I had no clue a sandwich could be this good!!! Antonelli’s makes the greatest Turkey sandwich I have ever had in my entire life. I travel for work and I specially requested that we come back her for lunch two days in a row. There is typically a lunch time rush that starts around 1130, but the staff at Antonelli’s moves pretty quick. They close at 4 so you can pick it up for dinner later in the day. If you’re in El Cajon and you’re looking for a Deli with some real heart and soul, come on down to Antonelli’s!!!

People here rating so high are eating with their eyes. They are monstrous, but flavor was imo its par.Italian 7/10: pretty standard. The bread is soft. I could not taste any oil/vinegar. Very thin slices of tomato. The 12 inch is huge. Its basically 3 subway footlongs stacked.Atmosphere 7/10: kind of in the middle of nowhere, but nothing crazyService 8/10: i wanted to try the capicola option which is the same price for the italian. I dont know why i couldnt order 2 different 4 inches for the same price as an 8 inch. Add a variety fee or something.Price $$: $20 before tip for a 12 inch.

Well this place makes a sandwich so but you can barely eat it! For sandwiches in San Diego! You can’t beat this place! I went today to get a salad because I’m doing keto, I was super disappointed. It was mostly lettuce, I added extra bacon and HB eggs. Just got to the end of the salad and there was one piece of bacon on it…. I won’t give this place less than five stars because it’s a sandwich shop not a salad shop. But just know get sandwiches here not salads!! my salad totaled $20…..

My boyfriend wouldnt stop talking about how amazing the sandwiches here are so we were in the area and in we went. The place is small the parking lot is TIGHT but the sandwiches are truly worth the wait, fresh ingredients, packed with flavor and HUGEEE!! Absolutely loved it here!

Take a look at those eating around you prior to ordering. I ordered a 12 sandwich that could have fed my entire family. The quantity and quality of the food was fresh and full of flavor. Only issue, I asked for mayo and mustard, which was not added to sandwich.

If I could give them six stars, I would. Have been coming here for about 15 years, best sandwiches around! Obviously during the lunch rush, they get slammed... But its worth the wait. You can always call ahead to place your order so its ready when you get there. Whenever we have friends come in from out of state, we bring them here and theyre always impressed!

This place was new to me but a lot of people told me good things. They did not disappoint. It is really hard to find a good egg salad sandwich, but the one I had was great. Sandwiches are big, so you can share or save for later if you arent a big eater. Definite recommend.

I went here for the first time this weekend on 3/18/23. I for a corporation beef, on rye bread with all the fixings for my mom. Also, I got the Italian for me and my husband to spilt. The Italian is huge and I was enough to give my brother a half as well. Really nice, clean environment. Good service and the cashier was very nice and helpful with making the right choice for me and my family. This place gets busy, but they moved quick with my order. I sit there about 10 minutes, which id great for how busy it gets. Small place, tucked down . The parking was decent. All in all, I really enjoyed it and I will return soon. I forgot to take to pictures, but it was really good. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

A little on the pricey side at about $16 a sandwich however they are the best sandwich place in all of San Diego bar none. Theres a reason the line is always out the door. Highly recommend their corned beef sandwich a number 31 with grilled bread its out of this world. One other downside is the weight is oftentimes 30 minutes. Sometimes more if its really busy

Been coming to Antonelli’s for over 20 years and let me say to anyone traveling to San Diego or locals looking for new sandwich spots. Don’t look any further, this place has you covered across the board! Never had a bad experience. Only advice is do not walk in between 11-12:30 and expect to eat quickly, call in your order 30-1hr ahead of time.

We had the 8 inch ham, salami, motadelo and provolone cheese sandwich. It was the best sandwich I have ever eaten and my husband and son also enjoyed theirs. The bread was soft and fresh and there was plenty of meat and other ingredients. We all ate half for lunch and half for dinner. It was plenty. Definitely our new sandwich shop.

I can’t get enough of this place!!! The subs are huge!!!! Might say 4” but it’s 6” wide so it more than makes up for it. The 8” is my go to size and if I don’t want to eat dinner the 12” is what I get. 12” long 6” wide sandwich, so amazing! All ingredients are fresh as well as bread is made fresh. This is a must if your a sandwich lover. I keep telling myself I am going to venture out and try something new this time and always end up getting the same sandwich I have been getting for the last 20 years. The wait can be long at times but they are very polite and tell you up front how long the wait will be. Closed on Sunday Monday which seems to be when I want them the most but other than that, hands down the best sand which shop I have ever been to in all the US.

This place is always great, totally recommend. Sandwiches are awesome. Only thing Ive ever had happen was earlier I was standing outside on the side of the building waiting for my sandwich and smoking (so I didnt bug anyone with my smoke) and the janitor came out and harassed me. One of the best sandwich shops in East County, you owe yourself a trip out youve never had it.They are always super busy, so order ahead by phone (no online ordering at the time of review), but good lord you will not regret your decision but eating here.Not only are is the food good, the portions are big enough to feed 1 really hungry person or 2 people splitting the meal.My favorite is the 28, Chicken Parmigiana. Ive only tried the double-decker BLT and its decent, but theyre really stingy with the bacon. There was more lettuce than bacon. When I ordered today I even asked for DOUBLE bacon, and there was still hardly any bacon. This is ridiculous to me, especially since I was charged for double bacon. The girl who took my order over the phone and helped me when I picked up my order wasnt very friendly at all and did not look like she wanted to be there. At least what bacon there was, wasnt overly crispy and tasted good. The potato salad is good, and so is the squaw bread. If they were friendlier and werent so stingy with the bacon, Id probably give them 5 stars. But if I order a double-decker BLT and its mostly bread and lettuce, theres a problem.

Found this hidden gem through the doordash app. The place looks rugged on the outside but it is choice within. Nice, clean, and populated by a wonderful staff. Excellent food! I was so pleased with my first experience I went back the next day. If you have the opportunity and the need to eat something better then the standard this is the place to go. I don’t know why I have waited to say no deli compares to this place. I have been coming here since Robinsons May was at parkway plaza which turned into Macy’s and now that’s gone. Me and my husband would come here once a week and if I could come everyday I would. Worth every penny and bite you take. I can not say which favorite I have since everything I have tried is absolutely mouth watering. From breakfast sandwiches to tuna, chicken salad sandwiches, turkey, Ruben, pastrami, meatball, roast beef all wonderful. Very excellent local business selling quality sandwiches made fresh. Ill give them a 4.5 star rating only because they do get busy and there is a shortish wait for your sandwich. Most sandwiches are in the $10 range and are hefty. Im on portion control so I order from the breakfast sandwich side and theyre about half size and price. Recommended if youre in this light industrial/ commercial zoned area. (Home Depot not too far away)

Its been a few years since Ive been into the deli but not a lot has changed the decor is still the same staff still reasonably friendly. now the place isnt an industrial area so be ready to deal with some traffic if you go during the week. And if you go at lunch launch our plan on being in line for about 30 to 40 minutes. The food was as good as always but the sandwich did seem a bit smaller which leads me to believe that they may have downsized on their portion. I was still satisfied with what I got for the money I spent forit, the only thing that bugs me was I didnt eat my pickle because it was hidden under the parchment.😭

This place is amazing! I’ve never been disappointed. My fiancé and I go here every Wednesday, I definitely recommend this place over Subway, Quiznos, and Jersey Mike’s. This is a must stop on our way north. My family has their favorites, but mine is always the pastrami sandwich. Sandwiches always delivered hot and full of flavor. Had a 4 inch sub which is not a typical narrow bread it is more square. It was about $9 and could have used more meat. The bread was soft, not like a crunchy sub bun usually is. Meats and cheese were sliced paper-thin with a good amount of lettuce, tiny bit of sliced onion and a tomato slice. They have a brisk lunch business so be prepared to wait if youre there on a weekday at lunch time.

I love this tiny hole in the wall sandwich deli. The first thing I noticed about this deli was the variety of different types of sandwiches they offer. I waited 45 minutes for 2 sandwiches. Everyone already had their food, so I thought it would be fairly quick. Everyone ate and left, but I was still there. The girl at the register seemed to get confused when she had to answer the phone and help someone picking up a phoned in order. Hands down my favorite deli in San Diego. They have great food at a great price and wonderful hospitality and customer service. Before my low carb eating habits kicked in I always got the deli club sub and it was delicious. Just as a disclaimer, Im from LA, which has an Italian deli that is pretty hard to beat (cavarettas).So, with that as a baseline, here is my review:First, my only gripe: they should offer the spicier variants of their cold cuts, and some dry coppa/sopressata would be a welcome addition.Also, be forewarned that these sandwiches are very wide. So 4 should be enough for anyone. 8 can feed two easily. The bread is indeed very fresh and light, as well as filling. High marks for that.My fault is not ordering mine with mustard. Im glad mayo is not on by default, but some mustard would have been a vast improvement. Again though, that one is on me.The restaurant itself is very clean, and very well run.
