Nothing impressive. The roll options are all basic with the exception of the monkey roll which has banana on it which is weird and why I had to try it but wouldn’t order it again. It would be one thing if any of the many rolls we tried as a large group had something worth saying it was delicious but having tried many specialty rolls and handrolls, it was all average at best.

Really surprised by how good this place was based on other reviews and for the money. Server was really nice and helpful. Curry udon and Nigiri were great. My family enjoyed there food as well. Not my number one recent spot, but close to it. We will definitely go back as a family again soon. They have everything we all like and it’s really solid!

We always get take out from here but this is our first sit in lunch. They never disappoint. That dragon roll was gorgeous and so sweet. The calamari are stick form and very filling. I loved my octopus with a little wasabi on them. Love this place!!

I have been eating here for almost 5 years. It was always an 8 out of 10 but in my eyes nothing is really a 10. For some reason lately the quality of the fish has dropped from an 8 to a 6 or even a 5. I was there Sunday evening and I was not pleased at all. I was tempted to ask my Mexican bros about what the deal was with the fish. It taste so bad like the quality is just poor. I do not think I will be going back. Too bad I used to love it but good things do not last forever.Time to find another spot, I hope the owner gets to read this.

Leaving my #UberfoodiereviewI love stopping by to new places and give them a chance, today I got me a baked salmon sushi it tasted delicious, platting was on point and i enjoy every bite of it.Servers were super polite and nice, The place had loving Christmas decorationsjust add some music in the background and it could help with the atmosphere for a great experience. Overall it’s a good place for a quick bite.

Stopped in for the first time and tried the sushi. My son and I were very happy with the quality, presentation, and taste of everything we ordered. Service was very excellent. Well definitely be returning again soon and we dont even live in El Cajon. Thank you!

For the price and the portion, they can go to h$&@. 8 pieces are like four pieces cut in half compared to any other sushi place in the area. Tasted 3 out of 10. Start off with the food. Some pretty great options here. I recommend the dynamite roll but it does take a long time to prepare.The menu is pretty standard and they do offer specials with discounted prices that change often.The basic rolls of California and Philly had no flavor and was served with out a sauce so pretty dry unless you like hi sodium soy sauce.The prices are for the most part average, the standard roll (California, Philly, and such) proces are a little above other locations. Not a lit of Sushi competition in The area so I guess it sets the prices.Staff, really nice and friendly, seemed like a lack of communication between wait staff though as it appeared as if they are not sure who is working which table.Atmosphere is really nice hand done artwork. Although the art has been slowly progressing for 5+ years now. Just finish it already.Location and parking isnt the best but its close to. A mall and shopping nearby, it is sort of hidden behind a larger building in front of it and car dealerships around it so its easily overlooked.Final result, I have been coming for years and will still do so for sushi needs in the area. Other areas are better further away but for the locations its decent.

Ive been coming here for about 12 years now. The prices are a lot more then they use to be $40 doesnt go far for 2 adults and a 6 year old we spend about $100 now to get full. Thats my biggest issue here other then that the fish is always fresh and the staff is helpful and friendly always. Ill always come back and still tell everyone about this place. Oh and the fuzzy guy got to sit with us! They welcomed him gladly.

Even with the happy hour discount, the quantity of fish in the rolls is not a great deal compared with other sushi restaurants. It is even less of a value since they use fake crab, instead of real crab like high quality sushi restaurants. Otherwise, the sushi is fresh.

Pretty much a full on asian restaurant. Lots of choices for sushi but some other things worth a look. Staff was friendly and helpful. The store is clean and organized. They have sushi chef on site that make what you order so everything is fresh. Portions were decent for the price.

Some of the worst sushi I ever had. Got 4 rolls. The freshness was VERY questionable. Probably only reason we didnt get sick was they were 99% rice. Even the sauce on top just tasted old. 2 Stars because the servers were nice.

I dont know. Maybe I have a high standard. My son ordered a tempura udon and it came with 2 fried shrimps and 1 fried broccoli. I refused to say tempura because they didnt use tempura batter. The menu is huge but I just dont see the craftsmanship in Japanese food or sushi. On a positive note, theyll give you a 10% discount if you pay cash!

Im not one to post negative reviews... but dang I had to. Ive ordered here multiple times over the past year and have never been particularly impressed with the food quality especially for the price. But theyre located close and have good reviews (I dont know why) so I kept giving them a chance. Tonight I ordered the chefs choice sashimi platter and every piece of fish had a STRONG fish smell/taste. There was also no Wasabi with my sashimi platter. The fish was obviously very old.. same fish they use for all their rolls too..

I have tried food from this place before multiple times and all I can say is that it is worth ordering and dining inside the restaurant, dont do takeout the quality is poor. I did take out and immediately started to eat it in my car. I got the Philadelphia roll and it wasnt cold at all, it was barely room temp. Fresh sushi should be cold always and not warm or even lukewarm because it can cause illness. The fish from the roll was kinda chewy and tough even though it looked nice presentation wise. When I had it inside the restaurant it was very delicous and cold idk why takeout has poorer quality. I ordered the miso soup and it was bland. It was salty of course but it didnt taste like anything else. There wasnt enough tofu pieces in it. I only had like 2 tiny pieces of tofu and the rest seaweed which tasted fine. I didnt taste the paste much at all. It needs more flavor. I also ordered unsweetened iced green tea, I was hoping for it to taste like green tea but nope. It just tasted like regular water. I didnt taste green tea at all. It was colored so I know its iced green tea but there was no flavor of it at all. How sad. I also had the green tea mochi icecream ball and weirdly enough this one tasted very strong but it didnt taste like green tea or macha, it tasted very perfumey. Howcome this one has a very strong flavor but the unsweetened green iced tea had no flavor? I wish this place knew how to make green tea flavored items and be consistent.

Had a Garlic Chicken platter with Fried fish and the fried fish, though battered was surprisingly tasty and sizable portions of Everything! Lots of tasty chicken, broccoli.... came with yummy salad. I asked for extra ginger dressing and it’s the Best ginger dressing I’ve found so far in SD, made the right way with vinegar not Mayo like other places. Forgot to take picture until halfway through the garlic chicken! Great, great value and kind service. I’ll be back.

I love this place. Try any sushi roll for a great price. Try the cucumber salad is really good. You have to get the deep fried Kama during happy hour when its only $8. Its some of the best fish youll ever have. My daughter likes the egg rolls. Fried calamari is delicious, its big strips of calamari steak. Oh yeah and the miso soup is delicious too. The servers are always very nice and its a very easy atmosphere. You have to go to happy hour Monday through Thursday from 3 to 6 an order pretty much everything on the happy hour menu, you wont be disappointed, enjoy!

We ordered tempura vegetable and the tempura roll and tempura was under cooked not crispy at all. Also ordered the calamari, was different than what Ive had in other suchi restaurants. Did not enjoy that either. Also ordered the poke roll and that was okay but not impressed. Lastly we ordered the moonlight roll and we did not like it al all the fish did not taste fresh was warm and not very good either. The food was made pretty quickly so the service was good but the quality of the suchi was not good.

I went there for my birthday dinner tonight. There were 5 adults and a 21 month old toddler in our party. We had her split the check. When we received our bills, they had added a gratuity on both. The waitress said that it is automatically added on for parties of 6 or more. I have big issues with this. I have never been to a restaurant where 6 people are considered a big table. Also, who charges a baby as an adult? They have lost my business and the business of my adult children.

It’s not the most impressive food but you won’t walk away feeling like you were completely cheated. I ordered through door dash and got the Poke Roll, Tempura Salmon roll, and the Yakisoba noodles with chicken. The noodles were ok flavor but they weren’t anything special. They had a few long ribbons of carrot in it with chopped up cabbage. The chicken was small pieces floating amongst the noodles. I almost thought they forgot the chicken, that’s how small and how few pieces there were. The Tempura Salmon was just a little disappointing. The salmon was overcooked and dry inside. The flavor overall was underwhelming. The Poke roll had so many great ingredients but it was not very tightly rolled and was really messy. The flavor was good but again not super impressive. I wouldn’t avoid this place, but I hope there other items are better.

On the plus side the place is clean for El Cajon and service is polite. The place is A rated for cleanliness, accurate. My roll experience was a huge disappointment, especially on a Friday after payday when you really want a good sushi dinner. I wouldnt bring a date here, especially a first date. Two stars for cleanliness and polite service. Below satisfied on sushi- go to Albertsons and save a couple of bucks. I just changed to one star- $29 for lousy sushi.

One of Hidden Gems of sushi joints in San Diego. Excellent service, friendly staff and great food at a great price. The specialty rolls are good and you can add heat to any roll you wish, just give them a number. I like Indian food and a number eight here is on par with a number eight at an Indian restaurant.

The food was mediocre at best. I guess if you live in El Cajon you would say its good sushi. However if you walk across to Parkway Plaza and eat the sushi in the mall I would say its a lot better. As someone who eats sushi from different places all the time, I would say this one made me feel like it was beginner sushi. Nothing tasted right and after eating it I felt a little uneasy. To say its the best sushi obviously means that you dont eat sushi very much. I would travel a little further just to get good quality grade sushi even if I had to pay a little bit more. I say you get what you pay for here.

I only got to take out some rolls the other day for a birthday party. Looking at the menu they had some interesting rolls (not really my taste but intersting none the less) like the monkey roll that is made with bananna or the mango roll... both a little too sweet for me but I did have the lemon roll and added jalepenos and it was really really good. I think Ive found my home base there. Ill have to try a greater variety of the items they offer to make a better assesment of this place but for now they did pretty good in my book and I will definately be back to give it another go.

This is my favorite place to just go for tons of super cheap sushi with my friends. The classics are mostly under $10 a roll (most under $7), and the quantity of most classic style roles isnt too shabby either.
