The food was amazing! Jose was a great employee making sure our experience was up to par! We felt very welcome and treated like family. The dining are felt very welcoming. We will be coming back!

Brought my 10 year old for lunch. She LOVED it. She been asking to go back since our last visit. She had Avocado toast (according to her, the best shes ever had) I had the Teriyaki Bowl with Salmon. The food is always delicious, healthy and filling. Their coffee drinks are delicious as well. The inside of the Cafe is trendy and very pretty. Nice laid back vibes. Service is great and staff is very attentive. A must try place.

This is a hidden gem. The outside looks like a normal small coffee place but when you enter the design and food are a very nice surprise!! Everything is delicious and is very bougie! 🤩🤗

Randomly stumbled across this place. Since I’m a huge chai latte fan, I decided to give theirs a try…and let me just tell you, it was delicious!! Just the right about if sweetness and creaminess. To my pleasant surprise they had an additional, rather large, lounge area with plenty of comfortable seating. Loved the vibe and will definitely come back again when I’m in the area.

Food is very good, I had the salmon bowl. Took a while, but it was worth the way. They place is clean and prices are reasonable. The servers were friendly, but one menus star for the unfriendly cashier taking our order.Susie, in customer service a smile goes a long way, throwing matcha latte aggressively in the sink and splashing it all over, doesn’t get you any further than you already are. I love the place, but you lost a customer. If I see Susie at the register, I’m running away. Her demeanor was horrible. Like it was a bother to help customers. Aka, job you get paid to do.

Order salmon bowl through the phone said that we were going to take 15 minutes which was fine. Got there. Paid for the food order a frap by the time I was already late 10 minutes in. I still waiting another 20 minutes for my food. By the time I got to the car the frapp was super flat and it looked like it was just water and whatever they put on it

Just had an absolute great experience/ breakfast here at Agave! Hit the spot!Great service, food was excellent/delcioso, very clean atmosphere, quick timing and plenty of options to choose from. Very good burritos! & coffee! the potatoes could’ve been better but they were still pretty good. i love the ambiance and the room they have tucked in the back. staff are really friendly. parking is close if you park in the garage behind the building but it is still a little hard to find. prices are kinda high but worth it. definitely planning on going back :)

Really nice place and nice vibes but more importantly the food was well seasoned. I ordered the soy chorizo burrito ((side of house potatoes...so good)$.12.55) and I had 2 cocktails.1. The Ring of Fire - $13.50 really refreshing and slightly spicy at least to me. Only complaint would be I would have liked it a little bit stronger 💪 😉2. Tamarin Sunrise - $10.75 super good. Ive lived in Chula vista my entire life! This is the first establishment i have found that is absolutely delicious, healthy, organic and just over the top amazing. The food is always fresh, local, organic, grassfed etc and fantastic!! Love the organic coffee and overall the variety of teas, coffees, non coffee items, its all so goooood. The breakfast and brunch is absolutely delish!!! From the chilaquiles to the pancakes and eggs and omg the applewood bacoooooon...my favorite. The grassfed burgers and sweet potato fries though!!! Im getting hungry now but you get the point. Head over and grab some amazing food, enjoy the decor, the fruit infused chilled water and the lovely staff!

Good location and free undercover parking. Acai bowl was okay, granola was surprisingly fresh and not stale like some. The acai itself tasted like it was frozen - not freshly made. The matcha latte was awful - tasted extremely grainy. Not worth $7 at all. The lounge area is nice and spacious. Not ideal for long work days due to lack of outlets. Service was friendly and quick.

Servers totally oblivious to customer needs -- I ordered coffee in the morning, pay, then after they tell me I have to wait 5-10 minutes for it to brew. I tell them I cant wait and will take an americano instead. They say okay... then forget to make it. 10 minutes later Im really running late -- the only good thing I can say is that the coffee was decent.

My wife and I visited the bank that is next door to Agave Coffee and Cafe and decided to give it a try for the first time. I ordered their biggest iced tea that they had to offer for which I was charged $3.53. When they gave it to me the cup looked small when compared to other competitors similar large iced tea offerings. I asked the waitress if it was really the largest cup and she confirmed it. The size of the cup according to their menu is 20 ounces. One thing that irritated me was not the small cup vs price ratio but the fact that they filled it with around 50% ice and the rest was the actual tea. It felt like I finished it soon after I started drinking it. Later that same day I visited one of Agaves competitors and ordered a large iced tea. The size of their cup was 30 ounces and the ice vs tea ratio was around 10% ice and 90% tea. The cup was huge and I was only charged $3.45 for it. I was charged 8 cents less than agave on a larger cup with less ice and a ton more tea. Better value in my mind. I must be fair and say that I cannot form an opinion on Agave in general just on a one time visit but for now that is my first impression and it was not good. In my mind value is almost as important as service and the quality of the product. Hopefully on my second try ordering different food items (not ordering tea anymore) my review of Agave improves.

This was my first visit and it wont be my last. The decor and environment is welcoming and quaint. I ordered the farmers skillet. It had ham, pulled pork, bacon, scallions, bell pepper, avocado, cheddar cheese, and cubed potatoes. The portions for this dish is just right. You wont feel sluggish or heavy when youre done, but you also will feel satisfied. I do i have some critiques or suggestions for improvements. The air conditioning should be monitored. It was cold inside, especially on a day that rain is expected. Also the orange juice(not pictured), was over priced and not presented well. Although I may not understand the costs of fresh orange juice, $6 per cup is too much. I will be back to try more dishes and drinks. Thank you Katya! She was friendly and made sure my meal was pleasant and was a great experience. The crew seems like they are trained well. Eat well!!

I love the food here. Everything is fresh and healthy. My favorites are the Baja Ceasar wrap and the Baja salad. Their Agave hot chocolate is also a great pick me up in the afternoons. I like introducing my coworkers to this restaurant. Definitely will be back again.

This place used to be cool. I was a customer over the years.Now the prices are way too jacked up for what you’re getting, it’s not a coffee roastery or anything that special. Also the eco plant straws are extremely brittle and break easily if bent whatsoever, becoming nonfunctional and cracked.

I went here as a hungry patient fresh out of a 3-hour stay at the urgent care upstairs. I didnt think much of it, only that Agave was the only restaurant near enough from the clinic to walk to without pain.Upon entering, I found the atmosphere of the cafe to be pleasing and cozy, yet modern. I thought there was only an ordering station with a few seats and high chairs till I looked and saw the entryway hiding away a bigger, chic-looking lounge, where I stayed and ate at one of their generously spacious and comfortable booths.I ordered a hot white mocha which to my pleasant surprise arrived in a cozy mug, delicious and comforting. Next was the chicken pesto sandwich, tasty and healthy yet satisfying. Im glad it didnt take long for my food to arrive. And as I chomped down my lunch I felt quite fulfilled and at ease, the atmosphere conducive for relaxing and pensive thought. A group of gals chatted excitedly in the corner, while others huddled in corners hunched over laptops. I sipped, enjoying every drop down to the last few of the white mocha and thought, life is good.Agave may have been the only restaurant I could walk to in sight, but for the sheer satisfaction I felt after those 3 hungry hours waiting at the urgent care, Im sure glad it was my only choice.

I love the berry tea 🍓 Ive been here twice & both times were great! I want to try something new on the menu everytime I have a chance to stop by. First time here, came because of the menu and photos. Saw they had a croque monsieur and totally craved it, but it turned out to be just a ham and swiss sandwich. Had asked for a fried egg on top to make it a croque madame, and it arrived totally cooked. Not bad, per se, but just mediocre. My wife got her food way before mine & was almost done when mine arrived. Red & green salsas were ok. I had a veggie omelet that was just ok too, not much flavor. Worst wheat toast Ive had; it tasted like toasted white bread (get some multi grain or a better wheat bread). As I said good place for coffee & other drinks but the food left a lot to be desired. Sad to watch this place fail over and over. Very inconsistent and most of the time they dont have stock to make the items on the menu. Today was my last attempt to support our local restaurant. They have one vegan item and when I called they said we dont have chips. Vegan Chilaquiles. Today is my wifes 40th birthday and this is what she wanted. Now I have to find another vegan option for a milestone birthday at the last minute because you dont know how to prepare for service. Not the first time youve failed us with incompetence, but its the last.

Food was average, no free refills. We have to sit ourselves and order at the counter. The chilaqueles supreme are good but the French toast is dry, looks home made and the syrup is not sweet. But worse is the soup was scorching hot and burned my tongue because I had 10 min of lunch left. It was to go. No refund (because they did charge me for the meal that they never gave me), no one called me back.So here is my review. Bad customer service. Mistakes are made, I understand. My coworkers and I come here all the time. I thought it was pricey but convenient. As of today Ill never come back not because of the price gauging since theyre prices went up but the website hasnt changed but because of the bad customer service from the manager. We were there for a Sunday brunch. The place was not fully occupied unlike other places at that hour. WE were told to sit anywhere (and we were a party of 5). I have had great experiences here. Second time I went there the espresso drink was awful(food excellent) and I left the drink. Came back a few days later and they recognized me and apologized. Brandi made me a very very dry cappuccino and it was excellent. I have been back numerous times since and everything has been fantastic. Very friendly staff. Nice setting for a sit-down breakfast and they’ll bring the food and drinks to your table. Complimentary champagne to moms on this Mothers Day weekend. I recommend the Agave Mocha coffee. Plates had generous portions and tasted very good — I thoroughly enjoyed my quesadilla platter, served with fresh avocado and sour cream. Parking is in a convenient garage and it is located in a recently constructed/remodeled building.

My rating of Agave went from a 5 star to a 2 star in a day. My last experience was pre-covid. First, it is not easy to get to this restaurant. You have to park on the street a block or two away, or park in a large parking garage and find your way through many other businesses to reach the front door. I had such a good experience last Fall that I was willing to go to the effort. However, today was different. When I got to the restaurant, i stood in the now routine spaced line. I could not find ANY sign of a food menu. There was phone contact access to the menu but I had not brought my phone. I looked everywhere for a menu and none to be found, so waited in line while others there gave orders. It took so very long to serve one or two people that I eventually lost interest and left. If there had been just ONE menu taped to the inside of a display case that I could have read, that would have been enough, but NONE anywhere in sight, and for all I knew, there might have been nothing interesting left on the menu. Not worth the effort. Wake up owners! Don’t lose your business and blame it on covid. You must do everything you can to make this work.

There wasnt any place for us to stand and wait for our drinks so we could leave. We were standing arou d a table waiting and were asked repeatedly to move for paying customers that were going to eat. Our drinks were not ready and there was no place to stand and wait. We repeatedly told them we would be leaving after we got our drinks. Counter service was good, service/ wait staff were not. Layout of the business not user friendly. We had to go to Starbucks because our order wasnt correct and didnt even have a jacket for the very hot tea! Wont be back in the future.

Impeccable, Outstanding Service! Aside from the great food the service we received was wonderful! The manager came to our table like 5 times to make sure we were happy. Ive never seen anyone work soo hard. She stayed busy. Busing tables, bringing food and talking to guests. She never stopped. Shes well trained and perfectly fits in her job. Shes a complete asset to Agave. Shes deserves to be employee of the month. Ive never been so cared for at a restaurant before! Im simply amazed. I think her name was Katya, but Im not sure. This cafe will be confusing to first-timers....the setup is like a Starbucks, theres overhead menus and an ordering counter with display cases of food. But theres also an un-manned host station upon entering that states to wait to be seated. I dont really like these type of places, its setup as a counter serve place, where you order at the counter for to-go, but it turns into a wait staff restaurant if you want to eat-in.Theres a good selection of food items, but most are a little overpriced. Theres also many drink options...the orange juice being a higher priced item. I decided on the bacon and egg sandwich...which has eggs, bacon, cheese on choice of bread. I choose the low quality sourdough bread to complement the overall blandness of this item. It comes with a side of potatoes, which I will say are seasoned well with rosemary and other spices. My order was forgotten then prepared in probably at least 15 minutes, and was not worth the wait.

Great place to have coffee and breakfast in Chula Vista, It was very nice to find bold presentations and original combinations on some of the traditional breakfast choices, I really liked the Chile Verde Benedicts the combination of the pull pork salsa verde and hollandise was just great. There area some other eye catching items on the menu like the Vegan Chilakiles that Im planing to try on my next visit. The rice was bland and over cooked, the black beans that accompanied the chilaquiles my boyfriend couldn’t eat them they were so bland, just black beans in their broth. I had the half sandwich and “black bean chili.” The “chili” was the same black beans in their broth dressed with a dollop of sour cream, chives and sprinkle of cheese, which did nothing to add flavor. Service was ok but the wait time was about 25 + minutes and the server kept assuring me (about 3 or 4 times) that my plate was coming. We did appreciate that complimentary biscuits that were offered at the start of our meal but would have rather preferred to be offered something else with my sandwich after I asked the server if the black bean dish I received was in fact their “chili.” He said it was because of the dollop of sour cream, the bit of chives and sprinkling of cheese.
