Fun place to stop for a beer. The staff is friendly and knowledgable about the beer. Be sure to take their advice. The scotch ale and the paddle pilsner are great.The indoor seating in simple and the outdoor seating is a shared space between three different restaurants. They also sell growler fills.Id definitely recommend stopping stopping by.

This place has a great selection of beers. They also have about 10 rotational beers on draft. Theres also a restaurant next door you can get food from. The staff was very helpful in helping me pick out a flight of beers. It was very delicious and I will definitely come back here again

What a cool and chilled out place this is! We were in Alameda and before heading back to Oakland decided to stop by so hubby could get his IPA.Place is quite big and spacious with plenty of seating options for small and large groups. And may i sat it was quite happening on a Tuesday night - woohoo!Staff is friendly and place is clean and neatPrices are fantastic at about 5-6$ for beers and they also hook you up with finger food from the place nextdoor serving fries, chicken wings, noodles etc.They also had plenty of boardgames so we ended up playing scrabble and having a great time.Would love to be back when around the neighborhood!

A great beer selection and a broad number of IPAs. It was recommended that I try the Island Haze, a NEIPA, and the recommendation was on point. Place is comfortable with a good vibe and its easy to hang out here with a big group of people, with food just across the way. You should stop by if youre in Alameda.

This microbrewery has delicious craft beer with Alameda-themed names and occasionally a few non-alcoholic options like root beer and kombucha on tap.Their motto is “something for everyone” in the hopes that they can make beer more accessible. I’d say they’ve definitely made it more accessible to parents! The kid-friendly space has big tables inside, an arcade game, clean bathrooms, and lots of seats outside.The outdoor space is shared with the neighboring restaurant, Monkey King at the Brewery, which is an island-favorite that sells delicious wings, fries, kimchi rice, and shares space with Alameda Scoop, a local ice cream shop. Customers at all three establishments can eat on the patio or even inside the brewery. So, get yourself a pint, and your kids a cone of ice cream, and call it a day!

Roughly 15 beers on tap in a nice atmosphere. While they dont have food, you can bring in any food youd like, including delivery. Dogs are also welcome. I really enjoyed their Hazy IPA. Im only in Oakland for work but if I lived here, this place would be a regular spot of mine. Hazy IPA pictured in the review.

Super friendly staff with a real hard lean into the videogame / geek culture. Star Wars stuff everywhere, and an awesome arcade machine with hundreds of old school arcade games to select from.Oh and the beer is on point too!

Alameda Island Brewing Company has a good rotating variety of beers (and a barley wine) on tap. Personally, my favorite (which isnt always on tap, but always available canned) is Sea Haggis, a Scottish Ale. Its a spacious space, so good for larger groups as well as individuals or small gatherings of friends. The brewing process and tanks are clearly visible through large glass windows from the sitting area. They take cash or cards and their bathrooms are impeccably clean (and even have fold out changing tables in the stalls if you bring the little ones). Staff is courteous and friendly and able to answer any questions you may have about their brews. Taste flights are also offered in case you cant immediately make up your mind about what you might want to drink. And...theyre right next door to a good food place and allow you to have the food delivered to the brewery. Bonus! Internet is available and free, so you can bring your work if you want to sit at a table with your laptop/tablet/phone. Theres always some background music playing over the speakers, and its never too loud to overpower your own conversations. My recommendation: come down and check it out, I dont think youll be disappointed. (Mask is required to enter and order... and they clean tables after anyone leaves. )

Great tap selection, something for everyone. Generally mild and easy drinking with a variety of styles to try. Dog and kid-friendly. Lots of seating and not very noisy. The staff is wonderful, always helpful. Prices are reasonable. Their New England style IPAs are my favorite.

They gave me tastes of the three beers I was interested in trying, and then gave me a taste of something they thought I’d like based on our conversation.It’s my new favorite—these lads know what they’re about.Love that the neighbors deliver food to your seat. AIBC has been a go to of ours for years! Even our kiddo loves it, she will suggest this spot for family night because of the chill atmosphere and theyre next door to Monkey King. I received horrible service here a few years ago. Bartenders were super unfriendly and kept talking to their friends and ignoring the customers. No acknowledgement or Ill be right with youFirst time I patiently waited, then she was very unfriendly and condescending. Second time other bartender also ignored us even though he saw us multiple times standing there. He kept talking to his friends at the counter for a long time. We just left after that to go to the different bar. Never going back.

Awesome local Brew House. Families and pets welcome. Food served by a next door resturant. We didnt try the food but heard it was good. The beer is outstanding. The customer service was great. All around good experience. In fact going back tomorrow to refill a few growlers. I am an IPA fan and they dont disappoint. I dont write reviews often. Mostly because places dont seem to stand out these days. I have been to tons of breweries all over the US. AIB holds their own.

Visited 4 breweries in Alameda on a recent trip. Theyre all very good but this was the best. Not only are their beers great, but their bartenders were the friendliest. There is also a very popular wings / Asian pub food place right next door.

I stop in every time I am near Alameda, and recommend this place to all my friends. Friendly service and great, reasonably priced beers. Coming up on one year being open and I feel they are just spreading their wings trying out new and uncommon styles. They release a new beer every couple of months to keep things interesting.

The space, vibe and infectiously enthusiastic Alameda Island Brewing team are 5-star. Its a fun place to take guests, especially people who enjoy tasting beer flights. However, this porter and stout lover struggles to find a rave-worthy brew here but concede I am always in the minority. I do appreciate their pint prices and lower alcohol percentages.

If you like microbrewery but have kids and/or dogs, you should check out this place. They allow kids in this place, and dogs are allowed in the patio area. The selection of the beer is huge. You can also order food to eat there from the surrounding restaurants. The music they play is good -- ranging from Ramones to other fun punk music.

Almanac has a variety of sour beers in a huge warehouse type space. They allow children and have a bbq food truck outside. The beers are amazing and the set up is pretty cool for hang out and chill. There is an outdoor/indoor space at the end of a new development area. Its great on sunny days.

Love Alameda Island, top quality beer but there hours now are pretty horrible and killer for us Oakland fans off the island, closes at 7. By the time you get out of work and traffic theyre open for only 1 hour or less. Wish they would shift it/push it back an hour or two.EDIT: Its not too busy these days, I know a lot of locals that head elsewhere b/c they close so early. So thats a +. Think when they get some decent hours again the crowds will come back. If management actually reads this, when you do get later hours, please advertise it. Park St locals miss Alameda Island. EVERYONE is tired of Lucky 13 being the only decent beer option post-shutdown on Park for Friday/Saturday nights.

The beer here was amazing. They brew their own and you can see the vessels they use to ferment it in through the window inside. Service was super friendly and knew a lot about beer. Tried ten different beers and they were very smooth with distinct flavors. I think they had close to 20 different flavors. They range from pale ales to IPAs. If you like beer, there is something for you here.The scene is pretty casual. I can tell most people that came just finished work and wanted to unwind with some friends. They have games to play and a delicious Asian/cajun fusion quick bite restaurant next door. They allow you to eat the food in this bar and vice versa. Great experience. Definitely recommend for someone looking for a spot on thirsty thursday or going out of the weekend.

Stopped here to kill time on the way to a friends place. From the hoppy flight, Coastal Classic was my favorite! 2nd favorite was Ales for ALS, 3rd was Island Haze, then Unsinkable Sam in 4th & Space Koala in 5th. Sea Haggis was tasty but OMG.... Port Barrel-Aged Round Hole, Square Peg was liquid dessert. I gave it a 5 on Untappd. We bought 1 bottle to go & 3 crowlers. Only 5 bottles left now.

Fantastic place! I love a drinking space where I have the option to bring my dog, pet other peoples dogs, play board games, bring my own food, & sample a smorgasbord of brewski. Alameda Island Brewing has all of these things, plus prime location. The flights are a fun and affordable way to make your way though their many selections. Plus I love that you can customize the flight. The service was great. Speedy, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. The crowd was mixed, from a few families with kids, to awkward internet dates (great ppl watching opportunity), and even James McAdoo from the Warriors.

I used to be a big fan of this brewery, but tonight I came away very disappointed. I tried 3 beers from IPA to Pale Ale, and all were extremely bitter, not in the typical IPA way but in a very bad way, which suggests poor brewing. I feel so sad.

This is my local, my beer home, my mecca at the end of the week and the place where everybody knows my name.The beer at AIBC is top two or three in the whole Bay Area for me, if not number one, and the Sea Haggis is a particular favorite. The head brewer Matt is always experimenting and bringing out styles and variants that are just a cut above what you would get somewhere else.On top of that, all the taproom staff are friendly and knowledgeable, led by the inimitable Darth Mikus. If you have a bad time here, its because you chose to, not because of the staff.I can also say, having hit most of the breweries in the East Bay, the taproom at AIBC has one of the best setups Ive seen. Lots of space for an urban brewery while still letting you look right into the brewer operations (thankfully behind glass -- breweries are cold for a reason, taprooms shouldnt be!).
