First time here. Great experience! Great staff, a variety of delicious menu items to choose from and the cocktails were good! We tried the duck wings, pork sliders, the Cuban sandwich and the Chicken Saltado. Everything was DELICIOUS! We will definitely be back

This place is awesome! Came here to visit with family that came into town and immediately noticed just how interesting and unique the atmosphere was. Was greeted by the very friendly manager, sat down and started by ordering I would say the best old fashioned I’ve ever had! The service by Gabriella was amazing, she was super friendly and has great explanations for all our questions about the menu. Our entrees were fantastic as well, I got the garlic steak rice bowl. It was very similar to Korean BBQ and I loved it. Highly highly recommend coming to check this place out, I’ll definitely be back!

Second time ordering food, the first time was Tostones and they were awesome!Tonight I ordered the Peruvian Fried Rice with Chicken.The chicken was tender and well flavored; mixed in were pieces of pineapple and sweet peppers.The flavor combos are well done with black and regular sesame seeds topping off the huge plate of fried rice.And the bonus: an incredible cover band playing good ole classic rock!

What a fun place with great food and service. I enjoy live music, which they have frequently, and the drums and other instruments around the restaurant make for a fun decor. The ahi tuna poke bowl is wonderful. Ive already got reservations for our next visit!

Amazing place. Fantastic food. Great atmosphere. Live music frequently. Huge space. I have no idea why it isnt crowded every time we come. So fun, seriously delicious. Ropa vieja comes with rice, beans and plantains. $22 is totally reasonable for the amount of food. Apps are cheap. Great mule.

Babaloo really surprised me. By the looks of the branding and cheesy name I didn’t have high expectations but they weren’t too bad. We sat at the bar which has a deal where you get an item that includes a draft beer. The standout was the duck fat fries. Probably some of the best I’ve had. Unfortunately the chicken sandwich is dry so that’s something they may want to address with a sauce.Just beware tho, they have a live band the permeates throughout the whole restaurant. The bartender said they are there every night so that can be really annoying if you are trying to have a relaxing meal, you may wanna pass.

One of the best places in town. Beautiful restaurant for small or large parties. Great food, great service, outstanding atmosphere, 3 bars, live music, dance floor, outdoor patio with mister, bar, and koi pond. Family owned, excellent menu. Ahi tuna, calamari, duck wings, duck fat fries. fresh everything. American, Peruvian, Cuban, with a touch of .Mexican couisine. Happy hour will make you happy.

The food was excellent! The service was great. The only thing that needs improvement is the bartender. I was deciding between two different wines and I asked to sample both and the server had to talk him into it, not common when youre buying a bottle. He poured the wrong one. His pours were barely enough to taste it. And he ended up giving me the bottle that was already open. Bartending 101 teaches when someone buys a bottle of wine, the server is supposed to open it at the table. But the food is good enough to bring me back and thats what matters most.

The food here was pretty good, wasnt over salted and the house made cheesecake and rice pudding was done nicely. Not overly sweet and balanced. If you ask theyll heat up the rice pudding a bit. The Cuban cheesesteak variation was good, I recently came from philly and tried Pats and genos and those cheesesteaks are way over hyped and theyre just living off their name it seems. This cheesesteak was much more flavorful and more care went into it. Not trying to make a fuss about rice but lots restaurants cant rice right but this rice was really enjoyable not mush and not dry. The plantains here were some of the best I had, firm not mushy or burned. It be nice if they incorporated some of these plantains in their housemade desserts. Wish they had a few more sauces to go with stuff tho.

This is NOT a Cuban restaurant, food is not good by any means. As a Cuban I’m offended this is called a Cuban restaurant. Overpriced AF. I got a bistec empanizado and it was horrible; the rice and beans were edible but I didn’t bother finish my food. It’s a nice looking restaurant but it’s not worth it if the food is trash; they were also playing country music for some reason? If you like Cuban food don’t bother coming here, you WILL be disappointed.

I was with a group of 20. The server was quite experienced and handled the group very well. I ordered the Chicken Stir Fry. Very little chicken, a lot of rice and vegetables. Not something to write home about. EHH! MEDIOCRE. The music was fine, but very loud. That could be because the very large restaurant was nearly empty on A Friday evening around 7 PM.

I planned my 60th birthday at Babaloos because they were positive and responsive. I worked with Marilyn who went above and beyond to ensure I had the best experience. The food was delicious, the organization of event perfect and overall a great time by All. I had 35 people so they could handle it. And in early August too!!

I enjoyed this place so much I had to revisit during my short stay in PD. The Frank Sinatra impersonator was great and the energy was amazing. First visit I enjoyed a couple of tasty appies and my last visit included fine cigars and tequila. I can’t wait to come back. PS The staff are fun but professional.

I really enjoyed Babaloo Lounge. I had been wanting to go for a long time. The hostess was fabulous and called me ahead to see where we’d like to sit. Close to the band, or, further away. We were running a bit late after a movie so I called and said we’d be 5 minutes late. She was more than accommodating! There were five of us and three of us loved the food. I had the Lechón Asado. It was excellent! The band was great. I don’t know why there weren’t more people on a Saturday night. But the front entrance was boarded up with a “open during construction” sign. That may be a deterrent. But there was no sign of construction where we sat. I’ll definitely go back!

Omg... 3rd time here and the last. Wow... we waited 45 mins for our food to come. I ordered a chicken caesar salad and it was just plain nasty. The chicken had a good flavor even though it was cold. The salad part had ZERO and I mean...zero flavor at all. On the other hand, the drink I had was especially good. But...I was hungry, so right now my husband is driving me to another place for food.We were also told by the not-so-friendly and snooty hostess, that because we didn’t have a reservation, they couldnt seat us at a regular table or booth - we could only sit at the bar tables. After 2 hours, NO ONE was seated at any of the tables or booths.In all fairness, the manager compd our dinner, but after 3 tries Im never coming back. Its just not worth it.

This place is EVERYTHING!The food is simply the best. The staff are amazing! There is even live music to rock to or dance to before or after your meal.Marylin, one of the managers, is an exemplar in customer service. Was totally looking forward to going here but were sadly disappointed. We were looking for a good dinner on NYE and made a reservation for 7pm. Website didnt say anything about a set menu for the evening, but when we got there it seemed like a fun vibe, the set menu looked fine. We didnt have any intention of staying until the end of the night, but the place was looking festive, so we figure a few hours would be fun.The wine was good but the cocktails were very overpriced. Preset menu items came out fast and we were fed all of the courses in less than 50 minutes. The quality of the food was nowhere near expectations given the price (140 per seat). A 20% gratuity was automatic (usually what we tip anyway) but the servers were anything but attentive. We had to flag them down for EVERYTHING. My wife and i looked at each other and didnt have to say a word, this was all in all a terrible experience. A $450 dollar evening out should not leave us with a bad taste in our mouths (literally and figuratively).

One of the most amazing restaurant experiences. My wife and I came here for part of my birthday celebration. The GM was extremely generous and sat us in a more secluded section.The music, menu and atmosphere were all exceptional! Great fun! We went on a Saturday night. There was a live band that was good along with a dance floor. We ate dinner before going into the area that had the dancing. The food was very good. Its a cross between Peruvian and Cuban food. I had the gator bites for an appetizer and shredded beef for the main course. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. Employees were very friendly.

Wife took me for my birthday. It was a Friday but the place wasn’t packed. Was seated by the hostess. Nobody came by to take our order of even ask us for dinks. After over 10 minutes of waiting, we moved to the bar. We got served drinks and ordered appetizers. Appetizers didn’t arrive until 45 minutes since we sat down. Oh My Goodness - went back to BaBaloos Lounge tonight had their combination fried rice (delicious!!!) and my husbansd had their special Chicken Marsala, it was also delicious!!!! served with al dente fresh Broccoli. The band, there every Wednesday, was wonderful, playing (very well by the way) all the music we love, 60s and 70s pop and country artist. Had fun dancing. Plan to go back next Wednesday!! Never got to eat as we left after 27 minutes of waiting for the waiter to take our order. As we were walking out he states “I was going to put your order in.”But he never took our order. It is called BaBaLoo Lounge!They specialize in Cuban and Peruvian cuisines, and OMG what an incredible find this place was.The food, service, decor, and live music, made for a night my wife and I will never forget.I want to give a special shout out to the following individuals:Marilyn (General Manager)...Kind, classy lady.Allen (Server)... Sharp, polite young man.Hector (Server)... Hard worker, reminds me of my dad who also was a server, may he r.i.p.Joe (Bartender)... Where to begin. Service was absolutely brutal. Chicken Lollipop appetizers were raw. Told the waiter we weren’t paying for them and he said no problem, then charged us anyway. We were there well over an hour before being able to order dinner. Place smelled like sewer. Band was to loud. Couldn’t talk at our table. Then added a 20% tip on the bill, which the guy didn’t deserve a penny. No wonder it was 3/4 empty on a Saturday night during prime time high season. This place will be closed within a year. Oh, and tried it once before, which was even worse. Never did get our meal. Thought we’d give it a try one more time. Big mistake. Never again. Anyone asks us and it will be a big “No go!!”

The restaurant was a disapointment. Do not order steak - two of our foursome had to return their meals - TWICE! Ordered MR/Med; came out MW/Well done. the 2nd time, MR - blood rare; Med - Rare. The poor runner was the only staff with the onions to deal with us, and we were not irate (worked in restarants 20 years). No real apology from waiter; hostess would not even acknowledge us when leaving.

Amazing! Good food and smiley ambiance.We sat with great unexpected Wednesday night live music and wonderful 5-star service. There were even some dancers on the dance floor that were impressive.The food was the best part of the experience. Our party had everything from Peruvian fried rice, to seriously amazing burgers (the peanut-butter and sriracha-jelly burger was to die for), and the Cuban Mojo pork. I’ve always seen this place but never got around to trying it since I heard it tends to be an older crowd. I went last night and our server went above and beyond for everything. I literally described my taste in beer and he came back with 3 different samples all of which were great. I had their Cuban sandwich. It was pretty tasty and the presentation was nice. Just got to the desert March 1st from Chicago and have been here 3 times.What a great venue!!! The food was great, the entertainment, Tim, was AWESOME, AND staff and service, couldn’t have been better. Beautiful inside! Don’t leave the desert without trying Bubba Lou’s lounge. It’s a artistically creative chef that artfully mixes Cuban cuisine and Peruvian cuisine. The result is a symphony in your mouth. I had the shredded beef while my wife ordered the ginger steak over rice. We were not disappointed with either of the dishes. What’s more spectacular than the cooking is the thoughtful interior decor and design. I like that they have indoor tables and also an outdoor patio with a nice Koi pond feature.I seen that they have live music on certain nights for sure on Friday night because they were setting up while we were there. We did not stay for the music but perhaps another time we will go back and try it. The serving staff was attentive and on top of their game. I have nothing bad to say about our meal, experience, or the time we had at this restaurant. I definitely would go back again and encourage everyone who wants something different than the run-of-the-mill franchise restaurants to go and try this out. There is nothing cookie-cutter about this place it is a unique experience to go and have a meal at this restaurant. The only thing for me that was missing was Desi Arnaz walking in the front door.

Went here recently on a weekday, early afternoon. One other table in the bar with 2 guys at it. We 2 sat in the bar also. Service was rather slow and not particularly friendly or engaging. But the drinks, Pisco Sour, were really good. Had the 2 Piccadillo sliders which were ok but WAY too heavily salted and not enough green olives. The Yucca fries were ok but a $6 for 5 of them a little bit much. Drinks are expensive at $15 each.Went again on Sunday. Different bartender and Pisco Sours were totally different but they were correct, as opposed to the earlier ones we had.Bill arrived with a wrong charge of more for the duck fat fries than what is on their menu. Be SURE you check your bill. Not sure the duck fat fries were actually fried in duck fat as they didnt really have that taste. But they were ok.

The service and food was phenomenal. Hector, the server took the time to suggest items on the menu, going into great detail. My glass never stood half full for more than a couple seconds. I’m updating my review and I can only do it this way since Google only allows one review per month. My husband and I went to Babaloo Lounge for the second time. We had such a fun evening, and we really needed that after we had such a stressful day yesterday. Chris was our waiter, and he was excellent. The first time my husband and I went to Babaloo Lounge we went earlier around 5:00 P.M. or 5:30 P.M. at that time there wasn’t music playing until later in the evening, which was fine for us. Last night, we dined a little later in the evening. Our reservation was for 7:30 P.M. We were able to listen to music while dining. There were people having a great time dancing to the music. I almost wanted to get up and dance myself. I probably would have if my husband and I had a less stressful day. Babaloo Lounge, honored my requests in my reservation. When I make a reservation, and a restaurant doesn’t pay attention to my request, it’s frustrating. Babloo Lounge evidently paid attention and I appreciate that so much. This is an upscale place, so it’s not cheap. However, my husband and I didn’t mind paying because this is more of a dining experience, than just a restaurant. Neither one of us think that is overpriced. My husband isn’t cheap, but he’s frugal. He didn’t seem to mind the price. Someone asked me yesterday, at the Resort we are staying at, what is my favorite restaurant in the Palm Desert area. My answer was Babaloo Lounge. I asked my husband the same question, his answer was Babaloo Lounge. After the experience we had last night, we both answered same Babaloo Lounge. I know Babaloo Lounge has found at least two life long customers as long as the quality of the food, service, atmosphere, and cleanliness stays the same.I’ve been meaning to post a review for Babaloo Lounge.My husband spotted Babaloo Lounge. The live music was fun, and the food was amazing. Its very hard to find good Cuban food around here, so I was thrilled to see this restaurant and give it a try. Did not disappoint. Go for basics like the Ropa Viejo, and an order of tostones, but be sure to venture deeper into the menu and try the alligator and other fun and unique items. Food and service were terrible.For a starter, I had the escargots and they brought almost a flat dish with not enough butter and garlic to dip the bread.I had a peruvian dish called aji de gallina and it tasted awful. Flavor was totally different compared to an authentic peruvian dish. It is a shame they serve it as a Peruvian dish because I am peruvian and our food is really exquisite and this was terrible.We also had a Cuban dish called picadillo and it was not good. The ground beef instead of having a salty seasoning it even tasted sweet. The black beans were tasteless.And for dessert we had the bread pudding and it was so hard that even the steak knife will not cut it.They brought the check for almost $110 and we were being charged for a margarita and a burger we never ordered. After they corrected the check we paid like $75 for the most awful food we ever ate.

The place was gloomy and had a musk / mold type smell when walking in. Only two tables were occupied during DINNER time. When the host said to seat ourselves, we chose a booth. We took a dear friend of ours from Cuba there to test drive the Cuban-Peruvian cuisine. The food was okay but not necessarily fully Cuban. Apart from the food being so-so, the atmosphere, (loud and joyful), also included cigar & cigarette smoking out on the patio which was intrusive as we were trying to eat said Cuban food on the patio; maybe appropriate for those who like Cuban cigars, but does not mix well with non-smokers and their food. If we had chosen to stay indoors, everybody was maskless. The Caribbean style music was up so loud there was no way anybody could have a conversation which is why we were forced to go out on the patio. Then a band came on to play their music, none of which reflected Cuba or Peru. Instead, we watched a bunch of aging cowboys boot scooting and line dancing to everything from Creedence Clearwater Revival to todays top country hits--which was fun to watch but inconsistent with the beautiful decor and theme of the restaurant. We wont be back.
