Sushi tastes good, spring roll is very plain. Dons have way more rice than the meat, ready to get food coma after ordering those. Service is fairly poor as we are rarely taken care of and are shown a cold attitude. Would definitely NOT revisit this place.

Bought the chirashidon for takeout... Got home and felt very disappointed. Not worth the price for mostly sushi rice and a bit of sashimi. I saw the pictures of their chirashidon, there was 2 more pieces of tuna and salmon than what I got. Cant help but feel swindled.The host/waiter was nice though.

My wife and I visited Osaka and were amazed at not only the quality of food, but also the service. We shared the spicy chicken dinner entree. This is easily one of the best meals we’ve eaten in town.

Went with another person for dinner. They cleaned the table after we sat down. Ordered appetizer, 3 rolls, and shrimp yakisoba. Appetizer came towards the end of the meal. Didnt have one server but rather random servers. Received our bill halfway through our meal. Food was average and service was a bit disorganized. Overall, an ok dinner with ok service.

Had a wonderful dinner in this very busy restaurant on a Thursday night. The menu is extensive with lots of options, and even a vegan maki plate! The sesame balls are amazing, and my husband said his sashimi combo and Rocky roll were both very good. Everyone else in our party of 8 agreed that their meals were fantastic. My cousin loves in Woodland and was very happy to find out about the vegan options and will be eating there again.I would give a straight 5 stars, but we had to track down waitstaff after waiting 20+ minutes with no contact. Once our server came to our table though, service moved quickly. The noise level is loud in the restaurant (we were upstairs) but is just the type of establishment it is. We had 8 people conversing but had to speak loudly to be heard.That being said, we had a very enjoyable time and will definitely eat there again.

Wow, just wow. Not only is Dan an amazing guy and Junior an awesome server, which in itself makes you want to come by just for the fun, but the food.....AMAZING!!!!! The rolls are so fresh and that texture of the batter on the spicy chicken was like nothing I have ever had before. Will definitely return when I am back in Woodland! Went on a Friday night and it was packed and loud. Decided to order to go. They said food would be done in 30 min and we could wait outside. After 40 min of waiting I go inside to see about the food and it had been sitting on the counter for who knows how long.The sushi was good, but the tempra was down right soggy, bland, and cold.

Had a reservation for a graduation celebration and absolutely loved our experience! Food was delicious and the customer service was excellent! Note that if you are dining in during a very busy time, there will be a wait and service can take a bit longer than usual, but please be patient as the staff is working hard. Good food, ridiculously bad service. Two couples and so two bills at a table for four. After a half hour the waitress gave us a bowl of soy beans because it was taking so long. Sometime after they were gone two of us got our meals. Another half hour... With no sight of a waitress in between, I finally got up and complained. The other two meals came maybe five minutes later. When I placed my order the menu did not indicate that a salad came with my meal. I asked the waitress who said shed get me a salad. Never came. Neither did an apology. 2 stars because the tempura was worthy one.

Would have liked to find out how their sushi is.Waited 1/2 an hour for a table and then fund out they didnt have many items of the a la carte sushi list.Anyone carries tuna and salmon but its also important to offer variety. We love the food. The restaurant is always crowded. We take our family here for special occasions and we take our time. I think each dish is prepared individually so wait times can seem a bit long, but its worth it. Dont go if you are in a hurry. My favorite is the Senior Combination Teriyaki Chicken with Tempora and Gyoza. My son and grandson prefer Sesame Chicken. We all enjoy the food and the atmosphere. Its casual. Service is good and friendly. The owner likes to acknowledge his regulars.

Consistently great service and amazing food. Always my go to place when I want to eat out. I have tried the Osaka Sushi in Sacramento, but still nothing beats the Woodland one. Last but not least, my late grandfather used to love this Osaka sushi restaurant in particular as well, so it holds a special place in my heart.

Yummy Japanese offerings in a town not known for such things. Great selection of sushi, with lots of different combos on standards. Youll definitely be able to find your preferred one. Food little bit on pricey side, and this is not a quick dinner. Pick up orders not ready at estimated pick up time common. They are also getting very busy with indoor dining being allowed.

Very Poor Service. Read the reviews on yelp and this seems to be a theme. It looks like they load the reviews because if you look at the one and two star reviews in yelp... the complaints are the same. Obviously the managemnt does NOT care. Slow service, disorganized, they LITERALLY threw our orders on the table without condiments or checking if we needed anything. I had to try to flag someone to get everything. Despite the fact all the delays were on their end and due to incompetence they then brought us our check without asking if we wanted anything else and refused to let us order dessert. Terrible service and for a sushi place...it is very scary. I had to post because apparently it is an ongoing issue and the managemnt does not care. It seems like they manage to bury the bad reviews but if you look into them. They are all complaining about the same thing. Major red flag. Spent 70 for two people and the experience was awful. The final excuse.. we were busy? Probably not for long if they continue treating customers like that. I am not the first to complain. Will NEVER go back.

We literally stumbled across this place while on a recent tour of historic homes in Woodland. What a treasure! I lived in Japan 5 years, my husband 3 years, and my daughter in law 1 year and we love Japanese food so we went in. It has an ambitious menu and the 5 of us ordered a variety of sushi and regional specialties. Every dish was perfection. The yakitori chicken tasted just like the yakitori we used to get every summer in the rooftop beer gardens. The croquettes were perfectly seasoned and cooked without a hint of oiliness. The vegetarian sushi with sweet potato and avocado was the surprise hit of the meal, truly delicious. If you dont try anything else, try that. We live 45 minutes away but will definitely go back.

My husband and I just got married on May 30th. It was a small elopement late in the day and we got to the restaurant just as it was about to close its doors. Luckily they decided to let us in and cheered us on. Amazing service, the best food Ive ever had, and drinks were on the house! I absolutely love Osaka Sushi. The workers there treat their patrons like family. Im so glad we got to experience a sort of impromptu celebration for our wedding night since we didnt get to have one with our relatives. The customer service is lacking. They turned off their phone after I said I would call back in a few minutes to place my order. I needed a bit more time to decide on what I wanted, but initially called to see if they were open and delivered. I had to call 4 times before anyone picked up and when they did, they were rushed and rude. Then I called back to place my order and they had turned off their phone. LOL! WTH? I guess they didn’t want the business. I won’t be calling or going there again.

I had lunch here yesterday with a friend after not going for 5+ years. The quality of the food was still pretty good and about on par with how it was before. The interior is dark but comfortable and trying to be upscale slightly, but I also dont like their choice of decorations. They have started hanging large format posters or beer ads and it makes the place look cheap. Worth eating here if you are in the area and in a hurry. For sushi in Woodland though I recommend going to Jinju instead.

It was fantastic! Chris was very helpful! I asked him to pick me out a nice good cold sake and he brought me the perfect one! He was very helpful with the menu and went and checked on what clams they had in. I love Miragui but its hard to find. At least this place had hokkigui. I will be back cause of Chris and how fresh the fish was. You need new menus they were wrinkled and gummy.

I went for dinner and it was super busy. I waited about 3 minutes, pretty quick. Food is pretty good. One of the stand out items was the spicy garlic Edamame, which I have tried at other places. What sets theirs apart is instead of a moist and saucy Edamame its actually the opposite, its fried and crispy whith the flavor dusted on. Its actually a nice change. If your in woodland and need a sushi fix, this is a safe choice. Some of my cons is there are no beers on draft and the service is a little behind but its not too bad.

8/26/2016My husband and I decided to try something new tonight. We walked around on Main Street and settled on Osaka Sushi, When we looked in the window, it was bustling with people and I liked the decor.In we went...We were seated in the very back and there was a lot of noise from the kitchen. So, we chose another table. A sweet but hyperactive young waitress came by and explained the menu, waving her very long, bright red, fingernails in front of my face while she talked. It was a bit distracting, but she Was trying so hard.What I cant live with is paying 37$ for a Sushi snack and the only memorable thing about the meal was the light crispy Veggie Tempura, {which was excellent}. but the dipping sauce that came with it was so diluted that it tasted like flavored water.As far as the sushi goes;We ordered a yellowtail tuna roll and the spicy tuna for starters..and finishers. Though the rice was warm and delicious and the avocado was fresh: That was The only flavor that came through...and a vague impression of spiciness.I had a sense that there was something else in the roll. Some Tuna perhaps? If I looked hard, I could see a little tuna in the roll, but couldnt taste it. The Yellowtail was such a teeny, tiny, lil bit o Yellowtail tuna.I think it was probably raised in someones saltwater tank right next to the teeny little salmon that was supposedly in the Salmon roll. Perhaps, in spirit.That, Folks, is not a good enough memory for 37$ plus tax and tip.I prefer a bit of substance with my style I must mention that our poor waitress was running around the entire time we were there.She mixed up the order then forgot to bring me water. It was impossible not to notice that she was really trying.. the few times I caught sight of her zipping past. :-)

Decided to try this this place on the fly and experienced the worst service tonight. The guy who seated us basically ignored us after taking our order which came 35 minutes later and it was wrong. Ordered a simple California roll with soy wrap and got regular California roll also ordered a dragon roll that was of similar quality save for the small portions of fish. Fake crab meat Cali roll as well. The sushi was small and rice avocado etc was not fresh. The staff seemed more interested in closing then waiting on us. The guy that looked like the manager never came over and saw if we were okay. Asked for Ginger and got four small shavings. I have frequented Mikuni in Davis and compared to them this place basically serves rice seasoned with small cuts of fish, fake crab meat and unfresh avocado. Needless to say, no tip was given and I did not finish my roll. It was awful, even the soy sauce didnt make it better. Will never go again and am wondering why this place averages 4.5 stars?🤔 Go to the burger saloon accross the street your money will be best spent there.

Ive been going to Osaka for years, and used to visit the Davis location back when I was younger. Theyll always have a special place in my heart.Lots of food, I was happily satisfied with portions, and taste. Most places nowadays only serve sushi and generic dishes, but I can really appreciate somewhere that serves unagi, and makes it well. Ill continue to choose Osaka when Im feeling like Japanese food in Woodland.

Service is tricky here, you can have a good time, or a bad time. Some sushi doesnt come to you like it is described on the menu, each chef does rolls different, there isnt a consistency. Bento boxes are delicious, especially the teriyaki salmon, great spot for lunch. If you order for pickup, call at least 20 minutes in advance.

Pretty good sushi restaurant in the Sacramento vicinity. I recommend selecting the bento boxes, sashimi or udon. The rolls are 80/20 rice vs. cucumber/avocado/fish. Owner is chill. Decent service. Takes awhile to get the check. Ask early when they are packed!

Osaka Sushi is right down the street from my office. They have very good Bento boxes for lunch and they are always a good value. The udon soup is also very tasty. They have a pretty good grilled teriyaki salmon, which my wife really likes. I wish they had an IPA on the drinks menu, however, they have a pretty typical beer selection for your average sushi place. They have a big selection of Maki rolls, as well as custom and hand rolls. They have quite a bit of seating, including some seating upstairs for when its busy, which most days during the week it usually gets that way for a while.
