Food is cheap and decent, not great compare to the more expensive store like 85C.Worst, after I used my card to purchase today, there were two illegal international transactions at a store in Hong Kong according to the bank that I reported unauthorized transaction. Even without proof, I am 100% sure this store stole my debit card credentials and give it to it’s gang in HK, The store owner has ethnic ties to HK/China based on the dialect the cashier speaks! Use only cash at this store or stay away from this store!

Sunday lunch with long line and people kept coming. I think it tasted much better than other dimsum around Milpitas and North San Jose. Best deal is the lunch specials for your bucks. 👍

Following a ramen lunch a few stores down I tried this place because I love me a good egg tart (dan ta) whenever I see a HK Bakery sign. I walked in and it felt like an emporium of dim sum on display. Imagine multiple level plastic display of steamed, fried, baked goodies. You need to speak to your server through the walled case of treats. I also spotted a freezer of buns (baos). The egg tart gets a 3.5 star rating from me because Im comparing it to the Mountain View Hong Kong Bakery. The egg custard was more white, the crust more thick but less flakey (more dough-ey) and it was cold. I want to try this place again because that shrimp chive pan-fried dumpling with its paper-thin translucent skin and size (like my balled fist) was calling my name. I said, laters.

People working here were terse, languid, and sullen. But I sort of get them, with the dividend of speaking their language. They did the work fast and right and was good to me.The Dim Sum items were quite good with large portion and reasonable price. The pork porridge with preserved aka century-old eggs (皮蛋瘦肉粥) was excellently cooked to perfection. The health benefits of these duck eggs would surprise you. I also recommend sesame ball, fried shrimp ball, and crystal chive dumpling.There were three sets of lunch menu to choose from at $12 including porridge and a few dum sums.They charged 3% surcharge to use credit card.

I was really craving some dim sum... Havent had it in months. This place had good reviews and was closer by. I love mom and pop shops. This felt a little like the Soup Nazi with one of the servers... Luckily I got the nicer one. Food was ok... The ha gow was a bit dry and not enough seasoning. I know it not healthy but usually the shrimp is mixed with pork fat to make it juicy or use large whole Tiger shrimp but that get expensive. Fish congee was really good in terms of taste. So it was a mixed experience.

Get here early and bring cash! I love their dim sum and the prices are decent. Sometimes they close early because… they run out. 😆 Try to score their baked BBQ buns when you can, too. So much better than other more expensive dine-in restaurants in San Jose. 👍🏼

My go to casual take out dim sum bakery.My favorite is their bbq pork buns, both baked and steamed. The baked kind is done very well. Steamed kind sometimes has more fatty pork than I prefer, but the flavor and bread is on point. I also like theirTheir other dim sums are decent but not highest on my list but if you need a quick fix this place is well rounded.Be mindful of long lines on weekend late mornings. Dont be surprised if they run out of baked stuff after 1pm.Cash only so bring cash!

This is the worst experience I have come to the United States. I waited in line for 15 minutes, and suddenly a Mandarin-speaking person behind me asked something. At that time, I didnt care because I couldnt understand Mandarin. When I arrived, I order the egg tart.The waiter told me, the people behind you have also ordered, but there are only two left, you can talk among yourself. I said but I was in front of him, and the person behind me said, but you have no order. what? ? So why am I queuing? What is the point of queuing? I will never come to this store again

Dont sleep on those pan-fried shrimp and chive dumplings! Worth the wait in line. My other favorites are the egg tarts, scallion bread, and deep fried shrimp dumplings. They only make a certain number of batches per item, so go early otherwise stuff runs out around 3pm.

A good variety of Cantonese dimsum. Quality is average. Cannot compare to ones in Chinese restaurants where the dimsum would be steaming hot when served. The prices used to be good a few years ago. The current higher prices are much less attractive. The service is literally hit or miss. One staff is very nice. The other not as gentle. It is a matter of luck whether you will be treated like a customer or not.

We used to call them cheap dim sum; however, they gradually raised prices so they are not cheap anymore. Also, we noticed yesterday that they lowered quality. We got some hard parts and bones from Shumai, and missing flavor /sauce of Sticky Chicken Rice. Some dumplings have too thick wrap and hardly any inside. On top of that, regular cashier person is fine but another person is so unfriendly. In short, raising prices, lowering quality, and unfriendly service. We dont feel like to go back there again.

Decent place for porridge and dim sum (takeout). Great for takeout breakfast and prices are very reasonable. Youll have to line up with all the aunties to get your food, so you know its pretty legit. The seating is very minimal there, so its better to get the food to go and heat it up at home. I especially like the soy milk and the pan-fried leek dumplings. The malay cake is also good, and its pretty unusual to find that sold in stores.

They are open early, have many dim sum choices and priced low.Their sets mentioned on the yellow board in the back is great value. They offer a porridge, some buns, some dim sums for ?$4-5?You can also pickup the usual dim sum items like tofu wrap, chicken feet, steamed buns, chow mien, fried rice on the side.Friendliness doesnt exist, but they do get the job done fast.Everything in general is good, but leaves a very oily full feeling in my stomach that it makes me not want to repeat.

I was pretty disappointed with this place, and I am generally not super picky. I had called beforehand to find out if they had a certain type of custard bun. The person who answered the phone said yes (in the frozen section). I drive (a ways there) only to find that there are in fact no buns there. The cashier was pretty rude! I ended up getting a pork dumpling (the skin was dried out) and the white radish cake (very little dried shrimp & meat). Honestly, Dim Sum King is way better - better food, friendlier, much cleaner. Bummer since it would have been nice to have more than one option for dim sum.

Authentic fast casual dim sum options in a no frills setting. Limited seating options and service is terse so dont expect them to pamper you. Overall the food is decent but later in the day some of the dim sum will lose its quality due to the extended time sitting in a heater. Definitely a good place if youre looking for very affordable, quick authentic cantonese lunch cuisine and Hong Kong Patriots.

Tasty Chinese dim sum without all the fuss of sitting down at a regular restaurant. Lines are usually long during weekend mornings so prepare for the that. Bakery has all my favorites like congee, youtiao, egg tarts, pineapple buns and lo mai gai, all at a low, low price. A little bit intimidating while ordering even if you know how to speak Cantonese, but youll get over it when you start feasting.

The rudest service I ever had in US in three decades. The women in front service yelled to me for each item I thought about what next item I wanted. There was no other customer waiting after me, and it was about 4pm on Jan 5th Wed. The one star was given to another helper who fetched the medium fried Fan for me.Honestly, I believe the service would be much better, if I were a white American, or if I were a man. From what I observe, she yelled to me because I am an Asian. That kind of employee in service shall go out of that position, or the business shall consider seriously to lay off your unhappy unqualified employee right away in order not to drag down your business.

I take my mom to this place at least 3 times a month and all the food is great! But the English is not so good and they cant seem to figure out that if two or more items are the same price and things come in threes here, so if I want two of one item and one of another I should be able to do that, because they are all the same price for three but be warned they will not do that without a fight. Now I was here today and my 86 year-old mom wanted two of this one item in the window, now the items were a dollar 89 each or three for $4 When I told her I wanted two of the dumplings my mom wanted, she told me in very broken English only 3 or 1 I just about flipped my lid so I told her okay give me 1 dumpling then give me another 1 dumpling then she gave me this look which was she didnt look at me again! But I finally got my 2 dumplings for my mom. Looking back its easier to just to order 3!!!! Ha! Ha!!! Cant say enough about the food. Its Great!!

UPDATE: 05/26/22 12:30pm. I just got noodles with chicken was not good. Tasteless, chicken hard as jerky and along with 2 egg roll. Inside turned to mush of cabbage and something else. I got the old stuff. Thus maybe just a fluke, but not impressed. This place has a nice selection of dim sum and other items like noodle dishes and fried rice. We really like the baked pork buns, sui mai, har gow, deep fried shrimp dumplings, seafood sui mai, stuffed eggplant, shark fin dim sum, fried chicken and more. We havent tried the soup or several other items that sound appealing. They used to be cash only but now take cards and add a surcharge. Its to go only so I usually heat up what I want for a minute in the microwave.

While everybody is wearing mask and sometimes it’s hard to hear clearly what other says, I ordered the shrimp dumpling noodle soup and they though I wanted just shrimp dumpling. I told them i wanted the cooked one (with noodle) and the lady who was helping with my order showed me a horrible attitude almost like scolding me for not making it clear. That middle-age lady had a ponytail and had no appreciation for my patronage while another lady with shorter hair eventually did say “thanks” when I was ready to pick up my order.

The woman working at the counter is such a rude person, with such a horrible customer service. I asked her what is one of the bun, very nicely expecting a friendly answer, she yelled at me and got extremely frustrated and said you shouldn’t order if you don’t know what it is and walked away. I dont know if you can call this a hole in the wall kind of quick bite, but gaddang this place is good! They got that dumpling and shumai going on in here. Its appearance is like dont judge a book by its cover kind of place. Come for the food mayn. So easy and simple to pick what you want. I always get the shrimp dumpling and chives dumpling. They have some tables for a quick stay right after you shopped at the Lions grocery stores or something. I recommend this place for a quick bite and for the price.

This place deserves one star because of their dishonesty! My mom and I have been the victims. When we bought bbq duck or pork with them, we paid for the full price but received half of what we paid when we got home. The butcher would chop our bbq meats behind the cover-up screen without letting us see the chopping going on. When I bought the duck, I came home with two missing drumsticks and only the bony parts of the duck left in the box. My daughter loves the duck drumsticks but we couldn’t offer to her! I notice the portion difference as I have bought from other places. I am guessing they would save up some chopped up pieces (that I paid for) for rice plate combination to sell for later on. This had happened to me twice, once to my mom ! It is NOT right for them to cheat customers like this!! SO please, be careful the next time you buy bbq meat there!

The preserved egg and lean meat porridge is awesome! Very authentic!The skin of the barbecued pork buns was too thick and the filling was not flavorful enough, which was a pity.I will try the rice rolls recommended by netizens next time!
