Wow this restaurant is one of my new favorites in the Bay Area. I didn’t want rate this place 5 stars to move it further away from 3.5 stars but everything about this restaurant is excellent. The service is super friendly and quick and the food is top tier.The honey walnut shrimp is one of the best I have ever had and their mushroom and green beans were also very delicious. Highly recommend coming here!

We come here often because my in-laws love this place. I used to think the food was decent. But this time, the dishes we chose were pretty good. Especially the fried fish fillet.

Price is reasonable. The food is good. Not too spicy or salty. Highly recommend the duck. They are specialized Shanghai food. Service is adequate. Recommended.

So apparently this place is very famous in the Milpitas area, but the south side of San Jose is not as good as one would expect. The food is nice and delicious but was missing something. The waiter/owner was so sweet and attentive at all times. The meals are served fast and in good size portions to share. The prices are fair and you can come back to visit and try all the menu items because they are worth the price and they are tasty but I do wish they had more sauce or an umf factor.

Small place, busy, very large menu.I tried the Prawns with snow pea leaves were tastyGee-tsai fish soup was like Westlake soup with fish. It was goodPan fried chives cakes, were very fresh and very good.Beef fried rice had a slight smoky flavor and was also very good.

A basic Chinese restaurant in a shopping strip. But food was surprisingly good given the ambience. Highly recommend the salt & pepper fish filet. The 3-cup chicken had outstanding flavors. Garlic tofu good but could be more flavorful (very tempted to douse the 3-cup sauce onto the garlic tofu, but for the vegetarian among us). Fried noodles were ho-hum, as were the tofu strips appetizer. I could do both far better at home.Vegetables had the appropriate amount of done-ness. Overall, Id go back again.

I havent eaten in person, so I cant judge the atmosphere and service very well, but their cooking has declined over the years. I was reading a few other reviews and I think they did change their cook. Specifically their Mongolian Beef has gotten a lot worse and were practically paying for a lot of onion and barely any meat. They used to be a favorite, but I think its time to move on...

This restaurant delights every time I eat here. I take family and friends whenever anyone is in town and they always LOVE the food. The service is really fast and excellent, and the tea they serve is delicious. I cannot recommend this place enough. The food is perfection and you say will always be improved by visiting.

2023 update-continues to be our favorite Chinese food restaurant. Excellent service excellent foodWe are long time customers of Mayflower. They recently completed a nice refresh of the décor including adding a large screen TV. The staff are always nice and remember our favorites. The food is excellent with good sized portions and prices.

Stunned by the rave reviews when my Mapo Tofu wasn’t even edible. It was undercooked tofu that was the wrong type of tofu and incorrect consistency swimming in a watery mixture that neither looked nor tasted like authentic Mapo Tofu. No peppercorn, no usual spices, etc. Disappointed by all of it. They made a big deal about giving me white rice too. Only edible part of the meal was the rice.

One of our favorite Chinese restaurants. Its on our regular rotation of take-out places during COVID-19 pandemic. The Braised Beef Noodle Soup and Salt & Pepper Fish Fillet are very tasty. Friendly staff.

I ordered a meal after checking out their online website, and when I arrived to pick it up it was 2x the amount advertised online. They simply said that they havent updated their online menu in almost ten years, which all I can say I dont waste your time at this dump

I love love love this place. I bring them my own weird proteins to cook and theyre amazing about it. Everything on the menu is good. Want to leave recommendations, but it would be a list of at least 15 items... I eat here at least once a week.

Cozy place, tasty food. What else do we want? This is a surprise find. We were looking for the other Mayflower Restaurant in Yelp, but ended up with this one; we decided to try. We never stop coming back despite its far location from our home. Not enough parking around the place, so some during off-peaked time. May we recommend Beef Stewed Noodle Soup? Its delicious in a generous portion.

Very rude owner, unwilling to fix their own mistake of leaving out part of our prior order. Before this issue we ordered here a few times on nights that we got home too late to cook, only because it is close to our house. The food was inconsistent each time, except for being consistently greasy/oily.There are plenty of Chinese takeout places (& with better food), just go somewhere else as we’ll be from now on.

I agree with BL (2 months ago) This place used to be SO good. Just good, simple, tasty chinese food. I believe they have a new cook though. I have been working in the area 6 years and have been going here at least once a month maybe twice to eat. The last three times i went the food was awful!! It tasted like the dish was cooked in another dishs leftover broth! I cannot describe how bad it was but it is not the same cook. My shrimp fried rice tasted like the shrimp were plucked out of another leftover dish and placed in my rice. They were small and hard. I gave up and now I go back to Tsing Tao on San Tomas Aquino. They have always been and remain solid. The once tasty chinese food is no more at Mayflower. I used to brag on this place not anymore.

I have been here many times before the pandemic. I went with my mother for lunch yesterday, Sunday 3/7. In the old days it had two waitresses, but now it has only one. We arrived at around 11:30 and were the only dine-in. There were many take outs. The food is still pretty good. Portion is large. Service is like 90% of the Chinese restaurants. Want water, you ask. Want another napkin, you ask. Chinese restaurants waiters/waitresses seldom come around and ask you how everything is or if you need anything. The price definitely went up. But overall, I will return here for meals.

Mom and pop authentic Chinese place with tasty food and decent friendly service. Recommend the tea smoked duck, spicy fried chicken, XLB, fish fillet in vinegar sauce, but really everything Ive tried has been good (beef noodle soup was average). $25 credit card minimum, parking available on site
