2023-10-29 01:25:18Intimate gem of a spot next to County Square market in Vacaville. Indonesian food. Cute decor, QR code ordering and payment was really easy. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially when explaining the dishes.Food was delicious! We will be back to try other things on the menu but the shrimp fried rice was excellent. We also had the Beef Rendang, Chicken Soup, and spring rolls. They gave us shrimp chips with a chili/shrimp paste sauce (think Asian chips and salsa) while we waited for our food.

2023-09-24 22:42:34Came here on a whim as I’ve never had Indonesian cuisine before. I am so glad I did, as it was such a lovely experience!Food: I was caught off guard by the shrimp chips. I usually don’t like them, but the house-made chips were so mellow and crunchy that I ended up eating half of them before i took the picture 😅 i forgot the name of the beef noodle soup (very sorry) but it was very tasty. I added some soy sauce and hoisin and it was a delightful comfort food 😋Service: The chef and cashier are so nice! They told me about the culture behind the food and how it differentiates itself among other Asian cuisines as the food was cooking, so I didn’t even feel like I “had” to awkwardly wait and stare at phone as I normally do for takeout. Even then, the wait time was rather short.Atmosphere: They are so welcoming and motivated and it really lifted my mood for the day. I had to order takeout since I was running errands but I will have to schedule a time to dine-in in the future. Excited to see such a place in Vacaville.Overall, a lovely experience with lovely people and lovely food 👍🏾

2023-09-11 03:44:27We visited this place for dinner and ordered the Hainanese Chicken Rice, laksa noodle soup, pork satay, and spring rolls. The food is sooo delicious. The chicken in the Hainanese Chicken Rice is very tender and juicy. The laksa noodle soup is also very tasty. The pork satay is absolutely the best pork skewer Ive ever had, so juicy and flavorful, grilled with their special homemade spice sauce! The spring roll is so crispy on the outside and filled with juiciness on the inside, complemented by their special garlic lime sauce. We will definitely come again!

2023-08-17 23:57:43My friend and I came across this NEW eatery going to the County Square Market. They are inside their ( soft opening )We did not eat anything due to us showing up right before 3:00 PM. ( closing time ), but the husband and wife duo invited us in with open arms and BIG warm smiles. The owner was not there, but Sam ( the cook ) and his gorgeous wife ( Ying ) a cashier had the most beautiful spirit, and if they do, I know the owner has one too.Sam is VERY PROUD of his culture and food and has the dream to share with his community 😀.Wishing them NOTHING more then suscess and prosperity 🙏.Will do an update soon with a full review of food 😋 as well as pictures 📸

2023-10-09 03:47:43Everything was yummy. The chicken, beef, and pork satay were delicious. The owner said it was his grandma’s recipe. The spicy seafood soup with quail eggs was tasty too. This is our new spot to stop on the way home from Tahoe.I also liked the decor. One big wall is a painting of tropical leaves done by the owner. Above the bar is a cut out metal leaf pattern. I’m not describing it well, but she’s clearly a gifted artist and she made the place feel more like a trendy spot in The Mission in SF. I loved the tiles and the wooden wall. I hope they’ll eventually decorate the large white front wall. I’ll be excited to see what she comes up with.Oh and they are super kid friendly. Our kids were wild with pent up energy and the owners seemed genuinely happy to have them here. They were super friendly.

2023-12-09 15:50:18Went here with my husband and mother-in-law for dinner and really enjoyed it at barzar! Good food, laid back setting, and nice service.Luckily there was a table open for our group size when we arrived so we got seated right away. The person seating us, who also was the one who largely took care of us throughout our dinner, was very friendly and pretty attentive for being essentially the only person working the entry and tables. We ordered pork satay, beef rendang, laksa soup, and hainanese chicken. After we ordered, we got a complimentary little tray of shrimp chips, which were nice to munch on while our food was being prepared. Food started arriving pretty quickly (I got up for a short bathroom stop and came back to see food on the table). The pork satay was probably my favorite. It had a nice flavor to it. The meat wasnt dry or tough. The sauce was also really good. Im not usually a sauce person, especially a peanut sauce person, but this one was really well balanced and not overly peanut flavored (sometimes peanut sauce can taste kinda like eating peanut butter to me; not this one!).Next we had the laksa seafood noodle soup. Im not generally a seafood person (my husband and mother-in-law are), but I thought this was pretty good. The soup base had a really nice flavor and the noodles were good. It took me a while to deshell the shrimp with my fork and spoon as I desperately tried to avoid getting my hands dirty. Probably should have just used my hands like everyone else 😅 Kinda wish we had an extra bowl for the shells, cause I found myself trying to figure out where to put the shells and we ended up piling them on top of the little tray from the shrimp chips. The beef rendang and the hainanese chicken both came with turmeric rice, cucumbers, and peanuts. The turmeric rice had a nice flavor, and I enjoyed the peanuts. The beef rendang sauce and flavor was really good. The beef itself was a little bit of a mix - I had some tender pieces but also some that were a little tough and dry. The chicken was tender and not dry, with a nice flavor. Definitely reminded me of the chicken Ive had in Singapore. The amount we ordered felt like the perfect amount for the three of us, and was a reasonable price. There were other things I wanted to try on the menu, but that probably would have meant stuffing ourselves. Guess well just have to come back at some point to try those!

2023-09-26 20:09:17First time trying Indonesian food and we will DEFINITELY be back. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious - the meat was perfectly cooked and the sauces were so good! The owners are so incredibly nice and welcoming. My favorite dish was the beef rendang, but you cant go wrong with this menu.

2023-10-11 20:58:43Recently got take out from here. Wow! I’m impressed. Not something I say often in regards to food in Vacaville. The Pangsit Gareng appetizer was super tasty with great flavors. The pork satay was really really tender and also had a great flavor that reminded me of eating in Indonesia. The Soto-ayam chicken soup was light and fragrant. And the Beef Rendang was absolutely great. All of the meat in each dish was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I’m excited for Vacaville to have another good place that brings cultural dishes to the Area. A must try if you’re in the area. Five stars for sure.
