Ordered via Postmates, and ingredients were lacking quality. Fish wasn’t fresh and you could taste the oil from the tempura on the crunchy roll.

Today felt like sushi day, found this the other day while looking for a new juice bar very quiet street, I past it a few times without even noticing. Well I only post if I’m impressed the quality of the sushi was better than most of the upscale sushi restaurants I’ve been too. I’m giving it a 4 stars just because the service wasn’t great and they didn’t have adequate temp it’s been a hot summer and a fan isn’t efficient. I was a bit uncomfortable. But the meal itself speaks volumes big portions big lunch menu a good pick up take out for next time.

If you are looking for an affordable sushi spot then this place might be of interest to you. You can get 3 rolls for $15. Asakuma’s specialty rolls are slightly cheaper then most, and the portions will satisfy most for the price. This might sound like an absolute steal, but once you try it, you can tell the quality is lacking.I have given this place 3 chances. All of which were pick up orders so I will be somewhat lenient.Sushi is one of my favorite cuisines. I usually finish my plate and wish I had more. That was not the case for Asakuma. 2 out of my 3 times ordering here I could not finish my plate simply due to quality of fish. That said, there are some items worth trying. Here’s what I would and wouldn’t recommend:Avoid their basic cut rolls - The spicy tuna roll and California roll, two staple rolls in most US sushi restaurants were let downs here. They over pack the imitation carb, and the tuna is over mixed in sauce.Avocado - Don’t be surprised if the avocado on your roll is hard. I ordered the eel and avocado roll and I had to remove the avocado as it almost rock had.Specialty rolls to try - The king lobster roll (minus asparagus) was really good! I highly recommend. The crunch roll and Snow White roll both tasted good and are worth a try if your new to this place.Overall, I was not “wowed” by anything on the menu at Asakuma. That said, the price is definitely enticing if you are looking for a cheap sushi spot. Keep in mind I have not eaten at the physical restaurant, so your experience may be different if you choose to eat there.I wouldn’t expect this place to be a mainstay to your sushi restaurant rotation unless you are ok with subpar sushi for a fair price.

Food was done quickly. But the QUALITY was lacking. Rolls did not taste fresh. Baked rolls had ZERO presentation. Looked more like Tex-Mex mush. Miso soup was mainly all broth...can I please get some ToFu in my Miso soup? Disappointed for the price we paid for.

I love asakuma!! Their sushi is very fresh and made to order. Their lunch specials are all big portions and very reasonable price. Lunch specials for weekend, too! Thats a big plus!! Brown rice options and delivery services available. Everything is so good! Highly recommend to all!!

Had the most dissatisfying delivery from them. Expected more from a restaurant in Beverly Hills. The agedashi tofu was missing the tsuyu dipping sauce, which literally gives the dish any flavor. Without it, I just have flavorless fried tofu. Then the Venice Roll came completely deep fried. The fish was 100% cooked. The fish was not fresh. It’s extremely misleading and confusing in the description because it says “whole tempura” which I thought there was tempura inside. Photo next to this roll was fresh! Not fried! Will not be ordering from this spot.

Very nice staff. Texture of the sushi is incredible. Soft rice. Great food. Ambiance is not Beverly Hills type, but I really dont care. Its clean. Ill be coming back often.

My coworker told me great things about Asakuma and I went there.I really loved their lunch rolls combo. Came with 3 different rolls, miso soup and green salad and only $11.95. I couldnt finish eating everything because the portion was huge! I also ordered Organic Brown Rice Vegetable Roll for my late snack, It was so yummy and fresh, too!I didnt know that Asakuma exists since 1985, thats a long time!!!I cant wait to go back and try different sushi menus.Its always so fun to see Lamborghini on the way back to my office, since Asakuma is located right next to it! Highly recommend Asakuma for everyone.They have neighbor appreciation sale until the end of April. its very nice of them!!

Awful service. My family and I were not greeted and did not receive menus from the hostess upon arrival. We had to ask for very standard items like plates and were never checked on. I was going to ask for an extra plate when I noticed the hostess (the only employee) wasn’t around. I got up and looked through the kitchen window and saw that she and the chef were having lunch. Totally unacceptable and unimaginable service from a restaurant in Beverly Hills.

I went to Asakuma for the first time after I saw their Facebook page. They gave me a free spicy salmon skin topping for my lunch green salad.Their spicy tuna is super delicious. Very nice place!

I enjoyed a lovely meal here today and stumbled across this place on the way home. Ordered the black cod, came with miso soup rice and salad and for around $20 ! Did not disappoint and took me back to my nobu dining days in London. Thank you Asakuma!
