My recent visit to Ramen Zuru in Artesia left me feeling quite underwhelmed, especially considering the high reviews I had read beforehand. While the place was clean and the service was good, the overall dining experience fell short of my expectations.The restaurant itself is small, which isnt necessarily a problem, but it does make for a crowded and somewhat cramped atmosphere. If you prefer a more intimate setting, this might not bother you, but its worth noting for those who appreciate more spacious dining areas.The ramen at Ramen Zuru was good, but it didnt reach the level of greatness that I had anticipated based on the restaurants reputation. The broth lacked depth and complexity, and the noodles were just average. While it wasnt a bad bowl of ramen by any means, it failed to impress me.One of the most disappointing aspects of the meal was the Chicken Karaage. It was incredibly bland and practically tasteless. I had hoped for a flavorful and crispy chicken dish, but unfortunately, it fell flat. The lack of seasoning and overall flavor made it a forgettable addition to the meal.The Gyoza dumplings at Ramen Zuru were decent but nothing extraordinary. They were cooked well and had a nice texture, but they didnt stand out in terms of flavor. They were just average and didnt leave a lasting impression.As for the takoyaki, it was simply alright. The texture was fine, and it had the expected fillings, but there was nothing remarkable about it. It lacked the wow factor that would have elevated the dish and made it memorable.Overall, my experience at Ramen Zuru was underwhelming. The cleanliness of the place and the good service were positive aspects, but the average ramen, tasteless Chicken Karaage, and average Gyoza and takoyaki left me disappointed. Perhaps this visit was a one-off occurrence, but based on my initial impression, Im hesitant to return in the future.I hope that Ramen Zuru takes customer feedback seriously and works on improving the overall flavor and quality of their dishes to meet the high expectations set by their reputation.

So this place is easy to miss but you should make the effort to find it if you’re in the mood for Ramen. When we entered it wasn’t very packed like most places in Little Tokyo if you’re familiar with those crowds. Everyone greats you, hostess’ are friendly and you are initially served a pitcher of water. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen, which has the MOST TENDER PORK I’ve ever had in Ramen, so delicious on its own. Definitely a 10/10. We also had the Nachos and you definitely want to have them. I could of had those alone as they are very shareable sized nachos.

Tiny place with giant flavors.Long story short, go here because it is good all around.We had the veggie and green curry ramen with the chicken gyoza to start. The gyoza was okay. I had the green curry ramen. At first, I was a bit skeptical as I just tasted the heat after starting to mix the ingredients. Getting more into the bowl it turned into flavor party. The curry really started to come through, intertwined with the rich pork broth. The cuts of pork were thick, buttery, and delicious. I could not stop eating this amazing bowl. Best bowl of ramen I have had in the area in recent memory. Coming back soon.

Got the Tonkatsu and Shoyu ramen and they were both amazing! The egg had a soft and gooey center, perfect for dipping the thick and chewy noodles that makes Ramen Zuru unique and stand out from other ramen shops! Their noodles were fresh and soaked up the broth perfectly. The broth wasnt salty at all and had a great flavor, the pork was seared nicely and fell apart in your mouth, and the portion was generous! I highly recommend this ramen place if youre in Cerritos! The service was wonderful, place was clean, and the chefs were super nice, asking how everything was. Also, if you like matcha green tea, you should try their iced green tea, it was refreshing and not sugary at all. It paired well with the ramen.

I ordered online on their website a tonkotsu ramen and added a small chasu bowl. Ramen Zuru carefully packaged the carryout order and there are two separate containers for the ramen noodle and its brother. The tonkotsu broth seemed less than half-full in the container, but it was actually the right amount when you pour it into the ramen bowl.I enjoyed the toppings - spinach (first time seeing it in ramen), bean sprouts, nori, green onions, two slices of pork chasu, and a half slice of the soy egg. The tonkotsu broth was rich and slightly creamy but the saltiness was kind of high for my taste. Based on this experience, both the tonkotsu broth and the rice bowl tasted salty, and it wasnt pleasant to down the broth without a glass of water nearby. Im sure others will enjoy the broth as is.Plenty of parking space in the plaza and places to go shopping after your meal.

Went to ramen zuru. New trend of places where you walk in and sent directly to an iPad where you make your order. Seems very impersonal and cold. I don’t like the experience at all. Not sure if it’s to cut cost or speed up efficiency. Either way, it’s a cold experience and I’m not use to it. The process is pretty straightforward but had to go in and out of the menu a f ew times to choose add ons etc etc. and $12 for ramen seems expensive to me so I decided to get chicken bowl instead. I really like that style of egg but didn’t care for the spinach in it. Server was nice, but I just couldn’t wait to leave. Food is ok, experience is lacking. You should always try everything at least once.

Theres only two kiosk to make your order for a few variety of ramen and rice bowl and then you take your receipt and wait to be seated. We only ordered the tonkatsu ramen and karaage. The place is very tiny kind of like a ramen restaurant in Japan and they only have one table that seats 6 so best not to come in groups. The ramen has thick chewy noodle and the pork is a little on the salty side. So far their ramen looks closest to real Japanese ramen with toppings like egg, bean sprouts, cabbage, seaweed and green onions. Their ramen is expensive, $12.50, but the portion is huge. The karaage is very deep fried and oily too. So far, not bad but not something to be wowed at.

I have been coming here a lot lately ever since we had the big storm in December 2022/January 2023. I give it a 5 star because of the tonkotsu ramen taste, and their servers and owner are all attentive, warm and friendly. Not to mention great customer service in giving recommendation for how you want the ramen to your liking. Keep up the excellent customer service and food flavor. I hate to see a great restaurant go downhill on poor rating bad customer service and food coz it happens. For right now, i am enjoying everything from this ramen place.

Its been a few years since our last visit and boy did I miss this ramen spot!!!We were warmly greeted by the servers. After a brief wait, my family and I ordered our respective dinners. My youngest and I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen while my oldest son ordered the Chashu Rice Bowl. Can I tell you how delicious that pork belly (Chashu) was? How well cooked but soft it was *chefs kiss* The pickled egg was superb 🤤 maaaaaaaaan!! I look forward to another visit sometime soon.My only complaint: the seats are hard.

Visiting family in SOCAL from Florida and my wife wanted some ramen soup. Saw Ramen Zuru and stopped by to eat.Wife ordered the ramen and I ordered the chicken curry.It was delicious and the serving portions were large for both entrees. The price was too little for the amount of food. The waitress was awesome and the ambience is authentic Japanese.Wish they had a restaurant like this in Florida! Highly recommend this place to eat. Not my typical Japanese ramen restaurant but small n cute. If not used to ordering kiosk you may not feel comfortable. Place is very small but runs pretty efficiently. Had some since it was pretty hot day. Could have ordered extra noodle but decided not too. Its nice to have one near my house. Hope they stick around for a while.

The food is great the servers are great! I edited my first review is because I was under the impression that my credit card was charged 3 times plus paid cash. I put it on here due to the store being temporary closed. Joyce wanted no time and emailed and called me right away. She researched it showed her documents and we found out the charge was stuck in our credit cards pending section that is why it was telling us it was charged. Finally, a good, local Ramen shop! Good ramen is hard to find around here, and even tho this place is very unique, if youve been to Japan, youll find it super authentic. The pork grilled fried rice bowl is fire. All their servings are generous, the chashu slices are huge, and the eggs are marinated just right! The store has a self-ordering kiosk inside and provides hand sanitizer (Purelle) before using the kiosk.I ordered for Miso Ramen and the pork meat is so tender but still has its texture. The broth is an excellent complement to the rest of the ingredients. Since it was for to go basis only, the noodles got stuck with each other by the time I got home.My daughter ordered for the chicken bowl and finds the chicken flavorful. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy. I can say that both our orders are worth it.

I would have given 5 stars but this place needs to be a little more pro-active and up front with their wait times. Their phone line is always busy and if you order thru their kiosk, its going to take forever. You wont know the wait time until you ask for it. I guess I went down here on a busy day. I dont see any line though when I ordered and there are no bags with names for pick up. Still, it took them about 45 minutes for 1 tonkatsu ramen. I ordered 7:45pm and got it about 8:30pm.

Cold weather? Ramen always sounds good!Ramen Zuru is a ramen shop located on the left of Daiso in the 99 Ranch plaza in Artesia. What differentiates this from other ramen restaurants is the tablet ordering. Customers first order on one of two tablets by the entrance, give the receipt to the staff & then seated either at the communal bar facing the kitchen or one of the private tables. Another unique factor about Ramen Zuru is the choice of thin or thick noodles, made locally & delivered every morning by TAKARA RAMEN. Thick noodles, akin to udon noodles, are quite popular and the option we chose for our bowls of ramen.Tonkotsu & miso ramen-The tonkotsu ramen came w/ soft boiled egg. Both broths were hearty & rich. The thick noodles had quite the bite to them. I mightily enjoyed the mouth feel of the al dente noodles at first, but frankly, started to get over the amount of time it took to chew each bite. It became almost a chore. The 2 chashu slices were thick slabs of meat. However, they werent tender to my liking. I was given the chefs special habanero sauce, which gave a nice kick to our meal.Service was okay. I became annoyed with the party ordering before us, as they were taking their sweet time. I asked if we could just place our order with the staff, which I was told I could not. Minimal seating via the bar and a few private tables, which I found quite uncomfortable. Keeping with the aesthetic, the seats are rectangular blocks, w/o back support. I guess its good for keeping customers from staying too long, but for those with sciatica and/or back issues, not the most comfy experience. Parking is difficult to come by during peak hours at the 99 Ranch plaza.I enjoyed the tonkotsu & miso ramen at Ramen Zuru, especially with a liberal amount of the habanero sauce. I definitely would choose the thin noodles next time, for my taste. The time waiting to order and the hard block seats hampered our first experience, and while I will be back in the future, Im not eager to go anytime soon. Ordered Tonkotsu Ramen+Chashu Fried rice (special order firm thin noodles)Broth was really good and hearty. I was surprised and glad about this. I gave it 4 stars because they put cabbage and spinach on the ramen. I dont hate it but Id prefer if they use bamboo shoots and/or wood ear mushroom. Never had cabbage in my ramen before so it seemed off to me. The Chashu fried rice for 1.99 extra was a good deal and the quality was okay. Chashu itself was great. They torch it or maybe sear before serving which gives it a very nice flavor. Overall good experience and Ill definitely come back. Im glad we finally have a decent ramen joint close to Norwalk area. 👌Btw, it would be good if they can add crushed garlic to their condiments.

We ordered takeout here, two tonkatsu ramen bowls. Pretty quick service. I appreciate that the noodles and the soup was separate and they use biodegradable paper based containers! The ramen and soup were delicious. They used thick noodles which is usually not my preference but its yummy and Al dente. The broth isnt too salty and rich with flavor! Best ramen in this area that weve had. so happy to finally find a good ramen place near us in the Cerritos/Artesia area

The tonkotsu broth was rich and creamy and the noodles were good though surprisingly thick and chewy. I added the soft egg and it went very well with the soup. Another plus is that the soup came out fast and hot. My only conplaint is that the bowl was slightly too large. I dont like leaving food and this bowl was difficult to finish even though I started hungry. I think the portion size could be 20% smaller and it would still be a large bowl of ramen.

When we entered the front door, they expected us to use the 2 tablets to register our names, how to pay for the food (cash or credit), & order our ramen before seating...(not a customer friendly way to do business).Then the next instruction note asked us not to stand around & block the tablets. Execute me, the place was so small, there wasnt enough space to standing around w/o blocking. Then, the other option was to wait outside...There was a customer who was smoking heavily 5 feet away from the front door. California law states of 20 away from building...(1st no, no).Finally, we got a table & the waitress asked us to pay before our meals...wow, wow!Each basic ramen dish started at $12.00 each...thick noodle, 2 slices of fatty pork meat & little veggie (no egg). Anything extra would cost more $$.Both the male & female servers tried their best to take care of customers.The $12 each price tag & pay first mentality left me w/ something to think about not coming back.
