Mayflower Restaurant

One of the best Dim Sum our family ever had in the Bay Area and you are talking about our family is from San Gabriel Valley in LA with tons of great Chinese Restaurants. Great service also and must try it to see for yourselves. On our way back from Sacramento to LA and passing by 580 figure better get some decent food before heading down I-5 and we definitely found a gem in Dublin for Chinese food and highly recommended.

Shangrila Chinese Cuisine
6568 Village Pkwy, Dublin, CA 94568, United States
Recently, I decided to eat at Shangri-La Chinese restaurant, located in Dublin, CA. I tried their lemon chicken and fried vegetable eggrolls.I will say what I was expecting to get, and what I actually got was too different things. The eggrolls we basic and slightly overcooked, but still tasted good. They used lumpia shells instead of the traditional eggroll shells, which gave the eggrolls a crisper and crunchier bite. The eggrolls came with a spicy mustard, which somehow tasted like their version of wasabi and the classic sweet and sour sauce. The lemon chicken on the other hand, is what surprised me the most as I had envisioned real chicken chunks tossed around in some type of secret lemon seasoning and fried. Instead, what I got was chicken bites (which seemed like the type you could buy at Costco or Sams Club) with lemon flavored sauce drizzle over it that looked exactly like the sweet and sour sauce but was yellow in color instead. The lemon chicken was accompanied by my choice of fried rice, which was also average in taste, and a small side of sautéed vegetables. I will say that even though the lemon chicken wasnt what I was expecting, the sweetness of the lemon sauce still made it taste great. The restaurant had only been open for about 20 minutes when I arrived, but there were customers already there and eating, and the flow continued throughout my meal, so it is safe to say that their food is popular with the locals.All-in-all, if I found myself in the mood for some Chinese food, I would definitely eat here again.

Happy Lamb Hot Pot Dublin
4068 Grafton St, Dublin, CA 94568, United States
Solid AYCE hotpot place. Not fantastic, but you gotta set your expectations correctly for the east bay. They currently offer the basic menu for $20 (for lunch) and $29 (for dinner), and the premium menu for $36 (both dinner and lunch). We got here on a cold Sunday night around 5:30pm and arrived at the same time as 2 other parties! Shortly afterwards, a huge line formed by the door. So certainly going earlier is better. They have an iPad at the front with Yelp waitlist -- sign your party up there since they seem to go by the waitlist even when the restaurant is not completely full.General info:Tons of parking in the parking lot out front so no need to worry about that. However, this restaurant is not nearly as big as it needs to be, especially in the communal areas where people are getting food (especially because the entrance line ALSO forms around there if its cold out and everyone wants to wait inside). Additionally, stands are put up next to each table to hold their meat, so you have to channel your inner temple run whenever you walk from your table to the self-serve area. Its not terrible, just slightly uncomfortable and you may have to wait a couple minutes to get your items.Service:The service is polite and attentive (they asked us multiple times if we needed meat). Not terribly friendly, but thats not what I need from a hotpot restaurant.Food:We always get the best of both worlds broth selection because we love the spicy broth flavor, but need to balance it out occasionally with the original. The AYCE includes a decent amount of food included some cooked food like fried chicken, egg fried rice, etc. Lots of veggies and mushrooms too, and I love the quail eggs + all the different tofu options. They include marinated garlic beef in that area, so dont waste one of your 3 meat plate orders on that item. The dessert area consisted of sesame balls (quite dry), fried mantou with condensed milk (not bad), and a soft serve ice cream machine with chocolate, mixed, and vanilla flavors. I got the mixed flavor and it was very icy. My husband said the vanilla was creamier. We never got the premium meats so Im not sure how that section pans out, but weve been happy with the meats weve gotten on the basic menu (weve only tried the beef, pork, and lamb). I would not advise getting the special lamb bone for the actual meat, because the meat consists of just whatever tiny flecks of meat didnt come off whenever they cooked it earlier. If youre just getting it to put in your soup for flavor, then go for it!

Came for lunch and left quite satisfied. Its also conveniently located nearby the outlets so keep it in mind for a place to eat before/after you shop considering food choices at the outlets are abysmal at best.Everything we ordered was tasty! We began with the marinated cucumbers which were hearty and crisp. Everyone at the table enjoyed them!Next came the beef roll which was pretty good. The flavors of the hoisin sauce with the marinated beef and fresh burst of cilantro just pairs so well together. Although we couldnt taste the burnt bits it was a little awkward watching the chef behind the glass breaking off the burnt bits on the pancake before making it for us. Still, I do appreciate that everything is made to order.Onto the show stoppers - the XLB. I thoroughly enjoyed these juicy bois! The crab one especially had a very nice though subtle seafood flavor. The dumpling skins were remarkably thin, almost transparent on some pieces! The meat inside was tender as if it was braising for hours and the broth was unctuous. Quite the delicious bite!Rounding out our meal were the steamed chives/pork/shrimp dumplings and the pan fried pork buns. Between the two, the dumplings showed more finesse. The skins again were remarkably supple and generously filled with the meat and veggie mixture. The pan fried buns were a little too generous in size. You had to chew through a good amount of bread before you got to the soup and meat inside. The bottom were golden, but not evenly so.Total for lunch for 4 was $70. Cant complain there! However, I will say service (or lack of) was weird. When we walked in, the staff asked how many, sat us, and gave us a tick sheet. After marking it up, they refused to take it and asked us to line up at the register! Why sit us if you consider yourself an order first at the register type of place? Bizarre.

Koi Palace - Dublin
4288 Dublin Blvd #213, Dublin, CA 94568, United States
I am happy Koi Palace is here in East Bay because the one in Penisula is impossible to get a table for dim sum without a 2-Hr wait or some bribes to the waitress. The Dublin location has two restaurants. This is the higher end of the two, which also has a long line for dim sum but is alright for dinner time. The restaurant is elegant and menu is more on the pricey side. However, we were so happy with the food we ordered. The pork shank appetizer is small but very tasty. We also ordered their xiao long bao and it is very tasty too with thin dough and fatty and juicy meat. The Crispy Chicken was very good with shrimp crackers on the side and tender chicken with crispy skin. The duck roll is also a must with tender and savory duck rolled inside buttery pancake roll. For the carbs, we got the beef chow fun and it is very filling with tons of beef and bean sprout. Another dish we all love is their mushroom mix and tofu. To my surprise, they use egg tofu, which is very tender and tasty and I love the gravy of that dish. This is definitely one of my favorite Chinese restaurants and it offers a wide range of selections.

Koi Palace Express
4288 Dublin Blvd #120, Dublin, CA 94568, United States
I went to this restaurant for dinner with my 5 yrs daughter; we ordered one dish. I was shocked by the 16% service fee being charged as soon as I got the bill. I ask the waitress, Batini, about the service fee for two people and one dish. She said it was the tip. The food was not good. Steam rice was old and hard to chew, char sui was too thin and dry. And service was just ok like all the other fast food restaurants. I told her I was happy to pay the tips according to the service, but she could not charge me what she wanted. Then Batini asked me to wait and called another waitress to take care of my bill. She was just as cold as the Batini and asked me to pay. I asked her what the service fee was. Then she pointed out the fine print at the bottom of the menu. I did not notice that; their waitress should have reminded all the customers. On top of that, they put a tax on the service fee in the bill. I am not going back again. Since the pandemic, their food quality has not been as good as before, and service could have been better as the food.
