Visiting from England to see family and happened on this small Japanese take out restaurant. Food is fantastic and such a reasonable price. Service very polite and quick, we ended up returning as it was such a refreshing meal. Highly recommended and would definitely visit again next time we are in town.

Stopped by for a bite to eat on my way to Point Reyes and I was not disappointed. The prices were great for the portion sizes.The packaging was no frills and the presentation of the food gave me home-style cooking vibes rather than something formulaic from a restaurant. The restaurant seemed to be run by a husband and wife and the food reminded me of something my mom would make if I was at home.I would definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area!

First time trying this restaurant... Unfortunately not happy and I really wanted to like it! The rice and chicken ratio for their teriyaki chicken was 90% rice/10% chicken!The chicken was not fresh, it was reheated, the teriyaki sauce was almost like gelatin, very thick and clumpy!... And the worst part, there was a half fried wonton in there, wasnt sure if it was cut in half or half bitten! I had to throw half my food away! The couple who were working seem nice people, but Sorry folks, I will not go back!

There is one Japanese guy in here working. Great food and service. Takes him a little while because it’s just him, but great food. Highly recommend.

First time here, and ordered the Teriyaki Tofu box. Fresh and delicious. The tofu was just the right bit of crispy! The bento box usually come with 2 gyoza, but the owner had asked if I was vegetarian earlier and gave me avocado sushi instead. Really awesome service! Ill definitely be going here again!

We had two sushi to go. It was cut roughly, the rice seemed pretty old, and the portion size was a bit tiny. Not terrible but wouldn’t eat here again.

Exceptional experience! My family placed a large to-go order including 2 large bento boxes (you can double the portions for a few more dollars) and 3 sushi rolls. It was the perfect amount of food for our 4-person family. We watched the lovely couple make our entire meal and craft our sushi rolls. The quality and value were equally impressive. Highly recommend.

Beef type Sushi style rolls. Not your typical sushi with raw fish and specialty rolls. Although it is very good, the owner is extremely nice and often gives complimentary salads or something. Take out or a couple tables to eat in. Good deal and remember not your typical sushi rolls. But quality is excellent.

Love this place. Our go-to take out spot for vegetarian and seafood delights. We have tons of take-out spots in San Rafael, but Arigatou is #1 with us. A must for my daughter when she visits.The owner is always so friendly, and works very hard to make sure everything is perfect. Out favs are the Salmon Teriyaki, the Green Caterpillar, the California, the Unagi, and the Shrimp Dream. This review is making me hungry for Arigatou!.

Wonderful little place with great food! Very affordable, and very tasty. The people who work there are super friendly!Be aware when you go that this place doesnt really have almost any seating (I think they have one table?) Its more meant for take out or to-go. But you should certainly try it out!

Have been eating here for over fifteen years. Same nice Japanese couple run the place. Good Japanese food prepared fresh at fair prices. Because theyre so popular--especially around meal times--call your order in 30 mins ahead.

Poor guy running this biz solo. Beef is not seasoned well and over cooked. Gyoza is really cold and hardened; which I believe its been waiting for me since this morning. Rice is under cooked. Food portion is small given the price $15 (plus tip). I totally support local biz; but come on, you can do better then that. Nevertheless, hope his wife will be back. I will give it another try just to support locals.

This is my go to for nights I dont want to cook. The couple that work here are always so nice and the food is great. Love to get the katsudon, but Ive also had the bento box with katsu and with salmon teriyaki, which are also great. Ordering ahead is always so simple. Just tell them what you want and theyll have it ready by the time you get there.

The food here is great - features bento boxes and sushi.. Hardest working man in Marin. Give it about twenty minutes after you call in an order.I havent tried the sushi, apart from the veggie rolls and these are pretty good.Teriyaki bento boxes come with gyoza. Vegetarians note that these are not vegetarian.Very good value!

Mr. Arigatou is the best person in the world. He prepared everything by himself, and we had one of the best conversations about Japanese culture while waiting. He is so kind, sweet, generous, and super hard-working. The teriyaki chicken is so umami that I just couldnt stop wanting more. The steam Japanese rice is of perfect texture and moisture. The gyoza seems to be deep fried and they are crunchy and simply delicious. This place deserves to be loved and returned to. I hope this nice little store stays here for ever.

When I first walked in the smell of something rotten was immediately apparent. I noticed that the man who works at this place does not wear gloves. He handled money and then “rinsed” his hands for a few seconds under water and then packaged my sushi with his bare hands. Seems very unclean. The food made me ill.

A whole in the wall family operation with low priced Japanese food. No tuna and somewhat narrow menu with some good bento boxes. But relative to the price what you do get is fantastic. Their Katsu is also glorious.

The salmon teriyaki bentoo was very fresh and delicious. I had it with brown rice and it was yummmy!!! I found it as I was driving by. I didnt expect it to be so delicious. I will definitely go again!

The owner is Japanese! He is a very hard worker! The bento is delicious! It has a good reputation locally! The owner is also very personable!
