I ordered the waffle and Vietnamese coffee. Will be back to try the sandwiches. Sandwiches style is from Cambodia. Its a great opportunity to try out Cambodias taste in Socal. Hopefully the business goes well so there will be more to try.

Finally got to visit this place! My Facebook feed has been nagging me for 3 days! I ordered a Crispy Belly banh mi on a charcoal baguette. The service was really great, no problems with ordering (spoke the same language, English). The place was clean (inside), outside is a whole other story. This section of Beach Boulevard is notorious for homelessness. The banh mi itself was underwhelming; it was good but the charcoal baguette seems to have an aftertaste. The crispy belly was not crispy but the veggies inside were. The banh mi was a little steep too, over $8 but nowadays everything pretty much is!

I came back the second time to tell the owner the meat he served last time was old. I gave him a chance to make it good this time. Today the bread is days old. It all fell apart when I bite it.I don’t recommend this store! There are much better stores just a few minutes driving away

Had a pork belly banh mi with extra pate and a Vietnamese iced coffee at 8 am. The bread was crispy and fresh; the pork belly had a delightful chewy rind that I will be back for, and the pate had a buttery subtone. The iced coffee was creamy and sweet. Service was prompt and friendly. The only minus was that it was expensive (compared to the banh mi I was used to in SGV). Will be back!

1st and LAST to buy sandwhich here! My husband and I had to fight for restroom breaks all afternoon until midnight after eating the house special and crispy pork belly on charcoal sandwhich here! 😳 The bread were not fresh either; its too hard & stale!

Please please please go here!!! We stumbled on this place while in the area and boy I am glad we did! The owner was super nice and recommended stuff for us to try. We got the pandan waffle, the crispy pork bahn mi, grilled bbq pork bahn mi and bought a loaf of his charcoal bread. The pandan waffle was perfectly crisp and had great flavor. Both bahn mi were excellent the meat was perfectly cooked and all the toppings were bomb. The charcoal bread was crisp fluffy and had a lot of added flavor from the sesame seeds.This man makes everything in house!! The bread, pickles, meat. Definitely try it. And if you like alot of meat on your sandwich definitely order extra it’s totally worth it!!!!

Being Vietnamese and growing up in little Saigon its nice to see more Viet businesses branch out to other parts of the OC. I never saw black Banh mi and have seen squid ink buns in asia, so thought I tried it. You dont taste anything different with the black buns but I loved that they toasted the Banh mi and the feelings were delicious and even the pickled veggies didnt smell too strong.Coffee was also thick and creamy and I loved it. They take card too. Only thing was waiting area was super warm from the Banh mi ovens.

1st time and also will be the last time show up to this place. I dont think I ever come back again. Waste my money. The food is old and cold, and the drink tastes so yucky. This store will not last for 1 or 2 more years. if they keep making foods that way.

Dont let the charcoal Bread color deceive you its actual pretty good. Its softer then the normal bread. different then any other banh mi place Ive been.

This was my second time buying from this place and I regret my decision. 😒 First time their banh mi was mediocre, It wasn’t that good. I decided to buy it a second time to see if they could redeem themselves, but I guess I thought wrong.I ordered 4 banh mi; one of them is that “coal” bread or that black colored bread. Well that bread has a weird taste to it. I can’t describe it, it probably has to be something with the “coal” or the coloring they put into it. How do I put this; I had already ate half of a sandwich my sister couldn’t finish and I thought it was pretty good (it was a meat type of banh mi) but I wasn’t full yet to I cut another half. I took the carrots and daikon out because I was going to reheat it. As I was waiting at the table, watching YouTube, I see this thing crawl out of the carrots and daikon. It was a small bug. 😟 I already ate half of a banh mi from them. My stomach turned from seeing that thing come out of the food I was supposed to be eating.It might’ve just been that one banh mi, but I can’t risk something like that. A bug in my banh mi. My dad already ate a full banh mi with all it’s condiments in it, specifically the carrots and daikon.

Order the cold cut charcoal bread banh mi. The bread has seasame. The bread texture good and so is the mayo. The meat are flavorful. The owner was a pleasant person to converse. I would rather have this banh mi over Carrots and Daikon.

Had to write a review because this place doesnt have as much recognition as they deserve! They make delicious banh mis made with charcoal bread (not only does it look cool, but it tastes great too! I cant really pinpoint what flavor the charcoal baguette has but it almost has a little more umami flavor than your average banh mi baguette). My dad and I have had a lot of banh mis and this place didnt disappoint! I got the chicken charcoal banh mi and my dad got the house special charcoal banh mi. They were able to fix our baguettes up real quick (as we were in a hurry to get to a concert) and did an excellent job! They put enough fixings with the right proportions (which to me is pretty crucial in any sandwich) and the chicken was seasoned well!Overall, we both enjoyed it and would definitely come back! :)

I got the grilled chicken and my husband the pork belly.....Aaaaamazing! It all tasted fresh and full of flavor. The charcoal baguettes are crunch and soft inside. Cant wait to go back and try more food!

Delicious food, the workers are so kind. the bread is so unique compared to other viet sandwiches places (the charcoal doesn’t affect the flavor at all its a little more buttery tho which is a +). definitely will be coming back everytime i come down here.

No Dine in option. Looks like the owner was the o ly one working. The house special bahn mi was salty and yogurt ice coffee was gross. I guess some people might like it if they LOVE Greek yogurt.

Still need to taste the charbroiled bread, as they had none when we stopped by, they said is the most popular bread, the standard bread tasted ok, but nothing that I can consider to come back as other places offer. A very similar flavor but cheaper

Rude workers and mediocre food. You guys literally served us inedible food. Our bread was light grey but the bread was the only good and edible part of the sandwich. We wont be coming back.

I dont normally do reviews, but when I took that first bite of my Banh Mi! First words where Trời ơi ngon quá had me speaking Vietnamese and Im not Vietnamese. So I had too write one. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves banh mi or is their first time trying it! I got the Grilled Pork BBQ with charcoal bread and boy was it delicious 😋 100/10 ❤

In addition to the fact that the bahn mi have little filling, they should warn about the heat of the jalapeño that they put in it. It was so spicy that I couldnt finish my bahn mi. I had to throw more than half in the trash.
