2023-07-18 16:23:01Angel Oak is one of the best restaurants you can dine in in Santa Barbara. With great food and ocean views this is definitely a spot you want to try. The restaurant is on the grounds of the Ritz-Carlton and this place is beautiful. Right on the coast of Santa Barbara you get great ocean and mountain views. The service and the food are amazing. Our hostess, a young woman named Kat, was amazingly friendly and nice. And our server Jen was so kind and helpful. The food was amazing and the drinks were really good.

2023-06-19 23:22:22The whole experience terrible. We had a dinner reservation for 6:30p.m.No liners for the bathrooms were stocked. That was the first fail. Second, our order took an hour and a half to come out, which really wasn’t an issue, but when I told our waiter we would be back in 5 to take picture on the patio, we ended up coming back from outside to all of our champagne and plates being gone, we were maybe gone 8 minutes. We told our waiter and he was very kind and said that there is a new bus boy helping out and that that was not okay and that he’d get us more champagne because ours had been taken along with all of our silverware and plates. So by this time we still don’t have our food and I’m starting to get annoyed. I’m waiting on 2 $42 salmons and a $40-something pasta dish for my friends and and once it comes out IT’S COLD.This tells me A, our food was forgotten on the line, or B it was pre-made and reheated in a microwave! Which one is it?I tell Kevin and he apologizes and removes 2 of the 3 dishes and the broccolini app to be reheated. My friend was so hungry that she decided to eat her salmon cold, that is why only two of the three dishes were taken. When the dishes come back the pasta was fine and reheated however they do that, but my salmon had a thick burnt layer of crust. Not only that but my salmon was piping hot and my vegetables and sauce were still cold. Apparently my salmon was just slapped on a grill for reheating OR a microwave which wouldn’t surprise me at all.To make things more comical, the broccolini was charred with the parm cheese completely burned and the florets burnt also. The manager ended up coming out and taking the dishes off and giving us 2 cheesecakes. He was professional and kind, but it was a total waste of our night. I did not get the experience I thought I was paying for.To bring this story full circle we leave at about 8:30 to which there’s still no liners in the washrooms. This was not a restaurant at the Ritz from my experience. I came here one, because I was a guest at the hotel and two, because of the positive reviews. At the end I was charged $96 for French fried and Mac and cheese and two champagnes, LOL.One additional thing: we bought bottled, still water and a server’s assistant ended up pouring pitcher, tap water into our glasses that had bottled water.Again, not luxury, 5 star quality.

2023-01-12 04:02:27“Before anything else, preparation is the key to success.”Alexander Graham BellWell it appears that the inventor of the telephone knew that of which he spoke. The “Wagu Short Rib” is readied via a “sous vide” method that involves 48 hours of preparation before you arrive at your table. The combination of flavors are amazing and the smokey dollops of potatoes that accompanied the meat complimented it perfectly. The “NY Steak” on the other hand is dry aged for 30 days. Although it offers less of a symphony of flavors, the musicians in this orchestra play their instruments with skill and aplomb.Caution is advised if you order the “Baby Potatoes” as a side. There is nothing “baby” about their serving size and they are best shared. This is a fantastic and romantic Date Night destination offering good views of the Pacific Ocean and proved to be a great spot for our wedding anniversary. Our Review Team for this Road Trip may have been limited to just 2 individuals, but that was by design. 😉And that’s…Henry’s Take.#santabarbaraanniversary

2021-10-20 13:30:18Incredible service and food! We were staying at the Bacara and decided to dine here to celebrate our engagement. From the moment you walk into the door, the impeccable service begins. We were welcomed with a warm smile and promptly shown to our table outside with a fantastic view of the ocean. The atmosphere of the entire restaurant was energetic! We essentially had two servers the entire night, a somm who helped guide us through their vast wine selection and made sure our glasses were never empty, and then our waiter who made excellent food recommendations and took good care of us the entire night. We both ordered the Filet Mignon with shaved truffles on top and it was melt in your mouth delicious…maybe even the best steak I’ve ever tasted! The cut of meat was fantastic, it was cooked to medium-rare perfection, and the shaved truffles on top just melted right into the steak. Overall this was a phenomenal experience and a great place to celebrate our recent engagement!!
