2018-05-04 13:49:55Today I tried the noodle and fried meatballs, It was delicious! My favorite Indonesian food restaurant so far! 😋😁👍🍜 My other favorite is the Kremes Fried Chicken with Indonesian Sour Soup. Their Siomay also pretty good too.

2023-08-25 08:35:57Find a different Indonesian restaurant! This place banana leaf scammed me with my online order. There was a promotion on uber eats for buy 1 get 1 free fried rice and they decided to charge me for both individually. They adjusted the price on the app! It shouldve been free! But yeah dont come to this place they will rob you! Also their food portion is stingy and mediocre.

2020-04-15 00:07:39Banana Leaf is a small Indonesian restaurant on Temple City blvd and Las Tunas. I was in the mood for southeast asian food and decided to look for the best authentic food around my neighborhood. Interior atmosphere was welcoming and its neat and well organized. They have a plethora of food selection on the menu. I decided to try their Mie Goreng Jawa (Fried Noodle) with mixed vegetables, sliced chicken strip, shrimps and eggs. Its soft, flavorful and tasty. They give huge portion, perfect for adult man with voracious appetite such as myself. Service was fast. Prices were fair and affordable. Parking lot and street parking are available. Overall I had a good food and takout experience. I will definitely come back and I highly recommend Banana Leaf.

2019-11-03 17:56:12Its a nice small family-run restaurant. Its the closest authentic South East Asian food restaurant around. The tahu goreng had a great peanut-based sauce over fried tofu and salad. I felt the was not enough tahu and unbalanced. The Java fried chicken was matched well with the samba chili. Something not on the menu but on the specials sign is roti prata with curry at $3.99. I have not seen that dish offered around the Los Angeles area. The cendol did use gula melaka and tasted great. The green jelly in the cendol was however too tough.

2023-05-24 19:28:30Their food is the best for those whose had homesick of their origin from Indonesia. I love their generosity portion for each meal. Not to mention as someone origin from Indonesia, I love spicy food and they gave me lot amount of the spicy chili (which I think its the best and that would made me want to reorder again).

2019-09-07 05:54:52Prices are keep on goin up in this resto while the portion is getting smaller but this place is still popular for Indonesian food. Taste wise were okay, customer service was great

2022-01-05 03:59:04Very sad to go order. I heard about this place for a long time and finally got a chance to try. I had randang and was surprised that it didn’t come with rice. I don’t know if they charge extra for rice but this dish definitely is a rice dish. Secondly, this randang is very spicy and no other aroma. The beef itself is very dry not tender.

2023-04-04 03:01:19I came to this place today because I have been have been craving for Indonesian food for a while. This review is not to throw shade at the cuisine but to this place. I ordered the Nasi Padang and wasnt disappointed except for their chicken curry in the Nasi Padang. I was disappointed because as soon as I split the chicken from the bone, it smelled really bad! The chicken was not fresh! Coming from a culture that doesnt like to waste food, I still took a stab at it and to be honest, the chicken was horrible! It tasted and looked like the chicken was rotting away and they still decided to cook it. Talk about food safety. I couldve gotten sick from it. Very disappointed in what I came out here for. I chose this place because the other Indonesian places were either fusion of Thai and Chinese mashed alongside Indonesian food which was not what I was looking for. No doubt the menu is good (theyre the only ones in the area that were open and had authentic dishes) but please if you are the owner of this place and you are reading this, please practice food safety before any of your customers practice their right to sue you for damages because of food poisoning. Needless to say, I would not come back here again and I would not recommend this place to anybody.
