2023-10-06 11:11:28This is the quintessential family run restaurant and you can tell. Service is friendly and personable. The food may take a hot minute but it tastes amazing and theres a warm cozy atmosphere every time.My in-laws have been coming here since their first date and I hope to do the same.

2023-10-11 15:05:33Came here twice whilst staying in LA for a few days. The food is excellent. Family Run restaurant. We didnt book and managed to sneak a table but would reccomend booking. The Gyozas and Sushi were brilliant. 100% would go again when back in LA.

2022-03-26 18:11:30An old-fashioned restaurant offering a wide variety of Japanese food. The ambience and the service are both warm. Good portion for the price/location, and the dinner set with tempura is totally worth it! Street/ meter parking. Chirashi & sukiyaki see attached:

2021-09-05 16:42:03The service was excellent! One of their waiters, Scott, was very helpful explaining the menu items for me and the food (sushi, beef teriyaki), tea, and ice cream were very delicious!! Welcoming atmosphere as well!

2023-08-26 19:21:32Place is a dump. Weve reserved a table for a dinner, however when we arrived we were simply ignored. We were waiting at the entrance for a while, then I walked through the rooms to get attention of the staff. Waitresses were passing by and ignoring us. So we left. Also, place smelled quite nasty inside, and kitchen didnt look clean at all

2019-07-31 17:50:17There is a good reason why this place has been around since 1974 and maintains a high rating. An entire family is running this place. Sushi was freshly made, home style. Sashimi melts in mouth. Ginger was homemade thick, which I prefer. The tempuras were done just right, crunch on the outside and not too greasy. Sukiyaki was not overwhelmingly sweet. Chicken katsu was delicious. Spicy tuna, avocado, and caterpillar rolls were excellent, nothing fancy but tasty. Rice and soup were very well prepared, which made a huge difference for the entire meal. Its just like the Japanese restaurant meals I had when I was a little kid. Its such a pleasure to find a hidden gem, without all the bells and whistles yet rob me blind. Thanks being around still, and please keep going! Bansai Aki San!

2017-05-29 01:55:29Very friendly, family owned restaurant. The fish quality for the most part is very fine, and I was pleasantly impressed. Wasnt a big fan of some of the tuna but everything else was perfectly fine.
