The staff is polite and friendly. We just waited about 15 minutes and the food started to be served. The California roll here is the best I have ever tried.

5 stars across the board. 1st time here. I came here because my families go to chicken place on the corner of Pacific & Clarendon in Huntington Park was closed at 6 when Google said 7. Boy am I glad they were closed! My husband wanted Beef teriyaki for dinner. I am glad I stopped in to check it out on a random Wednesday evening.I ordered a Beef and a chicken bowl . I guarantee that this is no bowl. It is an entire container. I could barely finish half of the container and I am absolutely stuffed. I have lunch and maybe dinner for tomorrow. I also ordered a crispy sushi roll with crab tempura shrimp and avocado and a basic California roll. The rolls were delish filled with fresh ingredients. The prices are very reasonable for what they serve. If my Husband (big eater) is not eating 1 bowl can feed 2 maybe 3 people. The inside is very nice and calming and the Gentleman taking the orders (at around 6:30pm) was very kind and informative. We will definitely return when we are in the mood for teriyaki and to try the other dishes that are offered.

Ive been here twice and the staff is always friendly! The food is delicious!! The only thing that prevents me from giving 5 stars, is because they dont have refills on drinks. It would be nice if atleast there was refills for water. Atleast

My sister and I come about twice a week and we are never disappointed. The food is delicious and fresh, the staff is always friendly and very welcoming. Service might be a bit slow during rush hour, but the wait is definitely worth it.

My girlfriend found this place and we decided to try, she had the rainbow roll and I had tonkotsu ramen,at first I was no sure if the noodles were going to be pack ones, but surprisingly was more than I was expecting .thank u . the guys are very friendly and helpful

I was looking for something good to eat i knew about the previous place so when I was passing by i seen it was a new owner and said let me stop by and try this place out and Im happy to say Im glad I stop everything I have tasted so far is very fresh and delicious i told 1 one my daughters about because her and my grandson loves sushi they went and have been going ever since!!!! Its NUMBER 1 ON MY LIST OF FAVORITE SUSHI PLACES!!!! I GIVE IT 10 STARS!!!! I almost forgot great service every time🙌🙌🙌

Absolutely amazing food and customer service! Everyone is super kind and theyre extremely understanding when it comes to customizing an order. Its super easy to get the teriyaki bowl with no veggies or specific ones taken out. (remember to be kind to the staff! Especially when asking for customizations.) Overall, a great experience. You definitely get your moneys worth with each plate.

I wanna start of by saying what a great service was given the cashier was nice and recommended dishes and would ask if anything else was needed throughout the meal so big props and great work on him. then the time wait for the dishes were on point and fresh the looks of the ramens and taste are very outstanding quality you can taste then the sushi row’s texture very vibrant and good over all a Local H.P that’s recommended and will definitely will be back too a place you must try 👍🏽 blessings

Taste was amazing! Portion was GREAT. I will definitely come again for the Dinosaur and Double Crunch rolls. Their sauces were so flavorful. I recommend stopping by for Dine in and Take out!

I had a tonkatsu ramen with tuna rolls and I shared a dinosaur roll with my wife. Everything was really tasty and filling. The meat in the ramen was soft and fell apart easily. The would have been better is it was a soft boiled shoyu egg rather than just a hard boiled egg. Not enough to mark down a star. Prices were reasonable and we left full. Service was perfect.

Friendly staff and great food. We had the ramen (Tonkotsu mild and spicy) the broth is very flavourful. Our kids enjoyed everything despite being picky. Clean atmosphere and great service.

This place is HEAVEN! They were really accommodating when I was pregnant and made sure everything was throughly cooked before given to me. They give amazing customer service and whenever the owner can, he will personally give you your order and thank you 🥹! Everything in their menu is 100/10 🤤 My family and I always get sushi and soup from here minimum once a week lol. Totally recommend this place 100%!

First time here and so far I can say that it met my expectations. We all have our own judgement for food and I personally liked the flavor of the Tonkotsu Ramen and the famous California Rolls. Meal portion is a good size for me I cant complain. The cashier is super friendly and very attentive excellent customer service, hes always asking if you need something else with your meal like condiments or utensils. Great job kid!!

First time here. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. The place is noticeably clean, and the service is prompt. Welcoming atmosphere. I recommend the Tuna Teriyaki and Ramen. Medium is the best choice if you want a great enjoyable kick to your food.

Some of the best, tastiest, freshest Asian food Ive had in a long time. I ordered the spicy chicken (which was more sweet than spicy, but thats great for me), beef fried rice, sweet & sour pork, California rolls and bottles of Mexican Coca-Cola for us. Each dish was incredibly flavorful, the portions were huge, and the sweet & sour came with a bowl of FRESH ponzu sauce. I was blown away with the quality of this place. The environment was also clean, of modern styling, and well-arranged to fit the fairly small space. I would not have ordered all that food if I knew the portion sizes in advance, because the party was so full that we had to take home to-go boxes. The owner was very professional, prompt, and served with a smile. I flew nearly 2,000 miles to help a friend move and picked this place out of a list of 12 possible, highly-rated Asian restaurants before I left LA. DO NOT PASS UP THIS PLACE! AKAI is an awesome local spot. I will have to come back someday and for that Tonkotsu ramen and gyoza.

I have been working in Huntington Park for 10 months now and had not found any restaurants with good sushi. My coworker and I went to Akai today and Im so glad we did. I got the Akai Roll and it was delicious! Will definitely be coming back.

All I can say is, only Akai can bring this kind flavor and dining experience in Huntington Park area. Food portion is more than generous, and rolls are huge! Highly recommend as their jjajangmyeon and jjampong noodle is homemade every morning and better than most korean fusion places in LA.
