Scenic date spot for a Friday night. The best part about this place is the views. Stunning view of the Pacific Ocean, Salt Creek Beach, and grounds of the Ritz Carlton. Fair warning, though, the staff mentioned they won’t be bringing out space heaters until the new year, and it does get chilly on the oceanfront, so I recommend wearing a couple layers at least.The menu was very typical for New American cuisine, and everything was fresh and tasty. We got the ahi tuna and truffle fries. The ahi tuna was accompanied by quintessential California condiments, avocado and blue corn chips. The truffle fries were hot and crispy. I get them everywhere and can confirm these were up to standard. I felt a bit dehydrated, so I opted for a mocktail. I was recommend the Fresh Press, and it was a perfect blend of berries and bubbles.Definitely recommend this secluded gem in South Orange County!

Amazing views of the Pacific Ocean, if you are patient and lucky, you may see dolphins near the beach. Astonishing sunsets and most of all, the excellent service delivered by Marco and Allissann. We came here to spend the $300 Marriott credit card annual bonus👍 There’s a beach parking down the hill (~3min walk) that only costs $1/hour. This place takes walk-ins only, decent food with good cocktails. Loved their passion fruit mojito and ginger cocktails. Fries was a bit undercooked but still yummy. Spectacular view and great service!

The food here is actually amazing. I am surprised to say that as it’s more of a lounge but I think, hands down best yam fries I’ve had in SoCal! Lovely view! Would give it 5 stars but service was subpar that day we were there...maybe understaffed?All in all, worth it. Get the Yam fries!

Very awesome hotel with multiple restaurants on the premises. If you wanna do date night the 180blũ lounge which is outside only with optional stairs that lead to the beach. The food and drinks are just right with reasonable prices. Also includes a kids menu for family night. Love the heat lamps for those cold nights.

Great bar located in the Ritz Carlton Laguna. It overlooks the beach and the view is amazing. It does get packed quick. If you would like to see the sun set we recommend you coming early and finding a spot. Drinks are pricey averaging about $14 -$18 for premium drinks. They give you house made coen nuts when you are seated.We were there 2 nights in a row and their were live pefformers which made the ambiance that much better.A must try is their chocolate cake. It is amazing!!!!

Even during the Pandemic, 180 Blu still produces fantastic foods. As part of staycation for our anniversary, we stayed at the ritz-Carlton.During our stay, no other restaurants were opened except the 180blu restaurant. This is an amazing restaurant with a spectacular view of the Monarch beach. Right now, seating for the restaurant is first come first served with no reservation taken. Since we stay at the hotel, we went early and got the best seat in the house.The foods were second to none. We ordered 4 small plates that included sweet potato fries, honey BBQ chicken wings, quesadilla with cheese and grilled broccoli to share. Out of the 4 dishes, I like the BBQ chicken wings the best. The flavor is great with teriyaki sauce and honey. The sweet potato fries was very good too, crispy and tasty.Don’t forget their ice tea. 180 Blu has the best ice tea in town. The tea flavor is very fragrance without the normal butter taste of black tea. It was just the right drink for a hot day to enjoy the beach view.

The food choices are limited, but the food is yummy and it cines from their upscale restaurant nextdoor. The views are well worth the price. There are conditions under which the staff get really overwhelmed for example when there is a huge line and it starts to drizzle. Yet, when there is not too much traffic, which is also when you want to be there they are friendly, helpful and capable.

Ripoff, poor service, low quality foods, and way overpriced. one non-alcoholic drink will cost you $25 (incl tax n 15% tip). tacos were charred on the outside, had one shrimp cut into pieces, mediocre taste, 2 for $30s. swordfish dish was two kabob scewers with 4 small bite size cubes, dry and way overcooked $30s. lobster grilled cheese, tasted okay, but $40s. sweet potato fries came out soggy, they keep changing menu (ie chefs?) and servers so the service isnt good either, they would bring out our food different times with significant delay so we all had to start eating at different time and now they get your credit card at the time you order??? in the end you have spent a lot of money but everyone in your party will still be hungry so you will be eating dinner somewhere else soon. we suggest eat somewhere better and just walk in to see view...

Very nice lounge area to have drinks and appetizers. You do not need to be a guest at the hotel to come but drinks do range from 18-20+ bux a drink. Appetizers were great i had the ahi tuna and a tamarind drink. I think the area is more for adults and couples, i wouldnt come to lounge with my kids, its not very accommodating in that sense. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Food was quick as well. The view itself is stunning. Ill be back again.

180blu is an outdoor bar that is a short walk from the lobby of the Ritz Carlton in Dana Point. They serve drinks and bar food like burgers and sandwiches. It overlooks the beach and offers beautiful views of the ocean and the sunset. My husband and I enjoyed a glass of champagne while we waited for our reserved table at Raya restaurant at the Ritz Carlton. The server was very helpful with her recommendations of a champagne to choose and she walked our unfinished glasses of bubbly to our table at the restaurant. Only giving this three stars because of the amazing view. Pretty disappointing that the service at a Ritz is so slow they have to resort to an Olive Garden style order system on the table. Most of the time there was only 2 servers and often only 1 for a patio that seats somewhere in the range of 50 people. Food was expensive, but thats what I would expect at a Ritz.......if it came with great service..... disappointing.

I have not Eaten at this establishment. It is unlikely that I would take my wife here based on the # of balanced reviews that ultimately call into question the quality of the service provided by the wait staff. The canned responses from management, responses that are merely different versions of the same sentiment that never seems to change sealed it for me. Had more interest in the diners experience and less interest in just getting something down on paper come through in their responses, I might have questioned harder the reviews I read. Service is 90% of the reason for dining out, as many, my wife and I included, are competent cooks as it is. Its the pampering and unencumbered service that propels us out of the house and into the world of 20% tips for someone else doing the cooking. I can totally relate to the complaints, as of late the 18s - 35 yr Me generation is more concerned with their own evening than with those theyre paid to SERVE. Quality restaurants do not tolerate such mediocre service from their staff. I can get a sincere Thank you at my favorite fish taco joint, at a much more palatable price.

Food quality was Tuna tataki with green salad 5*, smoked swordfish dip 4*, sweet potatoes fries 3* jalapeno aoli sauce 5*, service 4* due to low number of servers serving, otherwise servers were doing an excellent job, their work load seems to hinder service quality, as theyre unable to get to every table fast enough. Need more servers! Quite shocking for a Ritz to have such a low number of staff.As far as the personelle, everyone was super nice, servers, receptionist, valet etc. The atmosphere could be much improved with some live music, surprised there was none in a high end hotel as this. When hotels hire good live music, the consumption grows, also people will remember the experience here more positive, hence they will talk about the hotel more, by that advertising it. Not to mention some people might just come for the entertainment alone, to watch, listen or dance to, and then theyll spend on food and drinks too.

Please read… I am SO SO DISAPPOINTED! My husband and I have been coming to this place for almost 5 years now! We always bring friends or we come by ourselves to see the sunset and have some good food and wine.Yesterday, we brought family that are visiting from out of the country so they could enjoy the view, the food and the service.Unfortunately, they were not able to do any of that! We were seated at our table at 7pm and ordered a bottle of champagne, a bottle of wine, a bunch of appetizers and 3 rolls of Sushi. They brought everything except for the Sushi, they said it was going to take a little longer as they had a lot of orders. It was now 8:30 and I had to call the manager and tell him that we had ordered sushi almost an hour and a half ago, and only then, they were able to rush everything and brought the sushi. We also had ordered another bottle of champagne by then and had quarter of the bottle of wine left. The server came to the table, and said it was the last call and if we wanted anything else. We said no and she grabbed the bottle of wine and left! My husband went chasing her as we still had 1/4 of the expensive bottle left and she said oh let me see. She brought the bottle back to the table and she was going to pour the wine from it, and my husband realized that the bottle was all spilled around and tells her, you already threw that to the thrash right? She said Oh yeah! Well, I thought it was empty! So my husband told her that there was no way he was going to drink wine from a bottle that was taken from the thrash! So she just offered a glass of a cheap wine because they didn’t have that bottle opened to make up for the amount that she threw away!JUST WOW!!!! I would NEVER expect this service from a restaurant like this! Specially coming from a chain like the Ritz Carlton! I’m honestly impressed and had to share this horrible experience!

The view was beautiful but very poor service. Two of the waiters (Juliet and Mario) were very impolite and aggressive and had a really bad attitude. Another waiter told us to sit on a table in the middle and wait for the tables closer to the edge to be available but later on when one of the table got empty and we moved the two waiters that I mentioned their name came yelling at us and said that we’re not allowed to move From one table to another. It was honestly not even a one star experience, the way they treat their costumers is so cheap and unacceptable

This is one of the best places in the Ritz to enjoy a drink and a bite. This it for patio has wonderful views that accompany a well created drink menu and some good food if youre hungry. This makes a great place to hang out with a group of people or a great place to enjoy some reading time as well. The dining area is a lot smaller than it appears on the hotel’s website photo. The tables and chairs are tall so that you may look over the fence to see the ocean. However for a place offering pet’s menu, which is very rare, they only allow pets on the floor, which is far to reach from the tall chairs and makes it really difficult to attend to my dogs, such as feeding them or calming them downing when it gets really crowded around. Overall, this is not a very relaxing place (crowded and loud) and not pet friendly even if they offer pet menu.

I’m sure this is a great restaurant in normal times, but it was very disturbing to my party, as well as a number of others there, that there was a line (INSIDE) to wait for a table instead of a hostess taking names and giving you a buzzer or collecting your cell phone number. The line is indoors, people weren’t properly social distancing and some had no masks on. We had to wait about 45 minutes to an hour indoors for a table. Some folks left the line because of this problem. I think this is very dangerous right now and wholly defeats the purpose of dining outdoors. The Ritz Carlton should be more responsible. I’m definitely not going back until the pandemic is controlled.

The vibe at this restaurant that is located at the roof top of the Dana point Ritz Carlton was awesome unfortunately they open too late at 3pm and they cancel some items from the food menu and the food that have wasnt to our satisfaction, the food took a while to arrived and they seems to be short in staff because I only saw one server, I hope things get better once the pandemic its over

Not sure this should be under fine dining. But was there for breakfast brunch. Surely on the expensive side, but a little surprised when the server brought donuts and offered them to us, like if they had been complimentary, then the bill arrived and the cost... $5.50 each donut. Sure, you can pay that much for a gourmet donut elsewhere, but this was a little excessive. But maybe I should not have been surprised, when a breakfast burrito was $18.
