Averill Park in San Pedro

LOVE LOVE LOVE this park. Everything is perfect! Very quiet and peaceful with lots of greens and shades. There is a waterfall where it beautifully falls into a pond that runs through the park. Just standing there and listening to the sound of the water slowly flowing and the birds chirping in the background....thats the best thing ever on a Sunday morning! We also spotted ducks, geese, and turtles along the trails we walked. The park is pretty big but they have the signs up throughout the park telling you where to go so you wont get lost. There are a lot of picnic settings inside the park and most of them are under the shades. There are some big open area in the back where you can see big palm trees, some blooming roses and some other nice plants and flowers. It also overlooks Port of Los Angeles from far too. We spent more than 2 hours here today and it was our first time. We really enjoyed the park and we do really appreciate that the people and the city have kept the park very clean and maintained its beauty. I will say...this is a hidden gem of San Pedro. I will definitely go back there again before this Summer ends.

This is our furry baby girls favorite park! It truly has a wonderful natural environment including tall & very large matured trees, various bushes and lots of flowering trees and plants, serene stream and decent sized ponds for birds and many other species, gently undulating large grassy areas, many sections offering different settings of photogenic sceneries, good views of eastern terrain and mountains from the top of the hill area, etc... This park offers a true oasis in urban residential area surrounded by lots of cute and beautiful houses, beautiful treelined streets, and always open, airy, welcoming atmosphere.You can park your car along the outskirt of the park on the curb, you can picnic, BBQ, Weddings and parties, or just walk and play with your dogs... Overall, anytime you can just come here and sit on the beautifully maintained grasses and relaxed.

Such a beautiful place to get fresh air and take photos. Lush greenery to soothe the soul. 😍 Dont forget to wear shoes- there are many hills and uneven pavement.

A beautiful place people are nice & for someone like me the trees are amazing to look at, I dont know how old they are but they look to be almost 100 years old just amazing!Restrooms are clean & lots of room to enjoy your family awesome place to walk around & explore water like pond areas I didnt see any dogs or people fishing but still amazing.

Gorgeous park with lots of live habitat. The paths are pretty steep and lots of the pavement is cracked. Wear some good arch supporting shoes and take a walk !

Wonderful park in San Pedro. It has an old school charm. Meandering pathways under old beautiful trees. A decorative waterfall feature that leads to a lovely stream. Fun for kids to see ducks and turtles. I hadn’t been to this park in years - and it was lovely.

Beautiful little park with a pond and even a waterfall, some small hills, and big green space to play, chill and enjoy. There are a few paved walking paths and lots of shade as well.Restrooms are located in the center of the park on a little hill.

Wonderful park. It has everything - waterfalls, a stream, a pond, a bridge, a rose garden with a gazebo and ducks. Pretty.Only downside of it is that because it is so pretty that many people come here and want to take photos. So, it gets quite crowded. I mean, literally there was a traffic jam on the bridge when I was there.It is quite spacious and has a lot of tall, large trees. Plenty of shade. It is a perfect place to cool down on a hot day. Or night.
