We had been eating at Mahila before and during the pandemic, and she has always produced amazing and unique dishes that we have not been able to find anywhere else. Her ability to create high level Asian cuisine is out of this world. So you can imagine when she opened up Azalina we wanted to try during our 2 day trip to SF. I will say she has outdone herself again, the presentation, the flavors and the tasting menu experience is one of the best culinary experiences in SF and at a very reasonable price.

Just finished a truly incredible meal at Azalina’s. I loved every single course. Malaysian food is unique — it blends Thai, Indian, and Chinese cuisines in a unique but comforting familiar way. The flavors are fresh. The tastes are vibrant. What’s not to like!? On top of that, Azalina is one of the most talented chefs in San Francisco. If you haven’t tried Azalina’s, you are in for a treat!

We got the vegetarian prix fixe menu and it was phenomenal! From the Hawaiian papaya clove drink to the Nasi Mee, all the dishes were creative and hit just the right spot. The macadamia moon cake dessert was the perfect culmination to the culinary experience. As another reviewer says, go eat here before it gets impossible to get a reservation!

Absolutely delicious meal! We had an incredible dinner pre-pandemic in Noe and have been waiting for ages for Azalina’s to return! The prix fixe was just the right amount of food and every bite was delicious. Unique textures and ingredients and flavors that you won’t really find in most other cuisines, even most Asian ones at that.

Dont be daunted by the neighborhood! Azalinas is a San Francisco treasure. Fantastic Malaysian food, beautifully presented in a charming atmosphere, thoughtfully designed in every detail. Azalina is one of the citys finest chefs and this dining experience is not to be missed.

What an experience! We had the most delicious meal with so many flavors and sweet stories behind each one. The service was wonderful and they also had an awesome playlist going in the background. I highly recommend Azalinas - you wont regret it!

A hidden gem in the Tenderloin offering a delicious, flavorful four-course pre fixe menu with the gulf shrimp wok noodles, peanut sauce vegetables, roasted duck kurma, and panna cotta. Our server was excellent and paid extra attention to detail (exchanging utensils and wiping our table in between each course), closing the restroom door whenever it was left open, never reaching over us, etc. Our only complaint was that one of the duck courses was undercooked. We brought it to our server’s attention and were offered an alcoholic beverage on the house. $100 per person excluding service charge. Despite the one mishap, we would still return to explore Azalina’s seasonal rotation of menus!

Food was amazing. We had a fried radish cake followed by a salad with pink pineapple, then a tumeric fried fish, coconut fenugreek rice, curry with okra, and a pickled eggplant dish. I was so full I could eat the dessert, but I took it home and had an awesome breakfast the next day. The whole experience was an amazing feast.

Run, don’t walk to this place. You’ll hit the culinary jackpot. The inimitable Chef Azalina, a true Penang pro, is all about mixing her generations of heritage with her signature genius take on spices, brightness, and color. It’s personal, it’s heart-felt, and it works. The vibes were right on the money – memories of trips to the hawker markets and colonial restaurants of PG came back. For the rotating fixed menu, Azalinas taken classic Mamak and regional dishes and turned them into works of art with inspired spices and fresh flavors.Service was warm and they were all about making the meal feel like a real experience. The restaurant has its ties in its neighborhood, too, with deeply-discounted dinner nights for kids in the neighborhood. Support Azalina, support women-owned SF restaurants, and support businesses in the Tenderloin. And eat damn good food. Chef Azalinas got skills, don’t sleep on this.

We had a great time at Azalinas 2 weeks ago! We ordered the vegetarian and regular menus and were blown away by the rich flavors and aromas of such incredible cuisine. This is a gorgeous restaurant serving Mamek food (Indigenous cuisine from Malaysia) that you will not find anywhere else in SF. We were looking for adventurous food and bold flavors and we found it! Our fav dishes were the Fried Chicken app (vegan version of delicious too), the Mee Goreng (sauce was impeccable) and the macadamia moon cake (which others have praised too). We werent the biggest fans of the red tofu salad since the tofu was only in the dressing and the fermented mushroom did not suit our taste. But the drinks that are included were divine - papaya and spritzer drinks. And the portions are huge so we took home the leftovers. All in all, it was a great experience. It nice to support a restaurant that doesnt get the most foot traffic. This is a gem, folks. Check it out.
