🍛🚗🌟 Stepped into Woodlands Indian Cuisine and felt like Id taken a direct flight to South Indian flavor town! Wallet-friendly and oodles of options that scream authentic and oh-so-fresh. Their Vadas? LEGENDARY. Seriously, if there was an Olympics for Vadas, these would take gold. Dive into that tomato chutney - a fresh splash of deliciousness. And the paneer dosa? Let’s just say its become my food BFF. Four visits in two months? Yeah, I’m smitten. Hosts? Top-tier friendly. Not a fan of the boxed sweets though - they can keep those. Ambience? A solid 3.5 stars. But hey, with free parking right next door, whos complaining?

Ive traveled throughout India and have to say, they serve very Authentic Southern Indian food here and what Id call the best dosa and idli Ive ever tried in LA!I recommend their thali plate lunch special (the idea behind a thali is to offer all the 6 different flavours of sweet, salt, bitter, sour, astringent and spicy on one single plate-wiki), tofu 65, and their dosa and idli (the probiotics within are great for calming an upset stomach!). The owners of this restaurant really care about service a lot.It’s a good restaurant with decent food overall. I really wish there was some amount of spice added to the food items.We tried the following items:1. Special Rava Masala Dosa: It was good. Like I said before, wish they added made it a little spicy.2. Woodlands Special Spring Dosa: pretty average, to be honest.3. Deluxe South Indian Thali: Again, it was pretty decent. They do offer decent portions for what they charge.Overall, it’s a pretty decent restaurant.

I ordered delivery & I’m a picky eater (no onion no cilantro this on the side etc 🤦🏼‍♀️) so I had many little requests expecting none to be read or followed but everything was delivered BETTER than expected.. the taste amazing!! The instruction following perfection!!! I’m so happy as I’ve lived in Bay Area where Indian food is in abundance but moved south last year & just found this place after longing to find South Indian food for a year (as the 2 places I lived didn’t have any Indian let alone South Indian cuisine) I’m ecstatic this exceeded my expectations and I’ll be eating it as often as I can!!!

My friends and I walked into Woodlands Indian Cuisine on a weeknight without reservations and they immediately saw us down and answered all of our questions. We asked them to give us recommendations of what to get since it was the first time we were there. Everything they suggested was amazing! We highly recommend their garlic bread and there was a spicy cauliflower appetizer that was delicious. My favorite dish was the Paneer Masala. We cant wait to go back and try more things!

Absolutely love this place. I have been visiting this restaurant since a few years now. Just cannot get enough of their tasty food. And the owner is so nice, very warm and welcoming. I appreciate their service too.I used to visit them frequently earlier but now since I have moved quite far away, I am unable to visit this place as frequently as I would like but I still make it a point to have a meal there every time that I am driving towards the valley.I had my plate meal very recently, attached are some pictures for your reference. I always pack some more food to go as well, lol. And their Mysore Pak, oh God, it is heaven. So yummy!!The best part is that you can order so much food and still not make a hole in your pocket.This is one of the best Indian restaurants in and around the LA area for sure.

Went there for a late dinner with family, they have a nice menu catering to south indian dishes mostly!We ordered gobi Manchurian ( my favorite) and a combo .The idlis were soft and moist, dosa was crispy and large enough for two people atleast. The sambhar could have been better i would say. Manchurian was a bit on oily side but i loved the tangy spicy taste. Overall, a good place for comfort food.

I’m South Indian. I grew up eating South Indian food regularly (and still do). Woodlands is without a doubt the best South Indian restaurant in SoCal. Everything — from the vadas to the dosas to the filter coffee — is excellent. Tastes like a meal you’d get in India.

This does not represent South Indian cuisine. The sambar for the dosas was mostly flavored liquid. The Mysore masala dosa was at least proper consistency but with too much red chutney on the dosa the potato filling was uninspired and bland despite us not specifying a spice level. The green chutney had overflowing amounts of coconut in it. The owner and servers were very friendly and in good spirits, but the food was lacking.

A good Indian restaurant famous for its cuisine specifically authentic south Indian foods and snacks. Place is spacious and can handle good crowd. Love this place for dosa, medu wada, idly, paratha, veg thali’s and sweets. Employees are friendly and behaviors are Ok. Have common parking for entire shopping complex surrounded the store.

Authentic south indian food. One of the best place to satisfy your indian food cravings. Food is flavorful, not too spicy and perfectly done. Dosa, idli vada, uttapam and curries are a must try here. Quick service, helpful staff, less waiting time, clean and cozy place. Nice location and lot of parking spots. They have dinner buffet on Wednesdays and sometimes indo-chinese special. This morning ordered one doz samosas and one doz medu vada to be picked up at 2 pm ! Went there, when paid saw they charged 6.95 each per order containing 2 pieces each !Surprised to see that charge for take away, I could understand if i had ordered dine in that charge !Supplier had confusion seems to have packed 18 pieces of vada as he said its 3 pieces each order ! We used to visit this place more often. Few months back while having lunch, my wife found a piece of hair in her Uttapam on her 2nd or 3rd bite. We informed the owner and server. My wife left her Uttapa as it is and we shared our food with her. We took it lightly and thought owner will not charge for the Uttapa but I was wrong,, she was little greedy and charged for it. It was not expected and it was our last day there. We are now visiting other places to eat South Indian food..one in Culver city and one closer to this place called Chennai Tiffin.

Today 28,October 2018, I, along with my son n his friend visited Woodlands Indian restaurant for lunch around 3 pm,we drove around 30 miles from Graffith observatory to woodlands Indian hotel to have our lunch but were disappointed. My son ordered for bhelpuri n masala dosa, bhel was some what OK OK, dosa he could eat only half n left it, said it was no good. I n his friend ordered for south indian thali meals, chapathi wasnt good, I ate only half, rather they dont know how to make, the sambar was spoilt, told the waiter, he brought another cup n replaced, to our horror the same sambar was re heated n served, I ordered for sweet n sour lemon juice, the Waiter served the lemon juice n when I sipped, I got only salt which was lying at the bottom, wanted to spit but swallowed with difficulty. I stirred n tasted, the salt was too much, told the waiter, he replaced another glass of juice this time I asked without the salt in it. The thali contained green sabji, chana masala, kurma, masala dahi, rice, split sambar, pepper rasam, papad. Vermicelli payasam, pickle . None of the items satisfied me, especially the Bangaloreans find it difficult to OK any south Indian dish abroad. The Karnataka is the best place for best food.

Woodland is always a good experience. They may have a better regular lunch special, but I decided to ask to make it vegan. And honestly the rasam won me over.Rasam is like an Indian hot and sour soup. Highly recommend if you feeling a little under the weather. This time I didnt order a dosa, and just focused on the thali. There were many options present as seen in the photo. One think I was less of a fan was the potato mixture which they put in a dosa as one of the curries. But I did finish everything and it was filling. Worth sharing and getting a couple of idlis or a dosa.Im just surprised it wasnt as packed as I had assumed it to be. During the dinner time, it usually gets packed. At the moment they are not doing the buffet but they are offering a thali.

We were there for a weekday dinner. I had the Special Rava Masala Dosa, it was well made and had good flavor. My husband had the Mysore Masala Dosa, the spice paste inside was excellent though dosa could be a bit crisper.The dosas were good but sambar and chutneys were just average.The restaurant by itself looked like a college dorm room. Shabby, cluttered and things everywhere. I wish they would tidy up the restaurant, it was clean but unkempt, it is off putting. The staff though was courteous and efficient.Its one of those places that can be a fallback place for us Dosa lovers, considering its a speciality food with limited options, but not a preferred joint.

A popular restaurant where Indians visit fie chats, north Indian n south Indian food items. I think the Tate n quality if the food served must be improved. The south Indian we ordered was not up to our expectations. The sambar was spoilt, when told the waiter brought another cup of sambar, the same one re heated n served. The masala Sosa n bhelpuri was not satisfactory regarding the taste. I dont recommend this restaurant.

This place is a gem in the valley. I have been coming to Woodlands for over 20 years. I remember the glorious lunch buffets (now no longer). People who used to go to Parus (now closed) should support this business. Their dosas are delicious. They recently changed the recipe on their coconut chutney. Felt the need to have an Indian cuisine experience with meat at first. Called to ask if theres any meat and the manager/chef said strictly vegetarian, and he meant every word of that. My wife and I wanted spicy curry with chicken... he said why not try both veggies and cottage cheese? Best choice and recommendation of this year. Very respectful, great service! I used to visit this restaurant more often before COVID and after a long gap visited last weekend. I was very much disappointed with the food and the ambience. Firstly, Indoor seating has a lot of clutter, definitely not all customers would adjust with that. Secondly, the food was not as it used to be. Ordered Kanchipuram idli, but we got rava idly with cashews, being a south Indian foodie and who has tried this very dish numerous times, I can tell that this is not it. Parota was as pale as snow white, I even thought that the cook forgot to fry both sides after thawing. Rava Dosa, pongal and vada were so yummy and authentic. I would still go to this place, because I love thier food ( really miss Valley India cafe). I also need to be honest when it comes to scope for improvement.

This place was okay. We did takeout, got four combos with dosas. I dont recommend takeout because all of the dosas were soggy and mush by the time we got home. If you are looking for south Indian food in the valley, then please do not go to this restaurant. One of the managers ( short height, wearing casual colored pants and shirt, not white with a mustache ) humiliated me and my friend saying Dosa is not unlimited for buffet lunch loudly in front of everyone when we asked for the second one. Shame on him to be managing the restaurant when he cant respect the customers. Very very stingy people. I hope this restaurant shuts down one day with full of loss. Ive only been here for the lunch buffet but they deserve five stars just for this! Most of the buffet options are vegan and the buffet is clearly labeled as to what is vegan and want isnt. Been going there for a while. Owners were not present on Sunday dec 1,2019. Took the buffet. Ordered 4th dosa and one of the lead guys (wearing casual clothes and a mustache) informed me that additional dosas were extra on Sunday as I waited in the buffet line to get sambhar in front of everybody.He did say that he was going to get me one but i felt humiliated. None of the other waiters mentioned dosas being extra. During cash out, a different waiter unaware of anything that happened charged me for two buffets. This guy brought up the extra dosa issue because i was on my fourth. Paid and left immediately. No apologies, no respect, didnt care one bit. Never ever going back. We were browsing through their menu on their website and came across a coupon for 15%off for Dinner on Tuesdays and Thursdays.Our Anniversary was on Tuesday so after we were done with our dinner we asked the server about the dinner discount they have advertised on their website. His response was he is unaware about it but can give us 10%off if we pay cash. To the 15% off dinner discount he asked us to talk to his manager. We explained him that the coupon on their website says no where to PRINT and PRESENT and it is on their own website not a 3rd party coupon. To which he replied that it doesnt say that we can show it on phone either..Seriously!!! If it doesnt say anything how the coupon should be presented, you should take it in either form!!! And when we talked about the 10% cash discount, he denied that too!!! We called our server who told us about the 10% discount on cash payment and he changed his statement saying that he meant on a CASH CARD!!! What the hell in the world is a cash card??? Definitely try the dosas. The best Ive had. All their food is amazing. Besides the dosas, I would recommend the Gobi Manchurian and chana masala with bhatura.

Authentic South Indian food. Went there with the kids for lunch buffet. A little crowded, but mostly an tamilian crowd, which is a good sign.
