We ate at Banh-mi for the first time today, after shopping at Trader Joe’s. We had planned on going to have a pizza. I am so happy that we decided to stop in. Thomas Tran, the owner, suggested that we give his food a try and he would have it ready after our grocery trip. We ordered the pork sandwich and a large bowl of Bun Bo Hue (a spicy, not hot, beef soup w vegetables). My wife and I shared this lunch and Thomas gave us an extra bowl for the soup dish. WOW! That was good!!! I can’t wait to return again. They even make their own bread for the sandwiches. The vegetables ❤️❤️❤️❤️It is such a low key location. Even the interior doesn’t really give away the food experience about to happen in your mouth.If you like things spice, ask for their home made pepper sauce and put a little in the soup and sandwich. Your brain will go to heaven. I’m from an island off Asia, and this is the real deal here. Never settle for a burger and fries - ever!!! Fresh. Simple. Consistent. I had the grilled pork sandwich, Poke, and spring rolls. Foods are amazing and come out quick. Plenty of seatings. Hard to beat a good $9 bahn mi in the Bay Area! High recommend

One of the best poke food I’ve had in the Bay Area! I came around 6pm and everything was still fresh. Will definitely be coming back for more to try other combinations.The Banh Mi is also better compared to other Banh Mi I’ve had around the area.

Excellent selection of sandwiches and Poke. Excellent French bread, good fast service. They open at 10 am to 8 pm. Been coming here for almost 5 years and never had any problems. A must stop if your in the area. Highly recommended.

I dont easily give 5-stars but this place deserves it. Fresh and tasty ingredients, great price-to-value a definite to do list when in Brentwood. If you buy several sandwiches and have leftovers the next day, just pop them in the toaster oven or air fryer for a bit and you have a fresh sandwich again, thats how great the bread/baguette is.Their new grilled Chicken Vermicelli is delicious!

The poke and rice dish were fine. But the milk tea (no boba) ruined the experience. Ive had a lot of boba in my day, but this was the first time I threw away the drink having only sipped it. It tasted like watery sweet milk with a strange aftertaste... :(

I’ve had their poke bowls and enjoy them very much. I decided to get a sandwich and opted for the grilled chicken. The chicken was dry, room temperature and had the consistency of chicken jerky in a non-delicious way. Parts of the chicken were not edible. I don’t know if it was cooked the prior day or just over cooked. They had a big sign that said no returns or refunds so I ate what I could and disposed of the rest. I’ll stick to the bowls or ask for freshly cooked meat next time.

If I was rating the cat I would give a 5/5 but this just so happens to be a restaurant with a top of the line stray cat outside (pure luck, surely taken for granted). The sandwiches are pretty good although mine did not come with pate (sad). Boba was good albeit too sweet and took so long I started to worry they were having to leave out the backdoor to go down the street to buy boba for cheaper and then resell to me at a premium. Overall Id rate this cat very highly.

Always hear of that hole in the wall restaurant. This is it! Small place but makes up for it with its tasty food. Im not a fan of Pho, but the one served there is tasty and delicious. The staff are great and friendly. My wife had a sandwich to go and she loved it. The portion was very generous and again delicious. Will visit again for sure

The broth was super spicy.....I had the shrimp pho and it was cocktail shrimp...small and tasted funny. Husband had the meatball pho and the broth was spicy as well. Poke bowl was good. Spring rolls were good but did not have noodles in them. Instead they had the Pickled veggies from the sandwich which Ive never had before, I was good. But not worth $80.

I got the poke and the fish wasn’t too good. Kind of hard and chewy with little flavor. The spicy mayo was a little too spicy for me too. I added avacado and they gave the tiniest 3 slices for $1.50. Food prices are up though so maybe they need to save money. The seaweed salad was good and the pineapple chunks tasted sweet and fresh. Not sure if I will go back but then again it’s the only poke in town other than Safeway which sucks. My husband said their sandwiches are great.

I used to like this place when Minh owned it. I got a large poke bowl last night and it had 7 cubes of ahi in it. I assure you that if I had watch him make my bowl he wouldn’t have gotten away with that but I ordered and then came back in 10 minutes and it was already made. Very very disappointed

Pretty disappointed in this place, dont waste your time if you want bahn mi. Barely any meat and a bunch of veggies on the combination sandwich. When you put more veggies it overpowers it cause the veggies is season with vinegar. Smh. Asked for extra liver paste and they barely added anything. Train your workers to make an easy sandwich. If the owners are vietnamese and trained their workers like this they should be ashamed for it.

First time visit. Ordered two Bahn mi chicken. The vegetables were fresh and delicious but the chicken was dried out as if it was cooked a week ago. I love Bahn mi however this place was a disappointment. Always give your customers fresh food especially since they are almost 10 dollars on average each. They want tips which I gave but now I regret after getting my sandwich home.

Love coming here for the poke bowls. Lady that usually serves me is nice and helpful. Everything is freshly made and love the different flavors I get with every bite I take out of the poke bowl. Havent tried the sandwiches, but they sound delicious. Would have to get a sandwich one day. Would recommend.

Best sandwiches on earth! They have a house spicy sauce that is amazing! the services is great and the place is clean. Update. Recently, I have not seen the owner or the young man that used to work their often. Whenever I ordered the poke bowl, they would give heaping scoopfuls of protein. But the employees that work the front now, give small amounts of protein for each scoop. I feel like they are starting to skimp which I absolutely hate when emoloyees do that. I was also told I couldnt have extra massage, but the owner used to oblige me and put extra. They did that for other customers that asked. But not any more, which brings me to regretfully lower my rating. The sandwiches are still excellent, but they are starting to skimp on the poke bowls, the protein and toppings, even the large 4 protein bowl. Where as I used to have leftovers, I can finish now. The pho is still excellent as well as all their sandwiches. I was told the owner opened up another restaurant. I will check it out.Excellent Banh Mi. Sandwich was nice and full of meat and vegetables. The way its supposed to be. I had the grilled pork but will be back to try the other offerings as well as the poke. Not many choices, as there are only 4 choices of Banh Mi, and the poke bowl but sometimes simple is better.

I was skeptical of the high reviews, but they’re well deserved. The grilled pork bahn mi was one of the best I’ve had. The flavor was balanced: not overloaded with mayo or vegetables. I finished my kids’ pho, and it was really good too. I live in the South Bay, surrounded by Vietnamese restaurants, and this place is better than most.

Ive been a loyal customer of Bahn Mi Express for a while but not anymore. I have found some hair in my food, multiple times. In one instance, I picked up my order, about $80 worth of it, I got home and realized how much hair was in the food so I threw it all away - the restaurant asked me to come back for some replacements but I was so disgusted, I took a loss. I usually order about $75 to $100 of food for my family. Surprisingly, they didnt add any Unagi sauce to my big order because I didnt pay the required 25 cents at the time I was placing the order. MIND-BLOWING!!! For 25 cents, you refuse to add Unagi sauce on a $75-$100 order, UNBELIEVABLE! Then they inform you at the time of pick-up.

I ordered by phone and was told my sandwiches will be ready in 20 minutes. I came there 25 minutes after I called and I was told my sandwiches were not ready even when I was 5 minutes late. I paid for my sandwiches and waited inside for more than 15 minutes. It took one hour since I called to get my sandwiches. I’m very disappointed. Bad customer service. Big banh mi sandwiches. They dont really customize your order if you ask ex: extra pate or jalepenos they will nod and say yes but they make all their sandwiches the same. Mediocre banh mi for $6 or more. They are also understaffed. Has one person taking orders, cashiering, and making poke bowls while there are 2 people in the back working (shout out to that gentlemen, he was working hard). Not going back.
