First time going here today and WOW the food was amazing. Noodleworld left old town Pasadena last year and I could find a decent place to get Pad See Ew but THIS is the place now. In addition the spicy fried rice was really good.
This places is amazing!!! The food is really good and everyone is kind and helpful. There are some here that dont speak English but they still try to help and are quick to find someone to translate is needed. Leah was kind in letting me taste a tea I never had before and now I know I will get it again. My favorite thing they serve its the Pho, but they Pad Se Ewe (hope I spelt that right) its really good too. Very eclectic and funky, plus they play the blues. Love Ella Fitzgerald!!! I will become as regular a fixture in this place, as the books they display.
Yummy. I thought I didnt like tofu, but the tofu salad is to die for. The waiter warned me that the sea bass I ordered would taste fishy. LOL! Really? I certainly hope so. Its fish, not octopus. What the hell does that even mean? People are so weird. Gee, I certainly didnt expect it to smell and taste like bacon. ;) or chocolate cake, now did I?
Love decor and chill environment to eat at. Best times to dine here is on weekday nights where is not as loud and very relaxed.Favorites are their Tom Yum Shrimp and Noodles.Ahi Tuna salad, and curries.
Awesome new restaurant on Lake Ave. I love the pork tacos. I think they put some kimchee flavor in it. Nice kick! Oh, they dont serve wine but you can bring your own with no corkage fee!
I like the fresh approach the Asian Fusion. I was hoping to try the spicy beef ramen only to find out after Ive paid & been seated they didnt have it available. I felt kinda rushed to order something else & ended up getting the Tom yum ramen thinking I do like both which would seem like an interesting fusion. But I guess not every dish can or should be combined. It just didnt seem to taste good together. I left sort of disappointed. The rest of their menu does leave me curious so Im willing to come back another time.
Ive come here twice, once for brunch and once for dinner.Brunch was disappointing because I ordered eggs benedict with smoked salmon and it was super bland and pricey. My friend ordered something else that was Americanized and it was not worth raving home about.I came back another time and ordered the spicy pork banh mi and also the tom yum ramen - which were better choices.Overall, dont be conned into thinking you shouldnt order Asian food here since thats what people rave home about! My only gripe is that my banh mi was about $10 and I felt like I could get better banh mi somewhere else for way cheaper.Im not a fan! Im not sure Id come back because of my mixed experiences.
Ive been here only once at the recommendation of my brother. Service is good and the ambiance is pretty nice and artsy. Note that its counter service for the utensils and water.I had an iced latte which was well above average. They serve LaMill coffee btw. The pork belly sandwich was good, but I was expecting something a little fattier. Its really quite lean, but for the price, I cannot complain at all.Overall Id say Abricott is better value than most of the other places in the area if you want a budget lunch better than Chipolte or the other fast food in the area.
The food is really good, mine was spicy (Drunken chicken) and my wifes Mussels were delicous.It was little cold and windy on the patio that was closed of by plastic curtains.Overall very nice!
Everyone raves about this place but i think the food is a little overrated. The decor is awesome and plenty of space and seating, but the food is alright. Some of the salad dressing is a little too salty and although the pho is good, you can get it much cheaper in the SGV for better. Dont get me wrong, i still like it its just not my favorite.
My first experience at Abricott was quite interesting.I went for lunch so you would have to order your meal first before taking a seat and then getting a number after you pay.For dinner, you dont have to order and pay first.Its a very interesting since the menu has a selection of food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.It ranges from breakfast type food like omelet, eggs benedicts, waffles to salads, sandwiches, burgers noodle soup (pho and ramen), pad thai, pasta, you name it, they have it!I had the tom yum ramen its like a fusion of thai and japanese.I recommend this place if youre looking for a change in scenery and want variety.People thought your review was:
Laid back Asian fusion restaurant. A mix between Vietnamese, Thai and Singaporean. Got the spicy pork belly sandwich, the sizzling egg and ham baguette and an order of roti. Sorry to say but i was disappointed. Maybe because everything was super oily. I had to dab everything down with a napkin. Definitely a one and done. Peace out Abricott.
Wow, a great combo of Thai, Vietnamese, and French cuisine. Cant decide if you feel like a sandwich, pho, curry, or pad thai; then this is your place. We really like the back library room, it feels like you are hanging out in someones home getting delicious thai food. Since its a local place I will definitely be a regular here.
Tonights experience at Abricott had failed any potential chances of me coming back again.First things first, my friend had made reservations with them couple weeks prior and had made all the proper arrangements of us getting there on time for the back private room. We all arrived but we were placed outside table because the sassy male server immediately said, without checking that we NEVER made any reservation.After a bit reminder and for him to recheck the books, he than found the reservation..RUDE !He than suggested that we just wait since the party before us should be done soon..as we wait at the side table, we never got any water or apologies for the wait. I was so parched but had to just wait!So at 6:30pm ( our reservation was 6:00) we were finally placed in the proper room. He finally over filled our table with 2 bottles of water and also another set of cold water cups? Confused at the matter, he later explained that to us that the first cups were meant for the wine.On to the Food:Not all things were terrible, actually my favorite of the meal was the appetizer - the Indo bread ( curry with chinese pancake) was full of flavor that i ended up eating so much, i used the curry for the overly SWEETENED, Spicy Tofu and Eggplant! IT was soooo sweet I couldnt even eat it. I wanted to tell them about the problem but didnt want any problem from the sassy server!Lastly, our table was full of plates and cups and we literally had to stack everything up and push it aside to throw them hints that we want things cleaned up! It was so annoying that they dont know these simple things?!
Came here for brunch the other day. Some of the dishes are hit or miss. The soups tend not to be that good, but the noodles and sandwiches are pretty tasty. The latte wasnt the best, but I have the feeling that it was an especially bad pull of espresso.
The owners behavior was unbelievably rude. We changed our table because where we were sitting was cold and he told us we shouldnt have done that and that we should leave if were not happy. He had the worst attitude that Ive ever encountered in a restaurant and his own waiters were also upset with him.

The food is a 3 out of 5 but the ambience is a 5 out of 5. We had a great time at this cozy little cafe. We sat next to the books and read and ate for over an hour. It was a lot of fun.
Great spot for groups with a lot of menu choices. Tip: try the coconut pasta and the tuna Soba Salad. Portions are generous, service friendly and the ambiance casual.

There, they recommended something called a spicy pork plate, so I ate it, and it was $10.No tips for lunch. There are many people.The amount is large, and they give a lot of meat like our countrys pork stir-fry. It suited my taste. There is also kimchi.I kept eating, so I couldnt eat it all. The carrots are a bit sour, perhaps because they have been sprinkled with vinegar.

2018-05-17 06:12:22We brought our own drinks, enjoyed an excellent meal and had a great time with 11 people. The staff tolerated our confusing orders and larger group, making us feel welcome and well served. I had their Thai Pad See Yew with beef and found it to be very good. Steamed pork dumplings were a delicious appetizer. The setting is very comfortable and the prices were fair for the large dishes. I definitely recommend Abricott, especially if you bring a bottle of something special for a celebratory date.

2018-03-19 02:27:12Decor and overall atmosphere was calm, homey, and at the same time, modern. I highly recommend the chicken pad thai, or the pork belly sandwich with kimchi. Their waffles are also fantastic if you have a bit of a sweet tooth like me.Prices vary depending on if you order for lunch or dinner, but it still isnt that pricey compared to other restaurants in the area. Will definitely stop to eat there again!

2014-09-04 21:14:54I came here with some friends visiting from Norcal last week and we were searching for a brunch place in Pasadena so I recommended Abricott after doing some research.Abricott is a Vietnamese-French fusion cafe that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The library theme of the restaurant is pretty cute and they even have pretty artwork displayed all over the walls for purchase.Although they are known for their Spicy Pork belly sandwich, I really wanted to order it but they only serve it after 11am, so I ordered the Sizzling Eggs with Toast and a side of Country Style Potatoes instead ($7+$1 for potatoes). I also ordered a latte which came with a cute heart design in the foam. Not sure what kind of coffee they use for the latte but it was SUPER strong! I was pretty wired after only drinking half a cup! The majority of our food was decent and I especially loved the flavored cucumber lime water and citrus water. Ill definitely come back again for lunch to try the Spicy Pork Belly sandwich.Tip* Two hours free parking in the back!

2015-10-19 16:49:35Ive been there twice at this point and its in my top ten for Yellow Curry with Chicken. The dish comes with giant potatoes and carrots and your choice of brown or white rice.Unlike many other places, I was not given the choice to adjust the level of spiciness which lost it a star. That being said, its only moderately spicy and I would have only increased it if given the choice.Definitely recommend this place for curry!

2013-05-19 17:41:47Menu items are creative and we havent had a bad dish yet for either breakfast or lunch. Note that some dishes are spicy; if you dont want spicy, dont order spicy. Highly recommended if you are looking for something different. For lunch, the wife likes the steak salad, I like the curry. The waffle is good as are the croquets for breakfast. The book selection is fun as well, and have a fresh coconut, cold & refreshing break from the Pasadena heat. The service is friendly and the staff helpful. Oh, one last thing, the pistachio cheesecake is a great finish; not too sweet and good for sharing.

2014-12-31 19:45:20Came with a large group, (15 of us). We were given the private room which we had reserved, We had pre-ordered, service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive. Wine corkage was allowed and they did have a corkscrew. The cold dishes were served cold and the hot dishes hot. I especially like the seared tuna salad over soba noodles.For lunch it appeals to the working person as you walk up to the counter, order and pay. You get a number and they will find you with your food. Serve yourself water and utensils. No need to wait for a check at the end of the meal. Try the burger or the short ribs. They have a bit of everything and can do a one hour lunch. There is free parking (2 hours) behind the restaurant and a back entrance. good for a shoppers stroll on Lake Ave.

2017-04-09 21:25:16Where else can one get pho, burger, waffle, and crepe all in a comfortable artsy setting. The place needs a few more servers, it was at capacity on a Sunday afternoon with Only 3 servers to be seen. Will definitely come back, but probably when its less busy. Food was awesome.

2017-11-06 05:18:26Really disappointed with our service. We had a group of 5 and had our orders taken 45 minutes after we were seated. The food was good for the price, but our waitress never visited the table so I had to walk to the register to get refills. They also added the gratuity onto our check automatically and gave themselves an 18% tip, which I obviously would not have given if we had the choice to set our own tip. We also werent able to get a desert because the kitchen closed at 8:45, which if we had been served on time wouldnt have been an issue.
