Wow, probably the nicest and most honest mechanic Ive ever experienced. I happened to come across the place simply because my car was having issues nearby. I called and Fred told me exactly what to do before I even got to the shop. I arrived at the shop and Fred immediately helped, gave me coolant and oil without even charging me, I gave him 20$ anyway. He even told me the other issues Id need to fix with my car if I came in for a full tune up. Other car shops charge you 200$ just to tell you whats wrong. I even called Fred the next day when I was continuing to have a certain issue and he helped me out. Will DEFINITELY be coming back for a full service and all my future work! And telling all my friends about Fred and Antonios shop!

I am someone who has no idea how cars work or how I could fix my Jeep Grand Cherokee that I recently bought from the auction. Being 19 and having no car experience I went to auto zone for a report that came back and told me I needed a simple repair. I went to Antonio’s just for that repair and he told me honestly and genuinely that there was more to the issue. He was very genuine and got straight to the point. I accepted his help and I came back 15 minutes later and my car ran smoothly, no issues and free of charge. I can now smog and register my car and I am so grateful for his kindness. This man has real experience. He’s honest and it’s VERY hard to find kind and trustworthy mechanics these days. One thing I can say is I’m so happy I put my trust in this man and his company. Before taking my car to Antonio’s, I spoke with two other auto mechanics in Poway. Both of them tried to upsell me and charge more than what I needed. Antonio’s replaced my alternator for an excellent price. He was fast and efficient. I am grateful for his service and appreciate his honesty. Antonio has got to be one of the most genuine auto care professionals that I have ever come across. I brought my car in this week to have my air conditioning checked as it wasnt producing cold air, or almost any air for that matter. Antonio got me in the within an hour, had the problem fixed in 45 minutes and charged me a very reasonable price. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good mechanic!

A piece of my cute little Buick was dragging underneath and I had to be ghetto and duck tape the piece up. I called Antonio’s just to check if they were open and Freddy said yes come now and we’ll fix it right away I get there and waited maybe 7-10min and they fixed her! This mechanic was literally the most wholesome, honest man who only wants the best for his clients.Truly a blessing guys ✨. I’m in medical school, and he was very receptive understanding and assisted me with the best team and others he works with to troubleshoot the problems accordingly. I’m recommending him to all of my classmates and others in San Diego because a mechanic with integrity, an heart of gold and does inexpensive repairs is very hard to come by especially in the state of California. My starter was the area of focus and he corrected what the actual problem was! which corrected the overall diagnosis and cost! I don’t trust anyone else with my car anymore, he is now my go to mechanic! It’s amazing to have found someone who can find the ACTUAL issues that needs repairing! I’m writing this review tonight from the comfort of my bed… I start by saying that because I was stranded with my two daughters in a busy parking lot less then an hour ago. I ran out of gas (yes I’m that girl) how does that constitute a review for this business you may ask… well it was by grace that when running out of gas I was passed by my angle tonight Fred. Fred saw me and knew exactly what had happened which other Samaritans diagnosed my stupidity as a dead battery he pulled along side of me looked me dead in the eye and said “you run out gas?” To which the answer you already know. He pulled over and began to help me push my car clear across the parking lot to the gas pumps and we were not alone. Because of his kindness and leadership there was other samaritans that quickly jumped on board. From the time I ran out of gas to the time I was parked at the pump was about 8 min. Now he could have left it at that but no he didn’t he moved his car and came back to check on my and the girls stayed with me to make sure my car started and did it all with a smile on his face. Fred thank you for your kindness tonight. We should all aim to be like Fred.

Great Service!! I always go to him though I live a bit afar. Fred is very direct. Some times he has sent me back saying the brakes will go for another 6 months, easily. He optimizes your work and $$, has high integrity and extremely confident of what he says and does. I have always had a very good experience at Antonios Auto Care. I brought my car with a check engine light. Fred looked at it and told me that there was a recall and i should bring to the dealer for probably a free repair. I indicated my car was a 2007 and he said the recall is 15 years and 150K miles. He said it would be about $600+ for him to do it but i should try for the free approach with the dealer. Fred is ALWAYS very honest so i keep going back.

Having blown a water pump belt on the 15 freeway, I was desperate to get immediate help before my van crack its engine block from over heating. While going to Costco my car had a coolant leak that needed help right away, so I looked up on Google for a auto shop that has good reviews and ended up at Antonio’s Auto Care. Fred is amazing! He is very honest and wont sell you something you dont need. I went somewhere else and they were trying to charge me over 4000 for the repairs of my car Fred did the repairs plus some with more than half in savings. I checked 2 other places and price for brakes was comparable to other shops. I chose this place because it was close and had great reviews. Good and fast service. My only concern was I wasnt told they dont accept credit cards; they accept cash or debit only. Luckily I had the nearly $500 but I would have liked to have known before agreeing to the work. One word description? Honest.Armani was a fantastic mechanic who worked on my car and fixed my serpentine belt, AC compressor, and a couple of other odd-jobs. Being a guy who likes to learn how to do it myself, he was more than happy to risk losing my business by teaching me how and why he fixes a car the way he does. He wasn’t just fixing my car, he had the willingness to mentor me. One time I went in and he had a look at my car, did a quick fix and charged me nothing. He will treat you well if you are kind and courteous. He is a man of many languages, and he graduated a Canadian University with a degree in mechanical engineering, he is fair, brilliant, and there is a lot more to him than meets the eye. I had driven around and called all over town to find a place to do my daughters Mini Coopers oil change. No one would do it. I called Antonio’s and he kindly offered to help. When we showed up he was polite, professional and a very kind man. He checked out the car entirely, filled up all fluids, did the oil change and fixed one brake light. I bought my car used back in March of 2021, and after about 3 months of having it my brakes started to sound like metal grinding so I took a chance and tried Antonio’s auto care because it was the closest garage to where I was and I didn’t feel comfortable driving far, and I am very happy with the service I recieved. I believe it was Fred who helped me and was able to diagnose the problem and told me I needed new brake pads. I got my car back with the new brake pads less than 3 hours after I brought it in, and Fred didn’t try to sell me anything extra or rip me off which I appreciate (usually when I go to do things like get my oil changed at valvoline they try to upsell me) so I appreciate that he was honest with me and didn’t try to force me into a decision. I just came back yesterday because my AC has been making some strange sounds. Fred helped adjust something under my hood which significantly helped the problem free of charge and told me to come back if it persisted. I will definitely come back here for my routine maintenance my car needs as well as if anything major happens again. -grace christensen

Antonio is a seriously amazing person and I love coming here. Hes been able to do anything I ask for on my car. Hes cool with me using all my own parts. I highly recommend this auto shop! I was having an issue with my car on labor day, and Fred kept the shop open just to help me out. He was an incredibly nice guy, and was very honest. Went in about a week ago to get my spark plugs and coil replaced. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING experience. I rarely write reviews but I was beyond impressed with this place. I know absolutely nothing about cars so I usually get taken advantage of. These men take their time to physically show you and tell you everything they are doing and how much the parts will cost so there is no surprise about they price. Got a free diagnostics check for my battery & alternator. I initially went to autozone for a battery check and they told me the battery was good (which was wrong) and I needed to change my alternator.Called some mechanics who quoted me for 134 diagnostics fee, then called Antonio and he checked the battery and alternator for free and recommended I change the battery.All for Free! couldnt be happier, he saved me some money

If I could leave more than 5 stars I absolutely would!!! I went in very last minute because my brakes started grinding and they looked and the brakes were absolutely worn right down, metal against metal. I had my 2 little ones with me but decided to just get the brakes done and they made it comfortable for us to wait and they got my car right in. The vehicle, originally being from MI and a bit older, ended up having a lot of rust that caused it to be more difficult to remove the brakes and pads, and most mechanics would have charged for extra time to work on it,b not only did they not charge me extra, they got it done more quickly than I imagined and I was out the door driving safely on the roads again with my babies! Fred was the one who helped me out and I felt completely comfortable with trusting them and not feeling like they were trying to upsell or take advantage of a female that doesnt know much about cars. They are independently owned and I will ABSOLUTELY use them time and time again for any and all repairs needed!!!

I brought my vehicle in for a smog check and it did not pass. Fred was really helpful and nice. He answered my questions, explained some things that I was confused about and physically showed me why my car was not passing. It turns out that since I had just replaced my battery some of the monitors in the computer system needed to be reset. He told me that all i needed to do is drive a Drive Cycle, 30- 80 miles, then come back and he would check the system again. I drove about 60 - 70 miles and then came back. They retested my vehicle and Fred was right. It Passed. Besides the driving time that I had to put in, the process was very fast. I waited 10 -15 minutes for each test. I have had a noise coming from the rear left tire on my car for the past 3.5 yrs and have been multiple places to get it fixed. None were able to do so and I was left with an annoyingly loud squeak as Id drive down the road.After reading the reviews, I decided to visit Antonios to see if Fred could get the job done.Once I arrived, Fred was eager to hear my problems and put my car on the rack immediately. He asked me to stand right there with him while he worked on my car and explained everything he was doing. Within 30 mins, he had disassembled the entire rear assembly to check everything. He determined that the edges of the brake pads were the issue and did a quick grind on them. After putting the car back together, Fred sent me on a test drive and the noise was no more. When I asked for my bill, he said that there was no charge since he didnt make any major changes or additions to fix the problem.I got several of his business cards and intend to send all of my friends to him. I cant say enough about how nice it was to work with an honest, knowledgeable tech when having my car repaired.

This is the only fair and honest auto mechanic that I have been able to find in the area. They have been respectful and helpful on both my visits, to myself as well as the other customers I saw there. Another mechanic wanted close to $40 for a mere drain-and-fill oil change (with my already purchased oil, even!) Antonio, on the other hand, has never tried to upsell me or charge more than the work is worth. He even helped get around my schedule by flexing his hours somewhat. Highly recommended - this man deserves all the business he gets.

Stopped by here this morning for an urgent check. Three of the lights popped on suddenly at the same time including the check engine light. It scared me, a lady with zero knowledge of mechanics. Fred took care of me right away. He showed me the code of the problem and gave me very good advice. The lights all went off and I wont be panic anymore if the lights come back again. I came to Antonios Auto Care to get my vehicle smog tested as requested by the DMV. Fred and his Associates were very professional and hard working individuals.They began working on the smog test immediately and went through with great speed and ease. Within a very short and reasonable amount of time I had my smog test completed.My vehicle was unable to pass the entire smog test (Due to the fact that I had replaced the battery just the day before.) And Fred was very helpful in offering his advice and expertise to what needed to be done for me to fix the problem. He told me to drive the car around and come back, and he would check to see if it was ready to be smog checked.I followed his advice and drove around for a bit, and he checked the computer of the car to see if it was ready, and informed me it wasnt. He did this free of charge! He was even able to show me the device showing what he was looking for, and suggested that I try driving at least 100 more miles.After having done 100 miles, he checked the computer of the car one last time (Free of charge!) and found that finally the vehicle was completely ready for the smog test. And within a very short amount of time the smog test was completed and the car passed.A very nice shop with the latest equipment, and all of the workers are hard working people. I also learned that the shop and its associates are ASE certified. Very friendly and hard working group of people, I would recommend to anyone! Plus they are Trilingual!

I had a problem with my car cutting out and no/little power. Quick analysis and service. Problem was one of the two catalytic converters was clogged hence that cylinder bank was not able to exhaust appropriately.Fred is very courteous and trustworthy. Drove over a road dip at Pomerado & Rios which broke the oil pan. Saturday morning I noticed a lot of oil in the carport. I had an 8:30am meeting in Poway but then chose to stop by an auto shop beforehand to get an opinion and a solution. I arrived at Antonios Autocare at 7:55am at the same time as Matthew and Fred. No sooner had I parked and began relating the problem that Matthew was under the car saying what I suspected: the oil pan needed replacement. Matthew took a picture of the damaged pan with his cellphone to show me the white strips of concrete that had caused the damage.Fred said he had to order the pan for the Audi and that Id have to return Monday morning. Meanwhile 3 quarts of oil were added. They even gave me a folded box to place under the hood to absorb the dripping oil.This morning Fred called bright and early to say that the part had arrived. I went there at 10:30 am. Originally Fred said that someone would drive me home but instead, today, he said it would only take a couple of hours so I explored the nearby area, had a nice lunch across the street at a Vietnamese restaurant. Fred called during lunch saying the car was ready! Talk about efficient service!Fred and Matthew made what I perceived as an ordeal a lot more easier to handle. Both men are very personable and kind.Pricewise, I cant compare with others. I was at the point that I just wanted it done asap.But speaking with people in the know (men, for example-hahaha!) it appears to be reasonable, perhaps even lower than other places.At the end, there was a lot of handshaking and hugs. Car is purring, and so am I!!!You will be well-served at Antonios. Ask for Fred or Matthew.
