This was my first Korean BBQ experience, so I have no standard to measure by. But with that being said, I have to this place 5 stars.. I didnt just like it, I loved it. All the food was excellent. The friend who brought me here basically said as a disclaimer, dont expect good service in these types of places, you usually have to wave down someone if you want something. Our waitress was on top of everything, constantly re-filling sides. I have nothing bad to say about this place. They seated us quickly on a busy Sunday night as well. Would definitely go back!

Came here with a friend who didnt eat meat and let them know at the beginning. Not one time was it mentioned that they would be charged full price. They made us pay 37.00 for an egg and some rice. The servers were great besides the first guy who never came back. And the manager apparently wouldnt make any exceptions .. wont ever come here again.

The take out is phenomenal. But beware: their $20 combo is A LOT OF FOOD. You could easily feed a family of normal sized people with one order. But since I’m not a quitter, I’m going to eat this for the next couple of meals. 10/10 would brave outside my shelter for this kbbq.Update: take out was amazing during the pandemic. But now that it’s back in person, the parking lot situation cannot handle the number of tables/seats they had available.If you check in using Yelp and miss your “see host in 10 minutes” window because of the atrocious parking, they will automatically remove you from the waitlist and you have to start over.That means an extra 1-2 hours waiting if you’re unlucky like us.

This is my go to KBBQ restaurant! Very high quality meat and delicious seasoning. The staff are attentive and friendly and quick to refill any sides. The price is competitive with other KBBQ places in the area.My only complaint would be the grill drain does get clogged frequently. But overall this is one of my favorite restaurants.

Food: All You Can Eat!!!! This place does not mess around!!! You ask and they make your dreams come true!!! There are a few Menu Sets to choose from. Each option offers different meats and other delectables. The higher priced options give more selections. I love the Bulgogi, Spicey Pork Belly (sweet chili), Brisket, NY Steak, Pork Belly, Marinated Chicken. I order the 3-2 and it comes with 26 food items.Service: A++++! Multiple servers patrol the dinning area and will bring what ever you ask for. They will make recommendations if youre new to K-BBQ. Polite, kind, thankful.Final thought: My choice for K-BBQ in a 20 mile radius. It gets busy so make sure to call ahead for wait times. I go on the weekends and weekdays if possible after 10pm to miss the rush. Love this place!

OK folks I know there’s a lot of Korean barbecue places around Southern California but I need you to know that THIS IS THE BEST ONE!!! no really this is really one of the best places I have been to I would definitely recommend anyone in Socal to come by and definitely would recommend the brisket and always get the $26 all you can eat plus the ice cream at the end it’s a nice little treat.

Food:The short ribs with marinated is delicious. The chicken is also pretty good. The steak was also good. They give you a lot of steak meat. You can choose to do all you can eat, which everyone does. The 2nd most expensive all you can eat is the best deal to choose. You get enough varieties and worth the amount. The side dishes were pretty good also. I like what they did with the potato dish. Taste much better than the typical side. You can also do fried rice inside of ppl plain rice.Service:The service is amazing here. The workers are kind and helpful. They will make sure everything is okay and are always there. Probably the best service I got from any Korean restaurant.Seating:Plenty of seats for large groups. They have 28 tables. Each table has their own grill and vent.

This is not the same quality Shik Do Rak that I used to go to several years ago. The brisket was very oily, prime rib and ny strip steak super tough, ban chan (korean side dishes) looked old and tasted bland. Only thing I enjoyed was the korean cold noodle soup which was an extra $6 and the service was attentive. Meat quality was sub par unfortunately.

+ Clean floors, tables, and presentation.+ Food was good, including the banchan and meat selection (I mostly eat kimchi, rice paper, and brisket).+ They come pretty often to refill banchan and your water. They also leave a container of water for you to pour if your party is big enough or if you ask often for refills.+ Servers usually come when you press the button.* Service really depends on the waiter/waitress. At one point we had a champion waiter and another time we had someone who kinda zoned out.* Soda comes from a can.* Desert after youre done eating - but only as you leave the restaurant.- Waited 40 minutes for a table on a Sunday evening around 7 PM.- Servers sometimes forget what you asked for.I would go hear again if my friends wanted to go, but wouldnt go out of my way to recommend it if they asked where I wanted to eat.

Great food. Waiters were on it, totally there whenever we needed anything, fast responses to orders. Great food. Parking, make sure to talk to the people to make sure youre in the right area, in their gated area, otherwise you might get towed elsewhere. Great food. So, if you didnt get the drift, the food was great. This lilikoi alcohol was very good too!

Weve been coming here for years and they always come through with great food and service. We drive around 40 miles to get here one way, but its always worth it. Dont forget to pickup some of their tart frozen yogurt before you leave.

Sometimes the grills suck but it happens with wear and tear anywhere.I love brisket and the options for the price plus the dessert on the way out. Shik is my go to. I go to other locations only if this place is busy or other peoples preference.Sometimes their sides arent a great as I remember but the meat quality trumps it. Its got enough to make my meal enjoyable.The salad dressing is brisket sauce btw. Get extra to dip. Not all places have brisket sauce. With brisket being my GO TO, its a deal breaker for me.I feel like the rice paper quality has decreased but I can do without Im here for the meat. I get my sauces and quality meat Im good.

Came here while visiting the LA area. Great all-you-can-eat Korean bbq. I was surprised how savory the Kalbi was. The slab of short rib comes with a nice diamond cut where the seasoning cuts deep into the meat. Servers constantly kept an eye on changing out the grill. Only downside is if being sat near the waterfall, it can get a little loud. Would definitely come back the next time we visit.

We had a great experience! First time spending money to cook our own food! :-) our server was great, walking us through what and how to do it. All the food was great. There wasnt anything we didnt like. We had beef 👅, flank steak, brisket, squid and garlic bacon! Also the kimchi was fabulous and their hot sauce was delish. We would go back for sure.

Food and service are great. I use to come here often before the pandemic but now i come here once in awhile cause Im broke. My only complaint is the increase in price. No matter what kbbq restaurant I go to it doesnt quite satisfy me like shik do rak does. Plus they offer yogurt to cleanse your palate. Everything is good here. 5 stars for me.

Best quality meat, side dishes, and the best part is that the burners heat up evenly. I have been to many BBQ places like GogiTime and Gen, but this place here is amazing and not too pricey. Only downside is that around 4:00pm it starts to get really busy. It is best to get in before lunch to beat the wait and pay the lunch price.

First time trying this place, the food was really good but the customer service was horrible!!Could get anyone to come to the table they kept walking past without looking our way. Had to ask for water a couple of times & one of the waiters seemed like he was annoyed when we asked for anything. Even tried to order a second time and they took forever. They only came to our table 2 times the whole time we ate there. They were not busy at all there were 9 tables total so I could see if they were busy but no. Will never go back ever

Ive been to many kbbq unashamedly and this is the one I always go back to. They have great menu options at great price points and always deliver good quality meats. They always have good banchan and sides. Service has always been great here. They recently had a huge remodel and it looks very nice inside. Id been coming for years before the remodel otherwise. Its one of my favorite kbbq places and unless something changes drastically Ill always keep coming back.

I patron here often, im surprised i dont have pics to post. But i really do enjoy this place... Ive been to a couple ( a lot if not all the time now) Kbqq around this area and i can say quality is definitely here. My gf and i got here around 9.. there was plenty of parking. we didnt realized, but happy hour was at 9:30... We dine pretty fast (she gets off late and we have our series to binge!)... But wanted to experience HH. Thats when the music starts! Not sure whats 50% off.... but soju was on that menu, at $8 for a fresh...dont be afraid of asking for refills...Good ppls... Good times.. would def come again.. try them out... No lie!

Nice experience. Some good meats and alright service. Our server wasnt the most attentive but I didnt mind, they were working a lotta tables. The meats were good but the only problem I have is that the plate for the grill pit didnt actually fit the pit. It had two handles on it that just stuck out the sides and prevented it from actually sitting in the grill pit which may have inhibited the grilling. But if anything it just annoyed me slightly. But hey, good food all around at the very least. Not bad.

This place was awesome (5 STARS) the one caviat is that servers consistently changed our grill even after asking them not too. I think it must be their policy or something but Im not too worried about it in the moment it was a little irritating but no biggie. Servers Diana and Calvin provided an excellent service team. Made some great suggestions from the menu and were very friendly and polite. Also thank you to the manager/shift lead Jessica very informative very knowledgeable of the menu and extremely helpful thanks yall have a great holiday weekend!!!

This was my first time here and the 2nd time Ive Korean BBQ in my life. Place was clean and tidy. The food was very good. The meats were all delicious. The one that stood out the most chicken. The marinade was fantastic. My friend that came with us was doing the bulk of the ordering and bbqing. The service was great and very fast. They were very attentive. This is the best restaurant for Korean BBQ hands down!! They had a limited menu during COVID but the food didnt dip in portions or quality. The wait staff appeared frustrated at the thought of returning to work though. Otherwise, the sides are all included and each one has an incredible flavor! They dont skimp on sauces and have very attentive staff. They will even assist you in cooking your meat and will provide suggestions if they see its been cooking too long. The waterfall/fountain and kids room are just extra bonuses that truly make the experience worthwhile. Ive been dining here about once a month for 4 years and have never walked out unsatisfied.... Or less than 10lbs heavier!!Bonus tip: they have blueberry soft serve yogurt that they will give you on the way out if you ask. Its to die for!!!!

Ive been here many times over, but their space is large so you probably wont wait too long. They have whats called finger meat (rib fingers) thats not on the menu, but if you get the ayce menu, you can order it. Its trimmings from the prime galbi.They also have combos, but if you can afford it get the prime galbi. Also comes with no marinate too so if you dont like sweet meat its available.4 stars for the older lady server. She seemed annoyed because the grill was a bit burnt. But she didnt exactly help with the grilling.

Ive been coming here periodically with friends fora few years now. The prices are good, and selection is decent. Service was always solid (especially compared to some other KBBQ places), and over the past year or so theyve improved further. Many of their servers are now friendlier and have fluent English skills. The latter was never a big deal to work through in the first place, but it just makes things more convenient.

Food is awesome because you basically cook it yourself at your table. The prices for each buffet is pretty fair too since its all you can eat. The staff is also quick to bring you items and refill your side dishes. If youre into eating a lot of protein this is the place to go! Dont even bother filling up on rice, just stick to your meat selections and side dishes and keep an eye on the beef tongue cuz it Cooks very fast

On 4 July, I came to lunch with a friend and his wife, and suddenly by the end of the meal I smelled a terrible rotten smell. To my surprise, they opened the sewer behind our table and started construction. We couldnt stand it, so we stopped eating and came out. I had already paid for the meal by credit card. WWe were so surprised that we rushed out without thinking. I cant believe it. Isnt it a crazy restaurant to start construction in the hall even before the customer finishes eating? I dont want to recommend this restaurant to anyone because of its terrible service.

The food was good. Thats the only thing positive I can say about this place, the service was so horrible nobody would smile takes forever for them to actually bring you a drink other than water, and for some reason they kept turning our grill-off because we had no meat on their and that was because it took them forever to bring us our next tray of food. One server while trying to light the grill again with the pilot off gets frustrated slams lighter on the table then turn the pilot on light it up and walks away with an attitude.

The short version: about 1/3 of the way the grill exploded! Hot oil shot out and got all over my husband—luckily mostly clothes. Our waitress was apologetic at first, even bringing out burn spray as some got on his arm, but then...WE GOT ABANDONED!!! She never finished cleaning up the oily mess, and left us alone with a hot grill and no wait staff to check on us. We had to wave someone down each time we needed something, and our waitress NEVER came back!!! Coincidentally the owner also disappeared, and both came back into view when we were ready to leave. We had someone different come every time we needed something. Now I’m thinking this has happened before, as the grills are not what we’re used to seeing, it’s dipped in instead of out, and there’s a hole in the center, so all the hot oil from the meat leaks down right into the flame underneath. They must need to change the grill really often so what happened to us doesn’t happen more often. And we know it’s happened before as our granite looking table has a burn hole right next to the grill. Now neither my husband nor I were even that upset about the explosion, even though it was kind of scary and we had kids at the table, no one was really hurt. What we were upset about was the after math, that everyone basically disappeared on us, and left us alone with a hot grill which has already exploded before. They were just hoping we’d finish and leave, and didn’t want to own up to anything. That’s just downright wrong! So while the food was decent, we will never be back, and urge everyone else to NEVER GO THERE! That is not the right way to do business!

Ive been here for a few times for dinner but never tried lunch before. Today was my first time going here for lunch with a party of 15.First of, they didnt put on us a place where it can fit 15 people, but made us split up into three tables. I understand why and thats okay.The thing that i am disappointed about is that they dont have enough servers. There were only two servers running the whole place plus the cashier guy.We didnt get to order until 20 minutes of sitting and looking around. After ordering, the food didnt get to our table until another 10 minutes.Its one of the worse service that Ive ever experience at a restaurant. We requested some items and they didnt come out right or didnt come at all. The servers didnt write down what we ordered. It was a disaster.After all, I will not go here for lunch anymore. Not worth the wait. Also, my sister says that on the other side of Garden Grove has a better Korean BBQ. I will probably try that one next time.

I will not go back to this place. Maybe son of owner, reception kid calling himself manager made us wait till all 16 people arrive. We made a reservation and table was ready. He was saying it is their policy not to sit till everybody arrives. Restaurant was half empty. Entrance was full of crowd. I almost left the place and went to next door. I wont recommend this place to anybody. They have rudiculous policy. They have very poor service. If they let us sit right away, we could have left early and they could have had more customers.

He also went and gotten our server to ask if we had order anything so he can give us our check. We had been waiting for our order of meat and never got it. Same worker kept coming to our table to ask if we needed the check every 20 mins or so. When we went to pay for the check we mentioned this to the cashier and she said they were very busy and needed the tables available immediately, very unapologetically. This is one of the very best Korean BBQ restaurant in Garden Grove, CA. 2022 UPDATE - Ate here after 7 years since moving to AZ and was disappointed that everything has totally changed. The inside was in the middle of being renovated and felt kind of run down. AYCE prices went up to $24.99 per person which is to be expected, but not at the sacrifice of chile sauce. We only got one small dish filled up with chile sauce which for us is a deal breaker. The brisket was still delicious as usual. But no more steamed eggs is another bummer. This used to be my favorite Korean Barbecue restaurant. I fainted at this restaurant in 2018. Two of my friends and I came here to have dinner. I had been to Shik Do Rak many times before that night. We had ordered a pint of beer (the ones that come in the pitcher) and I only drank half of my cup of beer. Half way into our meal I started feeling really clammy and nauseas. I knew once my vision started to become blurry and faded in and out of darkness I had to get off my chair and either sit on the floor or try to make it outside. I had asked my friend to help me up and I was only able to walk a few steps before everything went black. When I came to, I was outside the front of the restaurant sitting on a gurney surrounded by my friends and a few firefighters and paramedics. (Yes my friends paid for the meal before leaving). All this had nothing to do with the restaurant, this is not the first time I faint like this in my life. My issue with this restaurant began once I heard my friend explain to me what happened from when I fainted to when I woke up and how the restaurant handled the situation. From what I was told, when I hit the ground after fainting my friend quickly knelt down trying to wake me up and he said he asked the servers for help and they would just ignore hime and walk past us. He then said one server did go to the back and call the manager (owner maybe not sure). When the manager came out towards us, he started yelling at us to get her out of here! You have to go now! Shes drunk get her out! I was not drunk at all. He made that assumption. And as the person in charge of that restaurant during a situation like that, you ask your customers in distress if they require help or if they can call an ambulance for us. But no. After that my friend said the manager went back into the kitchen area and did not return. While my friend was still trying to wake me up, the couple sitting at the table that I fainted next to asked if we needed help and that they can call an ambulance for us. OTHER CUSTOMERS stepped in to help us instead of the restaurant staff. I was so upset when I learned all of this. I have yet to return to this location for that reason. Garden Grove has plenty of other awesome KBBQ spots with better food and service.I know its been years since that happened but at that time I didnt feel like I wanted to share my story because I felt embarrassed. I understand now that its nothing to be embarrassed about and decided it wasnt too late to share my experience. For all I know, the staff and management that was there at the time are probably no longer working there, who knows..But in case they are: please take better care of your customers! And dont assume that they are drunk and/or call them drunk! Thank you.

It seems like cars get towed from the private lot thats right outside the main parking lot because customers mistake that Shidorak owns both. Unfortunately, 3 groups of customers got their cars towed in one night (yes, I was in one of the groups).Ultimately, drivers are responsible for making sure their cars are safe, and i understand this part. However, the warning sign on the private property is purposely written vaguely to trick people into thinking that its okay to park there. Next, apparently the servers know that towing happens all the time as one of my friends heard them making a joke about it.You piece these two things together, then you reach a conclusion that Shikdorak doesnt understand the concept of customer retention.If their customers cars get towed here quite often, then why the F would they not make an effort to prevent this unpleasant situation? Again, ultimately, its the drivers fault but maybe there is a reason THIS happens all the time.Here is a solution: MAKE A QUICK ANNNOUNCENT AND INFORM THE CUSTOMERS OF THE TOWING SITUATION.It literally takes no effort to do this. Customers will appreciate that you are looking out for them.
