Came here to try the Beijing style yogurt but it was more tart than how I liked it. We got the seaweed salad, cucumber salad, pan fried pork buns, beef noodle soup and tomato and beef casserole. Flavor profile is northern Chinese and quite spicy.

I got the guizhou style beef mifen. Waited in line for a table. Very efficient service. Our orders were taken while in line. The food came out piping hot as we were getting seated. Note: dont get guizhou style if sour broth is not your thing. Pictured is medium spicy.

Been a loyal customer to mifen 101 for almost a year now and it almost never disappoints. Mifen here is authentic and taste is amazing, especially if you like spicy food. The taste of food is very consistent as well. I personally would recommend the 卤粉。Service staff are polite and welcoming. Atmosphere is alright, like other restaurants. It can get packed and you might sit near other customers, but again most popular Asian restaurants are similar. For the food, its worth it.

Decent service, overrated food.This place is crowded. The line could be long. The servers were attentive compared to typical Chinese hole in the wall joints.I got the signature noodles medium spicy with beef. The broth was good but the meat cubes felt bland. Not tender either, a bit on the chewy side. The noodles were... just ok. If this is the best Guizhou style noodles the bay has to offer then Im pretty disappointed.The bringBeijing style yogurt was decent though, not too sweet.

First time trying mifen and I loved it! I got the beef mifen, mild spice. I like how I can still taste the spice even though its mild. Pickled cabbage is quite sour but good. I came for lunch on a Tuesday and there was no more indoor seating but 1 table left for outdoor seating. Water comes in styrofoam cups and the wait staff is very attentive on keeping your cups filled. Free parking garage nearby.

Walked by this small but crowded restaurant and decided to try. Received great service all the way through: server remembers our faces and spot in line, took our orders when table was about to be ready, even offered free drink when we lended a hand.Food arrived almost as soon as we sat down. Soup was very flavorful. We ordered the signature mutton rice noodle and the beef rice noodle. Plenty of condiments and meat.The pork intestine side dish was our favorite. The rice cake was also on point.Only wish/suggestion is that the meat could be a bit fattier.Overall a very satisfied experience and would definitely come again.

Best Chinese rice noodle in Bay Area. Very authentic with decent amount of beef. Their pickle in the rice noodle also tastes great! The line is usually long if you want to dine in. But if you choose to take out, it only takes 10-15 minutes for the rice noodle to be ready after you place the order. The parking is not difficult to find as there is several free public parking lot nearby.

Hands down my favorite noodle place in the Bay Area. So happy to have discovered this restaurant. We like it so much, we come here at least 2 times a month. Our fav dishes would be the Guizhou Style Beef in Sour & Spicy Mifen soup and Beef Mifen Noodle Soup. Can’t forget about their apps: pickled cucumber salad and Tofu skin salad. Staff members are always friendly and helpful. 100% recommend 👏🏻

Came here without reservations at 6:30pm on a Saturday. Wasn’t any issue to find a table for 3 people outside although there was a little bit of sun shining directly on the chairs which was a little uncomfortable, wish there was more shade outside. Ordered the seaweed salad, tofu skin salad, and the fish casserole mifen noodle dish.The seaweed salad and tofu skin were both fantastic dishes with classic authentic Chinese flavors. It wasn’t super spicy so adding some chilli oil from the table was a great way to enhance the flavor.The fish casserole noodle dish was a little disappointing however. The noodles had a good bouncy texture but the broth was very clearly lacking in flavor which tasted similar to water. Could have been better seasoned with more herbs and sour vegetables. Needed bolder flavors. Portion sizes are very good and 2 adults were able to share just 1 noodle dish with the 2 appetizers for a very filling meal.

Mifen 101 is a great spot to diversify your noodle palette. It isnt the most spacious area, and parking can be difficult. However, going to the restaurant was worth the drive to try a rack of lamb and noodles on a cold day. Not the best spot to go again, as there are a lot of competitive noodle and soup spots that could be heartier and easier to get to. I enjoyed the experience and the presentation; I recommend trying Mifen at least once.

Chinese noodle shop in downtown Mt View. So finding parking is a bit challenging to start off.The restaurant is small and packed, both indoor and outdoor together, maybe around 20-30 people total.You have beef noodle, lamb noodle, paring with some small dishes like pig ear, cucumber etc.The taste of the soup is satisfying, the portion is running on the big side.The Chinese yogurt drink has my childhood memories.Not a bad place I will say.

Had the chitterlings noodle soup. Really darn good. Lamb noodles was good as well. The stewed pork pockets werent great when I got em, but tasted much better the next day after a reheat; flavors werent melded when they were first served. Cold sliced beef was fine, not bad, but maybe a bit small (everyones like that nowadays). The sticky rice sticks with sugar syrup/molasses were too sweet--3/5. Worth coming out to eat. Very nostalgic. Probably not a staple place though.

Best mifen Ive ever had, they have a nice squeaky texture. Mian was pretty good, but not as amazing as the mifen. Soups are also very good, adequately spicy. Really good portions. Lots of options on the menu, though the beef is definitely a good pick. We also got a beef appetizer, not spicy enough for us but still very good. Love the suan nai, I would pay for it but it came with our order :)The lady was also very nice, explained the menu to us. She warned us that it can be pretty spicy so she set aside the spice just in case. But it was all good, I poured the whole thing in and it was even more delicious.We will definitely return for more! Downtown Mountain View needs more restaurants like this.

The dumplings sauce was great, as was the voice of the lady singing in the back (seriously want her for my next karaoke sesh)I ordered the vermicelli beef however I wish I ordered the vermicelli beef casserole and added tendon. The casserole is the same as the spicy beef noodle soup however it contains a delicious tea egg, tendon would have added some gelatin to give more mouth feel. I ordered medium spicy which was plenty spicy.The service is fairly typical for an authentic Chinese place: speak up for service. The place is small enough that a simple hand gesture is enough to get their attention.

This restaurant has really attentive service. One time we came in and found that the non-spicy broth still had a bit of pepperish spicy, the waiter immediately offered us another bowl of plain broth. The next time we were able to order noodles with plain broth to start with. Their food is authentic, delicious and reasonably priced.

I got the sour and spicy beef mifen. It was pretty flavorful overall, and the beef was surprisingly flavorful (sometimes meat can be a bit bland after soaking in the soup but not in the case). The noodles were a bit on the soft side but soaked up the soup flavor which was good.The pickled cucumbers were fresh and had more stuff on it than expected, like cilantro/peanuts/etc, which was a plus.Their roasted peanuts are also very good. Fresh tasting, perfectly roasted, and didnt have that old oil taste.

Its location is slightly off main Castro Street (where an Asian dessert place used to be I think?) so weve missed it despite coming to Castro regularly for our other cravings. You can tell its good with how theres a constant stream of diners filing in (granted, it was also ~7pm on a Sunday evening).We got the sour & spicy mifen (both the mutton and intestine versions) and you can tell their soup/noodles really shine with the sour/spicy profile. I imagine it will probably be a little greasy without the acidity and spice but it was really tasty with. (The chunks of pickled cabbage also taste of nostalgia (they are quite salty though so beware) -- its how my grandma makes them.) The portions are pretty big though, so dont order too many appetizers if you have a small stomach:)They also have the traditional Beijing yogurt drink here (though in a much different packaging from the ceramic jars of my childhood) and maybe its the nostalgia speaking but its also really good ;)Its definitely a place wed be making return visits to -- theres other things on the menu that look interesting too!

We got the tomato fatty beef clay pot mifen, the house special beef noodle soup, and a spicy beef tendon cold dish. Meat portions were very generous, and the soup were alright, both were super spicy but I found the tomato one to be a bit bland. The beef tendon cold dish was really good, definitely the highlight of the meal.Overall decent spot if you’re feeling like getting mifen, nothing crazy, pretty good value.

I came here on a Friday night with just a 10 minute wait or so. There aren’t many indoor seats so it does take a while to get a spot if you come at 6 PM on a Friday night like we did.Good:I liked the servers they were really nice especially since we spoke Chinese and they came out with the food really really quickly we ordered and they got the beef noodle soup to us in about three minutes or something crazy so this place is super super good if you were in a rush and you want some warm noodle soup.Definitely props though to the waiter who gave us free duck heads to take home that definitely added a plus one to my experience.Bad:The only bad thing about this place is that the noodle soup is just average it is really warm it has a lot of stuff in it and it’s just a little bit spicy but other than that I thought that it wasn’t the best I’ve had before. The food is pretty oily and greasy so I didn’t feel that good eating it either.Overall I might come back but I do think that the noodle soup was a bit less stellar than some of the other options on Castro and I would probably wait to try out the rest before I came back here.

If you missed the authentic ‘al dente’ rice noodle with a rich flavor (spicy, sour but also a little bit sweet if you chewy on the onion with pickles), or you just want to try something new in this cold raining season, just order their signature rice noodle soup.We ordered the signature beef one and also the lamb one to go, I must say the quality is really good. We spend almost 30minutes on the way back home, but it still has the good smooth and al dente rice noodle and also the soup flavor kicks my appetite up.Then, the serving is large. I usually can finish the noodle soup by myself but today I am stuffed. That’s a plus.By the way, their special home-made yogurt is so yummy. Savory and satisfying! A little gem on the side street of DTMVYou can taste the freshness and quality they put into their dishes. Really love Intestine in spicy chilly oil, and the mifen soup dishes have a delightful broth. Be warned, these bowls are huge. I got the tomato beef clay pot rice noodle and the beef stew with cold rice noodles.Nice rice noodles, and nice lamb and beef on top. The homemade lamb and beef stew together with the soup are the souls.The normal spicy could be quite spicy though. I often order slight spicy just to be safe.The cold noodles are not cold though, but the soup is hot anyways.

Bad experience for a first time taste of authentic Chinese food. A classmate of mine suggested this place as I was up to try the authentic Chinese food. Unfortunately, it was bad taste and I ended up food poisoned. Good thing I didn’t eat a lot. After eating it as a dinner, I had massive headache at 2:30am followed by throwing up. For at least some dishes like the Beef Offal noodles, theres a regular version ($12.99) and a fancier version thats in a different bowl, they call it in Casserole ($14.99). There were some extra toppings like a marinated egg, and the waiter said the broth is more rich.Having ordered one each, and tasting both, I think the regular is good enough. I actually preferred the broth from the basic one, seemed to have more depth.

It’s new, opened up couple weeks ago. Lots of noodles and soup are given, even too much I would say for big eaters like me, but a bit more veggies and a few more pieces of meat would be nice for this price.Soup base is all the same, sour and a bit spicy, I’m happy with the taste as a Chinese. Service is normal, nice lady (cashier), not as bad as some reviewers said. It’s a Chinese restaurant, straight forward, so don’t expect the same style of service as Amercian’s, different culture. I don’t see any problem, just get use to it 😂.

Lamb and beef were very lightly flavored, tender, and not gamey at all, but they dont put much in. Update: dined in for the first time and the noodles are great! Very QQ. Solid dumplings too (the sauce is bomb)The best broth. Perfectly adequate noodles/mifen, excellent balance of pickled veggies, meats, noodles.Since they serve a lot of offal, their clientele is mainly Chinese, I get a look of surprise everytime they notice Im picking up for myself, not door dashing. The non offal items are good (make it sour/spicy for a change), but try beef offal sour and spicy for the full experience.Fyi- lamb spine is kind of like a lamb version of oxtail. Delicious and not in fact weird.

Worst fen 粉 I have ever had in my whole life. Got the 番茄肥牛粉加红酸 Tomato fatty beef with spicy and sour. The soup was not umami beef soup at all. The flavor was very thin, like water with vinegar, chili oil and soy sauce. And the 红酸 Spicy and Sour( which is supposed to be fermented tomato paste) has a weird lemon flavor in it (not fresh lemon, but some artificial lemon flavor, in a word, very gross). And the fatty beef, OMG, it was like the beef slices were frozen in the fridge for 5 years. I could not take even one bite. You can taste that their ingredients were not fresh. Will not order again. Not recommended.
