Front desk reception was rude at check-in. Our room also had ants in it and a heavy layer of room freshener sprayed all over it.Overall the room did what it needed to do, but we’ve been to similar priced, or even cheaper, hotels that delivered a better experience.
Hard to rate. It’s not a 5 star hotel, but comparable to other Marriott Courtyards, and the other small versions of the other name brand hotels.The room was clean. However walking into a hot room on a hot summer day isn’t the best. They didn’t have the AC on, which was one of the under the window ones so it took a little while to cool off.The pool was nice and the view at the top of the hill it’s on is unique for the area. Location off the 241 is convenient.The customer service was “fine.” None of the staff were necessarily unfriendly, but no one seemed to desire to make us feel welcome, persay, so we don’t feel right in rating them too high. We got checked in and out without issues, just nothing worthy of raving about or necessarily complaining about.We could see ourselves staying here again for price and location to family in the area, but would be interested in seeing whatever other hotels are around, too.

The hotel is well managed. There was some mold in our bathtub when we checked in, when mentioned to the front desk, they cleaned it right the way. The hotel is clean overall. The breakfast room staff worked very hard to keep the food fresh and ready. She worked most days by herself and was so busy, yet she always served with a smile. All the front desk staff were friendly and professional. It would be nice if the fridge in the room is a little bigger, especially for the long-term guests.

I stayed here with my family on 7/30&8/1 thus year & we all loved this hotel !! The double queen bed room had a mini fridge ( no freezer ) & a microwave. Very wonderful hotel. Free breakfast was very good, they had a couple of different egg dishes ( scrambled eggs )& cooked potatoes, pancakes ( it was yummy, me & mom enjoyed them both days ! ), fresh apples / oranges .We have organic apples in our room ( if non organic,apples are GMO in the U.S.), so we had the oranges, they were juicy & very sweet !!! 😋 They had some sausage patties, too. We are vegetarians ( me & mom )& vegans, so we didnt eat that. Not much for vegans to eat, though !! We had croissants & some bageles, too .The staff & maids & the front desk people were all friendly & even other guests were very kind & courteous, especiallyto our elderly mom !! The location was great !! They had a great view of mountains from the hotel ( looked very close !! )& the patio of the breakfast room !! We had a beautiful sunset view from our window, too !! The room was very clean & big !! The WET BAR was very useful !! 👍👍And the sink was separated from the bathroom which I love, especially when I am staying w/ others, so that we dont have to wait to use the sink when someone is using the bathroom ! A very good location to visit San Juan Capistrano which we did & enjoyed ! Also Dana Point .Beautiful beach there ! Nice sea breeze, not smelly, not sticky at all ! We found many vegan friendly restaurants & vegan restaurants, even organic ones !! Two in Dana Point. We found a vegan burger shop in Mission Viejo, they were all very yummy !! Nice French cafe . The surroundings of the hotle & atmosphere, the beautiful views were unexpected. It felt like we went to a resort place !! I used to live in the areas near Mission Viejo, so it was very surprising, a very nice surprise indeed !! Their spa hotel was right next door & the nice courtyard of the spa hotel is for both hotel guests we were told ! The guests seemed to be really enjoying the pool / hot tub !! Very relaxing atmosphere. My sister wanted to swim there on our last morning, but the pool man told her to wait til hed finish cleaning & we were checking out that day, so she couldnt use the pool. Its a VERY DOG FRIENDLY hotel, too !! We took my sisters dog there w/ us & saw others were allowed to bring their doggies in the breakfast room even !! They didnt as they ate their vegan meals in our room.Minor things to mention, not sure why, but we didnt get our plastic / paper cups for 4 people each, just 2 each ! We called the front desk & I had to go down to the front desk to get em myself . Also, the very 1st thing I noticed as soon as we entered the hotel was a smell of bug spray like smell & nice spa place aroma mixed up in the air / entire lobby !!The hallways smelled like hotel, no bug spray scent ! Lol. But,our room was smelling like it ( bug spray )a tiny bit, too, again mixed w/ a very nice scent ! Another thing was there was not much for vegans to eat in the breakfast room !! Just oatmeal, cereals & fruites !! We are hoping that theyll have some vegan sausages or some tofu scrambles for vegans which provide more proteins & not boring foods for vegans !!Other than that, we loved this hotel !! Very relaxing hotel w/ wonderful views, even though we could see a freeway from the breakfast room, but the mountains canceled it out !! The rooms / hallways are wide, we loved that, too !! Nowadays, the most hotels have narrow hallways & much smaller rooms to stay in ! My mom is claustrophobic, but she didnt feel uncomfortable at all to stay in the room sharing the bed w/ me & the room / bathroom w/ the other daughter & her husband & their doggie !! I highly recommend this hotel at this location !!
The hotel in itself needs some updates. The carpet in our room felt dirty all the time. The carpet in hall way was dirty all the time. Cleanliness is getting to be not so good anymore. We had to keep unplugging and plugging in the cable box for the television to work.
Hotel rooms and front desk staff great. Hot breakfast was wonderful. Tuscany conference room experience was awful for first time in five years. Sales person was unreachable the week before. Set up for 9:00 am meeting was still incomplete at 9:15 am and the lovely new marble counter area had no electrical outlets!!! The maintenance guy helped us work around that eith a table on opposite side of room.

Very affordable hotel with free breakfast & free parking. We stayed on the 3rd floor and it was clean and spacious and had high ceilings. The whole staff was very friendly! I would stay here again without a doubt. The breakfast was yummy! Bagels, potatoes, eggs, sausage, pancakes, coffee, cereal, and oatmeal.
Very nearly a perfect place. Great prices, clean rooms in great shape. Outstanding customer service except for one person on the kitchen staff. (Don’t ask for replacement of your bacon off it is served to you at room temperature).Parking lot was well lit and parking stalls of reasonable size.We will be using Ayer’s again.
Overall spectacular! On a business trip with family, I was able to park my semi truck on premises. Phillip our customer service host has gone over and beyond for me and my family. Pool is great room is great restaurant is delish! Its been great experience.
Amazing prices, clean and modern rooms, great breakfast, friendly and available staff, tons of easy parking and safe quiet location with decent views. This is my second time staying here, and the first time my only complaint was the hallways were a little dated/dirty - well a year later and they already renovated them and they are now bright and clean. 10/10 for sure.
The front desk young man Gi or G was fantastic and provided great customer service. The house keeping and maintenance staff were attentive and kept the suites clean. I would give it a 6 star if I could and in a nice location. Gym could have used free weights.
We had requested a ground floor room but were put on second floor. The Hotel had renovations on the second floor at the time of our stay. Inconvenient at times since the elevator was blocked off.Breakfast was very good - like all Ayres Hotels. Staff was friendly - accomodated our request for a later check out time.Hot tub has a beautiful view of sunset.Locations was great. Loved the close access to all the hiking trails.Would like to stay there again.
The room and overall facility was nice. The staff were friendly and the front desk employees were prompt. The breakfast was typical for a hotel, though I believe they may have cooked eggs to order, but I didnt observe this and the person responsible was usually in the back. The bartender wasnt friendly. Aside from not being friendly, she told me I had to get silverware from the front desk, which was ridiculous as they serve breakfast in the same area and use plastic silverware; I think she just didnt want to get it, though there was only one other customer in the restaurant. Im giving only give 3 stars as housekeeping was far below what I would expect. We stayed Mon-Sat and our room was taken care of one time. I understand staffing shortages, and dont need my room cleaned daily, but access to towels and toilet paper would have helped a great deal. Daily, I had to search out towels on my own. Luckily the housekeeping office was just up the hall, so if the door was open, I could retrieve towels. If the office door wasnt open I had to wait on the front desk to send someone up, which often took a while. Unfortunately it wasnt until the middle of the night, 2am, that I realized I should have stocked up on TP. Id recommend if there is a lack of staff, have guests put their towels outside the door and someone could go by with a cart, take them, replace them and leave TP. I would have been okay with that.
I would have given this hotel a better rating, but when I got my bill, I was charged for a cleaning fee. We left the hotel room more clean than what it was on arrival. We had a room with a patio. The patio was an iron table and 2 chairs. No privacy.
The room and the staff were fantastic. There were some issues with noisy guests multiple nights in a row, but the staff took care of it. After the staff calling the people for two days in a row they finally wound up moving them down stairs. That was really the only major issue.The internet was not fantastic if used on a phone, but on my laptop it worked fine.The breakfast was okay, it tasted like reconstituted eggs, but other than that it was great and the people serving it were always so friendly.It would have been great to have a more updated gym, a lot of the equipment was in disrepair, but I also understand that it may just not be a very used feature at the hotel. And I can always get a temp membership at a local gym. But having a gym at the hotel is very convenient.The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioner worked great! Those were very important features to me.Overall it was great and I would definitely stay here again.

Ayers is our hotel of choice. The cleanliness of this location was the worse. Dog food spilled outside of the door, floors and carpet not clean and dusty. Refrigerator dirty. I found a dog hair and human hair in the bathroom and in my bed as well. One of the main reasons why my family chooses to stay at the Ayers is because of the attention to cleanliness. This location failed. I wont ever stay at here again. Go back to the companys principles and reset the staff if you must. This location gives the company a bad name.

The entire staff was WONDERFUL and the restaurant was very good as well. I would recommend your hotel to my friends and family when they are traveling. The only suggestion for your Marketing Director is as I told the front desk. I think it would be great if you had a Comment and Concern form in the room so the guests could fill it out when they are leaving which could be forwarded to your corporate each month. It was a very pleasant vacation staying there and was sorry to leave but real life must go on.
The hotel is in a good location and the rooms are nice and big. The bed was rather soft and lumpy. The mattress seemed worn out. Breakfast is mediocre. The eggs are hard, dry and obviously instant. There was no bacon. The sausage was ok.
The room was fairly priced for the quality. We appreciated that the room had a fridge and microwave for the price. Breakfast was included, but we did not wake up early enough to take advantage. It appeared this hotel is a popular stay for wedding guests at nearby venues.The only complaints we had were that we were inexplicably given an ADA accessible room, which meant the shower was unusual for us since we didnt have special needs. We did not care enough to ask to move for a one night stay. Additionally, the air conditioning was not working when we first got to the room, and it was quite hot. Luckily we had to leave, and the AC was fixed when we got back. Unfortunately, the lack of AC made us quite sweaty while getting dressed for a wedding, and I would have preferred to have switched rooms when we brought it to the attention of the front desk. This is something that probably should have been caught by housekeeping when preparing the room.
Our stay was 5 nights, and we very much enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was good, with eggs, bacon, and sausage freshly prepared. Our king bed was very comfortable.The decor is very outdated. This isn’t an old hotel, so it’s curious why they chose the decor they did. The housekeeping was hit-or-miss, and they missed our room one day, leaving us with two overflowing trash cans, a huge pile of towels from shower and pool, dirty dishes, and no refill on coffee and hygiene supplies.The front desk staff was very good, and we were very grateful to find coffee available at 4am on the morning we left.We would definitely go back, but only if we can get the low price we were able to find on this trip. The rooms are worth the $120 we paid, but not the $200+ they ask on the weekends.
We booked a room block at the Ayres Hotel & Spa Mission Viejo for our wedding in June 2023. Ultimately, only 4/120 guests ended up booking a room at the Ayres through our room block. We had room blocks at four nearby hotels, and the Ayres was the most expensive of the four. That being said, the rate they provided to us was actually very affordable! I think our guests just opted for other nearby hotels instead because all four were listed on our wedding website, and the Ayres had the highest price. Regardless, my experience working with the Ayres was extremely positive! It was very easy to set up our room block, and I was able to arrange it months in advance of our wedding so we didn’t need to worry about it as the date approached. They sent me an email ~6 weeks prior listing out our guests who had booked through them and also sent a reminder email as the cutoff date for our event approached. Overall, a positive experience working with them!
I booked this last minute through a 3rd party site and was pleasantly shocked at the price for a double-queen on a weekend. Outstanding. The location of the hotel was excellent. Nice looking buildings and landscaping with ample parking. My survey speaks for itself - yall are a great hotel and wonderful people. You should be proud.Now for the 4s that I marked...-- Guest room cleanliness (4): This is seriously no big deal but attention to detail is important. Upon arriving in the room, there was an open sugar packet behind the coffee pot with a little sugar spilled onto the counter top. No ants (or other bugs) but thats what sugar attracts. There was also a couple long brunette hairs next to the tub on the bathroom floor. Other than those tiny things - flawless.-- Hotel telephones answered quickly (4): I only called the front desk twice; once (in the afternoon) it was answered within 3 rings, the other (around 11:00 PM) was answered after 9 rings. Staff was always friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Again - quality staff.I worked 2 years at Lexington Hotel Suites in Mesa AZ in my youth (1 year Maintenance, 1 year Front Desk). I really enjoyed my stay at your hotel.
We were pleased to have a very friendly greeting when we checked in. On the way to our room we chatted with a woman from housekeeping and she was also friendly and helpful. Our room was quite nice and very clean. The shower was immaculate! Both the bed and pillows were comfortable. We were grateful for a quiet and clean visit.
Beds are so hard. Seriously never had a bed this hard before in a hotel. Its going to be a long night. I will update if we stay longer.
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was so clean, the view from our room was lovely, the bed and pillows were great, and the breakfasts were so convenient. Our only regret was not bringing a bathing suit for the pool and hot tub.
Over all this was a very nice Hotel, I only have a couple of comments, One was we had to ask for the room to be cleaned after being gone all day and the room still not cleaned, and at breakfast they had run out of Pancakes, not an issue for myself, however others seemed unhappy. The staff and the hotel itself were great.
Check in was easy and the gentleman at the counter was helpful. The room was nice and comfortable, my wife and I enjoyed our breakfast out in the courtyard. We only had 2 minor issues 1) the upstairs room had some noisy occupants but happens often enough to not really be an strange occurrence and 2) the handle for the shower was difficult to turn and very noise like we were scraping metal on concrete. It worked just fine though. My wife and I found food in the area pretty easy but wished after that we wouldve tried the restaurant in the hotel. Check out was easy as well and would recommend a stay here and would stay here again if Im in the area.
It was a large room, with pretty good amenities, however, the lighting was sparse (very dark). Air conditioner was loud during the night. Also, mattress and pillows were very soft. We prefer a more firm mattress and pillows. Rooms were nice and clean, but towels had a funny odor, and were not that soft. The room was clean, and the front desk was helpful and very professional. We think we should have stayed next door at the spa. Their breakfast room was much prettier, and had better food offerings.
Very nice property and exactly what I needed, for a family reunion and celebration of my mothers birthday. Her home is too small for all of us so we used a room for four at the Ayres Suites. My granddaughter loved the pool in the evenings, the breakfast was fine with plenty of selections. Solid value for the price.
Honestly, not sure why it would be considered suites when it’s zero different than the hotel. Slight different layout but exact same amenities. I was definitely not impressed. The place seemed outdated and a little run down. Front desk wasn’t much of a help. On my last day, I asked the front desk if I could use the luggage cart. The employee said yes but I’ll have to come down and get it because she is the only one there. I went straight down and there were two other front staff employees with her. So I’m assuming she just did not want to. Also, there was no soap to wash your hands in the hotel. The microwave in the room didn’t work at times too. It was nice that they had complementary breakfast but it was the same thing every day. Also, the breakfast was very bland. So much so, that I thought I had covid and lost my taste and smell. I quickly tried one of my snacks to double check and no it was just the breakfast. I feel that since customers are paying more for a suite, the place should step up their game a bit.
Our stay was fantastic. The only issue we had was the vanity floor was sticky, as if something was spilled and not mopped up. We wiped it up and it went away. It kind of made me wonder about the things that could not be seen being clean. Other than that every thing was great. It was the best breakfast at a breakfast included hotel that I have ever seen. The pool was beautiful and very well kept. All of the staff members were very friendly and accommodating. We were there to attend a funeral and we needed a quiet peaceful calming atmosphere and we got exactly that. I would certainly stay there again.
Was not worth $200+/night. Took 2 hours to check in. Got charged an extra $125 for no reason with no notification. Breakfast was okay but options were limited as was access to the breakfast room. If paying this much for a room, guests should be able to grab a cup of tea or other snack outside of breakfast hours. Hot tub at pool was drained despite being advertised as open.Wouldnt recommend staying here.
I enjoy the complimentary breakfast and food options in the lounge in the evenings. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is convenient. The rooms are always clean. The only negative comment is that the Old Camp Bar and Grill advertises Room Service until 10:00PM, but when called at 9:00PM to order room service, I was told they were not delivering to rooms, I would have to pick my order up. That is not room service. Doesnt change my opinion of the Ayres, but you might want to clarify that on the room service menu in the room.
We were in town for a week for a wedding. This hotel is so nice! We got the two bed, queen suite and it was perfect for our stay. Rooms were clean, water pressure was great. Breakfast was included with the stay; it wasn’t anything fancy but it helped save a few dollars! This seems to be a chain of hotels; definitely will look for more Ayres Hotels to stay in in the future
The rooms are nice and are equipped with a fridge. beds are comfortable. TV set up was a little weird with only one bed being able to see the TV and the TV for the living room area on a wall across the entrance but the staff was nice and friendly and the place seemed clean. they may have a brown recluse problem but to be fair we did not share that with management. we just killed one in the room and saw one shell.
Very warm and welcoming front desk crew. We so enjoyed having the breakfast served and prepared each day.It was a very special touch having the afternoon wine, etc available. I enjoyed the fresh green apples as I was short on time one day and did not do breakfast, so grabbed an apple and that was a filling lunch.The bed was little to hard for me but otherwise, the whole setup was great.We enjoyed the pool with our grandchildren and of course, they were the reason we were there..
Connecting to wifi unsuccessful - TV malfunctioned twice but was fixed promptly. Did not need the wifi as I connect through cell phone hotspot for security, but others would find that an annoyance.Was unaware of any van service and would have used it had I known about it - I had to Uber back and forth to my venue for three days...Would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

The pool was very clean and with a very beautiful view. The gym was well maintained and enough cardio machines. The room was big and squeaky clean! Our room was cleaned everyday for the 3 days we stayed there and the cleaning lady did a good and amazing job!! Our experience at this hotel was excellent and superb! Will come back for sure!! :)
The hotel stay was wonderful. Check-in was smooth, customer service was very good, and the condition of the hotel was fine. Of special note was the complimentary breakfast. While the same menu items were served every day, there was the ability to have the attendant make an omelet or eggs prepared your way. The real plates and silverware where a very nice addition. Please expand that to the coffee and juice cups. Also, if city building code allows it, please provide a doorway leading to the stairwell from the first floor. My wife and I prefer to walk the stairs between our room and the first floor and to avoid the elevator (more exercise and less electricity use). As it was, we had to exit the hotel and re-enter into the stair well each time. The pool and hot tub were very nice too.
Excellent hotel! It was convenient to family and friends who live in the area. The cookies in the evening and the wine and beer reception and the fruit in the lobby were very pleasant surprises! Breakfast was good. The service from the front desk, the room attendants, the breakfast and wine reception personnel was exceptional! Loved everything about this place...one of the best Ive stayed at while traveling!
Overall we had a nice stay. However, when we arrived our room was 88 degrees & the air wouldnt not come on. The maintenance man arrived quickly & got it started, but one of the thermostats didnt work. The breakfast was good & the jets in the outside jacuzzi my the pool were great. The TV in the bedroom was difficult to operate. You had to angle the cable box on top of the TV just right & hold remote up high to change channels, etc.
High expectations unfounded --This hotel came recommended by our corporate attorney. I decided to check it out to see if we would include it for our corporate guests. After a 5 hour drive, I didnt get the warm and fuzzy feeling from the staff typical of high quality establishments. To top it off, there were no toiletries in the room, and delivery of said articles wasnt timely at all. Comfortable room, decent facilities, but customer service could use a big boost. I have decided against choosing this hotel for our corporate guests.
The service was wonderful and warm at this hotel. I was given choices on my room location and ended up at the far end of the second floor and it was extremely quiet. On the first night the smoke alarm started chirping and the front desk manager was there in 5 minutes to change the battery after I called downstairs. On two of the mornings of my stay I had to leave earlier than the official start of breakfast, but there was no problem going in early to get coffee, toast and fruit. I loved that the room had a ceiling fan. Thats a big plus. If I could suggest anything that could be improved it would be to lighten up the décor a bit - the room seems a bit heavy and dark. And this probably sounds very picky, but I wish the sheets were 100% cotton. I dont think they were, but the bed was very clean and the mattress very comfortable.
Check in was so easy and quick. Room did not disappoint, it was very clean and smelled very fresh right as you walk in. Very spacious! Also, the restaurant food was delicious and great service! The pool very clean and had such an amazing view. Only thing is that when I booked with expedia it mentioned that we had a VIP late checked out at 2pm but that wasnt applied. The gentleman at the front desk did give us an hour extension.
This hotel is a great value. The rooms are nice and well-kept. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And a great hot breakfast is included at no extra charge. The only negative comment is that the cleaning staff is pretty inconsistent when re-stocking the room each day. This was only an inconvenience and will not stop me from coming back.
*WE STAYED AT THE HOTEL & SPA* right across the wayI don’t know what’s wrong with people but the reviews did not even come close to matching the experience of this hotel. First of all it was secluded and a ways away from town which was perfect if you just needed some rest. Since we had done some sightseeing and hanging out with family when we got back we really just needed rest and nothing more. Every morning the we had breakfast and when I read that it was grab and go I thought for sure we would get some microwave junk. However, the hotel surprised us by having hot fresh cooked meals each time we went down. The rooms were clean and the staff was an absolute treat. The only thing I didn’t like was the woman cooking the breakfast on one day she seemed to be rushing me when I ordered even though I was the only one there. Otherwise it was perfect! Definitely give this place a chance cause it was so worth it!
Would stay here again, and highly recommend to anyone considering a stay! The hotel is very clean, the rooms are comfortable. The public areas are really nice, and with the old California/mission style, it feels like a much more expensive hotel. The breakfast (complimentary) was much better than we anticipated, and the entire staff was very pleasant. Only complaint is the same complaint I have at most hotels--they dont have iced tea, so I had to make my own with hot tea and ice. Why dont hotels offer iced tea.
I stay here often and am always very happy with everything. Check in is easy and quick. Very professional and kind staff. Upgraded rooms with hardwood floors are really lovely. Uber clean and comfortable. I love that its a boutique style hotel rather than a large chain hotel 🏨.
We stayed here for a week due to a flood in our house. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were taking care of in all aspects! We enjoyed the pool, the wonderful breakfast, and most of all the friendly smiles From staffs faces every day. We will recommend this hotel to all our family and friends. Another great stay at Ayres Suites Mission Viejo. We love this place and wouldnt think of staying anywhere else when we visit the area. The hotel is immaculate, the rooms are large, clean and have everything you might need. The staff is always the best and eager to serve any needs. The included breakfast hits the spot and the staff there pulls off miracles when the hotel is busy. We will be back soon.
Even though we were there for two nights no one cleaned our room after the first night. When I spoke to the front desk they told me that someone was supposed to clean the room each day.Also, the gym is really an afterthought as it can accommodate at most two occupants.
We liked it a lot. Though next time we will be sure to ask for a room that doesnt get so much noise from rooftop equipment. A wonderful suite with a seriously annoying noise. Lovely staff. Breakfast very pleasant - but the eggs and sausage, etc., need to be kept hotter. Overall, terrific value.
It was our wedding night and check in at midnight was simple and easy. Thank you. When we arrived to our room. the smoke detector was chirping.. right away we got assistance to remove but we had to do it ourselves as maintenance was not around. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We got upgraded to a bigger room at no additional charge, which was nice!!!! The overall experience was great. Breakfast in the morning was good. The hotel should offer TO GO containers however so they can go down and bring back to room without it being ice cold when it arrives. It was a long walk from downstairs to our particular room at end of hall. I would have paid extra to have it delivered :) Though it was NICE to have it included in our room charge.
Facilities were neat and clean and nice to be able to use Spa facility restaurant and lounge. My hotel room had a musty smell that never went away - we had to buy Febreeze and try to freshen the room. We talked to the General Manager about replacing a light bulb over the kitchen sink area but no one ever came to replace it; room was somewhat dark and low lit.
The facilities are very nice. We stayed there at the suggestion of a relative who lives across the street. Our only complaint is the distance of our room to the pool and our particular room smelled bad. Like a wet dog. Enjoyed the pool and exercise room very much and also the made to order breakfast. Many breakfast selections and we didnt go away hungry.
We gathered at this marvelous hotel for a family wedding. My siblings and I enjoyed our morning coffee by the fire - it was quiet, cozy, and private enough for our conversations. The staff pampered us with kindness, information about local walking paths, and opened up the breakfast room so we could watch a favorite NCAA team play basketball. The location is perfect, the rooms and beds so comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!
Room was very clean, and well appointed. Cafeteria setting needs a bit of work. The tables are very small, like in a bistro. The problem were the chairs.. several of them have lost their cushioning, and were uncomfortable. Too many chairs and tables in such a small eating area when you have a large group of people. Otherwise, all was good. My stay was so short...but it was a good experience overall. Actually, my husband and I are planning on going back to that area, and will definitely stay with you again.
Good stay, however the gym needs an upgrade.Breakfast always the same everyday. Suggest to change the menu.
WE stay at the Ayres every time we visit Mission Viejo. The rooms are especially nice and very clean. The hotel staff have an air of sophistication not found in most facilities today. We love the location, close to our family. Its also nice to have free parking and the breakfast is always adequate. And I think its a great value for the CA area. We will be back again.
Always amazing when we stay here. The staff is so friendly from check in to getting an amazingly tasty breakfast from the kind chef to accidentally leaving you office keys in your room after check out and the cleaning ladies saved them for you! Always wonderful beautiful taken care off the court yard the pool just beautiful. Will be staying there again for sure!
Update: So I spoke with the general manager Steve. Told him about what happened. He was not happy with how it went down. He was very apologetic about the situation and said he would take care of it immediately. I told him that the room was clean and the grounds are well kept, but the couch kind of overshadowed it. I told him I like the location. Since we do weekend outings to the beach every couple months, we stay within a few minutes of the beach and this is a good area. I told him we would give this location another try and I am pretty confident, after speaking with Steve, that this will not happen again. I will update once we stay at this location in the near future.Its located off the 241 in a nice location. The room was clean except the pull out couch mattress had urine stains all over it. We folded the couch back up and put a blanket over the cushions so my son had a place to sleep. The next morning I went down to check out and showed the girl at the desk the picture of the mattress. She looked at us and said sorry. Didnt offer to talk to the manager or anything. This is the mattress on the pull out couch. How does housekeeping ignore that? It looks like they picked it up off the streets.
5 day stay. One of the most comfortable beds ever. One of the least comfortable couches ever. Free breakfast was pretty good. A little pricey, but what I expected these days. The staff was attentive and pleasant.
We love the Ayres Suites Mission Viejo. We are always comfortable there and feel at home. The staff are always very kind, efficient and friendly. The hotel was incredible for after or wedding. We had gone out to bars after with friends and upon arriving the front desk had our key ready to go for the bride and Groom still dressed at 1am!! They made it so easy to just grab it and go straight to bed! And they extended our checkout time so we could sleep off the good times had the night before. It was amazing service at an amazing price!
So why a 4 star? The price was reasonable for a one night Saturday stay. The rooms were clean and stocked. The drop is how aged the hotel was in its aesthetics. Taco shop down the street is good and open till midnight
Unfortunately, our room smelled strongly of something we could not decipher. We had to open the windows to be able to breath better. The hotel decor is dated, dark and depressing. The breakfast was quite good, however the gentleman who served it, was not at all friendly. All in all, we were pretty disappointed with the Ayers and will not stay there again.
It’s actually a nice immaculate hotel. Unfortunately, they let regular cars park in their electric vehicle charging spots. I pay extra to stay at the Ayres hotel and out of my way so that I can charge my car at night. this happened both nights I was here; one night, I could not get a charging spot because they were filled with regular combustion engine vehicles. What’s the point of having electric car chargers if you can’t get to them.
I have stayed here three times and been very happy and secure. The staff are all pleasant and the place is managed very well. Rooms are very clean and maintenance upkept very well. There is currently loud earthmoving equipment from 7am each weekday next door downhill, so earplugs are essential on one side of the building.
The room had a musty smell and felt damp. The restroom smelled like mildew. The hotel needs to be remodeled with new carpet and maybe the addition of some sort of air freshener throughout the facility. Ronaldos Tacos in the shopping area next door has really good tacos. Hotel is in great location close to food and shopping but what else would you expect in South OC.
Very Excellent service from the front desk, the breakfast buffet and cocktail hour treats, housekeeping staff, hotel accommodations, the swimming pool and gym, and check-out services. Thank you!I would only recommend two improvements: give guests a separate hair conditioner with shampoo instead of a combined shampoo/conditioner. And more red apples in the guest area! Other than that, everything most excellent! We will stay with again!
Stayed at the Ayres hotel for our daughter’s wedding... Reserved the conference room for flower prep and several rooms for the wedding party, family and folks assisting with wedding prep... Our overall experience was delightful!! We were accommodated so our rooms were close to the conference room for easy access... Breakfast was yummy and a nice time to connect and relax before launching into our days... Had many interactions with the hotel staff and all were pleasant and everyone was extremely helpful!
Generally very nice, well-kept. I liked the size of the room and the layout, and the pool was really terrific, especially the view. My sole disappointment was my room was on the first floor with a view directly into the parking lot, so I didnt feel comfortable having my blinds open, even with the sheers.
Staff could be more friendly. Housekeeping staff has no smile and reluctant to give you clean towels or take your dirty towels. Rooms were not that clean, cleaned myself. There were small insects on 2nd floor room by the sinks. Phone was broken the whole time. We paid the weekly rate and maybe thats why you get what you pay for.
The staff was very nice but there was a Baseball team there who was running up-and-down the hallways and the staff didnt nothing about it after I called. I asked if they speak with someone but they did nothing. When I woke up I noticed a dirty hallway and a dirty waiting area it was disgusting
Enjoyed our 2 day stay. The rooms are large and comfortable. The front desk service is great and very accommodating. The breakfast is better than going out to a restaurant. The location is great right next to the 241 toll road. I would highly recommend this Ayres to all travelers.
Stayed here over the Christmas holiday, had a nice experience. My only concerns: the water bottle in the rooms fridge is not gratis (its actually $4). The sign indicating this is on the countertop, not exactly near the fridge. Next issue: Handicapped-accessible rooms (we were told) had only one King bed. Great if handicapped person is traveling with spouse or family, but this isnt always the case. Breakfast & evening snacks (included) were plentiful & good. Many choices, delicious fruit @ breakfast. Shower pressure was non-existent, but beds were comfortable. Definitely worth a try for a night or two.
Omg this is Definitely a hidden gem and you should Definitely visit. The only thing that was a huge turn off was the not so nice so called cook in the mornings. The breakfast was okay however the service needs big improvements. We we read reviews that clearly stated they make omelets if you ask. Well that didnt happen seeing there were more than 5 people in the room. It is my belief that we didnt tip thus the cruddy service. Id love to suggest some new chairs as well, seeing that you sink right thru them. Other than that the rooms are a great size, comfortable beds, and very clean. Id Definitely visit again and just get breakfast elsewhere.
On Saturday morning I had breakfast in the dining room and the lady that was serving behind the breakfast buffet was smiling and seemed very nice until I heard her making mean comments about some of the guests in Spanish to the cook behind her. I guess she assumed that none of the guests understood the spanish language. I dont have a Spanish accent but I am of Mexican heritage and I speak and understand Spanish very well. It was the only bad experience I had during my stay which left me feeling like maybe the smiles and service were not genuine. Its too bad because I enjoyed the hotel, the amenities and I thought the rest of staff were very helpful.
Nice clean hotel. Staff was lovely. Stayed for a week long conference. Breakfast was delicious and coffee was perfect! Approx 25 minute drive to airport, Laguna Beach and walking distance to a couple great dinner spots. Awesome nail salon next door too!
The hotel is well maintained, our room was clean, and the staff friendly/helpful. Upon check in, the front desk upgraded us due to our trying experience with our arrival into Southern California (scheduled to fly into John Wayne airport, and diverted to LAX) which was nice - added a jetted tub to our stay. The room had a ceiling fan in addition to the air condition unit which was a nice extra. The hotel was off the beaten track which resulted in quiet nights of sleep. The only reason I did not give a five (5) star is because the bed is advertised as being pillow topped (both sides). If it is, may be time to flip the mattress because it was not as soft as a typical pillow top bed. We took advantage of the evening social one evening before meeting up with family for dinner. In addition to the two (2) cocktails provided free, there was a variety of food that exceeded the typical snacks - included hot food (mandarin chicken with steamed rice) and some salads, as well as, chips with salsa and/or cheese dip. Missed breakfast our first morning, and only brought a bagel to the room the day we checked out. There was eggs and bacon plus fruit, yogurt, etc. Would definitely recommend and stay again if/when traveling to the area.
This is our favorite place to stay when we are in Orange County. Everything here scores 10+ in our books -- professional, courteous and friendly staff, good housekeeping, clean, attractive facilities, and all of the extra perks of apples, cookies, breakfast AND dinner make this a wonderful property. The location is great, also, with the Toll Road adjacent to the hotel. I could keep going on and on about ALL of the positives. Please thank the staff for their kind and professional assistance while we were there -- morning, afternoon, and evening staff--all great people who were very helpful, kind, and exceedingly professional.

We checked in for my brothers wedding, he had reserved a book of rooms for our stay. We called to make a reservation and it was very easy and quick. Actually cost of the room and the discount price wasnt huge but was nice to get a little discount. We checked in and it was pretty fast, room was great and in good condition and smelled very nice. They spa and stay was nice, even turned the AC and TV on briefly.
Everything was great. Staff was super friendly, room and bathroom were very clean and breakfast was good. Room was quiet and bed was comfortable. Prefer modern decor, we booked here instead of Ayres Spa and hotel by accident were it was more contemporary. Nonetheless, great hotel!
From the moment we arrived at the reception desk to check-in through check-out, the staff was outstanding in courtesy, efficiency and overall service. Our room was clean and comfortable--we couldnt ask for anything more. The only deficiency was that a shower cap was not placed in the room but was remedied by asking for one at the reception desk.
I would have given a 3 from the moment I called in to make my reservation because the two times I connected with customer service I felt like I was rushed by the two different staff who answered my call. However, the staff who greeted us and the GM who processed our check out made up for the lack of customer service provided to me over the phone.The room was clean and thanks to Aracely for that. Silvia from the kitchen for the first 2 days’ breakfast was very very nice and communicative. Not so much so with Miguel.Cable selection can be upgraded.
In the beginning, we thought it would be wonderful but waking up on Saturday morning to a cockroach crawling in the room, things quickly went downhill. From the lady at front desk telling us she couldnt do anything without talking to the GM on Monday, to an employee joking about how the cockroach wasnt really that big and hes seen bigger to the General Manager being very rude and put out because he had to even talk to us, Id say this will definitely be a hotel we dont stay at again. Had the staff been more understanding about our concern of sharing a room with cockroaches, maybe I wouldnt feel quite as upset with the stay but it almost seemed like they expected us to be ok with it and because werent, they were annoyed.

The room was generally clean except for the sofa bed. When we opened up the sofa bed, there were a few items underneath on the floor (small plastic container and a pen). To us, it meant that the sofa bed was not cleaned so we didnt use it. Also the cushion for the sofa bed may need to be replaced. Maybe another person in kitchen for breakfast was needed to provide better customer service on the weekend the hotel sponsors an event at the Ladera Sports Center.
We stayed over in a suite last Saturday and in our rush to leave left several articles in the dresser drawer. We realized our mistake 3 hours later and phoned the front desk who say they visited our vacant room and say they found nothing which was impossible since we were the last occupants only hours before.Something is wrong with management supervision of staff.Watch out for missing articles.
The Hotel Room was clean and roomy. I never had any problems. Breakfast was good and evening snacks were enjoyable. Staff always friendly and ready to answer questions. Pool size was adequate and maintained well.
Friendly staff from dining area to housekeeping to front desk and all points in between. Clean, beautiful, convenient, safe! Loved it. They hosted a conference for our group recently...the great food served helped cut down on expenses and provided several great meals for us. Thank you Ayres for such great service.
So grateful! The customer service was perfect and the breakfast omelet was such a wonderful surprise! considering some hotels are offering nothing because of covid. We looked forward to the hot tub and were not disappointed!
The best part of your hotel was the gentleman at the front desk named Greg who apologized & bent over backwards to try to help us. We checked into 3 different rooms & all of them had cleaning issues. The first had pubic hair wrapped in a face towel. The second had hair all over the bathroom floor and the third had toothpaste spit on the sink. During Covid that was scary & unsettling. We ultimately asked to be moved to your sister property that was so much better.
We have always had excellent stays at Ayres Hotels. Every time we are in Southern California, we make it a point to stay at Ayres. The grounds are beautiful, the atmosphere is much more luxurious than the price suggests. The pool and spa are really clean and set at perfect temperatures. The rooms are super clean and comfortable, and we all slept well. It is very evident that the staff work very hard and pay attention to details.The free breakfast is outstanding, and includes eggs, bacon/sausage, hashbrowns, toast, bagels, english muffin, Oatmeal with all the fixins, cereal, milk, coffee and assorted juices. The cook is also very friendly.Upon checkout, I made the suggestion to the manager that they not change a thing. They have very little room for improvement!

We could have paid you for the few rides we made: airport, Disney, Spectrum, Santa Monica Pier and Hollywood Boulevard.
This hotel was the worst hotel I have ever been to.1. Service was slow and very poor. The staff were very impolite and rude.2. The maintenance was poor! I checked into a room to stay in with my family and the room smelled extremely bad. I even went to check a different a different room but it smelled even worse.3. This place had a sketchy vibe. Sketchy cars in the parking lot and creepy hallways.4. Small sizes for everything. The pool, rooms, bathrooms, and TV was all small and dirty.

Coming to the Ayres is like coming home, only nicer. The best part of this hotel is the staff. The breakfast and evening service is always good and really welcome after a long day of travel. We wouldnt stay anywhere else when we visit Southern California.
Ive stayed here many times and the stay is always very comfortable. The staff is very organized and accommodating. The hotel is very clean and up to date. There is a beautiful pool, exercise room, wash facility, and in the hotel right next door...the Ayres Spa and Hotel... theres a restaurant/bar and a spa that offers massages and other services. Its always a great time!
We stayed at Ayres Hotel & Suites for a couple days to attend a grandchilds graduation. We found the room to be comfortable and well furnished and the front desk service to be excellent. We would stay there again if we are in the area.
Consistent and clean, friendly staff and good location for my work requirements: all good. Nice attempt with the breakfast - however, its buffet food is just that...but, youre not a restaurant so its fine. The weirdness: requests for tips from staff (in envelopes left in room, tip jars at breakfast) - it comes across as though they need the tips to make up the difference in the wages. Obviously the place is stylistically dated (out of the late 70s or 80s) - but its pretty quiet, clean and well preserved. My only recurring frustration: seating (at the desk in the room and in the breakfast/happy hour lounge) is all crushed in and collapsing...its oddly awful compared to how well everything else is kept.
Your hotel was conveniently located by the 241 toll road and it provided ample parking. It was located in a residential area and close to the park, supermarket and strip mall. Due to its location, it was pretty quiet and there was barely any traffic.
The assistant general manager seems like she could be running the place by herself. Everything was clean and well ran inside. This place runs like clockwork but the general manager was no where to be found. Hayley got everything set up and the whole process was completely painless and easy. Thanks again! I recommend promoting within the company to help employees provide an awesome total experience to customers. After chatting at the front desk I quickly realized this place is ran by an awesome staff and crew with the general manager no where in sight. It looks to me that the employees really run this place and the assistant should really be the general manager. Take the advice from a customer. If you ask for the general manager and can never find him, hes probably not worth it.
As always we had a great stay, the staff is the best there is and always gives us a warm welcome. The rooms are always spotless and comfortable. The breakfast hits the spot. Ayres always makes our visits a pleasure. Cant wait to return. Thank you for everything.
This lovely boutique hotel served our needs perfectly. Its very conveniently located right off the toll road. Its nice to look at from the outside. Inside the decor and ammenities are lovely. The staff was polite and helpful and friendly. We stayed there 3 times in one week due to a death in the family, and our experience was excellent. I think this is a great value. Highly recommend.
Amenities, cleanliness, and especially a very nice staff make staying at your hotel a pleasure each time. To my dismay this stay I found numerous items in disrepair. My room- the door wouldnt close to the bathroom, the bar sink wouldnt operate, and the coffee maker continually overflowed. The lobby restroom had a toilet out with a sign do not use, the hot side of the faucets were inoperable. A huge factor was an elevator was out while you were hosting a wheel chair tennis tournament. That to me is a 911 issue but was out of service entire weekend? WOW... The grounds crew while trying to relax at the pool with the blowers and trimmers was rude. The seal coat company overspilled tar in the open areas and vehicles were tracking thru it. Whomever is in charge of maintenance is failing badly! I love your hotel but I am considering other options in the future because of this stay. M.Robb
My husband and I have been long time visitors of the Ayres Hotels. This probably was our least favorite stay. We were there because of a fire evacuation and I got there at Thursday, 5 am. The gentleman who helped me was wonderful. We just had a little mix up on the dates, as I thought I was booked through Saturday night. When we got to our room Saturday night my card did not work. We were locked out. I went to the desk and paid for another night. My Fire confusion I believe.We have never stayed on the side of the spa before. I know Covid has changed a lot of things. But it sure was not the Ayres stay we were accustomed too. We stayed 4 days and never was our room visited. Nor did we get anything to clean our coffee table or anything with. We were not told either until my husband called down to ask and he was told because of covid only every 4 days do you go into the room to clean and replace items. I think you know if some one is staying 3 -4 days they will at the very least need clean towels and COFFEE Packets.We had to ask for Towels. We had to ask for our trash to be picked up. We placed the trash outside our door and it remained there at least two days. (each time) Also, trash outside others rooms lingered as well. Saturday night we asked for wine glasses at the bar and they only had two and could not let us use them. I asked for paper plates, you did not have any, just foam boxes and cocktail napkins.Thursday and Friday breakfast, the Cook was very professional - outstanding in all ways. The lady fixing breakfast on Saturday and Sunday big difference, she apparently does not speak English very well and had a hard time with my order. More to it but why bother.Sad, I have worked with the Ayres hotel over 20 plus years. I arranged party planning at the Laguna woods and Mission Viejo. We also have stayed at the Costa Mesa Ayres, the Anaheim Ayres and the Seal Beach Ayres, Chino Hills Ayres many times. I introduced Piccilinos to your establishment many years ago. Our daughters wedding was at the Laguna woods hotel 19 years ago. I have planned many many occasions at the Ayres hotel, coordinated Poshs Corporate Catering for 100s of meeting and am saddened that we have been left with a bad taste in our mouths.Brenda who worked at the Aryes Mission Viejo many years ago in the past had always made us feel so welcomed. Not bad... but Hilton or Marriott would be nicer. Theyve spent more time trying to maintain vintage v. Upkeeping.As you can see in the photos the phones were incredibly helpful.... you know not being plugged into the wall or anything.
Very nice. Some rooms have distant vistas though not especially picturesque. Staff nice. Breakfast has a big variety of options. Good for catering level food but not great. Will come back here next time Im visiting the area.
Excellent accommodations, but with some tradeoffs. I will never take another room with an adjoining door to the room next to me. You hear everything, and I mean everything, especially if its a loud obnoxious woman literally yelling on the phone until 1AM. If someone like myself requests a quiet room, even if its at the end of a long hall, make that a priority. Second, the night manager gave me no options whatsoever regarding housekeeping. Its Thursday or nothing. Unfortunately I had missed my first Thursday because I thought I would be checking out. My situation changed and I asked if someone could come in and take care of the room, since I was scheduled to check out anyway, when it would have been done. No luck. Since youre in the same room, I was told, the room wont be made up until Thursday. OK, then lets change rooms. We dont do that. He seemed to enjoy giving me a hard time, and I wasnt pleased, but since I had just had a spinal epidural (which is why I extended) I wasnt exactly in a place to change the sheets myself. Like I said, tradeoffs.
An unexpected stay at Ayres Hotel and Spa was a wonderful experience! Extremely kind and helpful staff made our 2 day stay a positive experience. We refused a hotel stay in San Diego at Days Inn on Hotel Circle South, was no hotel! It was a MOTEL that smelled like mold and mildew and had gnats the size of house flies!!! Ayres Suites in Mission Viejo had a beautiful setting, clean with comfortable rooms and we were very happy with our accommodations! I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone!
I booked an executive King room for three weeks. They downgraded me to a regular king, but never notified me of the change. The difference is that the executive has a whirlpool tub, the regular king doesnt. The whirlpool tub is the reason that I booked with Ayres. Not only didnt they notify me ahead of time, but they didnt even tell me when I checked in. I found out when I walked into my room. At first when I asked them about it, they said I was booked for a regular king. Then I showed them my confirmation that said I was booked for an executive room. At that point they said they didnt have any of those rooms available, but they would put a note in my record to let me know if they get an executive room available in the next few days and I can then transfer rooms if I want.Additionally, I have had to get maintenance to work on the TV twice in my first three hours here. Its not exactly an auspicious beginning. Unfortunately Im stuck here for three weeks because of their cancellation policy. Ill update the rating if things get better over the next three weeks.
The hotel is very nice and clean. The have free wifi, amazing breakfast, and complimentary dinner in the evening on weekdays. Friendly staff and willing to help with any questions you may have. 1/4 mile from the 241 toll road 10 minute drive to Mission Viejo lake 5 minute drive to the nearby grocery store 15 minute drive to Mission Viejo Mall
Our experience at Ayres is always wonderful. From check in to check out. This is why we stay at Ayres several times a year. Its very clean. The beds are super comfortable. The breakfast is very good. Miguel is a great chef. Hopefully, now that covid is over, Ayres will bring back the buffet style breakfast and get rid of the grab and go breakfast. We do miss the happy hour that you used to have at 5:00 pm where salads and wine/beer was available Monday thru Thursday. We think things must go back to pre-covid life and living! Dont you?
My favorite hotel to stay in the Los Angeles/Orange County area. I have choices of other hotels that are more convenient and closer to where I need to be but I always try to stay at Ayres. Clean, big, clean and super friendly. Breakfast are great. Sometimes they have early evening drinks. Good internet. Comfortable and clean furnishings. Soft towels. The pool and sauna are always nice. Great value. I highly recommend to single business travelers or and traveling families.
The hotel was fine. The problem is the people who are running it. One of the breakfast lady has a real bad attitude problem. People sitting at the table next to me were also complaining about her attitude problem. She told me I cant have 2nd plate of food, but I see other people getting 2nd plates. There are no signs anywhere in the dining room that says only one plate of food per person. Also, she used her bare hands to pick up the one more pancake I wanted for breakfast. Yet, she used the forceps to pick up pancakes for other people. Therefore, I threw out that 2nd plate of food. I made a complaint at the front desk and doesnt seem like the front desk lady cared. She said the hotel manager is not in yet, but she will tell the manager. Later when I was checking out the front desk lady and the rude breakfast lady were having a laugh together. I guess that complaint went into the trash and the hotel manager will never see it. Either that or the hotel manager doesnt care about rude and bad services either. I dont know how this hotel got 8.8/10 on Priceline and 4.5/5 on Google. I guess most people didnt have to deal with staff there.
We have stayed at this Ayres site several times over many years. Our experience has always been excellent! We have been welcomed by all of the staff as if we were returning family members...by name! Chefs Miguel and Silvia have been most gracious in providing individual attention with the made-to-order breakfasts.The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Our family lives about 10 minutes away from this hotel so we find it convenient to them, SNA, and the locations we like to visit when in SoCal.Thanks, Dean, Kellie, et.al.
Great stay - hotel is charming, furnishings are superb, hot breakfast, hot jacuzzi were a couple of treats not always found in hotel services! We needed to check in early and staff accommodated us wonderfully. Food in the evening was a surprise treat.
Nice hotel. Very nice staff. Room was very nice, big and clean with fridge and microwave. Breakfast was ok- a little crowded. Beautiful views from the pool and right off the 241.
We werent there long but they were very accommodating. They gave us a later check out time on request. Breakfast was delicious. The room was nice and comfortable and clean. There is even a tub with jets.

The staff is very friendly! Upon check in they asked if we would like the bedding for the couch bed, within minutes they were at the door! We had also called about extra towels and again within minutes they were at the door! Definitely would stay again and recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area!
We have stayed at several hotels in the area and this is our favorite. Easy, friendly check-in, clean, quiet, larger room with a view, and a decent breakfast. Our only issue is the elevators are located at the end of the hallway, not the middle, so you may have quite a hike if your room at the other end of the building.
The person in the cafeteria needs some training how to approach a customer politely if something doesn’t look good for him.When I checked out, the Front Desk guy can’t even say thank you and have a great day. He just said, just dropped off your card in the jar.I stayed in this hotel for almost 8 yrs, I might go back to Staybridge if nothing change how customers be treated.

Stayed here for a night over the summer with my kids while passing through town and visiting family. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast made it easy to get moving fairly early the next day. Would stay again.
Overall It was very relaxing and the pool was nice. The only thing the hotel was very understaffed which causeding waits at the front desk. I was on hold nearly 20 min to request towels.The property is in need of a touch up as its looking a bit old. No security at all but very safe.
I stay there every year on medical business. Great hotel. I was very impressed this time with the super cleaning and disinfecting protocols that were in place due to COVID-19. When I entered the suite was so clean and sanitary it made me feel that I was the first guest to ever stay in it!
Rooms clean and fresh-smelling. Comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast. Relaxing decor. Great service. Quiet location with nice views. I like the place so much that whenever I can, I stay an extra day rather than rush home on the red-eye!

My room was clean and the maid did an excellent job. The hotel overall was clean. The front desk employees were friendly and helpful. The cafeteria employees were friendly but sometimes seemed annoyed. The food was ok.
Everything was exceptional. The staff provided accurate directions to places around the area. They were very knowledgeable. The breakfast was also exceptional for a hotel breakfast. We enjoyed our relaxed breakfast time.
When we arrived we requested a top floor room and were given a 2nd floor room right by the elevator. We asked to switch to top floor and were told there were no king beds on top floor so we were provided a different 2nd floor option. This rooms A/C was not working. Later in the day we were provided a 3rd level room (with King bed-oddly). The room was fine except the bed felt ancient. In all rooms we tried, the beds were spring mattresses that felt 10 years old or older. My husband didnt sleep well. We thought about changing hotels, but were so busy with activities we never had an opportunity to do so. We make this trip annually and will likely choose a different hotel with better beds.
I really enjoyed my stay in your beautiful hotel while we were down for the CR Summit and look forward for next year. I want to thank Nicole and I cant remember the the gentlemans name in the suit, that were so quick in finding us another room with double beds when our air conditioner did not work in our first room 122, we then were offered room 203 closest to the elevator which was a perfect location due too 2 of us ladies having problems walking distances without being in pain. I also would like to thank Sylvia and Miguel in the little restaurant for feeding us and Maria our Guest room attendant for keeping our beds made up and clean. I look forward to staying with you next year for West Coast Celebrate Recovery 2019 Summit.
The room we were in was a double queen. The rooms are spacious and the staff extremely courteous. There is a small pool on site and the hotel is near the mountains. It is a bit far from touristy locations but as we were staying here to visit family it was perfect. If you dont mind a 20+ minute drive to touristy spots then I highly recommend this hotel.
Beautiful hotel, i really enjoyed my visit. Everyone seemed happy to be there even the other people staying there. They play classical music in the lobby which is a nice unique touch. The suites are extreme clean and nice. I would recomend them definitely. -Darcy
Friendly staff, always willing to assist us. Hotel seemed a bit outdated but mostly clean. One day after returning from our activities we found hand soap with black hair stuck on it. Yuck......we are all blondes so it wasnt from us. We showed it to the front desk but not sure if they acted on it or not.
Im very disappointed in the telephone Customer Service that I received before my stay. Actually, Maleigha (not certain of the spelling) was very sweet and as helpful as she could be. But she was unable to resolve my issue. I booked my reservation for the Pagett/Valesquez Wedding for the night of October 3rd. I booked from The Knot Wedding web site that the couple created. Therefore, I was under the impression that I was booking directly with the Hotel and that I had the option to cancel up until 24 hours before my stay. When in fact, I was booking through a 3rd Party, HotelPlanner.com. I tried to call the cancellation number on my e-mail confirmation, I got the run-around and didnt get to speak with a Human. I tried the Live Chat and was advised that a cancellation had to be done by calling the number Id already called. So, I tried that number again and again, I got the run-around from the automated system. I then sent a message on their web site, asking to receive a phone call from them so that I could be sure that I didnt cancel and still get charged. Their web site states, and I quote... Any cancellation received within 1 day prior to the arrival date will be charged for the entire stay. They dont specify what constitutes, one day. So, I presumed that meant within 24 hours. So, I was calling more than 24 hours in advance of check-in time on October 3rd. I never received that requested call. So, I sent an on-line request to cancel. I received a message the next morning (October 3rd) saying they were unable to cancel this reservation. I had called your hotel the evening of October 2nd and was put on a 9 minute and 47 second hold by a man working the front desk. I hung up and called back and when he said, ...may I put you on a brief hold? I replied with, No you may not. I was just on hold for almost 10 minutes. He said he had another customer standing in front of him and that he had to put me on a brief hold. And with that, he did. And I hung up. Frustrated. I ended up staying at your Hotel rather than waste my money. The room was fine and clean, nothing special. The breakfast was very good and the coffee, as well. The man who checked me in at the front desk was pleasant enough -- I wonder if he was the same one who had put me on two holds the night before -- but he had my Husband and I going back and forth, out to our car, because he kept telling us what he needed in piece meal. First, my Husband went to check us in. The man said he needed to see my I.D. because the reservation was in my name. So, I gave my Husband my I.D. The man then said he needed to see me and my I.D. So, I came in. Then he needed a credit card for incidentals. Back tot he car I went. Then he needed my License plate number. You get the picture. VERY frustrating. Between HotelPlanner.com and your front desk man, this experience leaves a very bad taste in my mouth for your Hotels. This was my first stay and it will very likely be my last. Thanks for listening.

I had a wonderful experience there over the weekend. My daughter and I stayed and had such a nice time. Breakfast was amazing and so was the staff. I highly recommend this place to anyone who hasnt experience it yet themselves.
We have stayed with Ayresonce a year over the past several years attending a local summit. As always they stay was excellent and without a problem.The only thing worth mentioning is that I had to leave a $50 deposit for room incidentals that has not been refunded after three days yet.
In these new times of covid19 Im sure it is difficult to adapt to continuos changes for guest safety. The staff was great, the rooms were clean and breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The only down-side was apparently bigfoot was staying in the room above me - clomp clomp clomp, but thats not the hotels fault. An erroneous charge for a bottle of water was taken care of quickly by the helpful lady at the front desk. Front desk staff were always very welcoming.
The rooms could use some updating. The staff was friendly at the front desk. However, I do feel that the breakfast bar attendant was stingy on protein and seemed annoyed when we asked for more. Location has easy access to toll road for a quick commute.
Large spacious rooms...I was in King Suite which had a large couch, fridge, micro, wetbar, as well as a desk/chair, and another small table with two chairs.Room are a bit dated but certainly clean and comfortable. There is a nightly reception with beer/ wine and food. Free parking.
I definitely will recommend your hotel to people I know that will be looking to stay in RSM area.Price point and the many benefits your hotel provides including the amenities, warm breakfast, meals at night, quality of the furniture, bedding were outstanding. The only thing I would suggest is probably either replace the carpet in the bedroom or minimize the seemingly stuffiness in the air. There seems to be a stuffy unique smell in the bedroom when I first came it to the room. But when we finally turn on the A/C the smell seems to have dissipated already.
My stay at Ayers Mission Viejo was the best thing about my last trip to Orange County. The room was huge. It had all the extras and a very comfortable bed.Note: The coffee at the morning breakfast beats any commercial coffee house or store bought brand.
I had booked here for 6 months. All long term refers have suddenly been told to leave since Covid-19 is over and the 4th of July weekend is coming up, so more profit for them.Meanwhile room cleaning hasnt happened over the past 8 days, since theyre understaffed.Not the best example of trading your guests right.

I stayed there for three nights and left with countless bed bug bites. This is the first time that I have ever experienced this and I will never stay at an Area Hotel again. When I called to tell the front desk (twice,), they said they would have a manager call me... Guess what, they never called. 👎
Excellent stay as always at your hotel. Everyone on your staff is right at the top of my list of Best Practices in running a 5 star hotel! They even remember to put a lightweight blanket on my bed when I visit. I only had to ask one time and now it magically appears every time I stay at the hotel. Its small touches like that which set Ayres apart from the other hotels where we stay around the country. You guys are the best!
I book a room for the day I booked instead of the day I needed. No issues - refund was issued for no show - room booked and on our way. Asked to move - we originally had a jet tub - no issue. Awesome service.Breakfast was over the top - great job.
The pandemic has stopped all Specialized, personal humanities. A struggle for morning breakfast, I struggle to have the room cleaned, a struggle to get fresh towels. Equipment in equipment in Work out room only half of it works. And why do you have elevators just on one side of the building!? Highly annoying!

My submission shows that I was quite satisfied There were some negatives that wouldnt show up from these questions. These mostly revolved around ambient hotel noise;e.g. a/c noise from nearby rooms as well as running water noise. Perhaps Im picky but I think those noises were excessive.I was also disappointed that the room given me was next door to another long-term guest who was suffering from an illness that often gave off offensive odors. I dont think you should place any guests in a room located thusly. Perhaps you could have located the patient in a more isolated area.Overall, I had a very comfortable stay and couldnt have asked for a kinder, more helpful, and caring staff than this one.
My family and have stayed at your hotel dozens of times over the years. Please extend your breakfast hours to 10:00 like most other hotels; waking up early on vacation just to be able to eat is a bummer. I was told you guys are a corporate hotel but we see mostly families in the breakfast area, not suits. The only other request would be to add free weights to the exercise facility. Lastly, we stayed there 8 days and never received new bath soap, weird.
One of my favorite experiences while traveling is to discover a surprisingly wonderful hotel. The Ayers Suites was definitely one of those. It has a warm, inviting atmosphere, an extremely well trained and attentive staff, an above average breakfast offering, and very spacious, clean rooms. I will be seeking out other Ayers properties in my future travels.
Ive stayed at the Ayres in Mission Viejo every year for the past several years and I thoroughly enjoy it each time. Its a great hotel with great staff. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and very comfortable.The room rates are also very competitive. Id recommend it to anyone!!
Loved the suite we had at Ayres. Weve been on the road for 2 weeks so it was nice to have a 2nd room to hang out in. So clean. Breakfasts were great. No fee parking awesome .
Friendly staff! Good place for an Ayres! It is near oso lake so you have a beautiful view when you go for a walk. The place is quiet. It is near Piccolino Italian restaurant that is one of the must do items in Mission Viejo!Downside is that if you want to avoid going on toll rods, it is kind of far to movie theatres and other stuff.
Really enjoyed my stay all the staff were great. Breakfast was yummy☺. Enjoyed meeting people while at pool/jacuzzi. Everyone always had smiles on there face
Loved the hotel. My only compliant is my cleaning person. She did a bad job. Didn’t wipe down the bathroom counter for days and constantly neglected to leave me with plastic cups. Not a cup in the room anywhere.
Always predictable and comforting with a great staff from front desk to breakfast. Breakfast is very good and check in/out efficient. The consistency of service, cleanliness, and comfort are what keeps me coming back.
The Room was fresh and clean when I walked in. The bed was absolutely Awesome and felt good to be in. The tub drained very slow which led me to wonder. But the Room overall was extremely done well. Huge props to you. -David Petri

I requested a wheelchair accessible room with a roll in shower. The only thing that complied with ADA standards was the shower and the closet. The bed height was too high. I could not get in the bed. The toilet didnt meet ADA standards either. It was lower than the required 17-19 height. I could not reach the pull control to turn the ceiling fan off. The counter top in the bathroom was higher than the required ADA height of no more than 34.The only reason I needed the room was because my water heater broke and I needed to have a shower and because my heating system works off of the hot water I have no heat during these cold nights until its fixed. But because I couldnt use the bed, that meant thats i could not get undressed and dressed after showering. The only thing I could manage to do with some effort was wash my hair and under arms at the sink, but because the counter top was too high my lap and jeans got soaked.The room was very nice but the lighting was too dim. I could not reach the table lamps to turn them on.I only stayed for a couple of hours and left around 1 am. The clerk charged me half price for the room which was about $68.I chose Ayers hotel because I think they are higher quality than the other hotels in the area, and newer, so I assumed I would have all of my needs met for a wheelchair user. I was very upset that I did not get what I paid for. I cannot ever go back. 2 days later and my water heater is still broken and tomorrow I will need another hotel room to shower but I will have to see if an inferior hotel will be able to meet my needs. I am surprised and shocked that Ayers hotel is not better equipped for disabled people.
I am always greeted with a smile and a quick check-in. The rooms are always clean and very comfortable. I enjoy the morning breakfast and occasionally make it back after work to enjoy appetizers and a glass of wine. You never know who you might run into. The Ayers MV staff care for the guests and make comfort a priority. GM Dean Brittles practices excellent management skills and his staff responds appropriately.
Really nice, clean hotel. Staff was super helpful and friendly. They have a great breakfast and have a good variety of food items. My kids and I had an amazing stay.
Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable. Breakfast and the happy hour were a very nice bonus.
Plenty of space in the room, great pillows, clean with decent overall aesthetics. Pool keeps the kids entertained. Also, located close to a CVS and a Sushi joint which has proven much more convenient than I would have initially guessed.
I have not been disappointed yet with a stay at Ayres. The rooms are spacious and clean. With the small bar and grill restaurant,it sure is nice to unwind with a glass of wine before turning in.
I was the family member who arranged the stay. Your front desk employee was phenomenal. So kind and helpful when she learned the purpose of our booking was for gathering the family for memorial services in honor of our father. Im blanking on her name. But she was the one who checked in the Qumiby family (two rooms) the late afternoon on 4/20/2017.
We appreciated the use of the common breakfast room for a family 40th birthday celebration we had catered during our 1 evening in town. Having little ones (3 of our grandchildren) that could move about was key to this instead of going to a restaurant.
I stay in Orange County, CA frequently and this is my goto hotel. Located off the 241, my stay is always comfortable and quiet. They have a great lobby with a fire going this time of year, a large eating area, laundry on the third floor, small gym on the 2nd floor, and outdoor pool and hottub. Every room has free wifi (which works) and wired Ethernet (which works even better), good lighting, a desk, bar, mini-fridge, microwave, breakfast table, and either a king bed with sofa/coffee table or two queens, These are big rooms. Showers and toilets were recently replaced with low-flow versions due to CA drought with the resulting issues, but a necessary component today. You can also use the spa, restaurant, and larger gym next door at the Ayres Hotel and Spa. Rooms and public spaces are kept clean, well maintained and appointed with nice decorative touches. Some oddities about this property are that the elevator is one end of the building, so you can walk a long way to your room, and the stairs take you outside with no first floor access so trips up and down require the elevator. Because they dont have a restaurant, they serve free full hot breakfast every day and happy hour meal/drinks M-Th evenings, with apples and cookies every evening at the front desk. The staff have been consistently great over my long stays here, the rooms quiet, the beds comfortable, and the room temperature good. Problems are few and fixed immediately. Ayres is an independent, local hotel chain - they offer points, but youll be coming back to SoCal for your stay. This is a great business travelers hotel but Ive also seen vacationers here and a full house of kids in wheelchairs for tennis camp. All are treated with care and respect. Highly recommended.
Fantastic location. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would give 5 stars but frankly the horrible cheap toilet paper they use is irritating, literally. Staff is wonderful!

2024-06-19 06:30:15PLEASE READ!! Jessica tried checking us in. She didn’t want to honor the early check in we received on the phone and tried charging $30. We explained we were told there would be no problem and her stern attitude was hostile as she looked at me like I’m stupid saying “I’m telling you now it’s $30”. I expressed we would file a complaint due to her lack of hospitality and she said “I don’t care” and walked away. She later came back and called Daniel who confirmed we were offered early check in with no fee and gave us our keys. Upon arriving inside the room the AC didn’t work and the TV remote in the bedroom didn’t work which we didn’t find out about until we went to the bedroom to wind down. My husband wrote a longer review and it looks like it was taken down.This is unbelievable the chain can hire workers who do not care about their guests or the company image, our taste for this property has changed. We will be hitting other sites to post our reviews and will continue to tell friends, family and co workers of our experience that radiates a team of people who lack hospitality and fail to give quality experience. The breakfast people were also rude and didn’t speak English. We’ve had better experiences at lower level chains and are shocked to what this experience was.

The carpet in the hallways and the elevator area should get a little extra love.But overall, you really cant get much better than this this for the price.It is quiet, safe, and has great views.We are very lucky to have been able to stay here for a week.

Ive stayed at other places where you need a ladder to get up on the bed. Bathroom/Shower was good size roll in shower. Hotel gounds were clean. Amenities were good. 2024-06-15 14:22:32Really enjoyed this place. It’s in a safe quiet area, yet still close to the freeway. Staff are kind. Building smells newer. They make you initial a waiver that there will be no vaping or marijuana smoking and noise needs to be down between 10pm-7am which I like. Would stay here again.

2024-04-14 16:49:57I’m a fan of the Ayres chain because of the good value, services, and size of the rooms. I booked this location to save about $50 compared to the more desirable location closer to Laguna Beach, but I probably should have spent the extra money. This location was right next to a toll highway and not close to restaurants or other conveniences. It also does not offer the managers reception, plus the breakfast offerings and service are somewhat disappointing. The biggest issue was the bed with the IKEA quality mattress. Like any Ayres, the value is good, but I think $50 extra for a better location is money well spent.

2024-01-07 18:16:41Ive stayed at the Ayres Mission Viejo many times over the past 5 years and unfortunately the quality of the hotel has deteriorated over the years. Its time for new carpets. I heard a mechanical noise that started like a motor starting and stopping from 11 pm - 2 am the first two nights I was there. I thought it was a fluke the first night so I just continued to stay in the same room. After I heard it again I reported it to the front desk and changed rooms. The second room was fine.The bed in the first room appeared to be on incline as if someone very heavy had been sleeping on one side of the bed for a long time. The second room was great and the bed was very comfortable.Breakfast is served from 6 am - 9am during the week. For late risers like myself, 10 am would be much more accommodating. There were dogs in the hotel . I didnt realize it was a dog friendly hotel. Great for people with dogs - low rent for those of us without them.Im not sure what is going on with this particular Ayres but it needs some TLC.
