Been here a few times now. When Im in town. The first time I got the Carne Asada fries. They were good. I remember seeing that they do it a little different. The quality was noticeably better than the average place.Today, I wanted to try the burrito. The garbage burrito was suggested. Dont be fooled by the name. It was tantalizing and had my mouth watering for more. Very fresh flavor and nicely blended ingredients.I might start coming here more often even though Im far away.
Really great fresh hot food. Very nice staff and very clean place. I got 2 ground beef hard shell tacos. Mmm, so good. The salsa is bomb. Perfection. So glad I stopped. Give it a try if your ever in the area. Youll be happy you did. The beans and rice are delicious 😋.
This is a very popular Mexican food restaurant in upper Yucaipa. Its next to the Fire Station on Bryant in the small business building next door. ( West from Stater Brothers store).Plan on spending a little time, for the food is fresh and lovingly prepared.I enjoy the Christian music played and clean interior, with some wonderful salsa as you come in and sit down.A single bathroom in the back is large enough for handicapped wheel chairs or a stroller for a Mom.Its a big win for me and my friends.
This review took place within two weeks of the opening, so some details may change over time. The location is not very visible, requiring some searching through the parking lot. Also, the space is not very big, holding about 50 people. The floors, counters, and tables were sparkling clean. Oddly, there is nothing preset on the tables: No salt & pepper, no napkins, no silverware. The wooden chairs are hard and I found them uncomfortable. The wait staff seemed a bit disorganized during my visit but, once responsibility for my table was established, the older female waitress was very attentive. The chips are home made and very good, not greasy. The salsa is tasty and not too spicy. I expressed my disappointment about not finding Chili Colorado on the menu and my waitress stated that other diners had asked for it to be added. She suggested the shredded beef burrito, so I ordered it. I added rice, beans, and red sauce as a package, which I found a little pricey at $4.50 additional. The burrito was ample, well-seasoned, and nice & warm. The beans were a little too runny for my palette. The rice was perfect. Although the beverage station is self-serve, my waitress delivered and refilled my Fanta Orange. Overall, this new (at time of writing) restaurant is a nice addition to the neighborhood. I recommend it.

OMG best chips! We had shrimp tacos, Chile verde, and shredded beef enchiladas…everything was on point! Great, friendly service. Food was phenomenal. Would posts pics, but there’s nothing left😬

Virginia, Fernando and all the other staff are great. The food is far superior than Jose’s and other Mexican Resturaunt in Redlands or Yucaipa. My wife and I love the place, great food great people!

This little Mexican food restaurant is INCREDIBLE! Whenever I have the chance, or whenever Im talking about my favorite places to eat, I always mention Acocotli. Seriously the best food and service in town, its not expensive, and you get a really great atmosphere and service from the owners, music, and aesthetics. I wouldnt call myself a regular of any other food place besides here. Me and my fiancee love it here a lot, and we tend to go out of our way to eat here every once in a while. If you havent tried it, give it a shot! Their chicken fajitas are really good and so is their rice, enchiladas, tacos, and burritos. Love this little family owned restaurant (those are usually the best anyhow)!
I have Celiac’s disease, which means I can’t eat gluten. We explained our situation to the guy at the counter, Fernando, and he was very understanding, supportive, and listened hard-core. They accommodated our needs, and the food was BOMB! The chef even saved us for eating pre-shredded cheese that contained flour.These guys are awesome, and I completely recommend it!
Super cute, clean, open space. I really like the garbage burrito. Its a sit down type of quick food place. They bring chips and salsa (spicy on request). My boyfriend got the super nacho and was very happy with them. The employees are very nice. They check on you regularly and are SO helpful.

You always see a smile on Virginia, Fernando, the cooks, young Virginia and Lilly. No waiting, whether its take out, or on site dining! You always feel welcome here! New favorite Mexican food? Possibly... They do some good stuff here. We had a wet burrito and multiple tacos. All were delicious. Their format is oriented towards to go service, so even if you order to eat in, its packed in a to-go container with plastic disposable cutlery. Not a big deal, just be aware of it. Complimentary chips and salsa with orders is perfect as I hate it when Mexican restaurants dont throw that in. Its not a rule or anything, but it sure is nice! Closed on Tuesdays, so no taco Tuesday here! Pro tip: Order a burrito with the supreme upgrade and you get a wet burrito but also a side of rice and beans. Easy to split amongst two people, maybe with an extra taco or so.
The food and service is the BEST!!! We drive from perris lake area to get dinner from Acocotli and its worth the trip. Pretty much everything we have tried on their menu has been delicious!!! Highly recommend this restaurant if you havent tried it yet!!!

Absolutely love this place I arrived ordered Albondigas soup guacamole salsa and chips Best in town 😋 customer service is great the restaurant is clean the staff are warm and welcoming if you come around dinner time expect to wait for there are long lines and people waiting for their orders as this alone should tell you the food is worth the wait!! The location is across the street from stators on Bryant next to Rite aid! Authentic delicious and close to home if your a Yucaipa resident! Family runs this place come support them you won’t regret it!
UpdateThe food is not consistent. We tried the tacos for the second time. It was not crispy. It was not tasty. What happened? I asked. They said thats bthe way they make it. Soggy and stale tortilla on the taco? We are not having those tacos anymore.We had shredded beef crispy tacos. They were really good and tasty we also tried the cheese enchiladas. It was good but the sauce was too concentrated. Its not the worst but its not the best. LA Paloma in Claremont is the best. The rice and beans were surprisingly good enough.We plan on returning to try the other dishes. They served chips in a bag with salsa in a container. They had no plates. We liked the ice machine. They have coke products and we like Pepsi.

Good but not great. Service was good and prices are ok. Its worth trying out. The salsa was excellent but the guac was a let down and frankly over priced for the quantity. I prefer spicier Mexican food or at least a fusion of flavors. And well this is just run of the mill but that could just be preference. Ill probably try them again sometime and eat there as sometimes getting carryout really kills the flavor.

If you are in the area and looking for a great sit down (or takeout) look no further, Acocotli is the place! There are other places in Yucaipa to grab a quick burrito, but they dont match the quality of Acocotli.The combination plates are all excellent. The fajitas are one of my favorites, and the portion sizes are very generous. Dining in will also get you free chips and salsa, and they arent cheap from a bag chips they are fresh like they should be.The X factor for Acocotli is their hot salsa. They may not give it to you automatically since it is on the spicy side for most people, but it is some of my favorite restaurant salsa I have ever tried. Smokey, and hot, but with good flavor.Service is awesome here at all, and you can tell this small family owned business really appreciates all of its customers.10/10

I am visiting my hometown from out of state where Ive been a bit deprived of good Mexican food. I have my usual favorite spots but this has taken the number one spot. Everything weve tried has been so good! And the gentleman in the front was fantastic and had great customer service. Definitely making the trip whenever Im in town!
Really good quality and hot food! Tastes great! I got street tacos, machaca, and hard shell. I’ve tasted basically every machaca burrito from San Bernardino to San Diego, and this one is very good. I will say driving up it looked closed because the windows dark, but the open sign was on and they were open of course. Glad they were! Thanks Acocotli
I eat here almost every week the food is always hot, consistent and delicious. The staff is polite and prompt when ordering to go. The street tacos are a great price and make for a quick snack and the regular tacos are better than any other surrounding mexican restaurant in town. My goto meals are either the steak fajitas or the shredded beef burrito with green sauce.

Food was just ok, salsa was good, have had better carne asada elsewhere. Had to ask for silverware as you get plasticware to cut carne asada?If I needed something I had to ask the girl working the cash register. Just didnt feel like I was at a restaurant. Looks like people mostly do pick up. Prices were ok and the girl at the register was friendly. Probably would not go back, there are other places closer to home.
Went here on the recommendation from a friend. The food was amazing. We got a little of everything so we could sample a variety of flavors. Everything was delicious. Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Yucaipa! Generous sized servings, and super friendly staff. My kids love the BRC Burritos, my favorite is the chicken fajitas. They also offer to go/pickup.
This place by far has the best Mexican food in town, if not the county. They have the best dang nachos you ever had but the real treat is the 99 cent street tacos. Great cheap way to feed lots of people. Also, staff are so kind and so on point with quick and consistent service every time. I love this place and my whole family is so glad COVID-19 didnt stop them!

I love supporting local businesses, and we will continue to support this restaurant !! There were lots of menu choices, which made it difficult to pick one. We ordered the two enchilada plate, and the taco salad, which were both delicious and certainly had just been put in the containers, since they were quite hot. We did the pick-up/takeout option, and the food was brought out to us right when we got there. The staff were friendly and courteous, and made us feel welcomed.
Great place to eat! Food is fantastic. Even my three kids age 5, 8 & 12 will eat there. Tacos & Super nachos are great. Good flavor in shredded beef. Portions seem good for the price. Nothing is a dollar anymore, unless you go to Del Taco dollar menu.
Holy they are super busy.... I think we have all been waiting for a long time for Acocotli to open. Looks like whenever you come weather you take out or sit down or phone in itll be a little bit of a wait. However, its well worth it!Super nice staff and food comes out pretty quick considering how many people are here trying to taste the food. Its clean and the food is a good price for the portion. The menu is simple but has all the necessities from a mexican food restaurant. If you dine in, they give chips and salsa. Which is a plus and gives you something to nibble on while you wait for the food to come out. They take card or cash. No outside sitting but if they want they have some space to put a few table and chairs at some point.I cant wait to come back and try more menu items.
I get the enchilada plate and tacos every time. Their tacos are super flavorful and their enchilada plate is tasty as well. It takes only fifteen minutes from ordering to picking up my food and everything is always fresh and hot. They give me enough salsa as well if you know you know.

Another tasty meal at Acocotlis, we took friends last night and everyone enjoyed their food. We had tacos, burritos and the dinner plates and all very very good. The meals are always hot and no long waits, even when ordering take out. It was a nice evening to sit outside and savor my Ranchero burrito. The family that runs the restaurant is very friendly, always makes you feel comfortable and very thankful for your business. We are working to try something new each week!

Friendly staff, authentic salsa although a bit too spicy, fresh chips, fluffy rice, delicious guacamole, fresh salad, good tasting: enchiladas/taquitos/quesadillas/burrito/tacos. Yes we were a bunch and everyone happy including my Mexican husband. We will be back!

This place has amazing shrimp and fish tacos the dressing that comes with these tacos is more than amazing it also goes great with the two roll taquitos that they offer and they are very reasonable in price at least for me I greatly recommend this place even if its just to order out when youre looking for a fish taco or shrimp tacos or taquitos have not tried their other dishes but Im sure theyre amazing too Im a seafood person so thats why I love their shrimp and fish tacos

Their service was primo and friendly. My buddy was right as this is now my go to for tacos !!!Went here for a taco on “Taco Tuesday” and I was totally disappointed that they are not open on Tuesday’sMade the drive up here for nothin and had to go to another place. Why closed on “Taco Tuesday”. I am going to only give a least 3 Stars because a buddy of mine says this place is GREAT ! Till I come here on another day other then “Taco Tuesday” I will change my review.
Just ate myself into a food coma.... This is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant! I had the Tostada Ole with Chile Verde. David had the Garbage Burrito plate with green sauce. Chips & salsa were so good! They have outdoor seating, but we phoned in our order & took it home. Staff is very friendly too.

Food is not bad... However, portions are small, prices a bit high and do not match amount of food you receive and they hide their small portions on small plates and service is very slow. So I refuse to give them a higher rating based on flavor of food as Yucaipa has some 10 plus Mexican restaurants that have better food with same prices and larger portions.. I have one that my family and i have been going to for 20 yrs here in Yucaipa that out does Acocotli in every category. I wanted to try a new place and as usual... Greatly Disappointed...
LOVE LOVE LOVE!For me as a picky eater i found their food amazing. The staff were very attentive and took care of each costumer. The only downside is the wait time for food. But everything is so good.

We tried to place a phone order during business hours and checked online to make sure your new business was open. While we understand it may not be business as usual lately, it would be a good idea to leave a message for callers instead of busying out your phones. When you do this, it makes patrons think you may be open, but just busy. However, it seems you are closed? Bad practice for a new business.

Even though this is my first time writing a review for Acocolti, I have patronized a few times. Every time I visit, I like to try a different dish, and I can tell you I have never been disappointed. This visit, I tried the quesadilla with meat and it was absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to try something new on my next visit.The only con is, the distance from my home, I wish it we closer.

2023-09-25 02:24:27I came in and ordered a bean rice and cheese to go. Well, I got home and started eating my burrito to find only rice and cheese. Which sucks because I feel like beans are kinda the most important part of a BEAN rice and cheese burrito. I think they ran out of beans and just tried to pass off the rice and cheese thinking maybe I wouldnt notice? I wish they would have just informed me they were out of beans so I could have just gotten a refund or ordered something else.Pretty shady business practice. Definitely dont recommend this place.

As usual I tried their Chile Verde Burrito I always try the Chile Verde Burrito at any Mexican Restaurant that offers them, and I wasn’t disappointed! It was so delicious and flavorful. We also had the Machaca Burrito which was also very tasty and flavorful. Need an good ole authentic Mexican dining experience try Acocotli Mexican Restaurant in Yucaipa.

2023-08-14 14:50:041st time there, excellent food, music is low (which we can hear each other when we talk/some restaurants are too loud), service is good, but the only thing they need is RESTAURANT PLATES/REGULAR PLATES not to serve us in a to go plate.Salsa with chips were delicious, but I need my chips in a plate not in a bag (specially if i eat there).

2023-07-15 18:16:35We ate there yesterday and was quite a surprise! Everything was delicious, even the beans which I normally don’t care for. Best ever Albondigas soup!! We live in Apple Valley and will definitely make that trip again ❤️. Not that far from Big Bear.
