Thai spot in Santa Monica with familiar plates. Came here on a Monday evening for dinner with a friend around 6:30pm and there were a surprising amount of people there, but we got a table immediately. Indoor dining only (no outdoor seating). Takeout available. Credit cards accepted.For our appetizer, we an order of the small Thai egg rolls. These were vegetarian and came in six for the small order. They were nice and crunchy but I would order a different appetizer. For the entrees, we ordered a side of sticky rice, pad Thai, and green curry. The pad Thai was tasty and there was a generous amount. There was a small amount of beef in the green curry but I did enjoy the sauce. There’s plenty of vegetarian options and they do have some vegan options as well. Overall a great casual neighborhood spot.

We were looking for Thai and this popped up with 4.2 star reviews. Small, light wood dining room. We had to wait as MANY to go orders flew out ahead of us.( a great sign😉) A gorgeous huge fried catfish walked by with several heaping platters of deliciousness and we couldnt wait to order. We normally never order pad thai cause its boring, but was advised by waiter to try..amazing! We also tried garlic noodles, dumplings and duck and sausage which was cooked in clay pot. All were super fresh and flavorful. We will be coming back. Servers were super helpful, friendly and quick!!

Very cute for dates! Service was amazing. Not only did they make us feel welcome but made sure we have everything we needed! Food was amazing as well! The Thai tea wasnt too sweet it was very good! My favorite dish definitely is the pad thai noodles and the dumplings! Definitely would go back.

Me and my friend were on a 6 day vacation in LA. On our 2nd day, we stumbled upon this restaurant. I am so glad that we found this place because it was amazing ! The food was great and the service amazing. So great, that during our 6 day stay we came back… 3 times ! A special thank you to our waitress Paulla that was super friendly and always greeted us with a big smile. Also a big thank you to her colleague that remembered us on our last night and helped me out with my phone charger.Thank you and see you again the next time we stop by in LA ! 😁🙏

My friend and I had such a great time here. The food was great, and the waitstaff was super friendly as well. It was our go-to place for dinner during our trip, and as such we came back 2 more times, always to excellent food and great service! Stumbled upon this cute restaurant and grabbed dinner here. I found them to be one of the most vegetarian friendly restaurants I’ve ever seen in the US. They have indicated many of the meat dishes on their menu as “can be made vegetarian” which is very helpful. Our server recommended lychee iced tea and I’m so glad I ordered it. It was fantastic! We got Panang curry and Thai red curry with jasmine rice. Both were delicious. Curry portion size is extremely generous. Service was super quick, very friendly and overall we loved our visit here. Restroom is super clean as well.

Saturday night was our first time here. I cant believe I lived in Santa Monica for so long and didnt know about it. Thats what happens when you drive most of the time. We were walking by and on our way somewhere else for dinner when we stopped in. We love Thai food and the place was beautiful and inviting . We stayed for dinner and had Panang curry with pork and pad Thai and it was delicious!! Their hot sake is one of the best Ive tasted (we just wish it was a larger size:)Our server, Sydney was wonderful! She was friendly and helpful and made our first visit to Bangkok West Thai a great experience.Thank you!

Place seemed short staffed, it was very busy so service took a while but every staff member was nice. Food was mediocre at best. Asked for spiciest level for both my dishes but they were not spicy at all (I’m assuming it’s to cater to the majority of guests who can’t handle real spice!) the prices were also very high—much higher than normal for Thai dishes.

Ordered takeout there on my visit to LA. Definitely top of the line Thai food but it is a bit expensive (I guess that’s normal for LA). The Tom Yum soup has real ginger in it which really hit the spot. I decided to be a bit basic and get the Chicken Pad Thai which was also really good. I was pleasantly surprised by all the food. I’ll definitely come back here if I’m in the area again.

Visited Bangkok West Thai late at night just before closing (arrived at 8 PM when closing at was 9 PM), and selected the Pho Noodle under Famous World Soup category since that was what I was craving. I wasnt really too impressed because the flavors were a bit bland, but maybe thats on me for selecting a Pho dish at a Thai restaurant. Theres a wide variety of items on their menu and I feel like there were probably other options I couldve picked that wouldve landed better, since everything else around looked really good. Would definitely visit to try something else.

A place to ABSOLUTELY avoid.I walked in with my partner, all the tables are empty (except one table with two customers).The staff showed us two tables (for 2) that are on the corners of the restaurant. We kindly asked if we can be seated on a bigger table because we were planning to order a lot of food. The waiter told us that he can’t give us a bigger table because they are for bigger groups. We told him that entire restaurant is empty and it shouldn’t be a big deal. He gave us an attitude and told us that he can’t do that. So we left.I would understand if the restaurant was busy or if there was a line.This is a story of “how to loose a business by acting like you are doing a favor to customers by getting paid to serve them food.”

BWT was a great place for a quick meal. The meals are very large portions and we left full for a day of walking and shopping in Santa Monica. The interior is nicely decorated as well. While its not the best Thai food I have ever eaten, it was tasty and satisfying. I would recommend it if you want some Thai near shopping in Santa Monica.

One of the best Thai restaurants in town. I love Bangkok Rolls dish, 😋the best sauce I ever taste in my life, creamy and tasty; its a perfect combination. Then its Rote with a yellow curry dipping sauce with spicy and sweet coconut cream. I am already full after this appetizer. Now spaghetti khee maw (spicy), a smells of hot basil, chilies pepper, I cant stop eating after the first bite. They are so good. Highly recommended 👍👍👍

Nice cozy comfortable place with great service and amazing food. The portions were good for one and the balance of flavors and hot spice was perfect. I was there on vacation with the family and went to several pricey restaurants, but Bangkok West was the real surprise, for half the price of the other restaurants we got a meal that was twice better. Easily the best meal we had on that vacation, their fried rice is probably the best Ive ever head -- and as New Yorker, I had many -- the restaurant is also very pleasant and the staff is beyond friendly, I also had a great soup, and a great yellow curry, as well as an amazing desert which is thai version of a crepe but that even being on a strict diet, I could not resist. Truly a great restaurant and I would go there again when I am back in LA.

Hate to give just 1 star - but there was nothing good about my experience. Food was bland, over cooked and soggy. I had the Ginger Soup....no taste of Ginger and the Jasmine rice was overcooked and mushy. Had Pad Se-eau as well - no flavor at all...no broccoli either. Also had the gyoza, again flavorless and soggy. I had to wait for at least an hour for my order, and expected it to be hot! Fresh and flavorful. It was none of those. I understand shot staff, but if this is how the food taste...then it gets the 1 star. :(

The place looks really nice and the table settings are pretty. So it gets 2 stars for that. They used a ton of plates, i dont know why plate over plate over plate, but thats OK I guess. Thing is the food wasnt good, though excellent Thai tea. I ordered pineapple fried rice and it tasted a little burned with a lot of rice, just 2 shrimp and 2 pieces of chicken. Then, my boyfriend got the hot and sour soup and he returned it. Changed for mamas chicken soup and the broth was actually good but then the chicken in it was really hard. I had to chew a piece of it like 80 times, like hard rubber. The chicken satay (Thai sticks) were alright and it came with a little seasoned cucumber garnish that was actually really good. I saw that they prepared veggies very well, they looked good but on other peoples table. The waitress didnt come check on us and the place wasnt that busy. Had to wait a long time to get my order in and to get the check.Not coming back. I regret not hitting a Panda Express instead of spending $50 over there.

The atmosphere and decorations was quite a treat, the artwork was beautiful. The food was spectacular, I got a roasted duck curry that was flavored very well. The service was ok, my table ordered an appetizer and after the waiter visited twice (first when we received our food, and second a check in) we had to cancel because of false assurances and already having our entrees. In the future, because I will go again, I hope this was a rare oversight and not common so this restaurant can receive the 5 stars I believe it truly deserves.

Mediocre is the best way to describe this experience. It took 20 minutes for someone to take my order when there were only two others in the restaurant. I ordered Tom kha, had three bites, but it lacked that zest lemon kick so it was just spicy coconut broth. The pad Thai was average at best, a dish I normally devour in a few minutes that I pushed around on the plate. Their xlb was the best cooked dish with the best flavor. I don’t know if I ordered the wrong dishes or came on an off night but honestly don’t know how they are in business.

Placed an order an hour before their closing time through Postmates, and after 53 minutes they cancelled our order. When I called to inquire, I was told that it was too close to closing time, they didnt get to our order, and that next time we should just call in the order. I do feel if theyd prefer customers not use Postmates then they should take themselves off Postmates. By the time they cancelled our order, we were not able to place orders most other places as it was five minutes until 9.

I swear I ordered Spicy Ramen with Beef. The waitress (Aoki) then asked how spicy and I told her medium. I get a Pad Ke-May Beef. Not sure what the hell this was. I looked at her confused and she just walked away. I was told by a different waitress that is what she had written down that I had ordered. If you want a surprise for lunch this is the place to go, but if you want what you ordered you should try somewhere where they listen to the customers.

I know this is a Thai restaurant but for the few times Ive gone here, Ive always gotten a pho. Dont judge me. Im just a regular DTSM girl craving for some Viet soup that the area unfortunately does not come with.Their pho is okay. Its not like the genuine ones you get from a whole in the wall pho place but it gets the job done. And when youre craving it, you just gotta have it.Their customer service has always been great. 5 stars what it is. And what is that?Without question, the most beautiful, elegant Thai restaurant in L.A. Whoever designed it should get some kind of award.The food? Very good. I focus on a few dishes which have always drawn me to Thai restaurants. My favorite dish is Tom Kha Gai soup. And there is amongst the best Ive had - creamy, lush, decadent, and big, big flavor. I have no had better - not in Thai town, not at Jitlada. Theres is the best Ive tried (I havent tried every Thai restaurant in L.A., but certainly the well regarded ones including Talesai, Night + Market, Jitlada, Emporium Thai (which has a very charming room). This dish alone will keep me coming back. The Yum Gai soup is also very good (a great weight-watcher meal). The satays are great, cooked correctly with good quality ingredients. Duck, chili/cashew nut chicken,curries, calamari. Also find things on the menu that deviate from the usual. Which is always a good idea. Everything has always been very good. Glad I dont have to drive far for this place.
