First off the guacamole was 5 star. Order that.Secondly, I ordered the meal off the front of the menu and was not disappointed. The steak was thinly sliced which is a bit deceptive from the photo but it was seasoned beautifully and cooked medium rare.The rest of the food I crushed before taking a photo. The dessert was a churro with honey which was delicious AF.

Food was absolutely amazing and perfectly portioned as well. I had Saras enchiladas! Would absolutely recommend it to a friend and will be returning next time Im visiting. Seems very friendly and family owned.

I ordered take-out once from here. From what I remember, it was decent food. However, what really stuck in my mind is that I ended up getting added to some kind of list that was sending me unsolicited advertisements.Because of the advertisement issue, I have not come back, despite frequently staying in the Hampton Inn nearby.

Paying extra for a chips/salsa refill is kind of sad, but the Mexican food is very good here.Los Portales is solid Mexican food in the area. They are inexpensive compared to other food options in the area. I’ve tried the Los Portales Super Burrito and Margarita. The wet-style burrito was delicious and filling— yes, loaded with meat. The sauce seemed tomato-based and had a slight kick of spice.The menu was extensive and it was hard to choose. I was happy with the burrito and margarita. There is one complimentary basket of chips and salsa. The downside is having to pay for a refill of chips!They are family oriented and the service is great. Parking is very easy in the lot as it’s in a nearly abandoned plaza.

I was visiting for the first time and really enjoyed the service. Everyone was friendly, the food came quickly, and the prices were absolutely reasonable. I enjoyed Saras Enchiladas and can wholeheartedly recommend them!

Probably the best fish tacos Ive ever had. They were able to seat a huge group of us without having a reservation and were able to quickly take orders and serve food way faster than we expected. Everything was very good and all had a great meal.

Wonderful food! The Sara platter and the Camarones A La Diabla are great. I highly recommend this place and will alway eat here when I’m in town! The staff is super nice and accommodating, beer is cold and the Michilada’s are on point.

Amazing place!!! First off, Sal the owner, is very involved in his restaurant (you don’t see that often nowadays). As soon as you walk through the door you feel like family, and the food is really good and authentic. We decided to have my moms memorial dinner there (for roughly 24 people), it went off without a hitch. Sal was very accommodating of all our requests/changes etc. We are really grateful to Sal, his daughter Sarah, and all Los Portales’ waitresses. We are forever grateful! Please go try this place…. You won’t regret it!

The house burrito I ate was very average. The beef tasted like something that Id get in a school cafeteria, and the salsa was very watered down. The price is too high for food of this quality. My meal did not hit the spot :(

I was not greeted at the door by anyone after walking in and being noticed by employees. The salsa was watery and no flavor I ordered the camarones ala diabla and brought me a plate so hot waited 15 minutes to cool down. Terrible service will not eat here again

Was very weird. I thought San Francisco was a very diverse location but all I saw were uppity white people walking all around there. There were no black people at all, nowhere, and only other races, Hispanic and Asian, were food cart servers. Is that why San Francisco is so liberal? Just to ensure only white people go to their nicest areas? Do better!

I decided to try Los Portales after getting a tip from a Latina desk clerk at a hotel across town. It was not a fancy restaurant, but the food was delicious. I ordered their Mole with chicken, and it was excellent. Their rice was light and fluffy and even the refried beans were tasty. We closed the place up, but they didnt rush us out and graciously thank us as we were leaving. Ill be back the next time Im in the area.

Dont waste your time on the chicken chimichanga unless you just want chicken inside of a tortilla that is fried with no flavor and about the size of a tampon. For $16, I expected a whole lot more. The owner was kind and did allow me to order something different. I replaced it with a beef enchilada since the chicken was so dry and for the price really expected there would be two of them, but there was not. There was only one and that seemed rather expensive for the size.The owner/chef suggested I read the menu more closely so that I know exactly what comes on the chimichanga next time. Gee Thanks! I have never eaten somewhere where the prices are bit high and have such little return for my money. I always have leftovers when I go to Mexican restaurants ... Not this time, I was very disappointed.

Had lunch here, and I can say I wont be coming back. My coworker ordered a chicken salad, and when it came out. It literally looked like they just got a head of lettuce, and chopped a few pieces onto a plate, and served the smallest portion of chicken on top, and that was the chicken salad. I ordered the enchilada plate, and all my food was cold, and was the sauces used are clearly from a can, and definitely had no flavor.

Amazing food and great customer service! Its a family owned restaurant and they always give you more chips and salsa for free! Their margaritas are pretty good but the food is out of this world. I havent been disappointed with everything Ive tried from them so far. Update: their outdoor patio is very nice and margaritas are also out of this world.

Today I worked hard, and I knew I would not cook. I stopped in for dinner, and it was exactly what I needed. I had chicken fajitas and a margarita. It was just right. I really admire the owners and staff for working during the pandemic so people could eat out. Their hard work and family atmosphere is apparent.

The food is delicioso! I had chicken enchilada and a Chile Relleno. Both were excellent, tasty, and cheesy. Rice, beans, and cole slaw were also very good. My friend ordered steak a la mexicana and really liked it. Treat yourself to the Churros with a scoop of ice cream. Service was very good.

It is good mexican food. I wouldnt necessarily go out of my way to go to it. The only reason I give it a four is the seating. They sat our party of 6 at a four person table and there were about 10 other empty tables and three other groups of customers. It made for an uncomfortable lunch and we ordered less because of it.

It was an overall pleasant experience, but nothing about our meal stood out as particularly memorable. Salsa was very spicy (good!), but paired with very dull chips. Ive been going to Los Portales since it was Celias in Palo Alto. The original, not these other pop up Celia chains. I was 7 my first time visiting them. I followed them when they moved to Mountain View. My whole family goes there often and every time the owner, Sal, gives me a big hug and asks about my family if theyre not with me. Its family run and they treat you like their family. The food is amazing and the drinks are made perfect. I brought most of my friends here and theyve all become regulars like myself.

The staff is probably the friendliest group of people youll ever meet at a restaurant. They treat you and talk to you as if youre their family. I can tell the staff all have a strong bond, so you get that family vibe when you walk in for a meal. However, sometimes I feel like it can be too much of family time that customers can be waiting at the door waiting to sit down while staff is talking to each other or guests. Not a big issue. Its only usually like that when its slow. Ive only been here a couple of times, but I love their Chorizo con Huevos. Ill definitely be back. I left full and satisfied.

Food is excellent, my favorite is Baja Quesadilla with shrimp and cheese in a light sauce grilled to perfection. Fajitas are excellent too, and there is a choice of flour vs. corn tortillas (I dont like corn ones).Top it off with a glass of Jamaica (hibiscus tea) which is a tad too sweet for me. I always order no ice but perhaps I should try some ice next time.Service is quick, the place is clean and usually not crowded. A gem in Mountain View.

There are so many good authentic Mexican places around, I dont know how this place stays in business. Its standard americanized Mexican food, but even if thats what you want you can probably find better quality elsewhere, the food tasted reheated, chips were stale. The interior of this place is also very run down. Its also a bit on the pricey side, definitely way overpriced for this level of quality.

My grilled vegetable burrito had almost no vegetables, and was largely rice, beans and cheese in a flavorless, microwaved mix.
