Stopped here after backpacking in Klamath. Very filling and delicious! We shared a combo plate with extra rice and a refreshing Thai tea. Sat outside with a view of Shasta. Owner was very friendly and food was great! Would stop again next time I’m in Weed.

Stopped on Weed just to get this BBQ. Super excited. Pulled in and was told we needed to sanitize our hands before entering. OkLooked at the menu and it looked fabulous! We ordered 2 combo plates with rice and pork dumplings. Cranky man said dumplings take a long time. That’s ok, we’re not in a hurry.Order was placed and paid and we were told to go outside. Too crowded inside for our 4 people. Ok!Got ourselves drinks from our cooler and got an outside table. Went to pick up our food and a guy at the inside table said to make sure to try the hot sauce so we asked for extra. Owner said no! You already got some…. OkStarted eating our meal and owner asked if everything was ok. Yup! He asked if we wanted more hot sauce….. um, ya!!!He came out with a smile, gave us tons of hot sauce and extra napkins.Bbq was fantastic, rice was dry. You’d think it would be perfect, right?So 4 stars for food, 3 service and 3 atmosphere since we were forced to eat outside.

My pork tips, rice, and iced tea tasted like something Id find at a vibrant street market in East-Asia. The only guy working here (on a Sunday) was doing his absolute best to cater to a lunch crowd and despite the wait, he never lost a soul. The only point Id take away from the business is that we had to sit outside in the windy shadow of Mt. Shasta- obviously could have been worse. And guy was clearly trying to avoid another sickness with his hand sanitizers out and all.Id totally eat here again.

The owner was really rude but thats just his attitude. Glad he is clean and makes everybody sanitize but needs to really work on his proportions of food and the quality of the meat. As you can tell 22 a plate for just fat and rice. Thats crazy. If I didnt live so far away I would have really went back. If youre just looking for a quick bite, maybe the burrito but anything else regarding beef sucks too much fat, not enough real meat or cut

Wow! Food was just as GREAT as there service. Flavor was just amazing and the BBQ, a bit spicy but worth the kick. To think I’ve driven passed so many times and never stopped.Don’t be like me and pass up this place. Treat your taste buds to some amazing BBQ. Thank you guys for the great tasting food. Wish I had a photo but I ate it so fast... this family BBQ has chicken, pork and beef. Most meals have jasmine rice and they make and sell their own sauce. You order outside. Each order takes about 15 minutes. When its ready you sanitize hands ✋ enter and pay. Also offer cold canned soda. Back again for pulled pork and rice. Ordering still takes place outside. Bought a bottle of the homemade sauce for home, looking forward to seeing what I can do with it.

Depends on who you get?The Asian lady - eh - she could care less, very casual, mellow, quirky funny.The Asian grill master - nice down to earth guy, will let smoke everything he has cooked..Lots of grill pits and smokers out front.Inside is pretty basic, no frills.Asian rock music playing in the background.The food is slow smoke cooked all day and delicious.You can’t go wrong with any of these choices.We got the beef, buffalo chicken and pork and also the brisket.Yum!

Would always go to the place when I was up in Weed. Worked at hi-lo and going to the bbq place i would always order the pho (aka the soup) It was always so good and made me so full! I could never finish it. This place is one of my core memories. The owner and everyone who works there is the best! Thank you for making my experience amazing

This is bbq joint is hands down the best bbq we have ever had, the wood smoked flavor on all the meats is incredible, the charcoal finish is at an artesian a level. Also the owners are so kind and welcoming! If you’re passing through weed this is a must “stop and eat” every time!

Place is dirty, food was very very dry. They make you sit outside in the heat when the inside is completely empty. Very unfriendly. Im pretty sure my dumpling were just store bought and then barbecued. I understand bbq has some char on it but everything was so charred I couldnt tell what I was trying to eat. The chicken,pork and beef all looked the same and I could tell that it wasnt cooked that day. They were not busy at all and food took 30 minutes, and I didnt hear a phone ring once so they cant make the excuse of lots of call ins.

Really tasty place. Not necessarily a cheap eat, but is anything these days??The owner is a super nice guy, makes amazing meats on the grill in front. Everything is cooked on oakwood and tastes incredible.We had the steak sandwiches and they were top notch. Highly recommend! Also the view of Shastina from the front is pretty amazing.

Incredibly good food! Stopped in for a quick meal while trying to avoid the basic fast food scene! Had the barbecue pork sandwich and wow! Nice spice and flavor! Atmosphere is not great but the food makes it a “come back again” place!

Fantastic! Got the Beef steak sandwich and it was amazing. Had a good spiciness to it and was huge! Steak had amazing flavor. Staff was friendly. Its a great hole-in-the-wall place and hope to visit again!

Really great spot. I wouldn’t call it the best bbq necessarily, but for what they’re doing it’s pretty tasty. The ribs were alright but the real star of the show is the larb. Prices are a little steep but the food is filling. Service is slow but I don’t blame them considering they’re cooking your food and taking your order and packing it up and ringing it in. It took 20 min for our food to be ready but we just walked through the little downtown stretch and by the time we returned it was ready.

To echo other reviews, the atmosphere is slightly off putting, but the food is DELICIOUS. Well worth the price, and easily the best food in all of Weed. Both my friend and I got the #7 and we were both very impressed. The Thai iced coffee was also very tasty and refreshing. Overall highly recommended.

Seasoned and smoked to perfection with Shasta towering in the background!Expect a little wait, possibly order ahead. We were heading back from an oregon ski trip and took the time to stretch and enjoy weeds magnificent Shasta views. But the wait is definitely worth every minute!Grab some extra for your special someone or else you wont be able to tell them where you ate without feeling guilty.

Best bbq in weed indeed! Half a rack of pork loin back ribs, i sprinkled with cayenne pepper, dip the charred bits in a bit of soy sauce - oy muy bueno. And the owners have the best biggest smiles :)

This is some of the best BBQ Ive had in a long time. Fair warning: no indoor seating, you may or may not have to wait, its definitely a hole in wall, and... If you think mayonnaise is too spicy, then this is not for you. The chef takes pride in his cooking, knows his meat, and provides a quality food experience.We got pork tips with rice and beef steak noodle soup. My goodness they were both delicious and gone very quickly. Will return, and salivating thinking of it.

Great food and great price, this place is well worth the wait of over an hour(disclaimer:you most likely wont have to wait that long). This is a family owned restraunt with 7 years under its belt, it serves real smoked BBQ from two smokers, not that fast food junk! My four complaints(that did not affect rating since the food was great and redeemed any complaints I had);The sauce on the rice is too spicey for me(my mouth is very sensitive so take that with a grain of salt), the wait time was a little bit long(2 employees and again, real BBQ), the heating took forever to kick in(it was cold that day. The AC works just fine appearently) and the aethstetics are a bit of a drag(the entire building was too small to do anything about that though.) Well worth your time and money, so if you come by, have a bite!

This was my first time coming to this area and to this restaurant. My stomach wasnt doing too well after eating hot dogs and fries. I wanted soup... So I went and they were busy. I waited and ordered. I was the last person to order. I ordered the pho soup.IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! I loved it! They do charge an extra dollar for takeout. The container is reusable and they tell you that right when you ask for it. They also instruct you to eat it within 30 minutes of receiving it. They were so nice and funny. I seriously loved it. It had beef for every single bite. This is going to be my go to dinner whenever I come here for work! It also helped my stomach issues and i am doing a small happy dance with every bite i take!

It took quite awhile to get the food. People that ordered after us got their BBQ first... The food was not great. Not like really bad. It was very spicy also. Did not get sick from the food. We asked of we could add a seaweed salad to our order and they refused to let us add it to our food. I will not return in the bear future.

This was our first visit. We will NOT return. The meat...chicken was way dry and tough to eat. All of the meat was hot to eat in flavor and spices. You couldnt even really taste the meat. It cost $22 for 3 meats and rice. It was in a small to go container, so the serving size was very small for the cost. We were told the pork rib had bone, but all the meats were chopped up and mixed together, so you couldnt tell the meats apart. All you get with the meat is rice and that was very dry and hard. Rather disappointed!!

While we were driving to our motel room, we passed this place and the smells coming from their BBQ was enticing and smelled delicious! So we decided to try it.My wife and I both got the tri tip meals..I got the tri tip sandwich and she got the tri tip meal with rice.We found that this place is a favorite with the locals...and for good reason! The food was Amazing and very delicious....highly RECOMMENDED..a bit of a wait but WELL WORTH IT! YOU will NOT be disappointed!

WOW. This place is absolutely amazing. Owners are friendly and down to earth, you can tell they take pride in their cooking.I got the pork belly and rice plate. Pork belly was barbequed to perfection, juicy and crisp on the outside with a sweet sauce. I admit it, when I first walked in I was doubtful. Judging from the initial reaction of several customers, Im not the only one! The lady of the restaurant was sitting in the dining room eating with her bare hands out of a to-go container. With her mouth full, she asked what we wanted and started talking about the food options. But because it was so highly reviewed, we stuck with it and Im glad we did. I got the combo plate (chicken, beef and pork) because I wanted to try their range of flavors. Its BBQ, not fast food, but worth the wait. All three were excellent, well spiced, full flavor and not even too salty. The pork was a little fatty (had to leave some behind) but that happens. In the end it was a good experience and Im glad we stuck around.

I stopped here for lunch about noon because I could smell the bbq out front, knew they were open. I ordered a pork sandwich, the guy said it would be 15 minutes. There was only 1 person in front of me. After I ordered about 10 people came. There is no dining in, just a few tables or in the sun with a chair here and there. It wound up taking 30 minutes for my sandwich. They only have rice as a side. no fries. For just my sandwich it was $17.50 with tax. It was 85% bread and 15% tiny pork pieces with onion. I was really disappointed. The pork had an OK flavor but ran into too many fatty hard chunks. Other items must be better?

Eating here was an absolute highlight of my life! Caught in an evening snow storm, without cell service, very hungary, and no foreseeable end, we started to smell bbq heaven as we passed Weed, CA. We pulled off to see the lonely little shop and stopped for a look. We were warmly great by the owners who were cleaning up for the night. They piled a plate together for us and sat down to share stories over a meal. Wonderful people and easily one of the most delicious meals I have ever had!

Very sanitary, mask required (of course due to covid-19) and made sure you sanitized before you walk in and made sure I sanitized as I exited.I was originally going to order the Beef Learn Salad but the gentleman saw that I was not from around here and was just heading through and recommended me the bbq beef w rice because it would be faster to serve. Friendly service. The chef and owner made us feel as if we were guest at his house. The staff gave us good recommendations and the pork baby back ribs were amazing. The pork ribs had amazing texture, crispy on the outside and moist in the inside. The ribs had a nice smokey flavor and the marinade was flavored perfectly, slightly sweet and not overwhelming. The tri tip was really moist with good smokey flavor. The chili sauce tasted like home made Sriracha. Amazing stuff. Overall a great dining experience and worth a stop.

We were going to eat at this place. The smells coming from it were amazing. The service however… was horrible. The people who owned it (I guess) were extremely rude. They did not take our order AT ALL. We waited for several minutes and never got even acknowledged again. So we left. Never again.

We stopped here for a late lunch and we ordered PHO soup and it was absolutely delicious. The owner was working all alone and had to manage the entire restaurant which is small with outdoor seating. And he did a wonderful job I hope if you like spicey hot Asian soup give him a try. Everything he served looked delicious. I wish we had time to return for another meal.

Great restaurant. The food is a nice fusion of Asian and American (Asian spices/cuts cooked American BBQ style), while the service, decor, and atmosphere feel VERY Asian. Aesthetically speaking, it would not be out of place as a hole-in-the-wall street food restaurant in Southeast Asia. Its very simple, a bit dirty/dingy, prices are good, and the service is very in-your-face, as the owner takes no sh*t and does not suffer fools (see the indignant one-star reviews as proof). As for me, I loved it, and I plan on stopping here whenever Im back in Weed.

Staying at the motel down the street. The owner gave me the recommendation. It takes a few minutes to get your food but its worth it. Just stopped in there parking lot was gonna go in get some food.. owner comes out to our trucks cause we had campers and demanded us to leave that it was private property. we wasnt there 5 min and hes out telling us to leave. wow great customer service. and I hope the owner see s this post cause he was even in the phone getting our tag numbers and everything.. me and my friend was in shock didnt really know what to say.. and it was raining just to jog your memory. I try to eat at the mom and pop places but this one was a joke.. as you read the reviews on this place it sounds like hes high on his food... with all that money you should clean your dump of a place up

This spot is the BOMB! Food on POINT. Owner and nephew are welcoming and personable. We are vacationing from Santa Cruz and went two nights in a row. I was surprised that my kids ages 10, 8, 5 and 2 devoured the ribs..rib after rib after rib.Also, the covid protocol they adhere to is exceptional...one household at a time and patrons must sanitize prior to entry. I found this comforting as some of the places Ive been in at Weed dont enforce mask wearing.

I ordered the #4 combo meat meal. Chicken, beef and pork with rice. I really enjoyed it and ate the whole thing, which 2 people could share easily, especially since its $17. I would have given 5 stars if the building and outside area were a bit nicer, its pretty run down but it definitely is a diamond in the rough and very glad I stopped in. I will return whenever driving through Weed.

We had a mixed plate of bbq meat, which was amazing especially with the spicy sauce he gave us.I had an iced coffee which was much sweeter than others Ive had, really good but more of a treat than a coffee.

Our extended family (party of 10 adults and 5 kids) was heading back to SoCal from Oregon when my brother suggested we stop. The owner was very nice and suggested we let him handle the order since it was a large party. The type and portions of meat and side dish was perfect. The Thai papaya salad complemented the meat (BBQ ribs, Beef brisket and chicken). We would highly recommend the Asian American BBQ.

They where sold out of all vegetables. Two day old dried out rice. BBQ is precooked and just reheated. Sauce is bomb though. They should just sell sauce...and boba. Guy working was cranky, messed up my order and another customers too.

Food was inedible. Meat was like chewing on a tire. When I brought it back, the guy was kind of a jerk. I am a local and most places would want to earn their business, especially in a small town. Not really surprised though. I heard mixed reviews and now I know why. Really shocked at their behavior on the whole thing. Never been to restaurant that acted like that. I will never go back.

Stopped in on way back to Canada. The owners were super friendly and impressed that my kids could eat the spicy sauce! They cooked the meat to perfection on the outdoor grill which I thought was pretty cool.Heard some pretty cool stories of the fire that ran through the town by a young local.A must stop if driving the i5 through N.california.

Accidently got off the wrong exit, but saw the bbq going and stopped by.He only had 1/2 chicken and so we got that.The chicken was perfect and with a bit of sweet/sour sauce.Great taste and didnt take too long.Safe (taking safety precautions) and friendly staff.If you pass through, stop by!!!

Customer service has great. owner helped us order our food and we were not disappointed. Food has it’s unique flavor cooked to perfection. Had to take some food TO-GO that’s how good it was. Came in for the first time to try their barbecue..I had chicken & my husband had ribs..both meals were excellent! Chicken was moist, hubbys ribs were tender, & the barbecue sauce was flavorful..we will come back again.

Dont judge this place based on its looks. The food is amazing. Beautifully succulent meat combined with the most jaw dropping Thai sweet marinade. Unpleasant staff. was rude, to aggressive and had a serial killer look in his eye. he told me it would be a 15 min wait that turned into a 45 in wait. his tone changed very fast once a girl came in and made sure she was waited on hand and foot. i think he has some things going on towards men. never will go there again. food was so so. to much bread not enough meat for the price.

Its an experience I look forward to when I visit my dad in Shasta. This is a little joint, that looks like a thrown together BBQ place, will confuse new customers. Theres no fake smiles and, Hi, welcome to... Its perfect. No bs. Just amazing BBQ and mom and pop atmosphere. The steak was amazing and sause is like none Ive ever tried. My preference is the chicken, and the half chicken and rice lasted me two meals of juicy BBQ flavor. Highly recommended. Just leave I-5 and stop in if you travel, its worth the wait and cost. Theres also Pho and tea.

If i could give this place negative stars; i would in a heartbeat. Went in on October 6th, 2018.Not only did they attempt to overcharge me for 4 small cups of sauce, but they gave me back a 5$ bill that was missing serial numbers, so that it is no longer american currency and cannot be accepted by other places. i had to argue with both owners at 7 months pregnant just to receive the CORRECT amount of change, then was given a 5$ bill back that the owner took out of her pocket, and folded so i wouldnt realize it was ripped. after that, they refused to exchange it, denying they gave it to me.Not only that, but they switch their prices every single time, there are flies surrounding the food, and the meat is cooked days prior, taken our of the fridge; then reheated.this is the worst service; worst place; and worse experience ive ever had with a family owned restaurant. Have since contacted the Board of Health, and they will be conducting an investigation in the near future.Save yourself the trouble and go to Hi-Lo; where youre treated like a human being and not a person to rip off. As a local in Weed, this is truly irritating and a terrible way to conduct a business. Hopefully they get closed down when the health inspector shows up.I even have pictures of the 5$ bill they gave me back. Mind you the owners wife grabbed the 5 out of her apron, not even the register, and handed it to me folded so i wouldnt see the serial numbers missing.TERRIBLE place; do not advise anyone to ever go eat there; again just save yourself the hassle and go to Hi-Lo. The food there is much better anyways.They expected me not to say anything, because i usually havent in the past, but this was the last straw. This is not the first time theyve tried to rip me off; however it will be the last.to the owner; I have sent the picture of the 5$ your wife gave me, taken in your parking lot moments after i walked away; to the bank as well; and they will be contacting you as this is illegal. as well as the board of health for your disgusting food practices. She knew exactly what she was doing. My father has been a chef his whole life, and worked in 5 star places such as the Raddison hotel; and even he was upset. truly despicable. You should honestly be ashamed. You have no clue how to run a business and i cannot wait for the day that you get a random visit form the Board of Health!!!And you can claim im making up stories like you did to everyone else on here whose given you a bad review; but we all know the truth. Delicious barbecue and authentic spiced Thai soup! The atmosphere is bare bones but we sat outside with a view of Mt. Shasta and enjoyed the food. They even gave our dog a pork bone to chew while we ate by the BBQ smokers.

I am a local and used to live just a few streets over from Asian American Bbq. I can say that I have eaten there at least 20 times and it’s always consistently amazing food. The owners have become a friend of mine and have always provided great service. The bbq is always perfectly cooked and the the sauce is tangy and spicy. This is hands down the best bbq spot in Siskiyou county!

By far, the best Tri-Tip Sandwich I’ve ever had. Stopped in here on a whim on the way to Washington and I will go out of my way in the future to stop by here on future road trips. What an awesome new discovery!!! Chicago transplants Thomas and Sim provide a wonderful Thai fusion twist on the BBQ standard. Delicious food, friendly service, homemade hot sauce (tasted like the best BBQ sauce Ive ever had!), tri-tip steak, smoky-grilled tilapia, oh, joy! Followed by a creamy dish of vanilla ice cream to soothe the fire from all the hot sauce we couldnt resist eating. (AND we bought a bottle to take with us. :)) Best restaurant in Weed!!!
