More and more disappointed by the recent visits!I used to go there for lunch almost every weekday before 2019. They had so many options back then. All the hot food and soup tasted delicious. Now their food are so boring. And they didn’t follow their soup schedule. It says on the schedule that they would have beef and barley soup for Thursday. I went there for the soup on Thursday and they didn’t have it.Their staff used to be all very nice and helpful. Not the same anymore. I purchased lunch there today. And they normally have Ground Cayenne Pepper on the seasoning table for customers who purchased cooked food from them. They don’t have it today. I asked the staff at the juice bar next to the seating table. She told me to ask the staff at deli. I don’t want to leave my purchased food out there. Then I asked another staff who’s working with the carts next to me. He told me I should have asked the staff at the juice bar and she would get it for me. I told him that staff didn’t help and asked me to go to deli department. He looked confused and went to get the chilly for me. It was nice of him. But the first staff who’s supposed to help didn’t. Also their cashier used to be nice and greed to the customers. Now they just chat with each other.

Best place to shop for organic food. Best produce you will find. No apeel on the fruit. They have a excellent small bakery. The no flour chocolate cookie is to die for. Wonderful soups. You have to get there early otherwise its gone. They dont bring out more.

Great place to shop for whole foods. Its a smaller store but has a variety of choices. I prefer to shop here than a Whole Foods Market. The staff is also very nice and helpful.

I go to Jimbos multiple times a week. The staff is always insanely friendly and no matter what your day is always better. The store is extremely clean. They always have a great selection from your regulars all the way to stuff youve never heard of. Great beverage selection always fresh fruit the absolute best place to buy flowers do not go anywhere else to buy flowers before checking prices especially Vons. I cant say enough about my neighborhood Jimbos

I am at this store nearly every day- it has become our favorite! Fresh salad bar, the store is kept clean and the produce is usually pretty fresh. The cashiers are mostly friendly besides one shorter gal with long brown hair- but it doesn’t keep me from being a customer!

Jimbos is definitely my go-to grocery store for fresh produce and grab-and-go food. They carry organic produce, and everything is always fresh. I find that their produce stays for a while in the fridge, so I dont waste much. They have a hot soup and salad bar, as well as grab-and-go options that are perfect for a light meal. I eat mostly vegetarian, so I love their Tofu fresh rolls with peanut sauce and veggie sushi.

It has taken me a few years to write this review. The reason I say this is because I have been holding out hope that Jimbos and their produce policies would change. Over the years I shopped at the Del Mar, 4S Ranch and Escondido stores and I see a repeating pattern of low quality produce. To charge customers a premium to get 100% organic and non-GMO is one thing but that is no excuse to sell sub-par quality at those extreme prices.So, this morning I went to Jimbos to do our weekly shopping trip and of course, I see exactly the same old (bad) cucumbers sitting in the cooler that I saw a week ago (see picture). This is just the beginning. Last week, I went to grab green beans out of the cooler and ended up grabbing a handful of slimy beans. You see, they dont rotate their stock as they should. The fresher stuff was on top of the old and slimy stuff at the bottom. They obviously dont employ basic food rotation practice at their stores: first in, first out. It goes on. I shouldnt have to spend 10 minutes examining all of the berries in a container because youve been burned so many times. This is unacceptable.The practice extends to the deli area as well. I cant tell you how many times Ive seen mold on the falafels. I bought some from the 4S Ranch store, brought them home and then was super disappointed. From that point on, whenever I wanted falafels, I would check them first. Every time I did, they were moldy.Ive witnessed these practices and sub-par produce at all three of the stores Ive mentioned. Since it is a pattern, I will extrapolate that this is due to top-down management decisions in order to maximize profits from already inflated prices. I think Mr. Jimbo should be embarrassed if he wasnt embarrassed enough by the rat infestation in his Del Mar store a few month back. If you dont believe me, contact the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health.If only Whole Foods was closer to my home, I would be shopping there exclusively.

If youre the target market for places like Whole Foods, then this place is just for you; however, if youre content with Ralphs or the like, then this place is not just for you lol. Prices for ordinary items are generally 1.5-2.0x more than a typical grocery store. I stopped by to get some mints that I liked, but besides that I cant see myself coming here. Nothing against the store, but a dollar goes further at other places.

Delicious healthy fast food options in their deli and green drinks like Emerald Bliss. Also, amazing peanut butter pie! Produce is fresh and some locally grown and unique. Native San Diegan that has been enjoying this place for about 20 years now. Other Jimbos stores are great too, like 4S Ranch!

Lots of great products at ridiculous prices. Customer service is APPALLINGLY BAD! I had an issue with customer service earlier this year. I went to the Jimbos site and sent a message to the Escondido store. Week later -NOTHING. I sent the message again - NOTHING. Apparently they dont even bother to read email messages, much less reply. So not only is the in-store customer service terrible, the online service is just as awful. Thankfully there are many other excellent, less expensive options nearby beside Jimbos.

First time in the store since moving to town. The overpriced fruit did not smell like fruit, the butcher counters were average looking and way overpriced. The prepared food, which is what I went for, looked average but priced fairly. Got the cooked salmon home and it was full of bones, extremely dry and had zero flavor. Even the cat never came around to check it out. The staff, not too friendly; no hello, no did you find everything you were looking for, nothing. I won’t be back and do not recommend. Oh, the toiletries smelled amazing walking by.

Pro-Tip: Some of the items at jimbo’s are also for sale at Sprout’s (1 stop light away!) at about $0.50-2.00 cheaper overall.They do stock frog hollow farm, which grows the most amazing stone fruit and is 100% worth a splurge. There’s also some good niche products, like Zuma Valley Coconut Cream.However, the average shopper here is SO ENTITLED, it’s jarring - and I moved here from one of the most expensive cities in the world, where we’re all entitled. On a regular basis, the other shoppers here make it a miserable experience for me and the employees. I can tell the employees are miserable and dislike most the clients. It’s a bummer! I find that the Middle Aged women shopping here should be avoided at all costs! (I’m sorry, 2022 hates me for saying that, but it’s my experience!) They will insult you and literally follow you to your car to continue their diatribe because you got in line before them…?Today one of the other shoppers CALLED THE POLICE on me! And FILED A FAKE REPORT saying I left a 2 foot scratch on their car when the empty, miniature cart slowly drifted into their 8 year old Jetta (license plate ends with 666). Luckily, Jimbo’s employees were kind to me while this psycho was harassing me. Also, luckily the police found of this person was lying (and SCRATCHED THEIR OWN CAR) because I recorded a 360° of their car.Basically, love Jimbo’s, hate these heauxs.

Awesome grocery store that provides organic -- vegan --gluten free -- products. The bakery is really good as well, they can make special orders with only a 24-hour notice. The juice bar is excellent with tasty organic fruits and vegetables! We come here every day at least for lunch or dinner. They start serving hot food around 11 a.m.

For someone working hard on reducing my carbon footprint, they had a ton of bulk bins available and made it super easy to bring my own container. all of the staff were super nice and helpful. No one seemed bothered having to do the extra steps of weighing my containers and even had more containers available for purchase. the store was super clean and tidy and neatly organized.my only complaint was the spice bins only had plastic disposable spoons to scoop product. no reusable ones.

I was looking for dried lavender, I called a few different stores that put me on hold and never came back on the line. Jimbos answered the phone, knew they had the product and even told me where to find it in their store. Great customer service. The store was clean, staff was friendly. Even the restrooms were clean. If you bring your own bag you can get 5 cents off your purchase or give 5 cents to a charity of your choosing.

I was already in the mood for a ribeye, when my girlfriend mentioned that Jimbos had Wagyu steaks. Because I know they are hard to come by, I made a beeline over to Jimbos. After a brief wait at the meat counter, Derrick( sorry if I butchered the spelling) thanked me for waiting & asked how he could help me. I told him and we had a friendly, yet professional conversation regarding wagyu steaks, Omaha Steaks & meat prices. He was super nice & Im looking forward to my next purchase of steaks. Had a bad vibe as soon as I walked in. One worker looked up from shelf stocking then just looked away with a sort of bored look.Prices are expensive, labeling is misleading. I looked at signs above the aisles looking for Tart Cherry Juice, aisle 6 but the sign showed nothing of juices yet there was an entire section of juices. Had to ask an employee.Went to order a sandwich and the only bread they had was sour dough, panini and thats all........a sandwich area!!!! All types of sandwich choices 2 - 3 types of bread only.The server making sandwiches seemed annoyed and looked away when informing me that extra meat was 2 dollars more. It took almost 20 minutes for my wifes egg salad sandwich......no one else ordered at that time.Cashier was busy talking to another employee (while ringing me up)about TV shows.The deviled eggs were not good, not very tasty and look at my picture of the eggs, flavor topping on some and none on the others....At the bakery counter we approached and after 5 minutes or so, not even an acknowledgement.Terrible customer service, expensive food items, just not worth it. Bad management, lack of leadership. Wont be going back again.

Like all gourmet health food stores, not a cheap spot to shop. From vegan baked goods to a consultant in the supplements this is the local version of whole foods. Ive been shopping here for 14 years and over the years have come to really rely on Jimbos to provide the best produce and health food options. They have recently done some great improvements inside, the salad bar is gorgeous now as is their hot and cold Deli cases. The quality and selection of their ready-made foods (prepared in their on site kitchen) is fabulous. It makes eating healthy possible without the hassle and time it takes to cook at home.

Prices are competitive with the other big stores that focus on the similar demographic, meaning that you can expect to shell out a bit more than the non organic products. Angel the assistant deli manager was extremely friendly and welcoming. He explaine all my options for sandwiches, combos, salad bar ect. Ultimately I ordered hot food for now, and the Lone Star sandy for later. Both were spectacular!!! Then I decided to get a fresh veggie juice made. The wonderful shorter dark haired angel made the best green juice for me and was very helpful in assisting me with the tuna and egg salad. I dont know that Ive ever got such service at a grocery store before! Go Jimbos!!

I’ve noticed lately food at this store has been sitting longer and is not as fresh. I might also mention every time someone refills the hot food items they take the tray out, and water from the heating pan below drips over the food in the pans. In the past month I’ve purchased precooked chicken that is still pink on the leg and thigh bone and the temperature in the heating display case drys out the food. About a year ago they had a great manager who was sent to the new store downtown. Really miss the quality he brought to this store. Until things shape up I will drive to another Jimbos location.

I cant remember the floor guy that has happened to help me find numerous items that I couldnt even think of where they would be.
