We went on a Tuesday night and there was nobody, but the food is excellent, service is good, feel bad they didn’t have more customers, and they had a deal of buy one get one half off on the rolls. Everything was wonderful and they validate parking in the lot too! Highly recommend it!!!

I was in the valley and wanted sushi take out. Found this spot on Yelp and loved that they had a 15% off coupon for checking in on Yelp so I tried it out. When I ordered on the phone the lady was very nice and said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I got there 20-25 minutes later and it was not completely ready but they were very apologetic about it so I didn’t hold it against them because it was short and I was able to check out the restaurant. The place is small and on the 2nd floor right when you get off the escalator. They have outside and inside eating. There were only about 4 parties (mostly outside) eating here. I was surprised it was so empty on a beautiful Saturday night. I ordered the spicy edamame, spicy tuna on crispy rice, and a salmon avocado roll with a side of eel sauce to go. I was excited to try the food, the salmon avocado roll was ok and very big. I normally like my seaweed inside of the roll not outside. The fish tasted fresh though. The spicy tuna on crispy rice was good, loved that it came with spicy Mayo and eel sauce. And the spicy garlic edamame was ehh. I’m used to more flavor with it, but maybe it was like that because I got it to go. All in all I’d give the service an A and the food a B. There was nothing special about this place but I would still come back and try something different because the people were really nice, food’s ok, it’s convenient, and quick. I’ll make sure to update this post when I do.And P.S, if you park in the lot in the back, make sure to get your ticket validated. I was in there for 5 minutes and the cashier tried to charge me $3 after he told me I had free parking for 2 hours. But he gave me a pass and said he told me “2 hours free with validation” so now I know for next time

The shashimi was fresh, and the chicken teriyaki tasted amazing! Service was really quick and kind; the food was served swiftly. The bento box was also delicious, alongside it having a lot of food. Highly recommend this restuarant if you are starving and desperate for sashimi or sushi!

The sushi is always super fresh, and the chefs are on top of it - no long waits or funky outcomes. Its my favorite local spot for sushi and bento. 👍They HAVE forgotten my wasabi on my last few delivery orders, which is a bit of a downer.

Im so sorry to have to update my review from last month but there is new management at Nomura and they made some weird changes to their menu and food. Also everything is more expensive. I would not recommend this place anymore. Its so sad because we would go every month and have great dinners. My kids were so sad. I dont know what happened to the previous management but Im hoping to find out they opened a new place and maybe I can find them again.Old review -Amazing sushi and great service! They also have great kids meals. We eat here at least once a month!

Ive been to quite a few sushi places in the valley over the last 20 years, and I am not afraid to say that Nomura is the best Ive had in the area. Bold claim, yes. I will die on that hill.Situated on the 2nd floor of a shopping plaza on Ventura Blvd, Nomura has cozy spots with plenty of seating both inside and outside.The nigiri and sashimi are excellent with some unique offerings on/off the menu. The fish is very fresh, which makes all the difference between good and mediocre sushi. We were treated to fresh uni that just arrived that day and it was buttery fantastic. The fish-to-rice ratio with the nigiri is near perfect (some places dont get this right). The toro was melt-in-your mouth fantastic - comparable to what youd find at Hide Sushi west LA, which is the gold standard.The rolls were also amazing, well-portioned, and skillfully prepared as well without overdoing it with the sauce.Prices are quite reasonable to add.The presentation is quite lovely as well...just check out the pictures!Highly recommend!

Nomura Sushi, is amazing. The value here is fantastic. I highly recommend coming here and ordering large Sashimi plates. They do not skimp. These pieces are huge and it is awesome! You will eat a lot of fish here. One of the better sushi places in Sherman Oaks.

Delicious! Great prices. $30 per person All You Can Eat. Does not include Sashimi but includes Sushi. They validate parking. Rolls are a decent size and the fish is good, not the best Ive had, but very good for the price. Staff is very friendly and nice.

Ever since we moved to this neighborhood, we have tried every sushi spot. Nomura sushi is hands down our go-to local restaurant. The staff is super friendly, the chef sometimes comes out and has drinks with us. Their fish selection is always fresh and high quality. The menu is fairly priced and they have some great items on their menu. We always get the shishito peppers and yellowtail sashimi. Sake and Sapporo too of course!

First time visiting and definitely enjoyed our time. Our waiter was very attentive and professional.Tried just about everything with salmon and tasted fresh and flavorful with some orders that had the cream cheese. The Golden Tiger and Baked Philly Roll were our favorites. They also had patio seating which helps with current situation of the world. Overall a great experience and good staff and service .

This place is absolutely amazing - I’ve gone back twice in the last two weeks. The fish is so fresh! They have a great selection of rolls, definitely a good balance of actual Japanese sushi with a good mix of the “Americanized” saucy, sushi rolls.

The sushi is great, but Im really upset that they stopped providing chopsticks without telling me. We didnt have any at home and struggled to eat our food with forks. If youre not going to include chopsticks, ask me if I need them when I pick up food, even if there is a charge for them; its common customer courtesy.

This sushi restaurant is one of my favorites because they serve such large sashimi and sushi portions! The fish is fresh and delicious! The staff friendly and helpful. And even at a reasonable price. My usual spot for sure, funny how I only came here once as a kid, even though its right next to ultrasound. Now I come here twice a month.

Sushi was decent, but we watched our server drop multiple appetizer dishes we ordered to the table next to us, and when he returned and they told him it was the wrong order he would take it off their table and put it on ours. That’s unacceptable and against health code, let alone during a pandemic. When I brought it to his attention, his response was “they didn’t touch it” and then charged us for it. Probably won’t return as I question the professionalism and standards if they don’t abide by health code.

I was there in the afternoon. The bartender/day server named Braxton made me an Old Fashion and I asked to add simple (syrup) in it and it was damn near perfection! I also got The Kitchen Sink, it was pretty good, but I like my dressing and had to ask twice for more.My boyfriend got the 3-way mac n cheese with pulled short rib on top, it’s good but VERY heavy.Thank you so much see you next time

My new All-You-Can Eat spot. Sushi is very good, fresh, and decently priced. They offer All-You-Can Eat for Lunch and Dinner. If you have a large group, call ahead because its a small spot. They also offer beer and sake specials. The staff is very nice and attentive. I recommend you order (just to name a few): the yellow tail sushi with jalapeno; the seared albacore; the spicy scallop handroll; and the eel sushi. Check it out!

First time here & it was so delicious! Being seated at the bar was neat & we werent forgotten at all, thanks to Collin. Hes very attentive and super sweet. Thanks so much for making us feel welcome.The restaurant was busy when we got there, but he and the other servers always checked on us and even refilled our waters when I hadnt even realized that I drank it all.I like the salmon sashimi, Baked Alaskan, & Garlic chili edamame.The other rolls we had were great too. They didnt disappoint thats for sure!Also 10/10 recommend getting the macaron dessert!! I always hesitated on buying it whenever I saw it, but I am SO glad my gf & I got to try it that night. Its so delicious, Im already craving for another.

Ive always said that getting enjoyable sushi is about managing your expectations. If you feel like a deep fried roll, or some tempura, this place might be able to do it for you. But it has painfully mediocre sushi. Borderline bad. Staff was friendly, though. I would never come back here, my stomach feels unhappy.

When we moved here it took us a long time to find great sushi. Then we found Nomura and it is by far our favorite place. Even our picky toddlers love their California rolls, and we cant go a week without grabbing a Red Dragon or a Rainbow. Had food delivered via Doordash. Pretty disappointing. Fish on the sushi was very small and a bit warm. Sushi rice was dry. 2 orders were missing. Not sure if thats the restaurant or Doordash to be fair. One thing that bothered me the most was putting $12 orders in 3 cent plastic boxes that are too small. Something about stacking a tuna roll so it looks like a pile of rice with something in it seems like a bad idea. I order through Doordash often and the food usually gets here looking great. This was a mess.

Understaffed and poorly-managed! Ordered via doordash and scheduled pickup. Arrived at restaurant 25 minutes after placing the order, and was told I would have to wait more than an hour for the food because they have not even started making it. Behind me were two other doordash customers, they were told it would be a longer wait. This restaurant is to understaffed to handle those folks that come to the restaurant as well as doordash orders.

Came in at 915, google says they close at 1030. We were seated by the host and then he came over 10 mins later telling us we had to leave since they were closing soon. After we were seated. Nomura Sushi is pretty good. Dont judge or rate their restaurant by the crappy parking that is available. The sushi here is the best. The owner used to work for a place called Shiki and now he has his own sushi place. This place has the best sushi in town. The cuts of the sashimi is very nice and very filling. For a big guy like me, I was full after a combo sashimi plate. Wow! Wish my uncle from HK couldve been here, he wouldve enjoyed this place as well. I definitely will come back here again.

Quality sushi at an unassuming spot next to laser tag, its at the second floor of the commercial complex. Great carpaccio, yellowtail jalapeño, and I like Nomura roll because of the real crab meat, yum!! Seaweed & cucumber salad has really good portion compared to many other sushi restaurants, plus, they give you miso soup for free. Service is courteous & we would definitely add this sushi place to our valley list! Parking entrance is at the side street and the restaurant validate your ticket. Happy eating!

I dont understand whats so special in this special rolls, regular cheap made imitation crab stick which is the regular California roll and on the top couple pieces of scallops $13 called baked scallops roll, not worth the money at all, nothing special about the other special rolls, baked salmon roll made it with farm-raised color added salmon dont even think to order that looks like this people dont even care about the quality of the food, buf only about the money
