Alloro Cucina Italiana in Grass Valley

My daughter wanted to go here for her 13th birthday. I used Google Reserve to make our reservation - which was super convenient and easy. We were seated on the patio as soon as we arrived. Service was prompt and friendly. The complimentary bread was delicious, as were our entrees. We’ll definitely be back!

100% recommend!!!!!! If you live anywhere near Grass Valley or are passing through you MUST stop & dine here. This is the best Italian restaurant in Nevada county The signs outside of the restaurant may throw you off a bit but this is a truly fine dining experience. My boyfriend & I had our 7 year anniversary here tonight and it was the nicest anniversary dinner we have had in a long time. The staff are the friendliest people I have ever met, they are so kind & accommodating. Every staff member that we met ( a total of 3) made our dining experience that much better. The best part is that besides this restaurant being an old Victorian style house & having authentic Italian ambience... the food will make you melt.Everything we ate was seasoned to perfection, tender, not too salty & very filling. I cant rave enough about the main entree options that they have to offer. We will be coming back several times & trying more things on the menu.Thank you again Alloro for the best experience we could have had!

Awesome Italian restaurant. Very romantic and cozy. Try the risotto! Across the street from the newer holiday Inn express. Make reservations as this is a very small place (Victorian)Well staffed. If you are visiting then this place is great..off the freeway and across the hotel. Prices are moderate

The stake was amazing. The mushroom sauce made the dish complete, and the calamari was spectacular

Been wanting to come here for about year now. A local winery recommended it, so I had to try it. We were not disappointed!Arrived here a little before 8 on a Saturday evening, and we got seated right away. Good because I was starving.The service was good, but not 5 stars. Sorry. I cant point to anything in particular why, I just remember there was room for improvement.Now the important stuff, the food. My date got the Canolli with chicken. She really liked her dish, and thankfully I got to try it. It was one the best Id ever had. The crepe used to make it was spot on and the pesto cream sauce was out of this world good. Im not a huge fan of pesto, but this was a delicate version. Was not too pesto-y. If that makes sense. I got the Red Snapper special, which came with a saffron risotto and grilled veggies. Oh, and it had a picatta sauce on the fish. I was debating going with another dish, and Im so glad I decided on the fish. It was sinfully good! This was the best meal Ive had in a while, and I eat out a lot. Just writing this makes me want to go back tonight. It was that good.The atmosphere there is very quaint. Its a great place to take a date. If you havent already figured it out, I highly recommend this place and will return soon. The menu was filled with things I want to try.

If I could give them more than five stars I would! Victor was our server and he was the best! We went in for an appetizer in the afternoon to check it out and he was our server then as well. We then made reservations for our 36th year anniversary and let me tell you the food was absolutely fabulous! I highly recommend this

The restaurant got busy fast! Make reservations if you can so that you’re not waiting long. The food was delicious, my wife had the scallops/prawns/lobster, but the lobster wasn’t fully cooked. My steak was perfect! Slow to get refills on drinks, and no follow-up once food was delivered. Other than that, good experience.

Absolutely delicious! Service was amazing. We were celebrating a birthday and a few of the waitstaff came over to sing a Spanish birthday song with us.My daughter has celiac and must not have any cross contamination with gluten. The kitchen was very careful to prepare her meal on separate surfaces and cooked her gluten-free pasta in a fresh pot of water.The atmosphere was very cozy in a renovated historic home.

During the pandemic, the restaurant was offering lunch orders to go. I was ordering from here at least once a week. Ive tried almost everything. I absolutely LOVE the ravioli! All of the sauces are delicious, but I find that the gorgonzola sauce is the most savory. Its my favorite and I crave it. My fiancé took me out last night and I tried the shrimp ravioli special. I felt like Bill Murray in What About Bob. It was SO good! My fiancé tried the linguine polpette. We loved the dishes so much, we ordered more to-go so we can enjoy the food again today. They packed our to-go order with care and a bag full of fresh garlic bread.

Im not generally an Italian food person. I prefer traditional beef and chicken, but I was part of a group who chose to go here and was I ever surprised. There were 7 of us and we each ordered something different. Everyone was thrilled and remarked over and over how good it was. I chose the scaloppine marsala with chicken and mushrooms. The marsala wine sauce and polenta/roasted veggies were better than dessert to my tastebuds. We will definitely return and highly recommend! Reasonably priced, too, and excellent service.
