Peking Dragon Restaurant
34171 Pacific Coast Hwy, Dana Point, CA 92629, United States
This is a sad day... ????My family has been going to this restaurant for 35 years and I do not want to pan them. The new ownership is in imminent danger of killing this restaurant Dana Point has dozens of fantastic eating options, both new and long established, and the city does not suffer fools. While the primary corses have yet to be noticeably altered there are several changes that have caused me to say goodbye.First, foremost and most egregious they have replaced their fantastic and amazing handmade egg rolls with resteraunt supply Springrolls (I recognize them as identical to a very cheap Chinese to-go place in San Juan that I tried once). This is going from an A+ appetizer to a D- on what was universally one of my families favorite items on the menu. To add insult to injury I was gaslighted me when I complained to the manager. Not only are they lying by representing their new Spring Rolls as Egg Rolls but he argued that the new rolls were better then the old ones. He argued that my subjective opinion was wrong. Btw they are objectively worse. Yes I do know those two sentences are in contradiction but they ironically both true. He also tried to tell me almost no one had complained while I was in the middle of complaining to him! So Im no one!?!?! The story he fed is that they had an old man, 80 years, who had been making the rolls and that he retired and now no one could learn how to make them properly. Personally reading between the lines I think he just didnt want to pay someone normal wages to continue making them but this is pure speculation on my part however. Last point on the rolls, he suggested having the fried chicken appetizer instead (also not good) the next time we came in not offering to replace the spring rolls that we clearly did not want and left them sitting un eaten on the tables. After we requested, he did replace them with the fried chicken that was also not good. The atmosphere of the restaurant has also changed for the worse the decor has never been updated since we have been going in there and I do believe I mentioned that we have been going there for 35 years. I could tolerate this since they do seem to keep it clean, but they have added weird valentines Day party decorations that went up before Valentines Day and are still floating over around the restaurant! It is just a very weird and contradictory to the atmosphere of a traditional American style Chinese restaurant. There are sadly so many great restaurants that are ruined by new ownership! Im afraid to say that Peking Dragon is suffering the bane of new owners thinking they can run the place better then it was before for many, many ...MANY YEARS!!! Cutting cutting cost and changing recipes will be their death.

The Little Kitchen Asian Cafe
24831 Del Prado Ave, Dana Point, CA 92629, United States
I am visiting from St George Utah to Orange county which is really home for me. I am an implant from California to Utah caregiving for my mother. My go-to comfort food is wonderful, fresh, tasty, Chinese food! I had another restaurant in mind that I was going to for years. But Im staying at the local Residence Inn, and they highly recommended the Little Kitchen Asian Cafe. I wanted a variety and more than enough to eat the second day reheating in a toaster oven. My order consist of appetizer fried shrimp, orange zest chicken, combination meat egg foo young, combination fried rice, and the best vegetable was the sauteed green beans and asparagus, honey walnut shrimp. Oh my goodness! The portions were great but the food and the taste was by far superb! first time trying the food on my vacation break and before I head back to Utah I will be revisiting the restaurant once again for takeout. I highly recommend this place if you like good Asian cuisine. Everything was so authentic and fresh ingredients. When Im in Dana Point again which I try to come back home at least once a year. This will be my go-to place.

Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
32525 Golden Lantern Suite DE, Dana Point, CA 92629, United States
First of all, the food was excellent. No complaints there so I am really sad to have to write this. The name of the business is Pick Up Stix. You pick up the food to go. Its wonderful. My complaint is the customer service. We called for over 15 minutes to try and order food to go. We got off the freeway and called all the way to the restaurant and no one answered. My husband had the phone ringing when he walked in. There was not a ton of activity. There was not a line at the counter. The response when he asked the young woman why she didnt answer his call? I am too busy. He told her the phone was ringing now. Her response? She turned it off at the switch. No apology. Nothing. So a business that survives based on the amount of food it sells has an employee that turns the phone off so she cant hear it. I am a manager of a business and I can tell you that if I ever read a review like this about one of my staff, they would no longer have a job. The food is excellent. I think you need a change in staff that reflects the quality of your food. Trust me. This employee was not excellent.

This is a very good spot. Went in for the first time after hearing about it from some friends and finally got to try it and left beyond satisfied. The service was great, I went in during lunch hour and was greeted and sat by Andrew who was also our server, as well as Marcos who is one of the founders. Both great people and delivered one of the best guest experiences I have ever had. As a server I enjoy seeing what great things can come out of people and places like this. I came with a friend and my big appetite so we ordered the arancini, Cesar salad, and the hwy 1 pizza and they all had GREAT taste. Starting with the Cesar Salad, the dressing wasn't as creamy or heavy like you would get in other places and just tossed perfectly, the lettuce looked fresh and Andrew did the traditional table side pepper sprinkling which I believe having that in any restaurant means they don't mess around when it comes to giving great service. I also used to be a pantry a chef so I will say this salad beats all the Cesar Salads I've ever made in my whole career with its taste and visual. Right after was the arancini, who ordered meatballs? This is still new to me but it tasted so good too and a great starter to share, also if you're vegetarian(not vegan)this would be a great alternative I'm sure there are also vegan options I didn't fully pay attention to the menu since I was skimming through it but knowing one of my friends who has a dairy allergy has eaten here before I'm sure this place will go above and beyond to meet your needs! And finally the Hwy. 1 pizza came out fresh from the oven, Every topping looked very fresh. I don't know what secrets other pizza places hold but this place isn't hiding anything from you and the pizza says it all. You can see the chefs making your pizza from your table and it came out pretty quickly. The aromatics from the sauce mixed very well with the vegetables, I want to say it was the caramelized onions that created the explosion of flavor in my taste buds but maybe it was just everything. Not only did I leave with a full stomach but also a full heart. No those aren't heart palpitations it's really cupids arrow telling you this is the pizza and this is the spot.

11th year Anniversary. Stayed one amazing evening. Bed creaked on one side. That was only issue. Room had all the amenities. Even fridge for the Chinese takeout. Too lazy to eat at the awesome restaurants around. Next time. Beautiful view. Fireplace, spa bath, and comfy bed. Paid a handsome fee but worth it. Kudos. Could only shoot some shots on my prof cam. Phone on the rest. Its a special spot.

Eden Vegan Restaurant

We were there on August 1st for dinner celebrating my sisters birthday ? early . My sis & her husband had been there once before . Its a very clean restaurant with many selections of tea & varieties of Asian foods, Chinese,Thai,Japanese, Vietnamese. Everything we had was very tasty, not too salty which is usually the case with Asian foods ( salty ) ?. Lomen, might be a misspelling, sorry, was very yummy !! Spring roll like a rice paper roll thing as an appetizer was good which we shared as well. My sisters husband had a coconut curry dish . He enjoyed it. I was sleepy, so I dont remember another dish we shared ! Lol. The workers at this restaurant were very nice, friendly & courteous, too !! Theyve got nice booths . We were given a table right by the window ! We were celebrating my sisters birthday, but, we skipped the cake / desert as we ate a lot not too long before we got there ! We had jasmine tea which smelled super nice like a perfume ( in a good way )reminded me of my old favourite Creeds jasmine perfume I used to wear !! Lol Also, I had a ginger tea which was sweetened, they didnt inform me, though ! I would had appreciated if he did tell me ! Some may find it too sweet. It was o.k.sweetness to me, it was a good tea. But,a bit too sweet for me, too ! Although I enjoyed it ! They had a bathroom inside . Their doggie waited in my sisters car in the parking lot. It was around 8pm to 9: 30 pm. They had Gelsons & CVS in the plaza which we found it convenient !! We shopped a little at the Gelsons afterwards ! I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant !!

RAYA

Disappointing Experience Not Befitting a 5-Star EstablishmentMy recent visit to the RAYA Restaurant at the Ritz Laguna Niguel was a glaring disappointment.Let's start with the positives: the view. Overlooking the serene beach and bay, the panorama is nothing short of breathtaking. The food, though well-prepared and flavorful, came with a hefty price tag and portions that left much to be desired. Now, onto the numerous shortcomings. Despite having a window table reserved for 7 PM and arriving punctually, we were left standing for an agonizing 30 minutes before being seated. This was particularly disappointing given that my wife had made this reservation to celebrate my birthday. Astonishingly, the restaurant made no effort to acknowledge this special occasion – no complimentary dessert, no birthday greeting, nothing.Once seated at 7:30 PM, it took another 30 minutes before we could place our order. In the interim, no bread or complimentary appetizers were offered – a standard in many fine dining establishments, let alone a 5-star hotel.Service continued to falter as we were served incorrect dishes twice, and the adjacent table experienced a similar mishap with missing fries. These errors are unacceptable at any restaurant, but particularly egregious in an establishment of this supposed caliber.Additionally, the lack of music created an unpleasant, almost train station-like atmosphere, detracting from the overall dining experience. In conclusion, while RAYA's scenic views and culinary potential are commendable, the overall service quality was profoundly disappointing. For the high prices commanded, patrons rightfully expect a seamless and celebratory dining experience, which RAYA unfortunately failed to deliver. This visit was a stark reminder that exceptional views cannot compensate for subpar service.
