2023-04-11 02:33:51We went to try the newer restaurant, Asia Village in Lakeport. The restaurant is really clean and the owner, Simon, greeted us and waited on us. He has been running restaurants for 40 years in the bay area. We ordered vegetarian spring rolls, the salmon bento, shrimp chow mein and beef chowmein. The bento comes with so much food, soup, salad plus gyoza, tempura shrimp, rice, seaweed salad, and the salmon. Simon was kind enough bring everyone at the table some soup as a starter. I asked if there was a vegetarian soup option, and he easily accommodated. I also asked if he planed to have more vegetarian options and he said they can easily accomodate dietary restrictions right now, just ask. He also plans to expand the menu, but is just working through some food sourcing. All of it was delicious and we will definitely go back.We learned that Simon is still working out staffing issues, because he could not bring some of his staff from the Bay Area up here. We also learned that he will be starting up sushi here soon and he plans to have dim sum and hot pot in the fall. Asia Village offers take out if you dont have time for a sit down. I will also say that they do have beef, chicken and shrimp chow mein as a regular option on the menu. There is also a summer menu with some sandwiches (picture below). I took a picture of my bento box (one of gyoza was already snagged and normally there are 3) and my moms shrimp chow mien (half eaten because I forgot to snap a picture before everyone dug in).I hope everyone comes out to support this great new restaurant so that we can keep it around.

2023-04-05 23:48:06This place is a diner style place, not a fancy sit down dinner spot, but it is good Asian style food. They call themselves Asian Fusion, which seems about right to me. All the food was very fresh and well prepared. The salmon teriyaki was very moist and tender, cooked perfectly and the teriyaki sauce was not excessive.

2023-03-11 03:33:17I am very excited that chef Simon Lau founder of Café 1997 in San Jose has opened Asia Village in Lakeport! We stopped off for an early dinner tonight and enjoy some of the best beef teriyaki that we have ever had. My wife and I each ordered the teriyaki bento box. The beef was exceptionally tender and delicious, the Gyoza was perfectly cooked with a nice crispy texture on the outside and very tasty. It was a great experience, and we look forward to visiting chef Simon again soon.

2023-05-04 17:42:51Read some of the reviews, had a mixed impression and decided to try myself and Im so glad I did. I got the Hong Kong curry, the seasoning was perfect, the veggies were delicious, not saggy, nice and crunchy. The chef was super nice and he has some delicious teas that goes perfectly with the food. It was a delight and the decoration of the place does bring some Asia feel. I took out a star because i agree with a previous review that some of the beef pieces were chewy. Still the food was so delicious i clear my plate and will go there again when Im in town.

2023-02-04 01:55:43The food was so delicious. Im so excited to have this open in Lake County. The service was to par and I cant believe how yummy 🤤 there food was. We had deep fried shrimp which was golden brown, light and crispy. The dipping sauce was delicious. We had these pot stickers which were sooo delicious and the flavor was bomb. I have to say these are the best ones I tried in Lake County. The Indian pan cakes were mouth watering in the curry sauce it came to dip in. Lastly we had ramen and just believe me it had all kinds of items in it, egg, sliced thin pork, veggies etc. It was fantastic and warm me up. Thanks for a wonderful dinner and great customer service. I will definitely be back. And highly recommend to everyone. This restaurant doesnt disappoint. And the main thing is the food was hot, and service was fast. The chef personally came out to answer our questions about the different ramen.. And lastly, the place is clean and nicely decorated. The the huge round paper lanterns were beautiful.

2023-02-04 04:48:31I went to this restaurant for my Birthday. I was so excited that they served Philippino food. I was horrified! The chicken tasted old and tasted freezer burnt. The beef in my husbands dish was like hard rubber and couldnt be eaten. I sent my chicken back and they offered me another dish. It took so long and my husband couldnt chew the rubbery meat so we requested the tab and told them to forget the 2nd dish that replaced my 1st dish. They charged us for all of the dishes... the one that was sent back and the one that I told them not to bring since it took forever. They shouldnt have even charged for my husbands either since he couldnt eat it. Waitress told us we were charged because we ordered it and took a bite so we should pay even if it tasted old and bad and the chef made the other dish even if I didnt want it! We paid for the horrible meal, left hungry and out quite a bit of money for NOTHING!! BAD FOOD, HORRIBLE SERVICE! WE WILL NEVER GO BACK! EVER!

2023-04-28 17:24:14We had the tempura shrimp and tempura vegetables. It was the absolute hands down the WORST tempura I have ever had. The prices are very expensive. You dont get any other items with your meal. It cost over $80.00 for 12 small shrimp and and a few soggy vegetables. The worst. I Will never go back.

2023-01-29 11:15:05When I heard that Wilbert Vasquez, a young man that I had the pleasure to work with in the kitchen at Adventist Health, was a chef at the Asia Village, I was excited for him. I wanted to show my support! I made the trek from Spring Valley to the Asia Village in Lakeport. Wilbert, cheffing for Jessie, will make his his mark on Lake County. As in much of the Filipine food Ive consumed over the years, lol, so much Filipine food! The cuisine has a heavy Cantonese influence, but stands out in its Filipine diversity, spot on with the right amount of salty, sweet and sour profile. The restaurant itself, was nicely appointed, clean and welcoming. There was a little bit of a wait for dinner, but the servers were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. As Wilbert settles into his role, it will only get better!

2023-05-21 00:55:10Had delivery and it was surprisingly quick and the food came hot! However the quality of the food was soooooooo disappointing for what it cost. I have never left a review before this. I guess all I have to say is use caution!
