I stay at this location frequently and of all motel 6s this is probably the best one Ive been too. Reason being is the maids do an amazing job of cleaning the rooms, the staff in the office are all super friendly & will go out of their way to make sure your stay is great with them! Its always a pleasure dealing with one of the managers Kim, she is always super understanding and helpful with whatever you need! Also this motel is super super pet friendly!!!!Theres no deposit at this location which almost all others have some sort of deposit. They also have 24/7 security & are huge advocates on stopping human trafficking, so much so your not allowed to back in your vehicles into the parking spots!Dennis one of the handyman on the property will always help you out if you need anything for your room or stay as well. I look forward to staying here anytime I need a room.
I wasnt to please about the room because it was not what I paid for but i can say Mark The Manager received word of my issues he was on it immediately and his customer service is a A+ so anyone experience any issues please have patience and reach out Mark I promise this he will take care of you other than that I like the fact its quiet being next to the freeway I wasnt expecting the slient in the room Thank you mark
This location is one of the best motel 6 in San Diego. Clean rooms and safe location with security onsite.Staff is very friendly and courteous . Jezzabel who checked me in was nice and very professional .5stars !!
From the first day I booked my room I’ve had a magnificent experience with the wonderful staff. Specially Mark, Briana and Eric!!Briana goes out of her way to help and assist even with heating up my popcorn! This place always provides 5 star service. I stay here a few times a year to get away from the same old stress filled life. The rooms are always clean and I mean always. The service is second to none. I usually check in right around 3 and I always forget to get the gals name at the counter. Her service is amazing. She is professional courteous always has a smile and works with lightning speed. She has been at the front desk on the last couple of check-ins and is just great. Next time I will get her name. The outside is well kept and the security at the front is very welcome. They do a great job at keeping the guests safe. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR GIVING 5 STAR SERVICE IT IS APPRECIATED!
Me and my kids have been here for about a month now and the staff here are absolutely amazing and the housekeeper as well especially when my kids make messes..Prices are great and rooms are clearner then any hotel ive seen..
My partner and I stayed here with our 8 week old at first everything was good the staff were nice but then one night we stayed there and they told us we could park anywhere and even though they told us that they had our car towed (mind you we have an 8 week old baby so having a car is imperative) after going into the office crying with my newborn in my arms they basically blamed me and said it was my fault and had no sympathy for what they had just done, it cost me 1500 to get my car out of the impound (with tags and impound fee) then the housekeepers don’t speak English so it’s hard to get anything you need from them because there is a language barrier. I WILL never stay here and recommend you don’t either… keep in mind El Cajon is known for sex trafficking of children as well (we just found out about this) if I could leave 0 stars I would this is probably one of the worst motel 6 I stayed at Carlsbad beach ca is nicer and cheaper per night drive the extra way and get better service, housekeepers who speak English and they won’t tow your car ;)
No fridge or microwave in the room, you have to pay $10.00 per day plus tax, if youre lucky to get one. Also we found cockroaches in our room and bathroom. They do have a laundromat, but its $3.00 to wash and $2.50 to dry. I feel it could be a bit cheaper.
I love this place. I started staying here with my brother because he told me about how they treat him well. One employee sticks out and her name is Brianna. I will continue booking here and I will continue to coming back in the future. When you check in, tell Brianna that Isaiah referred you from google. She needs to be recognized.
Overpriced and didn’t honor the daily rate into the weekend. Another Motel 6 location says we got scammed by this location. Avoid and seek other locations if possible. Constant cop cars and helicopter flying over. All in all not the best place for what we paid.

Room were nice but the hospitality sucked was being picked up to check out and because I my ride had dogs and they werent checked in I was forbidden from checking back and the they asked not to come back without warning i was band from coming back i will never go back again. That was not necessary or professional.
The rudest people on earth and the most disgusting rooms Ive ever seen they are not a franchise location, so they are rude fo r no reason and act like its ok to be that way!! Sleeping under a freeway is equivalent to this disgrace of a place!!

The rooms were fully filled with cockroaches. 🪳 Bathrooms too. There were literally tens of them in our room and got into our dresses and bags and over any leftover food. I dont know why the management isnt taking care of this menace
Clean room but a lot of activity at night. I dont know if everyone was staying at the motel but it was noisy at night on the premises made it hard to sleep.
$95. Bare minimum, single night stand, no place but floor for personal items. Only soap for hygiene no hair toiletries, no blow dryer, no fridge, no microwave, sink does not drain, toilet ran all night, bulbs out. Woke up at night to turn on heat, only to blow cold air, burn marks in sink and counter. ZERO UPDATES, for a chain establishment you’d expect some investment in their business.
When I got to El Cajon, I got a rental car. After turning in the rental, I asked the GM if I could keep my personal vehicle in the lot after checking out so I can work on it and get it running. I was told no and They threatened to tow my car with all my belongings in it. The property needs a cleanup along the exterior perimeter. All the miscellaneous trash and rotting furniture is a fire hazard. Its a hit or miss with this property you dont know how they will treat you from one day to next. Creepy place.
Great place to get a nights rest. Other than being kept up for a couple hours with the neighbors doing the hanky panky was good. I also asked for a late checkout and they don’t do it anymore? Why did the house keeping say I can checkout by 11:30 but when I called FD they said it’s 11. Definitely need to get everybody on the right page
I own a construction company and have been putting my men up in the Motel 6 in El Cajon. The manager, Mr Mark Frosles, sorry if I didnt get the spelling right, has been courteous and very attentive if anything is ever needed. This place is run like some kind of gang who has a deal with the towing company. Apparently there is a school next door, though there isn’t anyone there, no kids, no teachers…..and even though they have their own parking lot separate from the motel, they still share a few spots in the motel 6 parking lot that are marked with yellow posts and vague “unauthorized parking” signs. Staff will not tell you about this, and where NOT to park, you’ll just found out when your car is towed away that they don’t take any accountability for notifying clients about it. The parking pass given must mean nothing because they will not verify who is staying on the property and let them know they must move their car, security doesn’t do anything either. I am certain the staff is the ones calling the towing company, I have seen it happen a few times now. As far as the company that stays here, it seems like just plenty of shady characters that are obnoxious and loud, and homeless who come to do drugs and look for things to steal. Rooms are sometimes clean, but watch out for the roaches. Absolutely terrible location with unaccountable staff and management. DO NOT BOOK HERE
Ive done traveling around the U.S. and my overall experience with Motel 6 is stellar. I normally dont have complaints, but this El Cajon Motel 6 definitely needs to be improved on. Upon arriving, I could tell that the building looked worn and needed special attention. I crossed my fingers hoping the rooms inside was neater. The staff at the front office were great: thorough with instructions and very helpful. Thank you! Upon entering our room, there was a slight stench, not terrible, but enough to make me feel slightly off. It took a few hours before the smell did not bother me (this smell continued throughout my two night stay). The A/C was appreciated in the extreme hot days that my partner and I were there. The tile in the bathroom was clean, but old and stained. It made me uncomfortable to want to walk around barefoot. The pool was cloudy and it made me not want to go for a swim (even though I had packed swim trunks). The place gave me mixed feelings. It felt like some of the rooms hosted permanent residents from what I could see through certain windows. It was different and I suppose with Covid-19, I could see why this place might have permanent residents. It was different and nothing was wrong with it, it just gave you a different feel from a traditional motel or hotel stay. Overall, cleanliness was kept up with and security detail made you feel a bit safer at night. There was plenty of restaurant options around the area and overall a satisfactory stay.
Never stay here. They have a portion of their parking lot that you can’t park at overnight and no one tells you. I woke up the morning after thanksgiving to my car having been towed. I had to pay $400 to get it out. When I spoke to the general manager of the hotel about it he said that it’s not their responsibility to tell you.

Management is great, the entire staff is absolutely phenomenal. They all work together like a team. No matter what their position with the company... a housekeeper or maintenance, or an office worker... If a guest was near them they acknowledged them and made sure that they were not in need of anything and those that were, were listened to and given the help to appropriately satisfy the situation.This had to be one of the best ran, best-trained businesses that I have seen I was very impressed, definitely will stay again. In fact Ive commented to several family members and friends about how surprisingly awesome this staff was and this particular property was kept. What a Gem.
Invasion, terrorizing mother with two babies, committing child endangerment, theft, father pepper sprayed chased with a wrench, hit in the mouth.Yes there was an altercation between a couple a mother who recently gave birth to her second child. The father tried to defuse the situation. The father was hit in the mouth by staff chased with some large metal wrench, pepper sprayed by the motel manager. Police were involved. Things were resolved so the mother and babies were allowed to stay. A couple hours later hotel manager and strange man barged in the mothers room, terrorizing her and the babies, and begin throwing out all her belongings into the street along with a 21 month and brand new 2 month old babys. They stole the fathers skateboard that he gets around on. I will prevail to expose. I plan on calling every attorney the book and media. This was the sickest experience in any motel hotel ever!!

My room (216) was a dump. The bathroom light switch only comes on after you flip the switch and tap the cover. And even then it flickers. Electrical fire waiting to happen. The lights between the beds were nasty and bent. The flooring was buckled in lots of places and it felt grimy. Just lots of defects that were obvious and not pleasant to look at. The remote had no cover over the batteries and it was dirty. I had to sanitize it. My kids were pissed at me for booking this room and they did not sleep well at all and did not even want to use the rest room, I had to take them to a store for that. They charged me a $20 early check in fee, even though the room was ready. I paid about $190 just to stay in a complete dump. Oh wait, there were guys peeing in the bushes at all hours of the nigh and just random weird people milling around. Save your money and go elsewhere.
This is definitely a motel 6! But the rooms were very clean and could not have asked for more at the price point. The area is a little rough and there’s lots of interesting characters walking around but they’ve hired 24hr security which gave us peace of mind.
I have been staying here of and on. For 3 plus months. And have stayed before here.. The motel has received some negative publicity......Lets be REAL, blaming the motel for its guest behavior is like blaming a Mayor for the actions of the people in his town......The motel is a clean safe environment...The management team, I love them all. There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the room. They said it was $10 per night to rent a small hotel fridge but since I was only staying 2 nights they only charged me for one day. I had a reservation and had requested a handicap room explaining I needed to be able to park close to my room and that I had a placard. I also requested a early check in. But I ended up getting there 20 minutes before 3 pm and was told they had a room ready but it would cost me another $20. So I went out to wait 20 min in my car parked in the handicap spot by the office. Which I later discovered was the only handicap spot there. The clerk did come get me ten minutes later and got me in my room, no charge. I did get a handicap room but it wasnt even near any parking and all it had was a roll in shower but no hand held shower nozzle. It was also right next to a vending machine. I realized at about 2 am after being woken up again by the sound of the sodas clunking to the bottom of the vending machine that my door wasnt sealed. There was a gap between the door and the frame letting the sound and light into the room. It was the long 2 days. I used to work at Marriott so maybe I expected to much but I felt nickeled and dimed to death.
I had two problems that werent addressed. In my room, 111 - the door wouldnt shut all the way. It looked as if it been kicked in, Jessica said shed have someone look at it, never did. Bottom line, the door wouldnt shut. From the outside you could push the door easily open with your hand. Also, I asked for the $4.99 internet, paid for the $4.99 internet, and was given the $2.99 internet. When I brought this up to Jessica, she said sorry. It was never fixed.
I came to motel 6 the lady Bri took good care of me good service very patient and respectful with the detail charges the location is near al lot of restaurants the room is clean good beds and Pillows diffidently recommend this place good reasonable price again thank you Bri for good service.
Bri was my first Contact and I couldnt be more impressed with her efficiency. We stayed 10 days and as we got to know the staff and manager Mark, I can confidently say that I need to go back to my mechanic and this is where we will be staying. No fridges, no microwaves. Dont let that put you off. First of all this Motel 6 has an extensive room service menu. Now we havent tried it but we were too busy eating everything in the vicinity and theres a lot. Very close by. The hotel itself is very nice and clean with lots of offers of towels and bedding sheets and if you sleep then leave them at the door for you. Since its a long-term stay, they will clean your room once a week if youre so wish but we took care of it ourselves its no big deal and the stuff is just so nice we ended up chatting with them which was just so much more fun and they have enough work on their hands. The place is very big for a Motel 6. It has an inner quadrant with a Yin Yang Rock Garden and a palm tree that has been trimmed for years for the bark to look the way it does, the place is absolutely beautiful there 100% concentrating on cultivating the grounds. Super inviting pool. Coffee hot chocolate and tea in the morning. My sisters disabled and they were so nice to her and all our dogs and we have three. We will definitely be back since my power steering just went out again. Brilliant place, thanks for everything guys!Ps much as we would like to building next door is being turned into a restaurant, I was informed its being turned into a kindergarten or such. A very happy place. Thanks again
Far out with prices over $100 a night? Lucky to get it. Staff with beards excellent. Dogs in Motel 6 ads all here and very loud as are their owners but otherwise great place to stay.
One of the worst Motel 6 properties Ive ever been to .The Manager was rude, insulting and has no place being involved in the hospitality industry.
We have been reserving this hotel for about 2 weeks and only had trouble with one of the staff and it’s the front desk employee. But nothing serious. Good place when it come to a budget.

Will never go back..dirty room,broken toilet,bathroom sink. Handyman had to make ac/heater work. We borrowed blankets from his niece. Good place for homeless people I guess
Clean rooms great location the lady at the front desk named bri was very rude she was on her phone when I walked in I believe I seen her multiple times around the property she wears inappropriate clothing when she is off the clock like booty shorts and small shirts if she works for motel 6 that is a bad image she is setting for the company I will not be back to this location as long as bri is working there.
Im a single dad of 4, and at my lowest i found people who cared with out knowing me. I couldnt ask for more better treatment. From the front desk staff to the housekeeping. And the rooms, well the Rooms are clean and the property the same. Thank you all for making my kids and I feel at home when we needed it the most. You all go out of your way and do extra, bless you and thank you again...
If I could it a zero I would. First off it’s FULL OF ROACHES!! Which I didn’t notice until I ordered a pizza and they all came out. Of course by that time I was there for exactly ONE HOUR and they wouldn’t give me a refund. They told me I had to come back in the morning and talk to management, WHICH THENN would call an exterminator to come and actually verify that there are roaches in the room… i then asked if I could record it with my phone and show them if THAT would be enough to verify that there roaches in the room and his answer to that was “no, people have been bringing roaches to this hotel since the 80’s”… ummm ok… whatever the fuq that means… this place is disgusting and I should have realized that when I seen the “28th day” sign they had in the front. Save your money and frustration and go somewhere else. I’d honestly sleep in my car before I’d sleep In there.

Kim and Derell are excellent! Lisa is also amazing! The rooms are spacious, and clean. They use real cleaning products like pine sol. The housekeeping even keeps the outside property clean. This is the best motel 6 Ive stayed at. They are dedicated to excellent customer service and they accommodate their guest nicely. They also treat EVERYONE WITH RESPECT AND PATIENCE! Excellent customer and property. I would definitely recommend if your on a budget. Thanks motel 6 staff!
Staff is always courteous and attentive. Room clean and comfortable. I dont even mind the maintenance issues of leaky toilet and trickle of a shower. I was thought disappointed this stay when parking notice was put on my motorcycle for not displaying parking pass in wind and rain. Even more disappointed when the management asked me not to put notes on my door for no housekeeping. They are insisting that I be woken up everyday either by phone or knocking on my door. I may be forced to upgrade to another hotel next time. Damn, I loved my motel 6 for years.
InTheCut@Motels: Motel 6 is extremely affordable and the rooms are air conditioned or heated depending on season, shower, sink, TV. Provides soap, linens towels. Going from being homeless to here is one huge leap. Anyone homeless will tell you a cardboard box is a really bad motel. So an actual motel to us is the Hilton. Theres no bugs in this place, they provide everything you need to be comfortable, and they are extremely affordable, and dont require a deposit. Only downside is no microwave or refrigerator in common rooms so youll spend more on food. The ice machine has also been broken for months now so drinks cant be cold. Bottom line: Easy to afford, mostly every comfort, and located near public transportation.
Just wanted to say that the staff here goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and Mark is an awesome manager he really goes out of his way to make sure everything goes smoothly with your stay here. Exactly what I expected And very quiet I had nothing wrong with my visit and anytime I had a question they were very helpful. I would say the only issue I had was I picked a smoking room and it definitely smelled like a smoking room. Maybe open the window and air the rooms out even if its a smoking room. But other than that it was a great experience. They dont charge for pets so definitely a great place if you have pets.
Check-in process was smooth and staff was very welcoming and professional. Rooms were cleaned well and I liked that they had coffee out in the morning during checkout.

Its not the greatest area of town but the rooms are clean, if a little smokey. In terms of bang for your buck the staff are very professional, and its an excellent affordable option if youre just using it as a place to rest your head! Theres also an Enterprise car lot within walking distance that has good service and good rates! I would stay again.
Dont waste your time or your money staying here!!! My friend stayed here and was threatened by the manager for no reason people fighting and arguing in the hallway late at night. Broken ice machine. Old mattresses with springs sticking out . No fridge no microwave. Dirty rooms . Rude employees and not worth the money. Go somewhere else like Days inn El cajon or Best Western is much nicer.
Much improved! The property is much better controlled to benefit the guests of the hotel. No more homeless passing across the property from camps that had been on the adjacent state owned property. Good security personnel acting with responsive local police to deter trespassing. Again, a much improved and a comfortable stay. Im looking forward to returning.
Fights breaking out in the parking lot, with staff involved laughing the whole time, no smoking section on the property. We had what I assume was the manager, run us off the property over smoking a cigarette. Total Karen, learn your clientele, it’s motel 6 we wanna smoke cigarettes on the property safely. Sending us out into tweakerville just to smoke is not appropriate, never felt so unwelcome at a place we paid for especially a motel 6. Never had a problem smoking at a motel and weed is legal now so get used to that too. Worst experience I’ve ever had and we’ve stayed at the ez-8 motel so the bar was pretty low already. Do not recommend
The good - the staff was top-notch, some of the better service Ive had and that includes some of the 5-star hotels Ive stayed in. They are pet-friendly which helps a lot when you have an anxious dog. The bad - the amenities arent the greatest (I never could get our TV to work but also never called to ask for it to be fixed) and the bed was a bit stiff. There are some iffy characters floating around, but on-site security kept problems and the sound level to a minimum. In the end, for the price and location, it was a good deal. The staff is really what made the biggest difference and why I gave them 4 stars instead of 2-3.
Place is adequate. But dont go outside .especially at night 🌉. Honestly its a drug and hooked hotel. We stayed because we needed to be away from our house a few hours due to pest control. They were nice and let us check in early. They give no shampoo or conditioner. Only 2 small soaps 🧼.. floor is very dirty all wood . But gross under beds . Thank God we didnt stay the night. Its not a hotel that sleeps.
Lisa the front desk lady is synonymous with get it done. She was pleasant in assisting my friend and I check into the Motel. The motel itself was comfy, clean with a modern touch in the decor. The only complaint I have is the lack of a refrigerator in the room. Other than that I had a great stay.
The room was clean very friendly staff well up kept nice location conivent the general manager Mark and assistant manager Kim have great customer service skills and is very helpful if you have an issue they will try to help solve it the house keeping staff are amazing and the house men which I believe is Mr. Dennis,Mr javin and rudi. You have certain staff at times that seem like they dont want to do there job which they are getting paid for
My stay was okay like normal. My twin sis & I are seniors (over 60) and we recently moved from El Cajon to Palo Verde, CA which is almost 200 miles that takes 3 hours one way of non-stop driving. I was diagnosed with stage 3 squamish cell carcinoma one year ago and travel from Palo Verde to El Cajon 3-4 times in a month to make my hospital/doctor appointments so I stay here a lot. Everyone at the front desk seemed friendly all the time so what happened when my sis tried to to book a room for tonight? They refused to book a room for us and told her that we are banned from that location permanently!! Why? They accused us of smashing the air conditioner!!!! Im taking this all the way to corporate!! Im so offended! My twin sis and I are little old ladies! Why in the world would we do something like that????? I had to give a star rating of 1 when I wanted to give negative stars.
Front desk clerk was great, but the manager must have some personal issues at home he is bringing to work. Was told I must park my vehicle overnight across the street in an empty lot full of homeless people because I had a small trailer (which wouldnt be allowed on property) and I obviously declined to do. I am not going to speculate what his attitude problem was but when I told him I didnt feel safe with my things in the empty lot he said that I didnt have to stay at the hotel then... and when I pressed the issue he got so aggressive that he raised his voice to the point of nearly yelling.Full refund for both rooms for 4 nights was given so I cant fault Motel 6 itself, however I recommend the Super 8 across the street for a better deal and generally more accommodating. I doubt the Motel 6 manager will be there long, so by the time this review is posted the place might be okay again.
Ive stayed here before, and didnt mind coming back despite the area. I decided to park in the back and while waiting for a friend I was getting my things situated so my car wouldnt get broken into. The security gaurd ordered me off of the property and harassed me until I left. I tried explaining I was waiting to check in, he wouldnt have any of it and refused to tell me his name. So I took the window covers off my car, canceled my reservation and left. I called the front office to see if it was illegal or against policy to wait in the lot. They offered the culdesac or the lot in front of the abandoned office and I explained with the area and the homeless I didnt feel safe waiting over there. The guy on the phone was polite enough, but the security gaurd was a jerk.
Here we are at the Motel 6 550 Montrose Ct., El Cajon, CA. And the manager here is a delightful, young man named Alan, who has been a HUGE help for us (me and my mom), and he diligently accomodated all of our needs, and he graciously made sure that we were placed in the accessible room that we were needing and asking for. This young gentleman Alan, has a warmth and kindness about him that is unheard of nowadays! He is also very patient, and we have noticed and observed that he seems to like and enjoy helping the guests here and assisting them with whatever they need ❤ (I personally think that Alan, the manager here was taught good principles while growing up, because he is obviously skilled in public relations, and the courtesy of how to treat people very well!!) Also, Alan is part of the precious few people in the professional world that we can actually trust and rely on!!! 👍😍🕊
The room was very clean. My only issue is if check out time is 11 why does the maid service knock on your door at 10 a.m.? Overall my stay was pleasant the only thing that wasnt was getting awoken at 1:20 in the morning because some child pulled the fire alarm it scared my two dogs. My only other recommendation since I have stayed at several locations is that since you are a pet friendly hotel you should offer extra blankets or pet beds for your pet guest. I do appreciate the waste bags and the grassy areas in some locations.
It was a decent motel the room that we had was large had a kitchenette in it worked out really well service was good they took care of the room cleaning it everyday bringing new towels and whatever else I needed bedding I would recommend it
The door to outside would not close all the way, and I was right next to the highway. Every car driving by sounded like it was in the room with me. I went to the front desk and they told me that they didnt have any other rooms with 2 beds. How could no one that works at this place notice that the door was broken?! The guy working in front gave me a different room with one bed for me and my little sister. Apparently they have no rollout beds, so I asked for an extra blanket, planning on sleeping on the floor, but they also didnt have extra blankets. The room was pretty clean though. Didnt even see trash under the bed while I was on the floor.
Hands down the least expensive motel around, worth the drive. They are almost always full. The only complaints are with the high volume going through they need to keep up with maintenance. The ice machine, soda machine, and the laundry facilities are always broken. Come on your motel is full spend the extra dough and fix the few amenities you have. Last visit all of the mentioned were out of service.
Im actually going to take the time to write a review about this location. Ive been coming here for a few years now and its always been hit-or-miss but lately since the new manager Mark and some new faces in the staff have been here its been a pleasurable experience. I usually stay here with my dog so sometimes as a woman you get Leary about your surroundings. A few months back I stayed over a week and Mark took the time to know my name and made me feel very comfortable to stay here because of the fact that his hospitality was genuine so I really would like everyone to give Motel 6 El Cajon another try because as far as I can see they are doing a great job and Im giving them five stars
Was told they were dog friendly and when we got there was told there was a 60lb. limit. No other Motel 6 weve stayed has asked us that. Plus homeless were all over the place. Ill pass on this city again not worth it.
Staff was great! What I didnt like was the fact that the pool looked dirty and the fact that I kept having to go to the front desk because my key stopped working in multiple occasions. As for housekeeping, staff were nice, but took way too long to get new set of clean towels and due to the lack of time before checking out I had to go to the front desk to get them myself.
When I initially checked in there were several issues with the room. On my second day another issue arose. There was a different person working on this day when I went to the front desk.Your Desk Clerk Donald was great!!! He immediately took care of the issue, made sure everything in my room was working & followed up to ensure I had a great stay. Donalds Excellent Customer Service really made a difference. Ill be back for sure thanks for a great stay.
On the last day of my stay my wallet came up missing. The staff at motel 6 was unable to accommodate my needs to help me find it. I was had a good stay up until today. You would figure that if you needed assistance with a issue while staying at their facility they would be more than happy to accommodate your request. Not here. Thanks for your non help in my very serious matter.
I travel and stay at Motel 6 often. This one stands out because of its staff. The employees were polite, efficient and kind. During a very tough time for my family they kept everything clean and quiet. This motel is not in the best neighborhood but they certainly made up for that. With the service. Thank you soo much!! Oh, and even the trash cans are clean!! Awesome
Stayed here about 5 years ago after the renovation was completed. This stay was decent at best. Staff at front desk were the best. Had to ask for appropriate linens as soon as we checked in we registered 3 guests and there was a lack of towels and washcloths when we arrived. We couldnt check in early unfortunately but thats not terrible but would have been nice on a hot day. Stayed 2 nights and check out was great. One mattress had significant stains and the other looked new. Hubby could not sleep on the older mattress. Maid service is forced on you daily No privacy tag allowed. I know the area is very crime prone since I was from this area as a young adult but I value my privacy. Im not sure on my next trip to visit family I will stay here again.
I gave a 5 star review for the rooms because of cleanliness! The rooms are great design wise just could use a facelift. BUT THE BED WAS SOOO COMFORTABLE and along with CLEANLINESS, I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN!PRICE is amazing especially for summer rates. FOR THE HOTEL BEING A 2 STAR motel, IT DESERVES to be a 5 STAR motel as far as being IMMACULATELY CLEANED for a visitor, and why pay 5 star rates when u also get 5 star customer service. If u want to save money and your here on vacation, stay here, YOU WILL LOVE IT!
0 STARS IF I COULD. Put us on 1st floor parking lot side when we requested otherwise for safety reasons. Front desk said its all they had. Door did not close all the way, front desk male smirked and said we are all good. Manager and security was called. They said it was normal that the door did not close all the way. Someone came in our room the next day and used tub and left soaking wet hand towel in shower. Hotel swore no one entered our room and even checked video footage. Felt extremely unsafe the whole time due to hotel staff entering room without permission and lying about it. Left immediately and will not be returning.
I booked through expedia... I didnt expect anything fancy but something comfortable and clean. I got none of that sadly, customer service is good and I should be getting a refund. But i do not recommend for family or woman alone. First off, a lot of sketchy people; we had a guy follow us and give us that nasty look. It smelled like weed a lot, and the room wasnt very clean. There was a bug on our bed, the towels in the restroom had a big black hair. I didnt feel safe nor comfortable I honestly left 3 hours after checking out.
We stayed here in 2015, and have noticed the newness of a freshly renovated motel has worn a bit, but still, it is adequately maintained.Location was perfect for us, as we visited several friends and familyall over the county.Our room was neat and clean, but there seemed to be a run on towelsand other room supplies, but eventually everything was replaced. I think staff just got overwhelmed a bit.
Bad customer service, the manager has an attitude and she is very rude. The room was not clean when we checked in, the bathroom floor was sticky and the tub wasnt clean too. When I asked her about the housekeeping, she said they clean every three days. I dont recommend it at all, for a few extra bucks you could go to the La Mesa location, which is 10 times better.
Only thing nice about this place is the how hard working and nice the cleaning staffs were, otherwise everything is terrible. Rooms did not look like anything advertised. Rooms were dirty. Pay the extra $20-$30 a night to stay at a real hotel. I Promise it would be worth it.
The staff were very polite and very nice and the rooms were very clean I was very grateful to get around my last minute coming from Colorado. Also I really like the idea of security walking around the building throughout the night and made me feel very safe with my kids and my husband.
The front desk clerk that checked me in, was not friendly at all. It seemed as tho he was having a bad day and was taking it out on me. I have worked in customer service for over 25 and I have to say, you dont treat your guests that way period. Instead of asking for my drivers license politely, he said, drivers license, then put a paper on the counter and said, put your license plate please. For the first impression with your company, I have to say it was not good. After getting to my room and throughout the rest of my stay, all the other staff were friendly. The pool was clean, the room was clean and comfortable so, I wasnt completely disappointed. That young man tho, is going to ruin your companies reputation for friendly service. There was a young lady who came on duty just as I came in, who was very friendly and everyone else I came in contact with were friendly, but not that young man. Made me wonder if I even wanted to stay there. Im glad I gave it a second thought.
Lisa(front desk) was wonderful at accommodating my needs! As soon as I checked into the room I received a courtesy phone call making sure everything was okay. One small detail was out of place, but Lisa helped me out and the rest of my stay was pleasant. The beds and bathroom were tidy as well
The Motel 6 here is right off the freeway, near to a gas station and down the street from food. The service is spot on to the point they call every morning to see if there is anything you require for your room (new towels, bedding, more toilet paper) the rooms all have an area to hang clothes, the sink is not in the bathroom and they actually have full shower bath combos. I would give 5 stars but Ive been in a motel that felt like an apartment and I cant compare them.
This was a decent hotel to stay at. But the highway is very loud. They do not offer shampoo or conditioner here. Only bars of soap. The view from the window was of the highway and the chain link fence with razor wire on top. Not the most relaxing. The water was very hot. And the pool is open. They also have an ice machine and washer and dryer.
Very shady place! I always stay in motel 6 while traveling however I did not feel comfortable leaving my vehicle in this parking lot. We woke up to no water, I also spoke with other guests who did not feel comfortable at this hotel. Again I enjoy staying at motel 6 you cant beat the price but I would not recommend going to this one. Im not sure who writes the reviews but Im telling you most of them are false considering I picked this hotel based on the reviews. During our stay there we watch multiple cops come in and out of the parking lot stopping different subjects. There was a drugged out lady in the bushes yelling something about Britney Spears and shouting profanity. Im most definitely would not recommend staying at this hotel.
Room was decent as I had just evacuated due to the valley fire. Staff nice and helpful. Alot of druggie looking people that are super loud and rude. Had numerous people bang on my door. I needed 4 nights but on the third night I stepped on a needle in the parking lot it was that point i checked out and found a new hotel.
This place is disgusting! Initially the room wasnt available even though there had been a reservation made. One hour and a half later we get the room and the card key does not work! After going to the office 3x for a new key card each time ending with the same result they send their security guard to try it, as if I was some deranged person that was incompetent on how to open a hotel room door. Of course he was unable to open it and is advised by the front desk that our room would be upgraded to a 2 bed room free of charde. Supposedly this was to be one of the nicer rooms according to the security guard. I sure would hate to see the conditions of the other rooms if this one is considered to be nicer. ROACHES! The floor was filthy, dead smashed roaches dried out on the walls. Past guests hair in the shower and no paper seal on toilet which makes me wonder if that room had even been properly cleaned. I will NEVER stay here again and I will be sure to warn friends,family and fellow travelers not to bother staying here either.
We stayed at this Motel 2 nights and we had a pleasant experience. It is very clean, comfortable, and great customer service. The location of the Motel is centrally located and easy to reach any destination. The place is very safe has 3 security guards at night walking around checking on things, checking everything is in order. No unsavory people hanging around and noise level is very good. I will return again.
Very friendly and attentive staff. The guy who checked me in (I apologize for forgetting your name) was awesome. He had me checked in within minutes of arriving and on very short notice on the bottom floor just as I asked. Motel 6 is awesome! Bring your pet! And it was actually very quiet and peaceful which I didn’t expect because of the proximity to the freeway. Thanks again Motel 6 for making my stay amazing!
This MOTEL6 is a lot better in cleanliness, and CUSTOMER SERVICE. JUAN checked me in and he checked me I. early. HE HAS AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE . The MOTEL6 in San Ysidro & Chula Vista are horrible. The rooms are filthy, the women at the front desk are rude . ESPECIALLY RAQUEL. The lady that worked last night has the best customer service as well. The prices are very affordable. My room has a fridge & micro.Thank YouMotel6
A experienced a fantastic stay with my family, I was well taken care of and got quick and efficient service by the front clerk Donald. My rooms was met to my specific demands no problem and I was greeted with a smile even when I was in a bit of a foul mood. The Clerks understanding and patients helped me calm down while I was booking my room. A magnificent experience in Motel 6 because of a great staff, staff members like Donald.
Everything was decent except we asked for no cleaning or room service while we stayed there for 3 days and they came into our room and cleaned anyways even tho they said they would not. A little respect would have been appreciated. Also the sink was clogged when we arrived, and when they entered to clean when they said they wouldnt they didnt even bother to unclog our sink that was obviously filled with water.
I stayed 2 nights, a monday and a thursday. Monday was a great stay, nice and comfy. Thursday, not so much. The heater didnt work and after the guy came and fix it, it stopped again. The room smelled like mold.
Motel 6 has always been inexpensive, so expect good basic stuff. Theyre good at what they do. Goldilocks would find the bed acceptable, even if not perfect. Expect soap and toilet paper, but not shampoo and tissue; TV, but no bedside clock/alarm. One reason we all go there is that they let us bring our pets, so be sure you use the provided poop bags.
Traveling from calexico to this location two hours. Upon arrival parking was available although spread out lots of company trucks so be weary of that. Our rooms were not available for another hour due to none being available still. 1 hour goes by in the room walls are pretty thin could hear my neighbors left and right of me door didnt close all the way so light came through although was locked deadbolted and all. Again the other hotel stayers are loud especially upon checkout but that anyone. Room was clean ac was perfect nice setup
I really enjoyed the gentlemen at the counter in check in. He went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. He was also really nice and friendly to everyone. The room was clean and for the most part the housekeeping was nice. It would be nice if somehow I could hang something on my door to say I didn’t want housekeeping instead of getting woke up when I slept during the day by housekeeping. My only major complaints are with the location which was filled with drug addicts knocking on my door asking for someone and coming up to me when I’m in my car asking if I do drugs or wanting a cigarette. I would recommend your location for those who don’t mind those people around and looking for a cheap price with clean room and with a really nice receptionist if that guy is working. Wish I knew his name but he was a tall black gentleman.
As always, the front desk staff was great. Theyre efficient and personable. Their teamwork is amazing. Now the room... the bedspread was dirty and had a foul smell. The toilet seat had nicks and odd scratches. What was even worse than the toilet was that the room had roaches. We shook our items out prior to leaving the room, then again once we got home in Las Vegas. Luckily we did it in our garage because we had a stowaway... yep a roach was tucked away in my bag of shoes.
Im very unhappy with this place. My 81 year old disabled mother had a bad case of diarrhea in the middle of the night, and the manager refused to send anyone in to clean it up, because of Covid. The best he would do was give us cleaning supplies and a change of bed linens and let us do all the work. Im also disabled, and my sister is recovering from foot surgery. I explained this to the manager, but he still refused. My sister had to do all the cleaning, in considerable pain. Zero stars from me!
When I booked online, the rooms looked really nice and the description said clean. When we got to the room, it smelled like cigarettes big time keep in mind I had 2 kids. The whole night their was people outside talking and screaming. And the lights from the outside where so bright we couldn’t sleep and we can see all the shadows of everyone walking. I ended staying somewhere else.:

I had a bad experience with this motel. When I forget my AirPods Pro with a case under my pillow there I asked them to send it or hold and they refused so I sent someone to pick it up and it was damaged and out of the case. I told them to take care of it but they haven’t. The case was totally damaged and has scratches for no reason.
My single room was clean, except for some hair in the bathtub. However, it smelled like cigarette smoke masked with cleaning solution and air freshener. The Front Desk staff was courteous and handled the long check-in line very professionally and courteously. However, I did not feel particularly safe in this hotel by myself. It appears this hotel is doubling as a Section 8 temporary housing facility. I understand that people need assistance and a place to stay and Motel 6 is an economy hotel chain. But for travelers coming to town by themselves or with their children, I would not recommend this hotel. I couldnt wait to get out in the morning.
The rooms are always clean and neat. It is a nice quiet atmosphere especially since it is dog friendly! A little more attention could be paid to the wood floors and the tub but other than that its a perfect stay for our family at the right price.
Room didnt seem fully clean and I got a smoking room just in case I wanted to smoke but I didnt think the room would smell completely of smoke. It smelled like its was in the sheets. Sheets werent fully cleaned. Security guard at night made me feel uncomfortable. I had better stays at other motel 6s.
Very clean and well maintained. Pet friendlyb smoking rooms available. Knowledgeable staff. Very great first impression when i walked in my room. The fresh smell of bleach (in a very subtle but definitely present amount) reassured me that my room was cleaned throughly.
I come here a lot when I am in town visiting family and friends. It used to be a decent choice because, although not the best area or view, the hotel rooms were always clean and price was very fair. My latest visit was lousy. There were cockroaches and the non-smoking room reaked of smoke. There were countless homeless and shady people just loitering. Also they would wandering around our window at all hours of the night. The cops came and made an arrest right when we got there. Not at all a pleasant experience.
All I gotta say is Kim was awesome We had a little bit of a problem with payment and she pulled through like a rock star. All the other staff were 5 stars They went above and beyond to make sure my stay was stellar. Thanks for everything. 😀😀 Emily & Robert
Not terrible, but not good either.The toilet was super small. The bedrooms were tiny, as well. I found a large number of spiders in the room just by looking around the walls/corners.The TV was small and the internet was pretty slow.I know this place is cheap, but Ive had cheaper motels, booked at the last second, that provided better quality rooms.
After driving around for about an hour, this Motel 6 was was the only hotel that had vacancies in the early am, so that was good and the lighting in the bathroom area was decent. Most Ive been too are too dark. However, the floor was dirty, one bed had either a blood stain or possible red marker stain on one bedspread, and the towel rack fell off the wall when I barely touched the towel. Also there was no fridge or microwave and I later found out that was an extra charge, but the lady didnt tell me there was a fridge option, which I needed. They charge per person too, which is odd. During my stay, some alarm went off I think from the building, but I forgot to ask what it was about. People nearby didnt seem worried so it wasnt a big deal. I wont go back, but for needing a place to sleep, it was decent enough for last resort.
The staff are much more friendly then a year ago, the rooms are kept a lot cleaner and pricing is reasonable considering no deposit required . Plus they accept pets at no charge. The floors are hardwood so no worries about fleas for pets . My dog is always happy when we stay here, plenty of grass around the property to walk him . Security walks the parking lot to make sure the cars and people in the rooms are safe . I wish they had some kind of promotion to get free rooms, like stay 9 nights get the tenth free then I would give them a 5 star review . 👍
I first want to say that the service was great!So, the actual location of the motel was sketchy and I felt a little unsafe. I was traveling with my 1 year old so al the homeless people camped outside this location didn’t make me feel very comfortable.Our room still smelled like smoke even thought it was a non-smoking room.We found multiple pieces of hair throughout the bathroom(which is kind of gross). And they were very visible, which tells me that the room wasn’t properly cleaned.Someone knocked on our door at 5:00 in the morning. Now, I understand that motel 6 can’t control if some other guest knocks on our door, but this kind of goes with why we felt unsafe at your motel.
Stayed 4 nights. I stayed because they allow pets with no charge or restrictions.Room was great. Loved the wood laminate floors. Always clean. Comfortable bed. Great color TV with cable/satellite. Fortunately was on ground floor so was easy to bring pet stuff back and forth from car. Price was good too whether booking online or walk-in. $47.54 weekday and $49.52 weekend. Bad thing is people hanging around all hours of the night but they didnt bother any patrons. Saw lots of people with dogs.
Hotel is definitely a budget hotel with few amenities. Room was adequate and clean. Plugs were not convenient. Had to pull nightstand away from wall to plug in phone. Room had a small desk with a chair and a flat screen TV. Bathroom had a curved shower rod with a see-through window to let in light. Next to the check in is a room with vending machines, washing machines, the ice machines, and a microwave. Rooms did not have coffee makers or blow dryers. We stayed during a busy holiday weekend because we were not able to get a room anywhere else during our trip home. The hotel was very well lit on the exterior - a plus. Additionally there is a Chinese restaurant next door with a buffet that was quite convenient (walking distance). The front desk staff were friendly enough and efficient.
I stayed at Motel 6 for 10 days straight due to my new apartment not being ready until the end of the month. The rooms were clean, I had the option to use room service daily, and was able to get clean towels daily, as well. I did not care for the location of the hotel, but that wasnt an issue. My issue with the motel was the first day I checked into the motel, the clerk told me she would put me at the end of the building, away from the office, because its quieter down there. I was happy about that due to having to stay for a long period of time. My question is, does the clerk tell all of the guest this bold face lie? Although the clerk had given me a room at the end of the building, she must have given all of the new guest a room down there as well. My room was located on the first floor and my door was right next to another room door, to the point that they could touch. Mind you, I work the night shift and sleep during the day.Unfortunately, ALL of the guest who entered that room were extremely loud to the point they were yelling and talking loud outside of my room door. I heard babies crying and kids saying mommy mommy, as well. It was ridiculous how loud everyone was. And being on the first floor, we heard everything that went on upstairs, which was insane. It sounded like furniture was being moved DAILY, above me. Other than that, my stay would have been great, but the noise did it for me. I would have given my review 4 stars, if it werent for the extra noise. Im being nice with the 3 stars I gave, honestly.

Ive been staying on and off at the this motel 6 for the past month. I have to say that each every time Ive stayed it has been perfect. Donald the front desk rep has gone above and beyond to make my stay wonderful. Hes very pleasant, friendly and always willing to make sure I had what I needed for the night. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Donald, his service and the hotel. Thank you for making sure your guest were taken care of at all times.
I researched this Motel 6 online before we booked a room, but was still disappointed. This location is advertised as renovated, but the flooring, furniture, and bathroom look old and worn. You get what you pay for, so expect a hard bed, thin pillows, scratchy sheets and towels, and no bathroom samples. The most disappointing part was that I found several long dark hairs in the bed. Probably just from the cleaning staff, but it certainly made me wonder if the bedding had even been washed before my arrival. Overall, the rooms were clean and free of bugs. The property seemed safe and mostly quiet. The front desk staff were excellent. Each member was very polite and eager to help guests.
I made a reservation for a non smoking, first floor room for me and my family and we got the complete opposite. I even explained to the girl in the front desk that I specifically need a non smoking room because my son has asthma but apparently she did not assign it because when I came to check in (which they told me to come back at 3pm) they told me no room was available. Now my sons asthma started up and it cut our vacation short.
This hotel was one of the worst Ive ever stayed in. Travelling with a family of 6 including an 81 year old disabled man, we rented 2 rooms. Check in took forever because they were understaffed, and I was told that despite requesting downstairs nonsmoking rooms, those were already rented out, we could take an upstairs room or nothing at all--and it was after 6 so we were paying for it either way. The rooms were terrible, no carpeting and a horrible paint job in burnt orange that was just uncomfortable. No refrigerator, microwave, not even a little coffee maker, there is NOTHING in these rooms to speak of. The mattresses were thin, lumpy, and uncomfortably small, so much so that my husband and I had to sleep in separate beds with a child each, they were too small for us to fit together. In one room the faucets had no water pressure at all, in the other room there was far too much and the water would come spurting out almost violently and spray everywhere--even reaching outside the sink itself. There were few towels, and when we asked for more the second day we were told that their washer was down so they didnt have any very rudely. The swimming pool was gross with a yellowish cast to the water, I didnt even want my children to go into it and kept coming up with excuses for them to stay out. The walls were paper thin, my children and I heard EVERYTHING going on next door, from the dogs barking to sounds I didnt want to have to explain to my kids. For some reason they block the parking lot off at night, making it difficult to access your room if you come in late. Then there was checkout. First I had to wait 15 minutes in a crowded lobby while a man the workers identified as the manager played on his cell phone and directed them to take messages hed call them back. One girl was working like crazy (she was delightful when she could get to us though), another sat behind a desk staring at the other girl working herself crazy, neither of them offered to help in any way as the lobby grew more and more crowded with 4 people waiting for service. After I finally got my receipt printed, I went out and the manager was still walking around playing on his phone. It was truly pathetic. Do yourself a favor and dont stay here! Motel 6 used to be a far better brand than this, but for 95 dollars a night, I expected much better. The staff doesnt seem to care in the slightest about guest comfort or repeat business and wont be getting any of the latter from me!
The service at check in and check out was fine. Friendly staff. The room reeked of cigarette smoke (there was even an ashtray on the night stand--why? It was a non smoking room!) The floor in the bathroom had dirt along the baseboards, like it was pushed there and left. The wood floors were filthy! My husband took a paper towel with a little water on it and rubbed it on the floor and it was black! The noise level outside our room was horrible! Two men, about 11:00 pm, were talking loudly about the girls that would be showing up later for some fun---what is that about? People around us and above us sounded as if they were wearing clogs. If people live there, fine. We get that. But have some decency and respect! We will never stay at this motel again and probably not at any Motel 6. The quality of the rooms and cleanliness have definitely gone down and yet the price seems to have increased greatly! If I could give it 0 stars I would! When we left my wife said: Well, its over! We didnt say anything to the front office staff because what were they going to do about it. If we had not been exhausted and not known the area we would have left!
Comfortable, quiet and convenient to find and get to work from. Price was fair and the room was well appointed. The view next to the highway could be cleaned up a bit, but even though there was construction outside, it was hard to notice inside the room.Room was also pretty large and there was plenty of space to move around and sit at the table and enjoy dinner. I would recommend adding a couch opposite of the dining table and look into new outlets. The amount of plugs in the bone outlet (TV, microwave, lamp and fridge) looked messy and hazardous. When I got into the room, the fridge was off and thats when I realized the chaos of plugs. The weight of the plugs pulled the adapter out of the wall, thus shutting the appliances off.
I stay in motel 6 up and down the West coast because I have a big dog. The El cajon motel 6 was very accommodating at the front desk Im older woman traveling alone I asked to be put in a room close to the office just to make me feel safe and they accommodated me. And the room was exceptionally clean. So I will be returning to this facility thank you motel 6 these motels are very bare bones however it meets my needs wonderfully
It was a gift for us and our newborn as a new family alone time from the hospital and we ended up leaving within a few hours due to noise and our neighbors were drug users and were fighting out Front of our room harassing us as well as other guests. The front desk clerks were amazing and extreamly helpful and understanding when we asked for our money back and the security staff was very helpful in doing there best. The security took our newborn in to such consideration that it was personal which made us feel comfortable with trusting him with our safty.
Its a decent motel the room that I had was big had a kitchen in it and everything was good size service was good was easy to clean they did most of the setup when theyd come by to clean the room I like it

The rooms are decent and the location is convenient but thats about it. Lots of traffic coming and going through the lot at all hours of the night so make sure your vehicle is secure. Theres also an closed down restaurant next door that has homeless people hanging out with trash and drug paraphernalia littered all around the property. Bottom line is, if you have stay here then only do it to have a place to sleep but dont expect much.
A number of years ago I had to travel quite a bit for work. I quit staying at Motel 6 because most were dumpy. Well Im happy to say that the Motel 6 in El Cajon is fairly nice. My room was clean, when I arrived the AC was on and the bed was fairly comfortable. It is freeway close and there are plenty of places to eat close by. When I say freeway close I mean its really close to the freeway. Their rates are reasonable and the folks that work there are nice and friendly. I would stay here again.
Our room was ready for check in and was spotless which was a plus but the young man at guest services was for better words was inadequate and slow. I have no complains about our room or the parking lot but again the guest services needs a lot more improving or more staff on hand at all tines especially when there is a influx or customers at the front desk. Overall I would stay there again. .
The best part of my stay here is knowing that when Elizabeth is working the front desk, all of my concerns will be covered. Very professional, and genuinely friendly with the guests. I would rent he rt e exclusively just because of how welcome she makes you feel. If only the rest of the property shined as brightly. Take notes 6... you may be on to something here!
Worst stay Ive ever had at this Motel 6. Over the 8 years Ive been visiting San Diego, I always stayed at this Motel 6. The staff was friendly and very helpful, but there were people constantly roaming around the property, some of who were just looking into room windows. I felt very unsafe there and the bed was hard as a rock. One side was concaved like someone had slept on it for years, yet was still extremely hard. The other side was like trying to sleep on a flat boulder. If the floor hadnt been so cold ALL THE TIME, I would have considered trying to sleep on that instead. Between the room lookers, the hard bed, a chair that felt like it would collapse the minute you sat in it, and no real place to relax, Id say pick some place else to stay. Its not worth what they charge at all.
When I first arrived to my non-smoking room and opened the door, it smelled like WEED! Since I do not smoke of any kind, this really bothered me. The only other rooms available was upstairs and I requested a downstairs room due to a leg injury. They did send the house keeper to spray the room, but I feel this should of been done before we got there. It makes me question there cleaning methods. On another note, Liz, the front desk clerk was great and very helpful, but she was not enough to get me to stay here again.
I was grateful for the location of the motel and honestly liked everything. My only complaint is that the bed was hard as a rock and I felt every spring. Im sure it wasnt true for every room and honestly I still slept 11 hours because I was exhausted. Otherwise no problems.
I was pleasantly surprised at the difference in the way things are run. It was about 10 to 12 years ago the last time I stayed there. It is no longer the lively place it was as far as people out and about at all hours. It was very quiet and peaceful and the rooms are much nicer with wood flooring. The only complaint I had was the size of the beds compared to the price I paid
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Mark, Juan, Kim, Lisa, Darrel, including housekeeping and the maintenance team all work very hard to make you feel comfortable here. I have been to 4 other Motel 6 in San Diego, but this one tops all of them.
When I flushed the toilet, nothing went down, instead a lot of water ran all over the floor. I tried to wash my hands, but only a very weak flow of water trickled out. I asked the manager for another room, but he said he did not have any other rooms for either that night, or the next night. He said he would try to have the toilet fixed the next day. Fortunately another room became available for the second night of my stay. When I walked to the room, I noticed two security guards, and two policemen guarding the facility, which made me wonder how safe the motel was. I had to pass by people smoking marijuana to get to my room each night. I was led to believe a light breakfast would be available in the morning, but the next morning when I went to the office, the only thing out was a coffee pot. I travel a lot for photography and stay at a lot of hotels, but the drug parties and lack of plumbing was a first. There were homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk, but they did not have to worry about the lack of indoor plumbing because there was landscaping. Needless to say, I dont plan on staying at a Motel 6 ever again.
The rooms were decently cleaned.But there is a thief among the cleaning staff that stole a $200 silver ring from my room. Ive made multiple phone calls to talk to management about this after having mentioned the issue at checkout. 9 days later I still have not been contacted.No professionalism.Save yourself and go elsewhere!!
Thanks to Donald my stay at the motel 6 was easy, breezy and BEAUTIFUL. Donald is incredibly helpful and sure to brighten up anyones day. The ENTIRE staff is ready to help with anything you need. Incredibly helpful and professional individuals. my room was incredibly clean with a wonderful atmosphere. I was worried staying at a pet friendly hotel that I would get flea bites and not even one bite occurred. If you stay anywhere else. You are short selling yourself. Thank you DONALD!!
The staff was very accommodating and helpful. I wish they had a refrigerator or microwave in the room and t.v. channel selection could have more extensive. However, for as a clean shower and a nice place to lay your head on clean sheets, Id highly recommend it.
Me and my son worked a 16 hour shift and wanted to take a nice warm shower when we got to our room. Well that didnt happen because the hotel had no hot water . that it would be fix in 2 hrs . so I asked the front desk to call me to let me know when it was back on. They never called me. So the next day when I checked out at 8am I told the front desk i never had hot water and all he said to me was sorry about that and that the manager is aware of the problem. Thanks for nothing . so I was charged full price
The room was next to the pool, and still very quiet. The shower was bigger than most hotels Ive stayed in, Im a large fellow! So, A++ just for that and the WiFi is Free now. Overall I had a good time and a restful day.
Service at front desk was awesome,but first room i had reserved had mold/black mold around the shower. So i blame your cleaning department for that,but when i addressed the problem she was able to help me right away and got me another room. So the 4 stars is for the womans fast help
The check-in was smooth and the chick working was super friendly. The room was nice and comfortable with a bathtub to soak in and everything. But I had problems with people arguing loud with each other and stomping their feet on the ground. This didnt stop until 1 a.m. I was super ill with a stomach bug and this room was listed as a room for someone disabled. I thought this was going to be a therapeutic environment but it wasnt at all. I called reception numerous times and nothing was done. They lied to me and said nobody was upstairs but I know better than that. It sounded like a 100 people up there.
Both times Ive booked here Ive had some kind of issue with my reservation. Darrell checked me in I felt like he was high and didnt really know what he was doing. Elizabeth and Wendy helped out in the end as best they could I suppose. Overall no issue with room.
For the price I was expecting more. Didnt feel comfortable staying there, they always have a security guard around. Room had bare minimum. Ive been to nicer places that cost less. Water pressure was fine. Room smelled like it covered up smoke. I will never book a motel 6 again after this stay.
If you are on a work crew and have to stay for a period of time beware. Im a 66 year old Vet and receive medicine through the mail. Well this motel will send your medicine back because for some reason this place refuses to take any mail. Which caused me ending up in the emergency room. I will never stay at this dirty motel again .
My stay there has always been great. Staff is very helpful and friendly as well as the Security. Staff always responds to your needs immediately and if they cant at the present moment they will. A staff member even remember to bring me towels even though he was off already he still brought them to me.
Im glad to write this negative review. The TV wasnt functioning, the sink area was dirty, people CAMPING out in the parking lot (just hope that your car doesnt get broken into), and the front desk was terrible. I found multiple hairs on both beds bed sheets and asked if they could change the sheets for me, then they told me to walk down and do it myself. Excuse me? I payed for a clean room to stay in, not a self-service dump.
I needed an inexpensive, clean, comfortable room for the night and this was it. The location was perfect for my needs. Ive read some negative reviews about sketchy people hanging around at night here, but this was not a problem for me. I felt safe. There were a few noisy guests, but it didnt go on too late. I will stay here again.
We went on Labor Day weekend. Paid for 2 nights, but checked out after one night. NOT kid friendly. Insulation is terrible. You could hear every conversation outside your room. Non-smoking room has heavy cigarette odor. Linens were not fresh. Spiders were all over our room. We killed 3 within the 1st hour of entering the room. Sketchy people living/staying/around the complex. People openly using drug paraphernalia outside their rooms and in their cars. Partying and blasting music openly until 3AM. The TVs were tiny, probably 22 at most. Literally the worst hotel stay Ive had in my life.
Poor cleanliness, old and cigarette burned linens (in a non-smoking room) but worst of all a couple in the room above us who never sat still, never took their shoes off and screamed and yelled at each other at the top of their lungs. We had booked a 5 night stay but could not take it anymore after the second night. Called front desk to complain both nights. Desk clerk not real helpful but did say he would send security. As far as we could tell security never came. Never again in Motel 6!
Great location for what I had to do. Someone was pulling on our door at 3am. Someone was knocking on an upstairs room for 45 minutes at 1 am. Didnt get much sleep and even with security guards I didnt feel safe. The guard should have done something without us having to call for him twice. If other motels took pets, i would have relocated
-The fire dept and an ambulance were wheeling someone out of a room when we pulled in, very reassuring.-Very shady area, there seems to be a permanent homeless settlement next door at some abandoned building. I wasnt comfortable parking here to be honest. Make sure to bring all valuables inside the room. They do have security but thats a grain of salt if anything goes wrong.-Room was filthy overall, there was a huge black hair right on the tub next to the fresh foot towel, how is that missed by staff?-Floors were also filthy, need a good deep clean or just a mopping.-AC barely works.-Card reader on the door was partially broken, but it worked-One of those lovely adjoining rooms with a door in between, so we could get to hear and know the transient living next door.-No fridge/microwave/coffee pot.-No Shampoo/conditioner provided.-No cleaning service of any kind muh cvid Riiight.-No Coffee provided. Still using the mah covid garbage nonsense to further defraud and steal money. Ive stayed at plenty of hotels during cvid that offered coffee, breakfast etc etc Been in packed bars with no masks of any kind etc etc-No tissue boxes/tissues.-Overall was a very dirty place, uncomfortable, staff was fine but not a recommend. 2/5
Im not usually a picky person, but good lord this place is definitely ghetto. I use their hotels all over just because I travel with my pet. I get a non-smoking room, (Smelled like an ashtray), and I found cigarettes underneath the TV. I brush it off, whatever, I have my family with me. We all go to use the restroom only to find someone else occupying space. There were roaches everywhere in the sink and bathroom. Probably the worse Motel 6 Ive honestly been to. Small perk, staff was nice and they provided security overnight with barricades.
Location was near where I was planning on going but will not stay here again. Walls are paper thin, the room above was being worked on (hammering, slamming, stomping, dropping and etc). Room was clean and employees were friendly. Chinese Buffet next door was good. Location was close to I-8 and could get to anywhere from the hotel. No frig in the room was a bummer but doable.
It should not take over 20 minutes for 3 of us to check in. There was no one in front of us. There was quite a line when we left.I reserved 2 rooms a month ago. The rooms were far apart so we asked if one room could be closer. That eventually was done, but the price was different than what I had on paper. I was then told that there was an extra cost for a 2nd person using the double room, even though I reserved for 3 people. There was nothing on line about charging for another person. We didnt appreciate that surprise. We eventually got a 10% discount because we are seniors. Nothing on line about that .Check in took longer than any place we have ever been. I felt sorry for all the weary people waiting to check in when this should have been a simple transaction!Got to our room and my key did not work....had to go back to the desk and ask for another while those same people were waiting in line.Please provide Kleenex or tissue in rooms.Also, the coke machine ate my $2.00 and no one could anything about it. A frustrating evening!
Great value, Management very dedicated to guests safety and respectful to everyone. I aways feel safe secure and comfortable in my many stays there. Always my first choice in the San Diego area.
Hotel and grounds were clean, easy access to FWY but traffic noise was high. Should have spent some $ for alarm clock in rooms rather than ashtrays with NO smoking sign on them..Beds were not very comfortable eitherWould have expected higher quality rooms for the rates. As we were leaving their were 4-5 police vehicles in parking lot actively searching a vehicle
First off, the front desk personnel is very friendly, very professional. The only complaint I have is that the room smells so bad. When booking online it doesn’t have enough info that the room got no fridge and microwave. I stayed 3 nights. Bathroom is okey. I hope they’ll add it. Also, after 10 pm they will close the gate for security and safety reason which is good but it’s little annoying Coz when you have to go out and bring your car out and coming back in they’ll make sure you’re a listed as guest or if you bring friends you have to register it at the front desk and pay for extra. Super strict but understandable.
The room was not clean. The baseboard were coming unglued. The light in bathroom flickered. The vent in the bathroom was not in place. There was hair in the tub. There were also bugs I. The Floor was not swept or mopped. The light by bed only one was working. I can’t believe you all charged $127.74 for that room. That room was not worth it. NEVER STAYING IN A MOTEL 6 AGAIN. That was the most disgusting room I have been in.
Very loud at night. Rooms were clean and they are pet friendly. Very large trucks start up early in the morning so theres no sleeping in. Homeless in and out of parking lot. There was a woman selling something out of her car and she had a few homeless individuals come to her room seemed a bit shady.
Clean and quiet rooms. Only one vehicle entrance, the second one has a locked gate. The wifi is great!
Id like to respond to you I did contact guest relations and I was emailed a letter giving me a free night at any motel 6. Then when I got there they took it away saying first did not give the letter then they said they should not have., and now refuse to honor it. And I am sorry but that is how youre hotel is I stayed here a year ago and it was the same, was hoping you had cleaned it up but it has not changed. Corporate knows and does not care. Just like when I reported it to the staff before I left they did not seem to care much either. And I have seen your people clean before not very well, Ive seen them mop outside a room and then take that same mop and mop inside the room with it, thats gross, corporate owns this location they should care more than they do.
Horrible. Just horrible. I got to my room with wet blankets. The water pressure had little to no pressure at all. Customer service at the front office were not professional. They weren’t helpful what so ever. Told us if we read the policy and agreement that we would know the answer to our questions. Also be aware nobody can visit after 10pm. I was not aware of this checking in. It feels and looks like a prison! It’s not a 5 star hotel. Let me get to my hotel room please! I check out tomorrow, never coming back again.
Awful experience. Was charged twice because the website double booked my reservation. The reservation was made after 6pm so they said they could not accommodate a refund due to the refund policy. Eventually made an exception and processed my refund. Was guaranteed a non-smoking room which wreaked of cigarette smoke. Then asked if they could accommodate me in switching rooms to one that did not smell. I was switched to a different building and it smelled equally as bad. I immediately left and checked out, because there was no way I was going to be able to sleep in those conditions. So ultimately, I was charged TWICE for a room I did not sleep in. Zero stars if I could give it.
This place is amazing wonderful customer service. The room was very clean no one hanging around the building. They have a team of security officers in site which is very good. They provide a courtesy call to all guest an the ladies at the front desk is amazing. I give this motel 6 a 5 star rating an would be glad to recommend this one to anyone
Lisa, Juan and the rest of the staff are super friendly and truly want guests to have a comfortable stay. The room itself was SPOTLESS - you could eat off the floor. And an extra special kudo and thanks to Alexa, who went out of her way to handle an issue of less-than-courteous fellow guests. Thanks, guys!
The staff was friendly and the room was clean but the room was not much bigger than a walk in closet and the bed seemed smaller than a queen. I was only there 1 night so made it work, overall it was okay. Just disappointed in the size of the room and still not sure the bed was a queen.
Clean, quiet but Spartan.1. Furnishings minimal. No shelf near sink for toiletries is example.2. 1 wooden desk chair in room, otherwise sit on the bed.3. If pool is closed or weather bad there’s nowhere for 2 people to sit together.4. They advertise WiFi but didn’t work in our room. Signal weak.5. Lots of “charity” cases appear to occupy premises. Did not cause a problem while I was there, but they do have a uniformed security guard walking around.
I truly enjoyed my stay here! The room looked just like the photos! Clean, beautiful. Staff was amazing and very accommodating! I stayed 2 nights and it was quite pleasant and comfortable. Ill recommend to all and will visit again soon. Great job guys!
Room looked good at first. Dont really have high standards but I dont think they truly cleaned the room after the last guest. Towels had hairs on them, barely any linen on them, plus a conspicuous stain. Bed sheets had a few dead bugs found an ant and I think a couple shells of some other kind of bug. I flipped the sheets over and theres a bunch of random stray hair... Guess you get what you pay for!Quick edit, front desk allowed me to switch rooms free of charge. I will be changing my review from 1 to 4.
This was the worst experience I have ever had at a motel 6. we were told when we checked in and initially the in engineering will be there for a couple days changing out the doors. They wound up being there for like 7 to 10 days. Not to mention we told maid service that we would not want anything till after 1 p.m. . They still continuously knocked on her doors from 9 to 11. the first day that they actually didnt knock on our door was the day the engineering came by to change out our door lock. I would never stay at this hotel again. The only reason we stayed there was because it was the cheapest and the area and we were visiting our marine son and his wife who is due to give birth. I would like some kind of payment or voucher or something to make up for this. Absolutely ridiculous. Did not get a good night sleep the entire time we were there. Thank you I like Molly calianno
Mark, the manager has been awesome. We’ve been here longer than planned and between Kim and Allen at the front desk, all the way to Miguel the security guard… everyone has been very welcoming and warm. I would recommend this place too anyone!
Ive stayed at this Motel 6 at least 25 times. I want to say that the staff have always been nice and accommodating. 99% of the time things go smoothly and if there are issues they deal with it in a satisfactory manner. Ive had a few oddball situations occur, but hey, this is El Cajon, a few oddball things are bound to happen when you throw a bunch of people in The Box.
Nice rooms, good service, A/C works great.... Only problem I had out of the 5 nights was finding insects in the room. No bed bugs ! Only spiders and other insects. I found the reason is because the door to the room was not properly sealed along the bottom... there was an inch gap.

I went to check in before 3 and was told I cant because a room wasnt ready yet because the housekeepers were just getting back from lunch?I didnt get a room until 4. A few things were not quite right in the room but considering I was just there to see my grandchildren a few miles away that I havent seen in a year I would say that I would stay there again for the money I paid. Im not too picky.
Room was fine: clean, bed comfortable. I was irritated to learn that Internet service had a charge, and did not use it. Unfortunately, there was the usual noise I have come to expect at a Motel 6 - kids running on the walkways next floor up, people in room above me moving about and dropping things regularly all evening, people walking by and talking right up to the point I fell asleep (after 11:30 both nights.) There was also confusion about my reservation, I made it clear on the phone, and the person seemed to understand it, but I had to miss the first night (unable to get into town then) and knew I would forfit the charge (which was ok, as it was my fault), but then it seemed that my not being there Thursday meant they cancelled the next day/Friday of the reservation and only had me down for Saturday. Fortunately, the gal was able to correct it and got me a nice room on the ground floor, which I was grateful for.On another matter, it seemed the lawn in front of the property is regularly used by the local homeless community, which didnt please me as I was towing a race car trailer with an extremely valuable car inside. Fortunately, nothing happened, but I would have thought that this situation with the vagrants could have been prevented.
My 3 day stay was very pleasant.Elizabeth who checked me in accomadated me for an early check-in and a room with a fridge and microwave. She was nice and knowledgeable . There is a security guard to my surprise which was nice. My room was clean and pretty. The service maids came by daily to make beds and do trash and where always available, they really cleaned up motel 6 in el cajon. I will stay again.
It is decent. A little expensive for what you are getting but this is california. They need to get a handle on the pets/dogs leaving their waste around the property and no one cleans it up sadly. That is my main gripe because it brings flies and a bad smell. But the rooms have everything you need to be comfortable.
I needed a place to stay for my kid, myself and my 3 cats and a pit bull.while my apartment was being tented. the best deal was motel 6. i was worried about the hotel being funny. I was extremely happy with the rooms having hard wood floors. there were lots of people with dogs. the staff was friendly and i would stay here again. i would even take my pets with me more often when taking a trip.
Ive been a long time customer. I usually stay 2 times a year when visiting family. The grounds are always kept nice. The rooms have always been nice for a motel 6. However this trip, there was a fight upstairs which made me nervous. However, security showed quickly to resolve it. But what got me this time was my room. I would rate the room a MINUS 4 stars. They shouldnt rate at all. The only reason I have one star is the customer service from the front desk. He tried to help me each time I came in. Long story short, I switched to a new room. It checked it thoroughly and its ok....Now my issue, there was hair on my clean towel, in the tub, and the sheets look like it was selpt in.....I took pictures and showed the front desk. They didnt have clean sheets so he gave me a clean blanket and all fresh towels.When I pulled all the sheets off of the bed, there was a hard crusted seamon stain and blood drops on the mattress cover..... Im totally grossed out.Check your room very carefully!
Service and rooms were great except the mattress has seen better days. It had two big holes in the middle and in the morning my back was paying the consequences 😒
The rooms were nice with the hardwood floors and the color decor. Due to the tenants there at the time I did not feel safe, so I ended up leaving for the night with plans to stay in my car, that’s how uneasy I felt staying there alone as a woman. I felt more security in finding a spot on the street in the residential area so that I may sleep in my car than in that motel. I was upset because I couldn’t get my money back for the night so it was wasted money, but I rather waste the money than to feel unsafe.

Had no problem until the maids claimed that the room i rented smelled lik cigarettes. Ive never smoked a cigarette a day in my life. Shes just mad cus she didnt do her job correctly an had to come fix her laziness when I checked in.
The service is great- I love everybody that works the front desk. Housekeeping and security staff, too. They require no deposit- it helps for those of us that dont have credit cards. The rooms are very basic, which keeps daily rates down. The location is great- everything from 7-11 to the mall is within walking distance. They are also pet friendly. And the pets get to stay for free! LOVE it.Note: If youre an animal lover and you decide to stay at this Motel 6, keep an eye out for cats... There are six of them that adopted the area and theyve been affectionately dubbed The Motel Six. Only 2 of The Motel Six are truly feral, so feel free to love on the others. They are happy and healthy cats and TNR efforts are still in progress for 2 of the remaining unaltered cats as of Dec. 8th, 2018. :)

2024-05-19 00:30:40I came to this motel at an all time low. I needed a roof and bed and they provided. I did not expect to receive any service or kindness during my stay. My only regret is not knowing the names of all the staff who have made my stay a soul nourishing and calming experience. There truly is no judgement here. Maria P has been assigned to my room, 187. She always waves and smiles through the window while I am in. She took my disparate room into a magazine worthy estate. She has shown me how to live a better life and have pride in my surroundings. Thank you to all that are here at this location. You are remarkably empathic, joyous, and diligent. I should be Motel 6 and your carefully selected staff to make this a five star experience. Because of my time here, I will forever be a dedicated and loyal patron. Thank you for providing me comfort. You are truly the best. My only hope is that this review leads to promotions and pay raises. The people here deserve it. I cannot wait to stay again!

2024-04-18 15:02:41The room seemed pretty clean. The bed was a torture device. It belonged in the dump. Cigarette burn hole in the blanket. The air conditioner unit just did what it wanted no matter what the setting. There was a man outside screaming at 11 pm one night. The last night I couldnt potty my dog because it didnt feel safe with the group of people loitering outside my room starting around 9 pm. Horrible experience.

The ac didn’t work very well even on full blast, the bathroom light flickered each time it was turned on, walls are thin, the wifi/service didn’t work well at all, there were 2 teen roaches and few ants in the room. The floor never got cleaned and the bed was made poorly.. The people working there were nice though and i had no issues with them.

2024-03-18 18:32:03I have stayed here for over 2 weeks now this place is great to stayCustomer service is great I have dealt with Brianna at the front desk she is so great and nice. Always with smile on her face . Managers are great as well very friendly .house keepers are good they clean very good . Overall I really enjoy the stay and the customer service that they have here at this motel 6 Wil stay again

I had a horrible experience, last time i stayed,before this stay, that is how I could say Mark, for sure will take time to to listen and rectify your issues. I am impressed with his professionalism,customer service is 100% and because of Mark is the only reason I will ever stay at Motel 6 el cajon ca. Corporate for sure made the best decision in their management,with Mark,Thank You
