This pizzeria was incredible. They had Live music, cocktails/beer & plenty of scenery, The menu had So many options to choose from and you can make the crust gluten-free for an additional cost. We decided on the fire-roasted medley which was incredible and the hummus plate which too was like no other hummus we had tasted. The service was excellent. Highly recommend

Let me start by saying that this is my on of favorite pizza restaurants I have been to in all my travels! Its a must when going to South Lake Tahoe, we absolutely love it during cold snowing winter nights. The restaurant has such a great ambience and atmosphere. I believe every night they have live music aswell. The Basecamp pizza, spinach dip and a draft of blood orange beer is our top combination! 👌 recommended this place to anyone!

Fantastic atmosphere and food at reasonable prices given its location and the quality of the pizzas.Base Camp Pizza was our favourite meal in Lake Tahoe - so good we visited twice!The pizzas are generously topped and delicious with a decent range of options - including vegetarian. They are a good size too with a medium enough for one very hungry person or two to share.We recommend the Thai Chicken Curry and Mediterranean pizzas which were divine.Although it seems expensive the pizzas are large so therefore shared. They also have cans of PBR for $4 which is a nice touch rather than spending $11 on a craft beer. The complimentary dipping sauces are a nice touch!If you are looking for a restaurant option in Tahoe or considering coming here then I highly recommend it!

Im not big on pizza most of the time but this place had me eating pizza like a ninja turtle 🍕Visited 3x in this trip!And I know Ill be back againThe location is perfectly between the ice ring and the lifts. Long waiting on Saturday dinner. We were told that we would need 1.5 hours in waiting list when we were at 5:45pm.But fortunately we got two seats on bar tables so we just spent 30 minutes waiting.Pizza was really good. Highly recommend the Base Camp pizza. The roasted peppers are great and amazing.Firestone Walker draft beer tastes awesome.

By far one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had. Everything was perfect. You can literally taste how fresh the ingredients are. The goat cheese on our veggie pizza was delicious and creamy. Great atmosphere. Live music. Happy hour drink specials from 2-4pm. Wonderful service. Live music. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Excellent!

Went here with family and we got the fire medley pizza and garlic fries. The food was delicious. The fries were perfectly cooked and had the right amount of flavour of garlic. The pizza was one of the best vegetarian pizzas Ive had, it was perfectly cooked and was full of flavours. Would definitely recommend this when in the area.

Im giving Base Camp Pizza in Lake Tahoe a 5-star review. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch.I started my meal with a pint of local beer, which was delicious. It was a light and refreshing IPA with a hint of citrus. For my main course, I ordered the make-your-own pizza with chicken, basil, and mozzarella cheese. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. The toppings were fresh and flavorful. I also ordered a side of cheesy garlic bread, which was perfectly cooked and garlicky.The service at Base Camp Pizza is excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive. He made sure we had everything we needed and was happy to answer any questions we had about the menu.The atmosphere at Base Camp Pizza is casual and relaxed. The restaurant is located in a charming log cabin in the heart of Heavenly Village. Theres a large outdoor patio with a fire pit, perfect for enjoying a meal on a warm summer evening.Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at Base Camp Pizza. Our trip to Tahoe included at least 4 visits to base camp pizza. The food is absolutely amazing - variety of pizzas (Thai chicken, pear and Gorgonzola, fire roasted medley and CYO - meatball, onion and peppers) - all fantastic, wings are great and bolognese with meatballs were delicious throughout our many trips here. Craft cocktails and live music during the day and night. We’re here in September and had a wait during the evenings. Patio is heated. Hate to share this place but it’s a definite don’t miss!!!

I love that they serve personal size pizzas so my wife, daughters, and I can all get different types. The food came super quick. We got the Hawaiian and the fire roasted medley. The fire roasted medley lacked flavor which was strange because it has a ton of stuff in it. It was fine with some ranch and salt. The Hawaiin was good. I liked the crust. The Cesar salad was pretty good too. The had a great solo artist performing and the location was great. Lots of stuff to see at the heavenly village.

My husband loved the Base camp pizza(I can’t eat pork) and I loved the Thai curry pizza! This place is a must visit when you are in Tahoe!! I would give it more stars if I could. Everything we ordered here was great .. we had the spinach and artichoke dip, garlic cheese bread, build your own pizza, 4 cheese ravioli and brownie with ice cream. We loved everything and would order everything again. They have vegetarian sauce options if you see anything in the menu you like and want it replaced. It was crowded and we had to wait 30 mins to dine in. The food and the service completely make up for the wait.Must must must visit!

Pete our sever was excellent! We sat outside in bar area. We order a large half pear gorgonzola, and chicken curry pizza. Both Pizza’s was delicious. Pete went out of his way to make our dining experience grand. When we come back to Tahoe we will be coming here again for sure. Highly recommended.

They would probably sell a ton of the mac and cheese if they offered an appetizer sized portion.Found a table at the bar just as someone left but otherwise the wait would have been super long even on a Monday evening. So the one downfall of this place is it can get super crowded and noisy.

Amazing pizza and great service! The garlic bites were delicious and multiple veg/vegan options for the pizza. They don’t usually take reservations but the wait was pretty quick. The servers were very friendly and the outdoor area had a nice set-up with live music. Overall, fantastic place in South Tahoe if you’re in the mood for pizza and drinks!

My cousin suggested to have pizza on our first night in Tahoe and the hostess said we should have reserved our seats at 3 pm! When attempting to do take out at the take out window, we were told it would take 2 hours for the food. So, we ate somewhere else and ordered it the next night. My cousin had to went to the window to order & came back 1.5 hours later to pick up the pizza.- Meat pizza: it was loaded with lots of meat: bacon, pepperoni and ham! The meat was good and the cheese was ooey-gooey. The crust was thin & crispy. However, I wish that the crust was a bit thicker so it would hold the weight of the toppings.- Pepperoni pizza: it was super cheesy and good. They gave lots of pepperoni and the kids loved it.Honestly, I didnt get the hype for the pizza. Yes, it was a good pizza but it wasnt out of this world. The reservation was just too crazy and the take out window took so long. We would try to dine in during off season when we were in Tahoe.

For those saying this is great or even good pizza must have horrible taste and have never had quality pizza in their life. If your from NJ/NY you will be heavily let down. The dough is poorly fermented shown but the picture. Theres literally no air pockets which is what good crust has. The flavor was basic, average quality ingredients. Portnoy would give this a 1.5. Service was great and the atmosphere is very relaxing just dont expect good food.

Base Camp is hands down the best pizza. We go every time were in South Lake. There is always a wait so get there early to put your name on the list! The staff are all very nice and there is often live music. The only downside would be that it gets pretty crowded which isnt a huge deal unless you have a rowdy kid (or kids). They also have really good drinks, the grown up rootbeer is my favorite :)

Been going here for years every time we are in Tahoe. The atmosphere is great, the employees are always very friendly and helpful, and the food is always delicious! Base Camp Pizza is where it’s at!!! Probably some of the best pizza I have ever had and by far the best pizza in the Tahoe area. The service was fast and the staff were friendly and attentive. When it comes to the taste of the food… the food was delicious! I wish I would have ordered an extra pizza to take home with me. Whether you are coming to the area in summer or winter (or the seasons in between) this restaurant is a must try. I highly recommend coming here if you are in the area.

Hi from Monterey, CA. This was our first visit to Base Camp Pizza Co. It was busy but when we showed up we ordered a pre-dinner beer at the bar. Like vultures, we were able to hover around the bar area until a couple left and we were able to swoop on their seats. It was a Thursday night and a niners game was playing on the TV. We stayed for about 45 mins - 1 hour and received excellent service. The Thai Chicken pizza was very very good, would highly recommend it. Medium size was enough for 2 of us. Also we were super excited the pizza came with sauces. We love to dip our pizza in sauce!

I’m a local, and I had never been to your place before. We had friends in town, one vegan and decided to give it a shot. We were all so impressed! After coming in and ordering a pizza for the kids, a salad and pasta, they brought a wrong pizza after twenty minutes. Within 10 more minutes we got the salad and the pasta; however, it took another 5 minutes for a gentleman (not the server) to say I think your pizza is ready and dropping it on the floor. I asked our server how long the ETA is, since if its another twenty minutes well pay for the beer and leave as we havent touched the pasta and the salad. She said another 5 minutes (no wonder for a simple cheese pi,za for the kids). Five minutes later, still nothing. I asked for the check for the beer, and another lady indicated theyd comp our pizza. I asked thats not what I asked for, I would pay for it if after two mistakes they could at least give an accurate time estimate. As we were getting ready to get the check and leave, the pizza arrived. Make sure you hold them accountable. I will definitely pay for the pizza, but zero for a tip.

We moved to SOUTH LAKE TAHOE a month ago after traveling the United States for 2 years during Covid after selling everything in discovery bay ca looking for our forever home. So we’ve had pizza in 30 states and I must say that the gluten-free pizza here at Basecamp pizza is the best we’ve had out of all. The staff here is extremely friendly and the location is perfect if you’re looking to get out and listen to a live band and people watch. Since we’ve moved here we’ve been to Basecamp pizza six times in four weeks. I’m sure this will be a weekly thing for us due to my wife only being able to have gluten-free. We had high hopes based on reviews and recommendation but were very disappointed in our medium sized, base camp pizza To Go. No 1/2 & 1/2 allowed. The dough was pretty flavorless. We asked for extra red sauce but ended up with white sauce and barely any at that. The Greek Salad was good but for a bill of $50, short wait or long, we will not be returning.

This is the kind of place you go to when you avoid pizza for various reasons but sometimes you really crave it. You know every bite is worth it and you can enjoy it without any sort of guilt or regrets. I think a large pizza here is sufficient to feed 4 hungry tummies. We had a variety of dishes, and everything was delightfully delicious but the Thai curry pizza was exceptional. Really loved that. Other than great food, our server was joyful and very attentive. Very rarely does a establishment compel me to hit 5 stars in every facet. Low and behold base camp does the impossible. The service was amazing, being upfront and honest, but yet courteous. The pizza finds away to be equally balanced and filling but not heavy. The atmosphere is a perfect jubilee of patron to staff harmony, exemplified by the live rhythmic outdoor music. As my young kids would rate it, and I would too, A++!

I recently visited Base Camp pizza with a bar and had an average experience. Although the bar offered a variety of beers, I was disappointed to be offered an IPA, which I am not a fan of. I like classic taste of beer. And when I asked for one the bartender wrinkled her nose.The pizza I ordered was just okay. I ordered two halves, one Hawaiian and one pepperoni, and found that the Hawaiian was well prepared, however, the pepperoni was dry. I guess it’s nobody’s fault and looks like Hawaiian pizza needs more time to cook. Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant. Place was crowded and I had to wait about 20-30 min for the table.

I ordered vegetarian fire roasted medley pizza on 8th April as to-go for dinner. Unfortunately, we found a piece of pepperoni in it as shown in the picture at the bottom of the half eaten slice. I am a vegetarian and have never eaten meat before. This incident caused lot of emotional distress and irreplaceable harm to me. I cannot expect such carelessness from the restaurant. I would advise all the vegetarian folks to stay away from this place.

First of all, if you are looking for the best gluten free pizza, look no further. This crust is the best I have tried, ever. I recommend trying the garlic chips from the appetizer menu and specifying that you’d like them gluten free, because they nearly made my wife and I weep. The texture of the crust and the flavor is unreal, as close to a gluten pizza crust I have ever had, and not just any gluten pizza crust, a phenomenal gluten pizza crust. I really cannot stress enough how delicious this crust is compared to any other gluten free crust I have tried. My wife and I are honeymooning here in Tahoe and after one bite of the pizza, we looked at each other, each took another bite out of sheer disbelief, then decided we’d be coming back here every year for our anniversary because it is that incredible. Definitely worth going out of your way to try this pizza if you are celiac or gluten intolerant.

Loved the food but felt very unwelcome the moment we got there.The young woman hostess that sat us and the young server we got just talked to us and looked mad the entire time dealing with us being very short and quick with everything. We said thank you after everything we said and they would not say one word back and just walk away. Saw them dealing with all the families and older people around us and they were giving them 10/10 customer service to. I am 27 male but do look pretty young around college age so maybe they thought I wasn’t going to leave a good tip but don’t judge a book by its cover next time. We got the Thai Curry Pizza, it was delicious! The sauce was a little sweeter than I expected but still yummy! The lime complemented the pie pretty well actually! Dough was light and fresh. The kitchen was pretty fast at making the pizza too. However, the staff was not really great. Walking up for dine-in youre supposed to wait to be seated but the host was no where to be found until I asked someone how can I get seated, with an unpleasant demeanor she said go to the front and the host will seat you (she was the host who sat me) she didnt smile and I did not feel welcome. My waitress came, she was smiling but never brought me the water I asked for. There was a family of four who got seated after we ordered our food. They got their check and left about 15min before us because our waitress never came back to check on us. There was at least 8 staff members on shift for front of house and none of them took any initiative to check on us (assuming because we were not assigned to them). I did notice that the bussers and cooks were only people of color, and vise versa. Not entirely sure if that was purposeful or unintentional but as a person of color and not having proper service I did not feel great in this place. There’s Fireside Pizza In Palisades (formally Squaw Valley) and Rubicon Pizza in Northstar but the menus and taste are all the same. We are Chicago and New York Pizza lovers so it’s a shock for us the even like the Thai Chicken Curry Pizza so much. And if you like it spicy tell them to make it spicy. Heat scale 1 out of 5. Also the Basecamp Pizza (combo) is amazing. They’ll even do a half and half if you aren’t ready to fully commit. There will be line to dine in but you can order online and pickup. The pizza here is so good! Tasty, fresh and satisfying. Wait during dinner time is roughly 10-20 minutes on a busy night, but grab a drink while in line and enjoy the live music. Service was very prompt. Atmosphere was relaxing yet lively.

Surprisingly great pizzas with an awesome beer menu! Nothing too fancy about the pizzas they have here, but they taste fresh and you can tell they use quality ingredients. Prices arent too terrible considering the location. They have tons of indoor and outdoor seating in a heated patio. The beer selection was way more than I anticipated, with quite a few hard-to-find beers in bottles and on tap. Service was friendly and quick!

If you want to feel unwelcome then go to Base Camp Pizza. We didn’t even get past the front door at this establishment. The very reluctant hostess was so arrogant, unpleasant, and unaccommodating that we went to a much friendlier place across the street. Hey lady, it’s just pizza. Don’t be mean to would be customers. They’ll never come back. Less customers = less revenue.

Since Covid, there are only 5 tables open at a time so you have to make reservations in the morning. Take out was a two hour wait time. Food was great and service was too. Outdoor heaters really helped!

Took our food/drink order then delivered drinks. Food runners delivered food and we didn’t see a server until the check was dropped when he kindly explained that they auto grat parties of 6 or more. No refills, no check back, busser brought boxes, just wondering around chatting with other servers waiting for our $46 auto grat.Definitely recommend this place because food and atmosphere. Others servers were engaging. Our experience suffered because of lazy auto grat.

Incredible place! We were seated immediately, and waited on immediately. The service was fantastic. We didnt wait long for anything and our waiter was quick to refill drinks, bring boxes, offer extra sauce for me to take home, and bring our check. And the pizza was so delicious. I absolutely love the pizza here. At least this is my preference. I like pizza that has some good fluffy crust and has great flavor to it. Of course, the cheese is a must for my pizza. This place has given me one of a great Asian fusion pizza. Which is the Thai chicken curry pizza. The curry was spicy and sweet with there cheese though its not mozzerella its more of a creamier cheese. And the vegetables added on to the pizza added a refreshing taste to it. Best to eat pizza with beer or a cocktail. For appetizers I would recommend getting the beer battered parmesan fries, it is to die for. At least in my opinion~. What I got: Thai chicken curry pizza, Beer battered parmesan fries, Mozzerella cheese sticks.

Absolutely amazing experience! We sat maybe 30 minutes before closing but they never made us feel rushed or unwelcome. The food and drinks were amazing, the ambiance was fantastic, and the service was top notch, I’d come back over and over! Our server Bella never once made us feel like we were unwelcome or like our large party was a burden to her, and made sure that we were well taken care of!

Without a doubt, one of the best pizzas we have tried in California! After a long drive, having a pizza was a comforting idea! And the quality of it surprised us! Thin crust, lots of toppings and cheese. Very tasty. No wonder a lot of people ordered the BIG size! You will be surprised coz even for a 3-ingredient pizza, the price was super reasonable especially when they tasted so good. If you have an opportunity to come to Lake Tahoe, try it coz it’s an awesome place for pizza! Good ambience with 80’s music! If we could, we would give it 4.7 coz there’s room for improvement for service. But overall if we stayed here for a longer time, for sure we would go back again!

Very delicious. 4.5 stars. Great staff and service. Can be a bit of a wait during the busy season. I like how the sauce goes all the way to the edge of the crust. Only issue is the 2x Ive eaten here I feel they over cook the pizza. Pep slices were burned crispy and the olives were crispy.

The outdoor environment was awesome (pet friendly too) and the service was also great! We ordered the base camp pizza, their specialty pizza, and it was excellent. The wings as an appetizer were also great. A cute environment with the live music as well. Overall an awesome place to grab a good lunch, or a fun dinner. The prices were very fair as well. Expect a wait though as it gets very busy especially in the winter with all the skiers and others around, thankfully there are some cute drink places around to pass time.

I went to this place by the great reviews same as others but I didn’t know i was not welcomed or preferred customer type as i am a asian. I had to wait 45 min to get a table, which I expected from the first as people lined up.. However, i couldn’t get my food in 35 min after i got my table even if people who came later than me got their foods(as it is a pizza restaurant people get their food pretty quick), so i asked to the server about my food, and he casually said “your food is coming, don’t worry brother…” i knew something went to wrong, so i talked to the manager, initially she said, “if you wait 15 min, we will get your food.” Later, she admitted that the order never been placed after i pointed out the unreasonable situation. Google review is a good reference, but let’s not forget it doesn’t show any racial prejudice.

Great crust. No idea what it’s considered...nice and thin but not airy like Neapolitan. Has so cheesy flair to it too. Did the meaty base camp and spicy curry pizza. So good! Started with the spicy orange margarita and ginger beer drinks that were both good as well. Jack S was a great server despite running around between a lot of tables.
