Ever since A-Jay’s in Gilroy changed ownership the quality in their food and their customer service has gone completely downhill! I ordered a pepper cheesesteak with very little cheese and meat its tons of bread. My husband ordered a beef melt which was not toasted, our fries were extremely under cooked when I say extremely like maybe halfway cooked if that. The fries were so undercooked they all stuck together in a ball as one clump instead of individually fries! I removed the meat from my sandwich to reheat and add cheese “it’s call a cheesesteak” and this is the amount that was give in my sandwich. For what they charge we paid over $34 to have undercooked food and spend our time recooking food we paid for! We will never return to A-Ajay’s in Gilroy !

Generous portions of made-to-order food with personable customer service.I called to check if they were open July 4, and they were closing in 20 minutes, but they said theyd wait for me.I got the A-Jays Classic Cheesesteak, made with thinly sliced ribeye, grilled onions and peppers, and provolone cheese. What really completed it was the bread. The outside was perfectly crisped and still easy to eat. It was reminiscent of a Vietnamese baguette but thinner. This place understands texture, and the bread pairs well with the soft ribeye. And then add in the customer service: boss lady gave me some cheese whiz to dip my cheesesteak. Dont knock it til you try it. It doesnt overpower the cheesesteak but complements it quite well.Next up is the garlic fries. Once again, beautifully cooked to a golden crisp, while the inside still has that little bit of fluffiness.I finished half my cheesesteak and only made a small dent in the fries. Its a good amount for two people. If youve got a large appetite, I think youll be satisfied.Everything was hot, fresh, and Im definitely coming again.

This is the first visit since new owners. We were hopeful it might get even better...maybe it was an off day.? Everything we ordered was worse quality (Ajays cheesesteak, Ajays cheesesteak fries & cheesey tots TO GO). Fries and tots not fried enough, barely any cheese whiz, no seasoning, chewy meat & forgot my ranch & added hot peppers even though we requested no peppers. Staff was friendly. Doubt well be back.

Garlic fries were good. The the Gilroy dog was nasty. Dripping grease. Hotdog was not fully cooked. Maybe I shouldnt order a hotdog at a cheese steak restaurant.

I have got to go from here twice to make sure that it wasn’t a one off the first time I had it. Both times it has been bad. The first I asked for a cheese steak with mayonnaise and lettuce. They ended up loading my sandwich with jalapeños. This time I had loaded tots and there was too much cheese and whole strips of half cooked bacon. The food is just gross and the staff could care less that you are there. Don’t waste your time

We had the Pepper Steak and it was delicious. Meat was tender and it has the right amount of cheese, jalapeño and bell pepper. Highly recommend this sandwich.

This place is GOLDEN. Get yours! The classic is delicious and I love the pastrami melt.Recommend by Me.

Friendly staff and a cute place to get a delicious sandwich! I recommend the pastrami but they have a variety of options. My sandwich got a little messy started to fall apart a bit.

First time here. A friend recommended this place. It wasnt bad would of liked lil bit more cheese. Wasnt to expensive thats always a plus.

I ordered the classic with lite onions and garlic fries and I was happy with my meal.
