My friend and I recently dined at this halal restaurant on our way back to the Bay Area and were thoroughly impressed. This place was really amazing. Their gyro taste amazing, and fries were crispy to the perfect point. Falafel was delicious, and hummus was as well. I never really liked hummus but this place made me enjoy it. Many drink options, and the owner was so nice!! Customer service is lovely, quick, and easy. Grape leaves were great, and this kabob was also delicious, there’s so many good things i could say about this place. The serving sizes are just right, been looking for a good place with good food. Really recommend as there are many other options then the ones I chose. Variety of good food surprised me. Would highly recommend and will be coming here again.

My family loves eating here. Whether its take out or dine in, the service is always excellent. They are so friendly and warm. Weve ordered the kebobs, shawarmas, falafels, gyros and even fish. Weve had catering from them and it tastes as good as the individual meals. Everything Ive ordered from them tastes delicious. If you havent tried their food, its worth a trip. Your tummy will thank you.

Googled and located on a whim and prayer.. orig heading for a Zenkou meal and then decided against the 405 traffic heading north Artesia blvd. OMG what a find! fragrant soft delicious rice cooked to perfection as waa thier kabobs kofta chicken and fish. The lentil soup was perfect. only dissapointment was the v thin pita bread. two of is spent over $100 - no tea of coffee . I was given a gift card to Al Hamra Kabob by a coworker for Christmas. We went last night. WOW! This is the best Halal Mediterranean food I have ever had. No joke. I love Halal food and have ate countless other Halal restaurants. Al Hamra stands out. The flavors in all the foods were amazing. We started with meat pies and baba ganoush. OMG! The meat pies were great and the baba ganoush was the best I have ever tasted!! The meals came shortly after and both of our kebab combo plates were amazing. The meats were so tender and flavored perfectly.The restaurant employees were very accommodating and super polite. The place was really clean too. This was a great dinner experience! If you love Halal food you absolutely have to come to this restaurant and try everything. I will be back soon for sure!

I am a continuous supporter of small restaurants before, during and present of the pandemic. As many close friends know, when I try a new restaurant, I don’t just order one or two items. In fact, I try to order as much variety as possible.At Redondo Beach’s Al Hamra Halal Café, I order a total of $61.51 including four types of kebab meats, eight different mezze appetizers, and two desserts. What I received and tasted was pure disappointment for all items!!!For appetizers, the kibbeh dough was extremely thick and mushy with very little meat and pine nuts inside. Also, there was only one kibbeh versus two of everything in the mezze platter! The meat filling in the samosa were a bit dry. The two falafel would turn vegetarians into carnivores – extremely dry and bland. Hummus, fries, and tabouli can use a heavy dose of seasoning. The only decent item was the yogurt cucumber salad.The kebabs – chicken, kofta, lamb and beef as well as the chicken shawarma wrap were extremely overcooked to the level of jerky and also lacked seasoning. The final two items that were good are the desserts that were probably not make in-house but brought in – namoura cake (basbousa) also known as a syrup-soaked semolina cake and the kunafa (knafeh), a sweet rather savory version with clotted cream, a hint of sugared rose water, with crushed pistachio and spun kataifi (shredded phyllo).In all honestly, if the owner and chef has no interest in making good food and representing Middle Eastern culture in a positive fashion, they should excuse themselves from the restaurant business.

We are regulars at Al Hamra as they consistently prepare great food and give warm service. My kids and me love the beef kabob plate and pitas. My husband is a fan of the Kofta plate. I love the freshness of their taboulli, fatoosh salad and hummous. On rare occasions I have room to spare from my feast, I take joy in their baklava. Nom nom. It’s a must stop in the South Bay!

I have been going here since 2014 and this is my go to place to get some great Mediterranean food when I visit LA. I would highly recommend their Chicken Tikka Masala. If there was only one food that I was allowed to eat for the rest of my life, it would be the Chicken Tikka Masala from Al Hamra.

The side salad, which we paid extra for, was nothing more than a small handful of lettuce with two olives complete with pits! I am guessing new management because this place used to be good. I saw this place and decided to try it today for the first time. When I picked up my food there two ladies sitting down. Older lady was behind the counter head down on the phone. I said hello twice before she raised her head. No smile. I picked up my food and asked about another item on the menu, No enthusiasm at all. When I tried the food quality was not the best. White rice was not hot or even warm. It was lukewarm, hard and clumped together. The chicken shermewa was dry. The only thing that was good was the gyro. somewhat disappointing after looking at the appetizing pictures and videos on google of the food served here.

Clean, very friendly customer Service, a BIG menu for such a small place, Halal posted everywhere, plates, sandwiches ( really Wraps using the fluffy naan bread), lots of beverage options too!! We found this place on Google maps while travelling through the town, glad we stopped, was after 9 pm and had quite a few people there. In a small strip mall . Very pleased, and will definitely try it again when coming through town on 405 fwy. --Easy on and off just few blocks. If you do Halal you gotta try this, if you dont, you oughtta! Not overly salted as we seem to always experience with similar menus. We had the Beef Sharma Wrap, just the right size for a light dinner, but you could order a combo or plate. **Dont miss this place!!

Best mediterranean Ive had in a LONG time. I ordered the gyro wrap with fries combo for $12. The freshness and amount of food was so worth it. This was some of the best gyro meat Ive had in LA—tender, not dry, and perfectly flavored/salted. Ive also been to shops who use stale, factory-made pita bread. This bread was warm and soft and the tomatoes and onions tasted fresh. Overall highly recommend!PS - The place next door also sells mediterranean, but I would recommend this place a million times over.

By far the best Mediterranean food! As a foodie dedicated to clean eating, Al Hamra is one of the few restaurants I frequent. Why? They only serve fresh meats and vegetables perfectly seasoned in generous portions and the quality is consistent. I’ve also used them for parties & the platters and large portions of food meet the same high standards and taste as their individual meals. I used to eat at Al Hamra in Annandale VA all the time! After moving out to California I was sad to be leaving my favorite halal restaurant behind. I recently went back home to Virginia and was saddened to see that the Annandale location had closed! I went on the website and it turns out that there is ONE more location and it’s HERE in Redondo! I was very disappointed by the quality of the hummus, it was watered down simply put, almost tasteless. The chicken kabobs were great though, well portioned. We got chicken samosas too, but couldnt find any chicken in them at all. Falafel was good, but the sauce that came with it could of been better. This place was much better a few years ago. Not sure if it changed ownership but the quality has gone down some. I give this places 3/5.

Ive been looking for a good middle eastern restaurant in the South Bay, since Im down that way about once a week. Luckily, I found this restaurant. The people who work there are very good at what they do . Theyre trying to use less plastic when they serve the food for dine in. Thats a really good development. What an experience! We usually go to chicken Dijon but my daughter was curious to see what was on the menu next door and boy are we glad we did. The owner created an amazing experience as soon as we walked in the door. He was kind and welcoming! Watching him interact with “regulars” was entertaining as well. I have been going to this place for years now. The food is delicious and some of the best Mediterranean food you can get in the area. Everything tastes fresh and tasty. The prices arent the cheapest, but you also always get plenty of food for each serving, so it is definitely worth it. Notably, the seating is pretty limited, but Ive never gone during busy hours, so I cant speak on availability. The parking lot is small though, and it is shared with four other storefronts.

You get 2 skewers on a plate as opposed just one skewer that Chicken Dijon (the neighboring business) will give you for the same price. Complimentary pita bread and delicious hummus when you eat there. Oh and the rice is better than Chicken Dijon too. Everything is fresh and you will leave satisfied. It is a small dining area in there but it has never been an issue for me. Staff is friendly and the food is damn good. Been going there for years. Very friendly and accommodating staff, they offered me a sample of their tikka masala sauce to take home with my initial order so that I could gage if its too spicy for my taste. That was over 2 years ago. Now the chicken tikka masala is my usual plate that I would get.I have ordered catered trays here, custom plates and desserts and Im always asking about new plates to try and theyve been so patient answering my questions. I am a huge fan of Al Hamra simply because this is the best mediterranean style food and restaurant around.The owner or manager / employees are very friendly and want to you to enjoy the food. The most important part, the food is astronomically better than any other mediterranean around. Hummus is creamy and smooth with a flavor subtly unlike any other. The Gyro is the best I’ve found with a rich flavor and perfect amount of seasoning. Prices are very comparable if not better than any other place and they give you so much food with every order. When looking at what you pay and the quality of food you get, you can’t beat Al Hamra.A really cool story of how I found the restaurant is that my girlfriend and I were in an Uber somewhere in Los Angeles. When talking to the driver who I believe was Lebanese, though don’t want to assume, we mentioned that we live in the Southbay. Well the rest of the car ride the driver could not stop talking about Al Hamra and how it is the best Mediterranean food in all of Los Angeles. He kept going on about how good it is, how it’s in Redondo Beach and how we have to go. Ever since then, my girlfriend and I make about a weekly trip there at minimum. That was about a year or two ago.I hope everyone gets to try this amazing food and I wish nothing but the best for the restaurant and its employees.

Quite an unpleasant experience. Called in advance to order the meat combo for 2 and was not worth it. First the portion is very small for two people, especially for the price. Youre paying $30 and should expect to get full. Worst part was the food was so incredibly dry. Honestly only the steak meat on the plate was good, everything else bone dry. The menu says it comes with three sides but they choose them for you, unless you pay extra to pick your own sides. Gave two instead of one star because food was prepared fast.

One of my favorite restaurants in the area for a traditional halal kitchen. The freshness of the ingredients is what gets me every time... the garlic sauce and tzatziki are always fresh/delicious.I recommend.
