The people were great and the location was great but the rooms don’t match the pictures. Our chair in our room was stained the toilet seat needed to be changed out. The room needs to be updated badly. Everything was hard to tell if it was clean or not because it was so old. Could be great when it’s all updated to what the pictures look like but not yet.
The room we got was a kingbed that also had a separate room with a full bed in it. Really nice. The room looked recently updated and was very pleasant and relaxing. Very nice bathtub and bathroom felt like it had heated floors? Very nice. Our first night was perfect, no noise after about 10pm. Unfortunately the second night we had very loud guests above us who kept us awake until about 2am. Really wish people could understand that they can ruin someone elses vacation by selfishly behaving like they are the only guests that matter. It was a 6 hour drive home on very little sleep.But, the motel was very nicely kept and I would stay again, I would just hope for better fellow travelers. 😊
The pictures did not match the appearance of the room that we were in, so it seems as though only one or some of the rooms were remodeled, and those were the rooms used for the website pictures. Our room was very old & outdated & had a very old and stained bathroom, with a loud bathroom fan that didnt work. Also, couldnt turn on the bathroom light without turning on the loud, broken fan. There were no tissues in the room, and there was only one old, stained & broken office-style chair in the room for seating. The bed was hard, but many pillows were provided. The location was convenient to down-town Fort Bragg, though! We were always able to find a parking spot near our room. We will not stay here again.
Check in was a breeze, told us they had grab bags in the morning for a “light breakfast”- granola bar, muffin, fruit, along with coffee. Great, would save us a trip for breakfast.Room was clean, quiet & parking was easy. Quick walk to Glass Beach & downtown for dinner. Upon leaving in the am, they had coffee, but no lids for the cups & no “grab bags”. Oh well, no big deal, it wasn’t advertised when I booked anyways.Only complaint was the smoking next to the rooms was not enforced. Wasn’t going to cause an issue since he could tell we were annoyed already after having to constantly close our door & window.
Our room was clean, the desk clerk was very friendly and the hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to the beach, downtown and the train station. Its a budget hotel with reasonable prices. I find it kind of funny how other reviewers are complaining about the property, location and bad WiFi (Ft Bragg is cell/WiFi dead zone-not the hotels fault). If you want a luxury experience, there are several locations in Ft Bragg for that. If youre traveling on a budget, this place is great! And the little restaurant in front served a delicious breakfast too!
Other than being walking distance to the Skunk Train and a very nice restaurant, this motel is not a place to visit twice. The shampoo and conditioner was half full which led us to believe it had been used. We threw it in the garbage so they couldnt reuse it again. There was no working wifi. The description on line said they had breakfast available. A brown bag that had an apple, cheese-its, a muffin, and a chewy granola bar was not my idea of breakfast. Dont flush the toilet while someone is taking a shower because you will burn their skin! The lady at the desk at check out was rude. She snapped at me when I looked inside the brown bag breakfast at check out. They left one cup in the room for coffee when we had 2 people checking in. The floor was dirty and I wore socks the whole time so my feet would not get dirty.
The room was completely infested with flies and the bathroom had dead flies on the floor and on the towels. Soap dispensers were also empty. Would not recommend
Room needed a deep clean. Our white socks became very dirty quickly. Corners in bathroom had built up gunk.Staff was professional and kind. Continental Breakfast needs to be reworded to “Four snack items in a paper bag”. I’m gluten intolerant and couldn’t eat three of the four items. Weak wifi and one bar of service in our room made trip planning difficult. Loud breezeways. Neighbors woke us up very early. Perfect location for beach access.
Clean room, easy access. Heater warms up the room pretty quick. Parking spot right in front of the door made it easy for access and safety.
Gentleman at check in was awesome. Location is very convenient. Giving service 1 star as the lady working the front desk before 3pm first night and am shift at check out had ZERO customer service. She was rude and very short with all of us that stayed this weekend. Rooms were not as nice as the photos looked either. Hair from prior guest in the shower. Will look elsewhere next time I come to Fort Bragg.
Lots of issues with this place.1) The owner has put up a misleading photo that gives you the impression that they would have a beachfront view. The front desk rep told us that many customers have the same complaint but the owner refuses to take it down.2) We had an extremely loud AC unit that barely worked. Talk about a letdown.3) The free breakfast was a snack pack that consisted of a muffin, apple, granola bar, and Ritz crackers.4) The building exterior looks run-down and ugly.
I really wanted to like this place! Its a good location, right on highway 1 and right next to glass beach. The rooms are clean which is nice. This is where the pros stop. The rooms are so basic to the point where you have no room to set anything (ie no dresser). Very limited breakfast aka snack bags. Nearly impossible to get your room serviced too (no one told us the room cleaning rules). No bar soap when we asked for more.The wifi was abominable and to be fair we were warned of this, but amazing that it didnt work more than it worked.
I booked this place once and was not very satisfied with some of the accommodations, so needless to say, I gave it a very low review and expected nothing more as usual, since this was not the first motel I booked thru Expedia. To my surprise, the property manager replied and offered a free nights stay! He even upgraded the room and promised a better experience than the previous one. Indeed, he held up to that promise! Much much better improvement than the first time! I want to also mention that the place is close to Glass Beach and pretty much every other beach in the area. You got Starbucks down the street, Rite Aid, and I think Safeway is not that far down, so its a very convenient location all in all. Much better experience we had on the second round, and above all, you have a really cool and very friendly receptionist (Ken) greeting guests! You guys did a great job trying to keep your guests happy! I am sorry, I cant remember if the managers name were Joe or Joey, but I want to thank you so much for your hospitality and I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family, no doubt! Since the second stay was not thru Expedia so I couldnt review our stay thru them, but I believe this would do the promoting for this place just fine. Great way to do business, and if we ever drive up that way again, this would be the place to stay!
My husband and I are fron England and had flown into Boston MA, this hotel was booked as part of our journey to San Francisco,to visit our son, to be honest as it was 22.30 before we arrived we had no other choice but to stay the night.The gentleman who was on recrption was very welcoming and gave us our room key .The room we were given had no soap just three containers of Conditioner, I went to place a drink bottle in the fridge to be greated by a food container, i then checked bed side table and found there was something left there. Hence housekeeping not doing there job properly.I went to reception where the person duty was most appologetic and moved us to another room which turned out to be an Accessability room, it had cheap plastic pumps containing hand and shower gel and shampoo the last one was conditioner. When you used the pump the liquid dripped onto the floor.We were told it had previously belonged toTravelodge and that they were working to upgrade it. The paint job was sloppy, they seem to think having a towel which has their OMEO logo on it and a Bathrobe was more important that good decor.The place looks tatty.We were advised that coffee and snacks was available from 8am, when we came hand our keys in I saw no snacks, the coffee cups when filled you could not hold it, there were no sleeves to put around the cups.The lady who was on reception was not exactly a friendly person on our checkout.My husband and I would not recommend OMEO as a place to stay, if it had not been so late at night when we arrived, we would most definately not have stayed and I would have forgone the money I paid for the room and moved onto someewhere else.
After the staff there graciously fixed my boo boo of booking the wrong night and giving me a more expensive room for no extra charge (the very last room!) I was a fan. But beyond that the room was spotless, fresh and clean and smelled clean. Updated with quality work, stuff not crooked or weird, nice wainscotting. Plenty of parking. I did have a bit of trouble finding it from the google map...but that was just me...a nice big sign would be nice but they did have flags out front...I just missed them! I would definitely go back and probably will and would definitely recommend it to friends!
Walking distance to Glass Beach! Cafe 1 is a wonderful restaurant attached to the hotel. Minutes from “main street” shopping/museums. Perfect location!The room was nice and clean. You could still smell mold/mildew, but it’s minutes from the sea - so I expected that.Solid floors instead of carpet was a huge plus to me! I could take my shoes off! I never do that.Customer service was good. Not above & beyond, but I have nothing negative to say about the experience.
We stay here every time we come to Fort Bragg. The rooms are clean and basic but super comfortable. Its within walking distance from glass beach as well as downtown, so it cuts down time spent in a car.
It was okay for a nights stay, but there were a few issues. The best part of the hotel was the location. Its a short drive to Glass Beach, the main attraction in Fort Braggs. The room itself was mediocre at best, with the bed and desk chair being clearly worn-out. The floor needed a good vacuuming, and the room was a bit cramped. Youll want to find your own breakfast if youre looking for a proper meal, as it was just a few bagged snacks. Overall, it was a decent stay but the room could have been cleaner and the experience could have been nicer.
If you have Sea Glass Beach on your agenda, this place is walking distance or a very short drive which was perfect. Small but comfortable room. Do not expect much in extras, this is not a luxury hotel. But a great price to be close to glass beach.
Best part was his close it is too glass beach. The place is pretty run down. Bathrooms in the hotel rooms where not the cleanest the shower was leaky and dirty. Don’t seven bet on having a parking space lol. Super loud at night. You can hear people 2 rooms down and others banging on doors and walls all night. Tv didn’t work at all. The Wi-Fi was down the whole time we stayed there.Would not come back even for a night. Would rather have slept in my car.Update they’ve reached out to me apologizing which is stupid cause they have so many times to other people who left reviews and yet nothing has changed.
Ive found that hotel ratings depend alot on what a traveler compares it to. If you think a Motel 6 is an ok place, you would be ok with this place.Outside is pretty run down.The outside garbage 🗑 cans were overflowing.Name of hotel not on building. Previous name has been covered black spray paint.Back of hotel is an alley.However, it IS close to the beach.To the hotels credit, they were not difficult when I cancelled my reservation after seeing the place.
First the positive. It is in a great location. 5 minute walk to Glass beach. 5 minute walk to North Coast Brewery. 15 minute walk or 3 minute drive to Pudding Creek Beach which is a nice, huge sand beach.The guy that was there at check-in gets 5 stars. He was personable and funny.There is a mini fridge, microwave, and 1 cup coffee maker (not for K-cups) in the room.There was a breakfast grabbag that was a muffin, quaker granola bar, apple, and cheezeits.It was cheap.There arent really any negatives for me. Just lots of mediocrity. It is a kind of run down converted Travelodge. If you like boutique cottages, you will hate it. If motel 6 is your normal, it is perfectly fine.
This is an older but very cute, very clean motel in the center of town. The host was very accommodating and friendly. Refrigerator with freezer, microwave, coffee maker, huge tv. We were very impressed, nice linens and towels. A cute little cafe right on the premises for breakfast, lunch. Will stay there again.
We were so grateful to have found this hotel to stay the night in the fantastic town of Fort Bragg. We are on a cross country road trip and had to unexpectedly stop in this town. Around 9pm I walked over to this hotel just hoping a room would be available. Sure enough, I explained our situation and a kind person helped us book a king bed room. The room was clean, spacious, and had everything one would want from a standard quality hotel. The bed was comfortable, and it was a real plus having access to Youtube on the TV. In the morning there was free coffee, and we enjoyed walking down to the beach, which was only a short 10 min walk away. The kindness from everyone who worked there was so appreciated. This unexpected stop turned out to be our favorite stop on the trip so far!
The pictures were a bit deceptive. The place reminds you of a Sixties motel and might work as the set for a dark movie, complete with cars under covers that make you wonder what happens there. You drive up and park at your door. It is well worn and has seen many visitors, but it is clean.Breakfast was a lunch bag with a boxed muffin and some crackers. Skip it and go up the street for a cookie.The room was small, but enough for a night. I dont think I would want to stay much longer.

The hotel was okay. The pictures were not the same as our experience. The floors in our room were super dirty. After taking a shower I was barefoot while getting ready and my feet were actually black.The lady at the front desk before 3 was extremely rude. We got there around 1:30 (after a 5 hour drive) and was told we couldn’t check in early (which was okay). She didn’t ask for our name or check our room just said no. So we went next door to eat. We came back again at 2:40 to check in. Again she said it’s not 3. She was rude! Not pleasant at all. I told her I’ve never had a problem like this before and could she even check to see if the room was ready - there were no cars in the parking lot. She said she can’t get on computers until 3, no.About 5 minutes later our friends arrived and there was a man there who checked them right in (early).The next morning we went in to get our breakfast bag and I only saw two bags left. I asked her where we go, she pointed and walked away. No good morning, hi, sorry there isn’t enough, nothing.
Super friendly staff. Outside of property could use some work, it’s a little dirty and cluttered but inside the rooms have been upgraded nicely. “Breakfast” was a sack lunch which included a muffin, granola bar, 2 graham crackers and tiny bag of cheezits, they did have coffee. Was centrally located close to the tattoo museum (downtown shops) and glass beach. Also a dennys close bye. People upstairs were so loud late at night and super early. Not the property’s fault though.
Basically, you get what you pay for. It was a bed, and served its purpose on a budget, but I probably would look elsewhere next time. Rooms are in dire need of upgrades, but it was generally clean. Housekeeping does not come daily, only after checkout or upon request. Guest WiFi was practically nonexistent, with only 1 bar and constant dropouts. We had poor cell coverage on both Verizon and AT&T (as expected) so we depended on WiFi.Glass beach is walkable, but not much else...downtown is not really walkable and most downtown locations and restaurants closed at 5:30 or so anyway, so the place turns into a ghost town which forces you to drive down to Taco Bell or McDonalds or or plan to bring something back to your room. You can hear the people above you, and security overall is questionable with old key locks, windows at both the front and back of the room, and the office is not staffed 24/7 as claimed. Not necessarily family friendly.

For the low price, it’s about what I expected. The biggest downfall was that the water wasn’t very warm so showers weren’t super enjoyable. But otherwise the rooms were clean and we felt very safe.

Location was okay but really poor management. Had an issue with key cards that were not working! They tried to fix it while we are in room which lasted for 2 hrs so we can’t really relax and since they don’t have all the parts they decided to transfer us to a smaller room which is not on par with the room that we paid for. In addition, since we are now on the first floor, we were awaken by the footsteps on the upper room and noises outside.If you are looking for a stress free vacation, pick somewhere else.
This place is in a great location. However the service wasnt very good at times. There was a rude lady at the front desk who snapped at me when I asked her for extra TP. I also noticed that there was no cleaning behind furniture and TV and the door was really grimy.
This place was cheap, but you get what you pay for.Breakfast included is a grab bag of old snacks.The toilet in my room was broken and constantly running. It was so loud it kept me up all night. I call front desk at 7am hoping for an extended check out because I didnt get a lick of sleep otherwise. They say no. Okay.Time to plug into my laptop for my zoom call for work at 730 am. I dont have wifi. I call the front desk. She says its because so many people are using it. But its 730am on a Saturday? Just full of excuses.For a business that claimsIt is our goal to ensure that every guest feels comfortable, well taken care of, and satisfied during their stay.This is very fair from their goal. I loved them! Scott at the front desk was amazing! There was a problem with my credit card and he was able to find the issue quickly and painlessly, getting me into a room and got much needed rest.The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was great. I will be making it my regular stop since I travel there often. I cant thank Scott enough. He was kind, and helpful during a very stressful situation. Thank you so much! The bed was not comfortable. The bathroom was covered in little hairs. The bathroom door was broken and wouldn’t close. The double pane bathroom window was broken on the outside pain. The internet was so bad we had to use a hot spot for one of us to have any connection. The grout in the bath tub was discolored from mold and was chipped.
Scott at the front desk was so nice! Very welcoming and he offered us little breakfast bags that he put together, friendly guy. The room was cute and clean, perfect for what we needed. Thank you for a great stay!
Scott was very helpful. Not a super fancy place, its an old motel (Travellodge) with some updates. Its clean, quiet, and comfortable. Your not in Fortbragg for the hotel your there for the ocean and the old seaside lumber mill town feel. It still looks like the same lumber mill town minus the lumber mill and now with the tippical californian yuppie hippie thing going on. Everything is very expensive.
We were looking for a quiet inexpensive hotel in Fort Bragg and OMEO suites did not disappoint. We were in the comfy double and though it was small we had all the comfort we needed. Very cozy bed and sheets with two fluffy pillows for each of us. We both slept through the night easily.
Nice renovation of the old Travel lodge. Check-in was smooth, rooms were clean and nice. Walkable to downtown and glass beach. Will stay there again.
Locked out of my room at 6:45 am because clerk couldnt figure out I was staying for three days. No apologies whatsoever for leaving me out in the cold waiting for some one to let my in. Room was ok.

The room itself would have been fine if it was not so filthy and the shower had black mold the hair dryer ( which I would never use anyway I bring my own ! but it had so much hair and dust build up it was disgusting the floors where not clean, tile grout was black disgusting, the bed skirt was also filthy, we stayed 4 nights and no one emptied trash or brought fresh towels... again reception staff was good great customer service.... housekeeping tho gets a -1 for me . Black mold so unacceptable. Location is excellent thats about it . Will not be back

The rooms are really nice and the bathrooms are super clean (Im a housekeeper too so theyre doing a great job) the location is absolutely perfect for going on walks, either to the local shops or to glass beach and pudding creek. Its really quiet as well. Most days the people in the office will make sure you get a deal too which is freaking awesome! Best hotel in town for price hands down. Just walk in or call directly for the best prices!

2023-12-01 17:11:28The best days for the OMEO Suites Glass Beach have past but Im sure this was a fantastic place to stay but in 2023 only average. The rooms were larger than expected and very clean. The mattress was way way too soft almost like an old-fashioned feather bed. The room was very clean which was great. The bathroom exhaust fan and the room heating cooling unit need work or replaced. The fan in both units was loud and sounded like it was about to stop. The desk was unusable as it was broken, stained and should have been replaced a couple of years ago.

2023-11-04 00:47:06It was an overnight stay. It was clean. Decorated pretty good. It is a very old building that they have done a decent job spiffing up. A new ice maker would be a great investment. The access to the body wash and shampoo although looked nice was a little awkward. The guy at the desk.......he was great. Very friendly and funny. Real nice guy. I would definitely stay there again.

2023-10-26 15:49:00This is a great place to go for a one-two night stay. The room we got was small with a queen bed, a small tv, fridge, single coffee cup maker, and ironing board/iron. But it is exactly what we needed. The bathroom was good sized all things worked appropriately. The front desk attendant was super nice and helpful. This place is literally three minutes from glass beach. It was totally worth the cost!

2023-12-26 13:21:14The picture advisement for this hotel is completely false and so are the rooms. You cannot see the ocean out the windows, all you see is a parking lot. Room was so small that there wasnt even a enough room for two bed side table. The shampoo and conditioner is attached to the wall outside the shower. The breakfast comes in a brown bag (apple, chewy granola bar, cheese its and muffin)

The WiFi was meh; the TV was huge; the room needed at least one more light, but it was inexpensive and met out basic needs.I will say that I am sick and tired of cleaning staff thinking that overpowering scent of pine equals clean. Rinse the mop and mop with water as a finish people. My and others lungs will thank you.Oh yeah and there were people yelling to the early morning. I finally went out and stared at them but it did no good. The rain drove them inside. I think that may have been the owners as the were using a patio set that other rooms did not have.
