I stumbled upon this place when apartment hunting this past summer. Fast forward to last Friday, I was celebrating my birthday and they happened to have a outdoor seating available. The ambiance is very cozy. The owner and his staff made me feel so much at home. Boy they have a sense of humor and even sang happy birthday to me. As for the food, try the clams linguine and calamari. Ill be coming back soon. Worth the time and energy.

Wow.. what amazing dinner! Food was cooked to perfection! Do not pass up the chance to eat here. Excellent in every way.. Our waiter was friendly and happy. This is our favorite go to place in Montrose, CA

Lovely place and fabulous food so delicious and lots of choices. It was like stepping into a restaurant in italy.. the pizza is divine. The service is top notch! The green chimmi churri sauce we with the bread is delicious! The regular salad is big and enough for two. The dinners are very large so share and everyone wins!

The food was tasty. I liked the meat and the bread. The fish was great. The cilantro sauce was fabulous. Its an interesting place to visit with the family and friends. Also you can organize business meetings. Waiters were very respectful and attentive. I will go back to this restaurant multiple times.

Wow! Everything was perfect on my dish. I had the portobello raviolis and my son had the chicken parmigiana with mashed potatoes. Will definitely bring the family back here when we are in the area. The quality of this food is next level! Prices $14-$20 were a bargain for the quality of food.

The food was cold. The espresso was american coffee in small cup. We ordered beef and veal steaks. They brought same things with price difference & different sauce. The meat was not fresh at all. Waiter very friendly and nice. The wine was very good.

The hostess/waitress working on Monday overcharged us $100 our bill for one lasagna 2 salads one coffee and 1 kids meal came out to be $196.00When I went back in there she acted clueless then blamed the computer pulled out another check when I said I want to pay cash this time charging us an extra kids meal management should know this!!! I will post this review to yelp as well!!! Seems like a nice place with the worst hostess/waitress there was another gentleman working pouting water his service was great very attentive. My advice to anyone trying this place out beware of overcharges make sure you look at your receipt don’t leave your card with them in advance!!!!

Ill admit that I actually loved the food from this place and was planning on making it my regular. However, Im so disappointed in them and will never go back. One friend didnt tip because 2 of us had ordered more expensive food, so we tipped for her. They changed her receipt after we left, giving themselves a 50% tip. Ridiculous!

My fiancé and I came to this restaurant because all the other restaurants had a very long wait list. The salmon with lemon was amazing and so was the chicken piccata. The service was excellent and the dessert was incredible. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Awesome Italian jewel in Montrose...Excellent tasting food, excellent atmosphere, great for a date or dinner with fam. Waiters were friendly and attentive, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!...FYI food is super authentic and delicious. Kids had spaghetti and meatballs, ravioli with porcinni mushrooms. Adults, Ribeye steak and linguini with lobster😋

Always a relaxing and pleasant evening. A bit quiet inside with wonderful bread as an appetizer attentive wait staff and entrees that are consistent. This isnt a cutting edge restaurant but if you want an enjoyable dinner with easy parking and warm..professional wait staff.. this is your place.

Nice, cozy venue with delicious entrees. Main courses generally $16-$20; salads, drinks priced so that a dinner for one is around $35-$45. Appetizers often generous and almost a meal in and of themselves!

Dinner was good. Dessert needs updating.....a lot. One of the items was similar to a chocolate souffle but when described what is really was, the chef went on to say a brownie, in the microwave for 45 seconds, topped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. To me, none of that sounds like a souffle. The spumoni ice cream cake was a frozen block. The creme brulee was cold and scrambled on the inside, not a silky smooth consistency that it should be.

I feel the majority of restaurants in Montrose and the surrounding communities are mediocre at best and only stay in business as a result of convenience. Sometimes its easier to settle for less instead of driving 10-15 minutes away and having to deal with busier street traffic and crowded parking structures.With that said I would describe Portebellos as mediocre and of course I will explain why. I met my parents for dinner and this was the restaurant they chose, despite growing up in the area and still living locally this was my first time eating here. The ambiance is pleasant and the staff is very friendly, I particularly enjoyed the large windows offering a nice view of Honolulu. My mother ordered first and asked for the filet mignon, surprisingly she was informed they were out of the filet despite being one of the first tables to be seated at 5:00 on a Saturday evening. This was strike one. When it was my turn to order I couldnt decide between two items, both having filet as the main ingredient, so asking our server she recommended whats essentially beef schnitzel. The breading on the filet tasted equivalent to the breading on fast food chicken strips and the filet inside was over cooked and tasteless. This was strike two. Trying to make the best of the situation I asked our server if they had a sauce similar to A1 (thinking they wouldnt have A1), to my surprise I was told they have A1 and she would bring it right away. Almost immediately a different server is at my side apologizing because they are out of A1. This was strike three. My father thinking I was exaggerating about the lackluster taste of my meal decided to try a bite, it was then he realized I wasnt exaggerating in the slightest. I also sampled a bite of my brothers lobster ravioli which was nothing to write home about.Having only eaten here the one time and having no prior visits for comparison it is possible my experience was unusual. However I will say that not a single member of my dinner party so much as commented negatively or positively during or after our meal.

Ordered a pizza over the phone to pick up.. on the menu it says $14 go over to pick up and the guy says it’s $17 not $14. He called his boss and the boss said to charge $17 even tho the menu online has a different price. Not professional.

Great casual Italian fare. The Farmers penne with chicken and sausage in an arrabbiata sauce was delicious as well as the bread rolls with a Chimichurri-esqe oil. However I was disappointed in the penne and pink vokda sauce dish my fiancee ordered: came out off white in color because too much cream was added... couldnt taste any tomato and was bland in flavor.
