2023-12-09 05:46:41Very nice Greek restaurant in downtown Los Altos. This is a fairly new restaurant and this was our first time here. The weather was nice and sunny so we sat outside. The service was really good and so was food. We had Tzatziki which was really good and the Vegetarian Risotto was delicious. Kotopoulo Souvlaki was very good but you only get three small cut pieces of chicken in the dish. Had a glass of wine and you get a nice pour. We will be back again to try other dishes.

2023-11-13 08:28:29Pros:Decor and service were excellent. Renovation and tableware choices were a piece of art.Like the pork chop entree.Cons:Waited 45 min for the entrees. There were plenty of flies bothering us. This is unacceptable for a high end restaurant. Some dishes were mediocre compare to the price. I would expect sth better at those prices. Eg the $23 salmon muffin is basically a onepiece benedict. The $32 linguini was tiny.

2023-12-05 04:21:30Overall a solid addition to Los Altos. The food was good, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere is nice. Prices are a bit on the high side but that seems to be the trend in the Bay Area. Ill be back.

2023-10-18 00:36:47Stopped by to try this new restaurant in Los Altos with a super promising outdoor seating area and beautiful decor but management is sloppy. Bathrooms are not well kept / dirty for a new restaurant, and there is only one POS machine for all the waiters to use. Also, the head chef (I believe head chef - was dressed in white) came out to speak to all the tables and was chatting to pretty much all customers expect me and my mom who was visiting from out of town. We would have been fine if he was only coming back one or two tables but he was saying hello and introducing himself to everyone / all the tables except us which at that point comes across discriminatory as we were the only Asians sitting in the restaurant at that time. Nobody was refilling water during night and many tables had long wait times because of the hold ups at terminal and seemed that tables were left alone. 2 of those faux palm tree plants fell over and shattered their too small pots while we were seated. Our waiter was great and friendly but overall, place needs better management for a high end restaurant as it is not a hole in the wall place with prices to match.

2023-10-12 05:30:19Incredible experience! We really enjoyed our dinner at Barbayani. Each dish was delicious, the portion sizes were perfect and the food arrangements were elegant and exquisite. Definitely recommend ordering lamb meatballs - very tender, and saganaki came out with astonishing presentation - flambéed at table! The staff was very professional and friendly. Overall atmosphere was warm and cozy. I highly recommend this place for family or romantic dinners!

2023-11-12 16:35:37Great service and energy. The menu is similar to other high end Greek restaurants in Palo Alto, but the prices are a bit more reasonable. The mezzes were very good and the entrees were flavorful. Overall, a great new addition to the Los Altos restaurant scene.

2023-10-30 17:32:51Discovered this new restaurant at Los Altos downtown and loved their beautiful blue & white atmosphere. We ordered the tasting platter and it was the best. It was very fresh, texture just perfect, taste wonderful. I can’t stop eating Taramosolata, tzatziki, & melitzanosalata. Triokafteri was too heavy for me but my husband liked it.Waiter said Paidakia is their popular dish. We tried & enjoyed, good quality lamb & very well cooked with amazing sauce. I will surely bring friends to there soon.

2023-10-21 16:49:35The restaurant has only been open for a short term so perhaps there are still some teething problems to be addressed. The branzino felt more like pickled herring than a Mediterranean fish, overpowered by the sauce. My saganaki was lovely (a bit thin?), but missing the breadcrumbs because I have celiac disease and there was no gluten free bread. My wife had wonderful bread and olive tapenade to start but I just looked on mournfully since there was no gluten free bread. I wanted the meatballs for my starter but they turned out not to be gluten free, which is a shame because they are one of my favourite items in similar restaurants. My wife felt that her lamb was a bit undercooked for medium rare but we could not get anyone’s attention in a reasonable amount of time so she ate it anyway, and despite the rareness it was very flavourful. The greens were drenched in too much raw-ish garlic (and we usually love garlic!). I had the scallops which were good, slightly burned around the edges and a bit over salted. The risotto the scallops came with was a bit incoherent with too much going on and I did not manage to finish it. My wife enjoyed a delicious glass of red Greek wine. We’re really glad to see another restaurant come to Los Altos that has high potential. Right now it seems uncompetitive in price performance compared with ASA around the corner, where as a celiac sufferer I can eat just about everything on the menu. We look forward to returning in a few weeks to see how things have developed.

2023-10-27 16:00:12The saganaki was the best we have ever had. The feta cheese with red pepper and garlic was fabulous. I really loved the mashed potatoes with spinach. The lobster linguine was good.
