This place is the BEST! Words cannot describe how grateful I am for the doctors and staff. My 16 year old chihuahua had terrible dental infection/issues and needed emergency teeth removal. The doctor showed such grace and mercy for us and our situation. She truly cares about the animals health and wellbeing more than the money. I’ve been to several veterinary clinics and no one would ever consider helping us without several thousand dollars up front. She went above and beyond while working with our budget and saved our precious pup. Any surgery or procedure is risky when it comes to a 16 year old 4 pound puppy but she did amazing and he is now a healthy happy pup and even acts years younger zooming around the house like a young pup. I would recommend this veterinary clinic to all my family and friends. They are the best!!

If I could give no stars I would. They wanted to charge us $299. Over the cost to put our dog to sleep if we wanted to be in the room. We thought vetinarians and compassion were simular. We have had many dogs and horses and were never required to pay extra to be with them. Cruel

I have obtained a small box turtle. Appears old and not be taken care of. I hope to turn that around. She was examined and had her overgrown beak trimmed. Dr Jackson did a great job. Tks to all staff, all treated us well. :)

I am so glad I found this place again ..I have been to multiple vet clinics in the area over the thelast several months afterleaving Loomis Vet clinic( had been a client there for over 20 plus years ...I have been trying to find another clinic to feel was my vet clinic..i am happy that itlooks like I have in Animal Medical Clinic..everyone I met here was professional friendly it was so well organized and the vets were very knowledgeable and caring...I saw a Dr Kelsey Thomas who is a relatively new vet to this Clinic ...she was caring very thorough and I felt very knowledgeable explained everything well took the time I have seen Dr Jackson and he is excellent hes the main one highly recommend this clinic...

I cant say enough about the Animal Medical Center. We have two amazing little rascals; A brother and sister team of ten year old Boston Terriers who have had the benefit of being cared for by the nurturing and professional team of Vets, Techs and office staff of this incredible facility since they were eight weeks old.We recently had a scare with our little girl when an unusual looking mole popped up on her side. We took her in and had it tested. The initial assessment ran the range of severity. Obviously we were concerned and upset as to the possibilities that it could be cancer. Spread and degree were the main issues if it turned out to be the worst case scenario. Although the professional and gifted Dr. Kent Jackson advised us that there were many unknowns and tried to ease our concerns with encouraging words; We were still on pins and needles waiting for the lab results. The appointment was on a Thursday and we were told results would be back by Monday.The results came back earlier and guess who called us from his house (on a sat. day off). Dr Jackson to tell us that it was a benign tumor and that our little girl would be fine. Just wanted to express my deep appreciation for their standard of care and the sincere love that they show to their patients and the obsessed parents that follow behind them on their people leashes.

I had to go to put down one of my pets so this wont be an upbeat review but we were seen in a timely manner for our appointment the staff was friendly. The doctor was knowledgeable and was able to quickly diagnose the problems and give us our options. All it was a great place for a hard time in our life.

Scheduled an appointment weeks ago for shots and an evaluation for neuter today.Turns out they had no intention on being honorable.One of the staff tried to poison my dog but he refused the water.They were disrespectful and attempted to gaslight and follow abusive narcotic false narrative.Do not appreciate at all the appointment being book for my dogs just so they can try to make judgments and comments and force me to pay for further appointments when they all could have had eval appointments today.Can not respect them.

The nicest, most caring vet they had is gone, unfortunately. For some reason, even though we had an appt, it still took 2 hours for their annual and shots. To be fair, when we brought 4 dogs last year, it took four, so at least they are consistent. Not a fan.

We recently got a puppy and after reading all the great reviews for animal medical center we selected them as our vet. Our first appointment went okay, not great, but not terrible. When we returned a few weeks later for updated shots we received similar service, nothing I would write home about but nothing that made me feel they could not provide services for our pup. So, we booked our next appointment with them again. When we came to this appointment, they asked how is everything going? any concerns? And we told them we had concerns he had an ear infection to which they replied we do not have an appointment with a veterinarian, and he would not be able to be seen for this issue. First, I was shocked because we had requested appointments with a veterinarian not a technician, so this was news to me. I honestly cant say if my dog has ever seen a veterinarian there or they just have technicians seeing the animals and a vet signing of on this. I was surprised by this and received no effort to schedule another appointment to have his ear infection addressed. When I asked if I should find another vet who can treat my dog and I received radio silence. I would understand if I was asking for some in-depth procedure that was not scheduled but I am literally asking for the veterinarian to see my dog who I had scheduled an appointment with. I work in healthcare myself it is not very time consuming to examine an ear and prescribe ear drops. I requested that they see my dog for his updated shots and if they could please have someone take a quick look in his ear that it would be appreciated. Fast forward an hour later, they call to collect payment and we had to ask them to bring him out to the car because they thought they had already done that. How did you lose my dog inside your facility? When they finally returned our puppy to us, they made no mention of the ear infection or attempt to schedule another appointment. To make matters worse when I looked at his rabies certification it says, I hereby certify that I have vaccinated this animal in accordance with the manufacturers recommendation for the vaccine used on the above date. This only added to my frustration because he clearly saw a veterinarian who chose not to examine his ear, or they have technicians who are administering vaccines that must be administered by a veterinarian. Clearly, we have found another veterinarian who indeed has treated our dog for an ear infection. This is not a clinic I would recommend if you are looking for quality service and a veterinarian who truly cares about the service they provide.

We recently had the Animal Medical Center keep our dog Rudy for two days while we were on a much needed getaway to Reno. Molly came out to our car and Rudy was happy to see her as usual. They trimmed his nails and took great care of him. The entire staff of this Center is excellent and we highly recommend them.

Ive had the misfortune of taking my dogs to 4 different Veterinarian clinics in the last 4 months. The two appointments at AMC Grass Valley have been by far the best experiences. Very short wait times to get in (less than 15 minutes), pet was treated quickly and released in well under an hour. Staff was understanding and treated our pet with kindness, Doctor Mario came out to talk to me face to face both times, and the bill didnt give me a heart attack. I highly recommend!

These people are efficient and friendly...they have you stay in your car & let them know youve arrived via your call to them. They send out a medical person who takes your animal inside. Afterwards, they bring it back out to you, tell & take your payment and you leave. My dog had vaccinations and liked the handler so much, he started to follow her back into the very place they put needles in his body!

Wouldnt take my animals here ever again unless I could be guaranteed to get Dr. Katie. But even then, the prices are quite expensive. We had a pet emergency and had the misfortune of having Kent Jackson. He was rude, insensitive and didnt take the time to listen to our dogs existing medical conditions or take into consideration our dogs age. He seemed more interested in making us feel guilty about our dog being injured and getting our credit card info than in giving us helpful information. We were already upset by what was happening and he made us feel like we didnt have any options. The next morning we got to talk to Dr Katie. She was a breathe of common sense, decency, and humanity. She had examined our dog and then took the time to listen to what Jackson should have listened to. After hearing everything, she gave us the information we should have been given the day before, and the support we needed to make an informed decision about a very difficult situation. In the end, we had to let go of our sweet old guy. I am just glad it was Dr. Katie there at the end and not Kent Jackson.

What a great vet! So helpful and accommodating. After being in and out for several months with my pup for a broken leg, I felt like I met everyone. They are all so kind and informative. My dog also doesnt get along with other dogs. They made sure to let me enter from the side and take their time to make sure the halls were cleared. 4 years later and I wouldnt take my pup anywhere else.

Came in for my cat when she was passing some string.Everyone was very polite and professional.When the vet, Dayna Mills I believe, called to update me on my cats condition she was extremely helpful and answered all my questions patiently.Instead of wanting to do unnecessary testing I was told to save my money for when I really needed it.I would recommend them in case of emergency.

Theyre very professional here. I bring all of my pets here, and theyre very helpful, and are willing to work with you, and tell you all of the options. They also arent judgmental on what you choose to do or dont do.We just got a new cat last year, and we started bringing her here too. They also arent arm and leg expensive for good work.

I have brought my dog and my cat here and am very pleased with the staff and care received. They were all very compassionate when the results came back that my old cat had cancer and I made the painful choice to say goodbye. They gave me lots of space and time to say goodbye. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a good, honest and compassionate vet office.

Ive been very patient w/ this Vet office and have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. I wouldnt recommend this vet office because of their lack of professionalism and timeliness. I used to live in Auburn and this was the closest Vet office at the time a couple years ago. Even then their front desk workers, talk very condescendingly and not like real humans speaking to humans. I ignored this annoying customer service voice they portray because they sound like young girls who just havent learned how to use bed side manner yet. Ive been here 3-4x. I recently brought my dog in to get updated shots, get medication and run a lab test for a concern I had. The Vet let me know I should get a call either way if my dog tested positive or not. I currently live in Sacramento and had to drive back the next day just to pick up medication. When I arrived, there were no customers parked in the Lot at 1pm and someone answered the phone after a couple minutes, when I let them know I just needed to pick up the medication the front desk girl put me on hold for 15 minutes..... Probably wouldve been longer if I didnt hang up and call back. If the parking lot had people waiting, I would understand but when I expressed my concern the front desk people again use a fake and condescending tone and told me that even if there arent customers, theyre busy. Okay, I get that but I was just picking up medication which takes 30 seconds to run out. I had to get back to work and drive back to Sacramento for this medication. Their hours arent friendly for those who also work office hours. However, the final straw was when I chose to be extremely patient in getting my dogs lab results back. I waited 22 days for them to call me back and confirm if my dog was sick or not.... I called and the first thing I asked was when someone should hear back on a lab result, the women said usually the next day...... She said there was note in their system that someone left me a VM. I did not receive a call nor a VM, so someone lied. The fact that someone lied and couldve potentially allowed my dog to stay sick is just cruel. This place just sucks and I cant waste anymore time or money on a business who doesnt have bed side manner or treats customers in a timely manner. 22 days to wait on lab results is ridiculous

The technicians were polite and informative. I encountered 3 different persons and they took care of my fur baby in a timely, safe fashion, in light of the pandemic. I was reffered to them by my Vet, who could not see my dog for a month. I just needed his vaccinations updated. I may have a new vet after years of loyalty to my current vet.

I like Animal Medical Center, we had a chicken that needed to be put down and they were very kind to my daughters and the hen. Now we have been taking our 2 dogs to them and one dog has seizures so she is on medication and they are very good about filling her prescription. My other dog gets ear infection and itchy skin and they are the only vet that gave me medication for him and he is not so itchy and no more ear infections!! Its amazing wish I would have taken him to them years ago before my old vet destroyed my dogs ear drum.

Kind, considerate vet who discusses all options and probable cost. He gave me time to think and make decisions about my 19 year old Yorkie. You can tell that Dr Jackson likes animals and people too. He does not push an expensive workup and is very down to earth. When it is time for my little guy to cross over the rainbow bridge, I know that the good doctor will help us both.

First of all, 10/10! These people are the most polite, hardworking & dedicated workers I know! I wouldn’t trust my fur babies with anyone else and absolutely wouldn’t recommend anyone other then this place. I was hesitant because my dogs are super shy and protective. Once I left they made my dog feel so comfortable & safe. She wanted to stay lol! When I picked her up it’s like she was a different girl, no longer scared of everything, but giving people a chance. This is important to me because not everyone gives her the chance and helps her feel comfortable but these people did! They showed her that they’re not there to hurt her but make ay process the easiest for her. Well done guys, couldn’t thank you enough & couldn’t say enough good things. Just got off the phone with a worker who checked up on her a day after her surgery, how sweet!!

Not very compassionate on emergency rechecks! Oh you can leave your dog in a cage their all day and perhaps theyll recheck him, after all the money you paid to have him seen in the first place and dog gotten worse! So they dont really care because theyve already got your money

Busy, as most veterinarian places are. Took my bird in but the information for his well being was limited, but birds are exotics so it goes with the territory. Cant give a 5 or 4 star because it was my first visit. I was expecting some kind of treatment for my bird but, got an overdose of information I already knew. And it cost me 100 bucks for ????

The staff is great and the doctor excellent, all are very thorough! I took my dog to a close vet, everyone took their animal their. After $400 dollars later... my dog was even more worse than before! Limping and in a great deal of pain! She refused to do an x-ray for for my dog- she just said to give her muscle rubs! I asked if I could give her some aspirin for her pain, that vet said yes no problem. 2 days went by and on the morning of the third, my dog was spitting up blood! So I took her to the animal medical center- the doctor first gave my dog X-rays - blood work & other tests then promptly found the problem! He called & talked to me at great length about his findings. Subscribed meds, diet and restricted mobility.Shes doing great today!!Thank You to the doctor & all the staff!!

Took 45 minutes to pick up our cat that had been there all night. We just wanted to pay and leave. We were kept on hold for over 30 minutes!! We then waited another 15 minutes for them to bring her out. So, almost an hour to pick up our cat!!

I took my bunny, Jiblet, here today. Staff was very welcoming and professional, the facility was very clean. During her appointment with Dr. Rich, all my questions and concerns were thoroughly answered. While inspecting Jiblet, he handled her with compassion and respect. NEVER did the Doctor or staff feel pushy or rushed. I am so grateful to have such an accommodating facility to take my little bunny.

Not impressed. I have a regular vet whom my dog sees near my workplace, and my family has been using for years, hell come to work with me for the day and we go there, but they arent in Auburn. Ive been to Animal Medical Center twice now, once to get special Science Diet digestive health food for my dog only available from vets, they were very reluctant to sell it to me; my dog had eaten and thrown up a 6 rope toy and needed to be on sensitive stomach food, but I ran out and wasnt going to drive to Davis to get it from my vet. The second time we went there was when my dog was loosing his hair in patches and getting scabs. The vet was 30 minutes late to my appointment, I had to ask the technicians if she was going to ever see us, it turned out she was the loud voice in the room next door the entire time we were waiting, that was talking about their remodel, family members, etc...nothing vet or patient related. She never apologized for running late when she saw us. Also I wasnt pleased with her attitude towards my dog, my other vet comes in with a happy voice, treats, gets down and says Hi to him; there was none of that here, she walked in, looked at him and said hi to me... He had a skin scraping done, which I waited forever for..granted an emergency dog came in during that time, so Ill let that slide. Also when she came to speak with me, she didnt bring him back; hes not staying there, so if they arent performing something on him, it seems like general courtesy to bring my dog back, Id prefer him with me, than in a crate...His tests were inconclusive and she offered no real advice towards his problem. Then the BILL!!! HOLY COW, just the exam rate is TWICE my regular vet! On top of the fee for the skin scraping test. Now I dont mind spending money on my dog, but jeez, my vet isnt cheap or bottom line, but that was too much. Ill be finding a different clinic in Auburn for when we cant make it to our regular vet.

I found this Vet originally back in 2001 when I decided on a whim to buy a Jenday Conure (beautiful but noisy small parrot). I had never had any animals besides cats & dogs that needed medical care. After having him for a few months he became very very ill and weak. I had no idea where to take him or if there were even any bird doctors out there. I was referred to Dr. Kent Jackson at Animal Medical Center. He is amazing. My bird spent a few days in ICU but came out of it to annoy visitors for many many years later. In fact he is still alive and noisy to this day thanks to the rescue efforts by Dr Kent (cant call him Dr Jackson because his brother is also a wonderful Vet there Dr. Rich Jackson) Since that experience with my bird I have taken all my dogs & cats there and never been disappointed.

I cant say enough good about this facility. I wish I could give them a higher rating.I started going to them when my Monica started having senior issues. They were very knowledgeable and we worked through her problems. I moved to Bakersfield a year ago and Dr. Reboltz wrote a thorough report for her next vet. Unfortunately Monica passed in May. She had 3 more good years thanks to Dr. Reboltz. What finally got her was nothing to do with her previous issues. I called AMC to get a message to her vet about what had happened to her. She emailed her condolences to me. Then the office sent a condolence card. Then I found out today that they that they had made a memorial donation in Monicas name to companion dogs at UC Davis. I just LOVE this office. If you love your fur babies as much as I do you will not hesitate using this facility. Much love to all of the men and women there ❤️

My puppy Emmie developed swollen cheeks, nose and face quite suddenly Sunday evening. The Vet I normally go to was closed and doesnt take emergency calls after hours and I remembered my friend said she goes to this Vet and they are open for emergencies. I called and received a phone call from Dr. Jackson very promptly. He asked me questions and provided excellent guidance and direction over the phone including to look for changes to indicate something more serious that needs immediate attention. He could have told me to come in for an office visit and emergency services but he provided careful directions over the phone . He even called several hours later to check on her. I was so impressed! I would definitely go to this Vet the next time my pets are in need.

I used to like this vet, however seeing my moms recent dealings with them had me very displeased. My mom has brought her dog in numerous times because she was behaving sick, and got to the point of having a difficult time getting around. A lot of money, bloodwork, and a weekend stay later Animal Medical Center said they could not figure out the problem. The only thing they could tell my mom was that she had large lymph nodes, and that she needed her teeth cleaned (They kept pushing getting her dental done and insisted that was her issue). So a week later My moms dog had gotten worse, Saturday night she couldnt lift herself to even go potty outside. My mom decided to take her to MarQueen as i told her that they are great and i think she could get a diagnosis from them (unlike Animal Medical Center). Right away MarQueen was able to determine that the dog had stomach cancer, and was ready to be humanely let go. This means for a good amount of time, while the dog made several visits, and had tests run, and had sleep overs at Animal Medical Center, my moms dog was suffering in pain. Animal Medical Centers main focus was clearly trying to sqeeze as much money out of my mom as they could. After getting blood work and being told nothing, my mom brought her dog back in and their suggestion was we should do the blood work again. Blood work twice in less than two weeks? Really? I am thinking they didnt even do it the first time! My mom is more upset with them for not doing their job to the point that her dog was in pain for much longer than she realized; Im angry about that also, but Im also not happy with how they robbed my mom. They should be reimbursing her! I wish she had listened to me the first time after they tried saying she would be better if she got her dental done, I had told her not to bring the dog there and to just go to MarQueen. This isnt my first bad experience with AMC..years ago I brought my Dauschund in for a rattlesnake bite, they had him for a few overnights, but during the first they called and said your dog had seizures after we gave him the antivenom and we lost him...long pause, I start to cry....but we got him back. If you think your pet is in pain, do your pet a favor and go to Loomis Basin, MarQueen, or try out Northfork Vetrinary in Auburn. R.I.P Luxy Loo

Dr Dana: I came in about a month ago. You checked my dog Mariah and said she needed 12 teethe removed,knowing she had a bloated stomach and a heart murmur. In three days,she died. Not entirely your fault,but as a professional you should know better..isnt that why we bring our animals to vets?! I will no longer be coming in. I have seen two differant Vets at the clinic with two different dogs so far. I liked them well enough.They seemed compatent. Staff was OK.My only concern is the clinic smells strongly of uren.That tells me someone is not disinfecting kennels and floors well enough. Having dog kennels and a cattery myself, I know that disinfecting is the key to a good heathy envirnment.Bleach goes a long way in killing odors and bactiria.In my book, if you can smell it, its not clean.

I brought in a husky that needed emergency surgery for a perforated uterus at 8 AM. The surgery was not performed until around Noon. The vet seemed competent, but was not realistic about post op care and expense. The clinic was eager to sign me up for the Care Credit and then had me transfer my animal to Loomis Basin 24 hour care. They said costs would be approximately $300 per day for supportive care, but the bill ended up being $1800 for 2 days. Although I feel the AMC vet did a decent job with the surgery, not once has anyone from the clinic called to see how my dog is doing. They just want their money.

Most of the staff is great and perfectly friendly and caring about my mini potbelly pig, but there seemed to be one or two people wasting time in the back, and making people wait for their appointment. Although I must say that Dr. Rich Jackson is a great, very professional vet. He took great care examine Henwen, our 2 month old pig. He took time to explain that certain squeels are not her being scared, but curious as to what we are doing, along with other pig personality quirks. He explained that he has a couple pigs at home, not very small though. Henwens vaccinations were great and she felt better the next morning, with almost no visible soreness. I belive she is one of the only pigs that visits the small animal department, they do not do spays or neuters but referred me to a specialist down towards Sacramento. Dr. Jackson has earned my respect for his care he showed towards Henwen, along with the secretaries that found her interesting. I will definitely continue to bring Henwen there.
