is something to sing home about, the tikka dishes hit all the right notes and the biriyani packs an amazing punch. Definitely going to come back for another round of eats!

I really want to give this place five stars. It was almost perfect. I love indian food so I am open to a variety of styles and dishes. However, there was a single glaring fault that makes it lose a star.The samosas were excellent: crispy, pleasantly spicy, and full of flavor. Mint and tamarind sauces paired deliciously but werent necessary to enjoy them. They were just an added bonus.The naan was great. Crispy but still fluffy, generously stuffed, and huge. It was like getting two naan for the price of one.The lamb karahi was ALMOST perfect too. It had a ton of flavor, a great amount of spice, and plenty of bigs chunks of lamb that were so tender you could part them with a spoon. It also tasted like half a salt shaker fell into the sauce. It was closing in on being far too salty to eat. It took me three sittings to get through it all. It WAS delicious though and worth it.A little more careful with the salt next time and I will absolutely change this to a 5 star review. I want it to be 5 stars. It was all so delicious and carefully prepared otherwise. I am legitimately disappointed there was anything wrong because it feels like such a silly error to make with such excellent food.Im gonna give The House of Curries the benefit of the doubt and call it a fluke, an unfortunate accident where a hand slipped.I would still highly recommend this place. But if I notice oversalting again, I will have to lower it to 3 stars. So close to perfection.

Heatphobes beware!We ordered MILD palak paneer, biryani and chana masala. Theres visible pepper oil in the sauce, first clue.If youre like me, those pepper oils are painful and prevent being able to taste anything. Couldnt enjoy it, had to eat something else.The cheese naan was decadent.

Ill start this by saying Ive only ordered lamb curries... I only ever order lamb and goat curries.Ive been going to House of Curries since they opened on Solano. Ive never been disappointed. For me what makes them a solid 5 stars instead of 4 is the consistently high quality of the cooked lamb. Their lamb is never overcooked or dry or tough, or if it has been I cant remember when. In my experience this isnt something that a lot of places do consistently well. They also also are generous with the amount of lamb, which is always a plus. (Reading other reviews this may only still apply to ordering in person or on the phone. If you didnt know most ordering apps take like 20% of the check, few restaurants have the margins to support that.)One of the things that makes them unique, may also turn people off. Their cheese naan uses lots mozzarella instead of paneer. Its fantastic. I call it pizza naan :) If youre ever torn between pizza and curry, go here.Otherwise, theyre a solid 4 stars. I think most Indian food in the bay is. I say that even though they are my probably one of my favorite places to eat. To me their spice blends are good, but not stellar. Theyre a little afraid of heat, but thats probably because their customers are. Also their chai is marginal.Anyways, theyre worth your time. I cant think of many local places that are notably better.

Ordered the Chicken Jalfrezi with a side of Naan for takeout. The chicken was very tender and perfectly stewed in a spiced tomato curry, and the naan was fluffy and sopped up the curry nicely.

Food was always of a very good standard, recently its become hit or miss. Sometimes you get a good meal other times its bland. I had chicken tikka masala. Chicken was nice and tender but the masala sauce tasted like tomato soup!They need to step up in the consistency of their food before they start losing customers. There are plenty of Indian restaurants in Solano Ave to choose from.

I was honestly so disappointed. I love Indian food and was expecting at least decent quality from this place. That is not what I got. The vegetable biryani was flavorless and OVERCOOKED. I would bite down on hard spices/ rice and hurt my teeth! The saag paneer was watery. And the most disappointing part was the tikka masala. The chicken was dry! How does chicken marinated in curry get dry? It was almost impressive how bad it was. The only thing I would say wasn’t terrible were the samosas- they weren’t great but at least they were ok.

Id usually give food this good, five stars but read on.....Thanks to the miracle of GrubHub, I was able to order some food for my co-workers and I.I found all the dishes, fresh, hot, (the Naan was a real treat) and tasty!The single Tandoori chicken breast was great, and the Chicken Tikka Masala, wonderful BUT, three chunks of chicken in a pint of sauce, does not a meal make.I (and everyone else I am told) wind up with a dish that is 12% chicken, and 88% Sauce. Everyone calls it Tomato soup.Can you work on that please?Other than that its a great spot, and the prices are fair.Thanks!

Okay. Good food. Lots of it. My husband loved his lamb vindaloo. I was less impressed. Naan seemed somewhat dry. Chanda masala a bit uneven in terms if spice level within the dish. Would ordinarily give this a 4 star but the lack of parking (and only one disabled spot on the whole street) required me to walk four blocks. Wont be back. Not a place for anyone with a severe disability but then the same could be said of anyplace on the whole street.

I used to stay around here and I would often come here for some Masala and vindaloo. Garlic naan as well.I really enjoyed their food. The times Ive gone, they have been super busy and the service times could be a few more minutes.Great staff,Great food and for a good price.Portions are good too.

This quarentine doesnt make anyones lives any easier, and neither does this place when ordering via Uber Eats. Ordered Vegetable Biryani, Raita, Prawn Tandoori, Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, & Prawn Vindaloo. We ordered for pick up and they had missed the Chicken Tikka Masala. Calmly at first, we called and mentioned that they had missed that one dish and immediately told us to come back and pick it up. During these times we dont like to step out of the house often due to the order and asked if they could deliver the missing dish to us since it was a large order. Told us that it was not their problem and that we should order take it up with Uber Eats delivery driver (even though we had picked it up prior to calling). Did not even offer a refund for this inconvinience. Incredibly rude. Frusterated at this point, we decided wed come back for another day because they refused to take responsibility for the missing dish that was deemed essential to our order and our family. Not sure if Id be willing to come back to this place when they refuse to take responsibility on their mistakes.

The House of Curries has a variety of curries to choose from at a reasonable prices.Patrons should eat their dishes with the naan to balance out the strong flavors of the curries.Its a bit of cramped place but its great to be outside when its hot. The restaurant seems to be in a good place to invite a cool breeze.

Ordered through uber eats today. Tica Masala had exactly two tiny pieces of checken in the whole container. I could not believe this first. So we just bought a huge amount of plain source, no meat. Its quite expensive for a sauce and it was not our intention to have a vegetarian meal!
